Mysterio
Note: This is a Gwen Stacy centric story.
It's been two weeks since Ghost-Spider first made her appearance. She and Spider-Man are swinging through New York at midnight. Ghost-Spider has enjoyed her new suit.
"I gotta say it's thrilling swinging through New York! I love these webshooters." Ghost-Spider said.
They arrived at the rooftop of a building.
"Yeah they're cool but don't rely on them too much, they just tools. They're very versatile but the webbings are limited, only use when necessary. Don't rely on them too much." Spider-Man said.
"So why have them at all?" Ghost-Spider said.
"To make things easy, to swing and trap criminals." Spider-Man said.
"So what did you think about me?" Ghost-Spider said.
"You done well these past weeks, you managed to prioritize your activities as Ghost-Spider. I'm proud of you."
"Thanks." Ghost-Spider said.
"Listen... I got something to tell you." Spider-Man said.
"Sure... what is it?" Ghost-Spider said.
"Since summer break is over and I've got to return to collage, Me and MJ are gonna be leaving for the Hamptons at noon, Harry is gonna let us use his home there for the weekend. I was wondering if you're ready, you can watch over New York in my absence?" Spider-Man said.
"Are you serious? Me, flying solo?" Ghost-Spider said.
"If you're not up to it, I can cancel the trip and stay." Spider-Man said.
"No... don't. You need a vacation for all those times you've saved this city. I can do this, you've trained me for this. Trust me, I got this." Ghost-Spider said.
"I do... if there's any problem no matter what it is, let me know and I'll return in a hurry." Spider-Man said.
"I will, I promise." Ghost-Spider said.
"Okay... the night is still young. Want to keep on patrolling?" Spider-Man said.
"I'm up for some action." Ghost-Spider said.
"Okay... let's go." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider continue to patrol New York.
It's 10 o'clock in the morning as Gwen Stacy is still sleeping after the night she spent patrolling New York with Spider-Man.
"Gwen! Time to get up, I made breakfast!" George Stacy said outside the door.
Gwen woke up still looking sleepy.
"Coming Dad!" Gwen said.
She stretched her arms up high and yawned. She went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth.
Later she got dressed as her father has breakfast ready at the table.
"Got any coffee?" Gwen said.
"Sure... the pot is there, help yourself to a mug." George Stacy said.
Gwen grabbed a mug and poured down coffee. She walked to the table as she sat down and drank her mug.
"Are you alright? You look like you haven't slept much lately." George Stacy said.
"Yeah, I've been chatting with Sally again. Guess I got carried away again." Gwen said.
"Look Gwen, it's okay if you want to talk to your friends but don't overdo yourself, even you have your limits. You need to take care of yourself." George Stacy said.
"Your right... I'm sorry I got carried away." Gwen said.
Gwen couldn't explain to her dad what she does lately, she still hasn't told him that she's Ghost-Spider. She sees a paper from the Daily Bugle. It's titled 'Ghost-Spider still terrorizes New York.'
"Can you believe this stuff that the Bugle write about her?" Gwen said.
"Yeah well Jameson still has a negative opinion on heroes, since that invasion months ago, his opinions on them are getting worse." George Stacy said.
"Ghost-Spider is a hero, she should be recognized as one, not treated as a criminal." Gwen said.
"You sound like you have a great opinion on her." George Stacy said.
"Yeah... I heard that she helped you out of a jam weeks ago." Gwen said.
"That wasn't in the paper, where did you hear that?" George Stacy said.
Gwen let it slip as she figures out a lie to tell him.
"Peter... he heard from Betty that she saved you when Doc Ock had you in his grip." Gwen lied.
"Oh... yeah she saved my life. I could tell that it was her first time being a hero. From I could figure out, she must be a teenager at least 16 to 17 years old, about 5' 7" and has a athletic but slim build." George Stacy said.
"Really? That narrows it down to almost every teenage girl in the New York area alone." Gwen said.
"Yeah, but it's a good thing that she was there. Spider-Man is great but even he can't handle everything alone. This city needs more heroes fight for what's right." George Stacy said.
"It does, doesn't. I won't be here if Spider-Man didn't save my life the first time." Gwen said.
"I guess we're both grateful to have heroes in our lives." George Stacy said.
Gwen smiled as she remembered the first time that Peter saved her from Bullseye. A part of her wanted to tell her dad that she is Ghost-Spider, but she knows how overprotective he is of her since her mother died. A part of her knew that he would never allow her into such a life. She decided to keep her identity as Ghost-Spider a secret from him, even though she hates to lie to him, but she has to, she needed to stay true to herself.
At noon at the Parker house, Peter has his stuff packed and ready. Peter dressed in black leather jacket with a white shirt and blue jeans wearing boots.
"You have your underwear and toothbrush packed?" May said.
"Yes I've got the essentials, I've been planning this trip for a week." Peter said.
"Right!" May smiled as she gave Peter the keys. "Here... I think that Ben would want you to have it when you're old enough."
Peter looked at the keys and smiled. "Must've brought back old memories."
"Your uncle and I were young and free spirited. Those were the good days. Now it's your turn." May said.
"Thank you and I love you." Peter said.
"I love you too." May said.
Peter and May hugged each other. The doorbell rang as Peter and May broke off the hug.
"I can guess who that is." Peter smiled.
Peter opens the door and sees Mary Jane with a backpack.
"You ready Tiger?" Mary Jane smiled.
"Ready as you are." Peter smiled.
"You kids have fun and enjoy the trip! Please be careful." May smiled.
"We will, we promise!" Mary Jane said.
Peter and Mary Jane left the house as they reached the garage. They opened it and they see a old dune buggy still house inside.
"Is this a dune buggy?" Mary Jane said.
"Yeah it's vintage, Ben bought it years ago and he and I work on it together, it was our project." Peter said.
"Looks like it's still incomplete, though it could use some color to brighten it." Mary Jane said.
"Any suggestions?" Peter said.
"Well red and blue are your colors, might I suggest adding some spidey decals on the wheels." Mary Jane said.
"And call it what, the Spider-Mobile?" Peter said.
"The only thing you're missing is your own Spider-Cave." Mary Jane smiled.
"Joke now, about me? Really?" Peter smiled.
Mary Jane giggles and laughed.
"Well too bad we're not taking the Spider-Mobile for a ride." Peter said.
"So how are we gonna get to the Hamptons?" Mary Jane said.
Peter smiled as he uncovered something that once belonged to Ben during his youth. Mary Jane's eyes widen as she is surprised.
"Wow!" Mary Jane said.
"I know." Peter said.
Peter and Mary Jane exit the garage as they ride on a 1990 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle. Mary Jane rides behind holding Peter as he drive. Peter and Mary Jane both have helmets on.
"Can't believe that your saint of an aunt and uncle rode on this bad boy?" Mary Jane smiled.
"Well Ben told me that back then they use to do something stupid and dangerous, now I know what he meant. Do you trust me MJ?" Peter said.
"Always Tiger." Mary Jane smiled.
Peter smiled as he put on his sunglasses. "Let's ride!"
Peter drove the motorcycle out of the driveway and hit the road.
Later they arrived at the freeway, Mary Jane held on to Peter tightly.
"Whoa!!!" Mary Jane yelled.
"Now I know why Cap loves riding these!" Peter smiled.
They both head for the Hamptons for their weekend vacation.
At the home that Sally Avril, she and Gwen are alone as Sally's parents are working. Gwen would teach Sally how to box, Sally kept punching the pads that Gwen is holding up.
"Remember to keep your wrist straight, always plant you feet, and last use your hips, that's where all the power comes from." Gwen said.
Sally followed Gwen's advice and punch with her wrist straight and using her hips for power. She hit the pad with success.
"Not bad Sally." Gwen said.
"Tell me why you're teaching me again?" Sally said.
"Well Peter taught Mary Jane some moves since she got kidnapped by Venom the first time, I just want you to be prepared for danger just in case I'm not around." Gwen said.
"Still can't believe that same Peter Parker you've had a crush on is Spider-Man. Who've thought?" Sally said.
"Guessing it makes sense as the answer were in front of us this entire time, all those times he disappeared and getting photos as the only photographer." Gwen said.
"And now you got powers and became his new partner, I'd say that you're both made for each other." Sally said.
"Don't joke Sally, he still has a girlfriend." Gwen said.
"Ah yes... Mary Jane Watson, the model." Sally said.
"Yes, she's very beautiful and even though she doesn't have any power like he does, she can be brave." Gwen said.
"Yeah, but you're just as beautiful as she is, in case you haven't noticed a number of boys who asked you out numerous times." Sally said.
"Yeah, but I was still a shy smart girl who had a crush on Peter since the first moment I seen him. Mary Jane is brave and confident since she can standup to anyone and isn't afraid to show her feelings towards Peter." Gwen said.
"Then you need to be brave and confident as she is, not just in fighting, but when it comes to love." Sally said.
"Doesn't matter, she's his true love, his soulmate. Even though it's hurts a bit, all I can do is respect their relationship and accept that I'm just his best friend and nothing more." Gwen said.
"Look, even if Peter doesn't feel that way for you. There are plenty of guys out there that would be lucky to date someone like you." Sally said.
"Yeah, that might be difficult since I'm not like everyone else." Gwen said.
"Neither is Peter, but he and Mary Jane find a way to make it work, maybe you can too with someone." Sally said.
Gwen smiled. "Thank you Sally, for being a great friend."
"Thank you too Gwen, because you're my hero." Sally said.
Gwen phone vibrates as it has been programmed to intercept any calls on the NYPD frequency.
"All unit, a bank robbery occurred in a bank uptown."
"Time to suit up." Gwen said.
Gwen went into the other room as she pulled out her costume from her backpack. She puts it on and straps her webshooters on her wrists. Sally came in and sees Gwen dressed in her new suit that seemed just as hi tech as Spider-Man's advanced suit.
"Love the suit." Sally said.
"Thanks!" Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider climbs out the window and swings through the city.
At the bank in uptown, the civilians there are scared by a guy dressed in green wearing a purple cape, his head is cased in a round glass bowl helmet. The people there are intimidated by monsters in front them.
"Just stay still and no one gets hurt, I promise." Mysterio said.
Mysterio approach the bank vault as her held up his hand and fires off violet laser at the vault, tearing it down piece by piece. The vault door fell as it got cut. Mysterio enters the vault and sees the money.
"Payday!" Mysterio said.
Mysterio summons smoke as it engulfed the money inside.
Ghost-Spider arrives at the top looking down at the bank, she sees someone wearing a bowl on his head.
"Great, now my first supervillain is a faceless Jack-in-a-box man." Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider came in and landed on the floor facing Mysterio in front of her.
"Who the hell are you?" Mysterio said.
"Really? I'm Ghost-Spider, Spider-Man's new partner!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Doesn't ring a bell. Where's Spider-Man?" Mysterio said.
"Away, can I help you?" Ghost-Spider said.
"I was expecting Spider-Man, not a Spider-Man wannabe." Mysterio said.
"Wannabe! Okay, now you ask for it!" Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider shot a web at him, only for him to turn into smoke that engulf around her. The smoke started to clear as she sees not one, but eight Mysterios around her.
"Now there are only one of you and eight of me. What's the wannabe to do?" Mysterio said.
Ghost-Spider shoots off multiple webbings at all the Mysterio, she got them.
"Got all of you!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Did you?" Mysterio said.
The Mysterios vanished as she sees that she webbed up the civilians instead.
"Oh crap!" Ghost-Spider said.
The police came in and see that Ghost-Spider webbed up some civilians.
"You! Let them go now!"
Ghost-Spider noticed the scenario this looks like.
"Oh no, no! This was an accident, I was webbing up Mysterio but ended up webbing them by mistake." Ghost-Spider said.
"Put your hands up in the air!"
Ghost-Spider raised her hands slowly.
"Sorry about this!" Ghost-Spider said.
She shot her webshooters and webbed their guns, she yanked them off their hands.
"I'm not the bad guy here!" Ghost-Spider said.
She tossed the guns aside as she ran out of the bank and swings away.
"Great! Not only did i fail, I also made myself look guilty. I wonder how Peter does this. Should I call him and explain what happened.?... Nah... I don't want to spoil his day, this was my mess, I need to fix this myself." Ghost-Spider said in her thoughts.
Two and a half hours later, Peter and Mary Jane arrived at the Hamptons.
"We're here, welcome to the Hamptons!" Peter said.
They see all the beaches and beautiful houses that the Hamptons have to offer.
They arrived at the beach house that Harry and his Dad own. Peter uses the keys that Harry lend him. The keys opened the gate as they drove the motorcycle inside the premises. They see the house from the outside, Peter parked the bike out front.
"Wow!" Mary Jane said.
"Tell me about it." Peter said.
Peter and Mary Jane got off as they approach the door and Peter uses the keys to open it. They entered it and are amazed by the beauty inside.
"I can see why Harry enjoyed spending the summers here." Peter smiled.
"It's a good thing that Harry told the housekeeper that we'd use the place for a few days, we have the place to ourselves." Mary Jane said.
Peter pulls out his phone.
"What are you doing?" Mary Jane said.
"Calling Gwen, wanted to make sure that everything is alright." Peter said.
"I'm sure that she's fine, she said that she'll call you if there was an emergency." Mary Jane said.
"That's a good point." Peter puts away his phone.
"Peter! Over here!" Mary Jane said outside.
"What is it?" Peter arrived outside.
"Look... they got a hot tub outside." Mary Jane said.
"Damn." Peter said.
"It's been more than a two hour drive here, we could try to relax." Mary Jane said.
"You want to use the hot tub? Right now?" Peter said.
"I assume that you know how to prep a hot tub?" Mary Jane said.
"I'll figure it out." Peter said.
Later as the van arrive at an abandoned theater, Mysterio exited and brought the money from the bank heist. He meets up with his partner who is working on a tech. He drops one of the duffel bags that carried the money.
"Here you go Mason, your share from the heist." Mysterio said.
Phineas Mason opened it up and checks all the money that Mysterio collected. He a criminal who goes by the Tinkerer, he invents advanced tech and sells them to criminals, he is currently partners with Quentin Beck who is Mysterio.
"How is my tech Beck?" Tinkerer said.
"Your tech is a masterpiece, that's why you're the Tinkerer." Mysterio as he removes his helmet.
"I see that my hologram projectors passed their first test run." Tinkerer said.
"Rob a bank and fooling the people was easy, but to outwit a hero is a bonus." Mysterio said.
"Spider-Man?" Tinkerer said.
"Nah, just some wannabe who filling in his shoes. But the good news is that Spider-Man is away, so we have an advantage here." Mysterio said.
"Wait... you want to pull off another heist?" Tinkerer said.
"Why not! With Spider-Man gone and this amateur out of her league, we can make more money than ever. Besides I do all the risk and you get the money, partner." Mysterio said.
"Alright, I'll find you a score." Tinkerer said.
Tinkerer types into his computer and hacks bank systems, he is finding a score.
Ghost-Spider returned to Sally's house as she climbs through the window. She sees Sally waiting as she removes her mask.
"How did it go?" Sally said.
"Not great, my first time flying solo and I screwed it up." Gwen said.
"What happened?" Sally said.
"There's this new super villain, he seemed to have some kind of mystical power, caught me off guard." Gwen said.
"Mystical, like magic? Is that even real?" Sally said.
"Well we are in a world that there's superpowers, gods and aliens, is it that hard to believe?" Gwen said.
"That's a good point, so what the next move? You think that you should Peter a call?" Sally said.
"Look... he's having a great vacation with his girlfriend. I don't want to ruin that for him. This was my mess, I need to fix this." Gwen said.
"Okay... so how do we find this new villain?" Sally said.
"Wait, he seemed to know how to strike and where to find the money in the right vault. He must be hacking the bank systems to get intel. If we can use that we might be able to figure out where he'll strike next." Gwen said.
"What makes you think that he'll strike again?" Sally said.
"Call it a feeling." Gwen sees a computer. "May I?"
"Of course." Sally said.
Gwen sat down and uses Sally's computer to hack the bank systems, hoping to find a pattern.
"Since when did you learn to hack?" Sally said.
"I've always been good with computers, besides Peter taught me, he learned it from Black Widow." Gwen said.
Gwen was able to bypass the firewall and found something.
"I found something." Gwen said.
"What is it?" Sally said.
"Someone just recently accessed the manifest, it had schedules and travel routes of armored cars delivering a shipment of newly minted bills, there's one traveling through downtown at 9 PM tonight." Gwen said.
Gwen got up and puts on her mask.
"Are you sure you don't want to call Peter for help?" Sally said.
"I'm sure... besides I think he has other things on his mind." Gwen said.
At the Osborn beach house, Peter got the hot tub working as the water is bubbling and warm.
"Okay MJ! Water is looking good!" Peter said.
Mary Jane came out wearing a robe with her hair tied up.
"Looks warm!" Mary Jane said.
"Yeah, let me go change and..." Peter stopped.
Mary Jane removes the robe and dropped it down as Peter could see that Mary Jane is wearing nothing.
Peter is amazed and smiled. "You're not wearing your suit."
"I know." Mary Jane smiled.
Mary Jane walked into the tub and submerged her body into the water, her chest areas are covered.
"Care to join me?" Mary Jane smiled.
Peter smiles as he stripped off his shirt and pulled down his pants and boxers. He went into the water and felt the heat. He's in the same state as Mary Jane, naked and relaxing.
"Ah!!! That's hits the spot." Peter said.
"You look like someone who hasn't had a vacation in a long time." Mary Jane said.
"Well I haven't, crime never sleeps." Peter said.
"Something on your mind?" Mary Jane smiled.
"I'm just worried, I get this feeling that something is not right. I think that Gwen is in trouble." Peter said.
"Why do you say that?" Mary Jane said.
"I think that it's too soon for her to fight alone. Maybe I should've stayed and make sure that she's alright." Peter said.
"Gwen is so much like you in so many ways, you need to have faith that she can handle herself." Mary Jane said.
"I do have faith in her, but nothing in life is ever certain, eventually she'll face a problem that could push herself closer to death. I won't forgive myself if anything happens to her because I wasn't there to save her." Peter said.
"It's cute that you worry for your friends. You know what your problem is Tiger? You worry too much." Mary Jane said.
"For good reason." Peter said.
Mary Jane moves in closer to Peter.
"MJ... what are you doing?" Peter said.
"You need to relax Tiger... and I'm going to help you relax." Mary Jane said seductively.
Peter smiled as Mary Jane got closer, she and Peter kissed each other as their bodies are pressed close. Things are getting really hot, it's not from the water.
The armored car drove through the city as it reached a dead end.
"Wait a minute, there shouldn't be a building on his map."
They looked at the GPS and see that they're on the correct route.
"This makes no sense, there shouldn't be a building here. Turn around."
The driver looked at the mirror and sees another building behind him.
"I can't, there's a building behind us!"
"What? What the hell is going on here!"
Smoke started appearing around the armored car, they see a swarm of bats coming at them, they all got scared.
Mysterio appears behind the armored car.
"That should keep them distracted, this is all too easy." Mysterio said.
Mysterio raised his hands and fires off violet lasers at the door. He succeeded in cutting it open as he got inside and sees the newly minted bills.
"Like taking candy from a baby." Mysterio said.
Mysterio loaded up the money into the duffel bags, he walked out as he spotted Ghost-Spider swinging in.
"We meet again fish bowl man!" Ghost-Spider said.
"I prefer Mysterio." Mysterio said.
"Mysterio? That a strange name for a villain, but who am I to judge." Ghost-Spider said.
"Someone whose out of her league. Are you sure you want to fight me?" Mysterio said.
"It is my job." Ghost-Spider shot a web at him, but he disappeared, though she did hit something.
"Got something." Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider yanked something to her, she sees something that has been cloaked and it looks like some kind of device.
"What is this?" Ghost-Spider said.
She puts it away as it could be important. She sees large amounts of smoke heading towards her.
"You think that you're someone, you're just a child thinking that you can step up and be the Next Spider-Man." Mysterio said.
Images of Spider-Man appears before her.
"You really think you can be me?" Spider-Man's illusion.
"No... you're not him, you're not real!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Neither are you, you're a fake, you're no one!" Spider-Man's illusion.
Ghost-Spider steps back from the illusion as Mysterio gains the upper hand.
"It's been fun... bye bye!" Mysterio said.
Ghost-Spider's spider sense goes off as the illusion disappears, she then got hit hard by a bus.
"Ouch!" Mysterio said.
The bus kept driving as Ghost-Spider got a hold of the side and she climbs up. She was injured by the impact.
Later as Sally awaits Gwen to return, she sees her climbing into her window and pulls of her mask, she looked bruised.
"Oh my god! Gwen, what happened to you?!" Sally said.
"I underestimated him, I got hit by a bus at high speed. Barely made it back, my left shoulder feels dislocated." Gwen said.
"We need to pop it back straight, it's gonna hurt." Sally said.
Gwen held up her left arm. "Just do it."
Sally got a hold of her left.
"Ready... one... two... three!" Sally pulled it hard.
Gwen felt the pain from the pull. "Owww!"
"How's you arm?" Sally said.
"It hurts but it's fixed... thanks." Gwen said.
"You're welcome." Sally said.
Gwen's phone rang, it's her dad.
"Damn... I got several missed calls." Gwen answered her phone. "Hey dad!"
"Gwennie, I called several times, why didn't you call back?" George Stacy said.
"Oh... my phone ran out of power and I needed to recharge. Sorry if got you worried." Gwen said.
"I just glad that you're alright." George Stacy said.
"Sure... listen uh, do you think that I could spend the night here with Sally?" Gwen said.
"You're having a sleepover, is she okay with you being there?" George Stacy said.
"It's okay Mr. Stacy, I don't mind having Gwen here." Sally said.
"Well... okay, I guess I'll see you tomorrow." George Stacy said.
"Thank you dad... I love you." Gwen said.
"I love you too." George Stacy hanged up.
"Thank you, you're a lifesaver. I was going to have to figure a way to explain my injuries. I'm going to hit the shower if that's okay." Gwen said.
"Sure, there's some clothes you can borrow." Sally said.
Gwen enters the bathroom and strips out of her suit. She turns on the water and cleans herself up, she could feel the sting on her injured skin.
Tomorrow morning at the Hamptons as Mary Jane is sleeping naked under the blanket. She woke up and noticed that Peter isn't here, she checks her phone and sees that it's 6:30 in the morning.
Peter is outside running around the beach as there are no people around. He ran faster than any human can thanks to his super speed. He wears a black tank top shirt and gray sports shorts. He ran a lot as he is working up a sweat.
He finished jogging as he ran back to the house, he walked in and sees Mary Jane awake and making coffee.
"How is the jog, Usain Bolt?" Mary Jane said.
"It was fine, ran like thirteen miles in thirty minutes." Peter said.
"I can see that from the sweat you worked up, you should take another lap... did you just take it? I assume you just took it." Mary Jane smiled.
"It's been so long since I had a vacation, guessing it's still new to me. Usually I'm out there fighting off bad guys. Now I'm here and all I can feel is like running." Peter said.
"I thought that you would enjoy the peace and quiet here with me." Mary Jane said.
"Hey... I don't regret being here with you. You're my life Mary Jane, the woman I love." Peter said.
Mary Jane smiles as she lean forward and kisses him.
"You know that you stink... you should get cleaned up." Mary Jane smiled.
"Lead the way!" Peter said.
Mary Jane grabbed his hand and leads him to the bathroom.
Gwen woke up and sees that it's morning.
"Morning sleepyhead." Sally said.
Gwen see Sally holding a mug and hands it to Gwen, she drank it.
"Thanks." Gwen said.
"No problem, I see that you're feeling better." Sally said.
Gwen got up and pulled up her shirt. She looked at herself in the mirror and sees the injuries from last night has disappeared, she's all healed up.
"You were all injured and now you're completely healed." Sally said.
"It's my healing factor, I can heal from injures within hours." Gwen said.
"That's so cool. By the way you're in this morning's paper." Sally shows her the Daily Bugle.
It's titled 'Ghost-Spider robs Banks.'
"Great! Now they think that I'm a bank robber." Gwen said.
"One more thing, what is this thing?" Sally holds the device.
"It's something I got from last night's heist, must've belong to Mysterio." Gwen said.
"Mysterio? That's a strange name." Sally said.
Sally thinkers with the drone as it activates and shows an image of Mysterio in front of them.
"What the...?" Sally said.
Gwen got closer and placed her hand through the hologram.
"It's a hologram, but very advanced." Gwen said.
"So all those things you saw were..." Sally said.
"Yeah, they were all fake, none of it was real... Wait a minute, if theses drones are all connected, maybe we can use that link and trace it back to its source and find Mysterio." Ghost-Spider said.
"That could work." Sally said.
Gwen links the drone to the computer and ran an algorithm with a map of Manhattan. She succeeded as the trace is working, she followed the signal back to its source, it stop as she found the location.
"Got it! Looks like he's at abandoned theater that's been closed for years. Perfect place for a hideout." Ghost-Spider said.
"We should get going." Sally said.
"We?" Gwen said.
"Yeah, you and me, we." Sally said.
"It could be dangerous." Gwen said.
"Gwen, he nearly killed you, you might need backup just in case. Please." Sally said.
Gwen doesn't like the idea of bringing Sally on a mission, but even though she has powers, Gwen has been bested twice, she may need backup on this one.
"Okay... but you're going out there, you'll need to dress apart." Gwen said.
"I have just the thing." Sally said.
Ghost-Spider arrived at the abandoned theater with Sally who is now dressed in a blue hoodie and black pants, she wears a blonde wig and blue eye mask.
"How did you get the wig and the mask?" Ghost-Spider said.
"They were from Halloween last year." Bluebird said.
"What are you gonna call yourself?" Ghost-Spider said.
"I was thinking... Bluebird." Bluebird said.
"Bluebird?" Ghost-Spider said.
"You think you're the only one who can come up with names?" Bluebird said.
"Fine Bluebird, let's get going." Ghost-Spider said.
"So any ideas on how to see past his illusions? Last time you got hit by a bus." Bluebird said.
"Yeah about that... I got this sixth sense that alerts me of danger and anticipates any movement, it's called a spider sense." Ghost-Spider said.
"Wow, didn't know that." Bluebird said.
Ghost-Spider and Bluebird enters the building as they unknowingly tripped the silent alarm.
In the other room, Mysterio and Tinkerer notice a blinking red light, they checked the cameras and see Ghost-Spider and another individual.
"She found us, how?" Tinkerer said.
"The drone from last night's heist, she must've traced it back to us." Mysterio said.
"Damn it Beck! You left behind evidence that traced back to us! Are you really that sloppy?!" Tinkerer said.
"Quit your bitching Mason, I've beaten her twice, the third time will be easy. Let's get to work!" Mysterio said.
Meanwhile Ghost-Spider and Bluebird search around and sees nothing.
"This place is big, let's split up." Ghost-Spider said.
"I'll take upstairs and see the projector room." Bluebird said.
"Okay, I'll head for the theater room and check. Use caution." Ghost-Spider said.
"I will, I promise." Bluebird said.
They split up as Bluebird went upstairs and reached the projector room. Looks like it's a work shop, she sees the drones as well as the laser gloves.
"Looking for something?" Tinkerer said.
Bluebird turns around and see Tinkerer holding a electroshock baton.
"Who are you?" Thinkerer said.
"I'm Bluebird." Bluebird said.
"Bluebird? Another wannabe? Doesn't matter, you came to the wrong place." Thinkerer said.
Thinkerer swings his baton at Bluebird but she dodged it.
"That was close." Bluebird said.
"We're just getting started." Tinkerer said.
Thinkerer and Bluebird face off.
Ghost-Spider enters the seating room and hears a ruckus upstairs.
"Bluebird!" Ghost-Spider said.
"I'm afraid that she's busy with my friend." Mysterio appears in front of her. "Right now it's just you and me."
Mysterio fires off his lasers at Ghost-Spider as she jumped up, he kept firing at her as she dodged them.
"Stay still!" Mysterio said.
"Ah... no!" Ghost-Spider said.
In the other room, Bluebird managed to dodge every swing despite that she has no power using her natural agility. She picked up a paint can and throws it at him. He got hit an dropped his baton on the floor. She ran up and kicked him back. She then does a spinning kick until Thinkerer caught her leg and forced her down. He then got his hands on her neck, she's being choked.
"You're out of your league, you got no powers. So what to do?" Tinkerer said.
"This!" Bluebird said.
Bluebird kicked him hard in the balls, Tinkerer let's go and got up, he felt the pain down below as he could barely get his thoughts straight. Bluebird is freed as she stands up and sees him in pain.
"That's gotta hurt!" Bluebird said.
Bluebird plants her feet, swings her hips, kept her wrist straight, she punched the Tinkerer hard in the face as he got knocked out cold.
"Wow!... those lessons sure paid off." Bluebird said.
Meanwhile Ghost-Spider is facing off against Mysterio.
"Come at me! If you can!" Mysterio said.
The drones around Mysterio formed an illusion that Ghost-Spider could only see.
"Okay Ghost-Spider, this is it." Ghost-Spider closes her eyes and breathes.
She charges in relying on her spider sense, she took down the drones one by one as she is gaining the upper hand. The illusion cleared out as she sees Mysterio in front of her.
"Okay... you got me!" Mysterio said.
She turns around and grabs both wrists of Mysterio, the illusion that Mysterio made of himself disappeared. She crushed the power source on his wrists, disabling the lasers.
"Now I got you." Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider let's go and executes a punch and knocked out Mysterio. Bluebird is upstairs looking down at Ghost-Spider.
"Hey!" Bluebird said.
"You good?!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Yeah! I'm good! Now what?!" Bluebird said.
"What does one do when she got criminals? Call the police!" Ghost-Spider said.
Later as the NYPD came in, Captain Stacy and his men waited outside. They see Ghost-Spider coming out with Mysterio and Tinkerer.
"Glad that you've came, allow me to introduce these masterminds behind the robberies, Mysterio and Tinkerer! Here's the evidence to prove it!" Ghost-Spider throws duffel bags full of cash from the robberies.
Captain Stacy walked up closer and opens up the bags, he see the money.
"Men! Take these two away!" George Stacy said.
Two officers came and arrested Mysterio and Tinkerer.
"Thank you Ghost-Spider, I can see that Spider-Man chose well in making you his new partner." George Stacy said.
"Thank you... Captain Stacy." Ghost-Spider held back from calling him Dad.
Ghost-Spider swings away as George Stacy watches. Something about her seem familiar to him.

"Mmm, this fries are heaven!" Sally said.

"Honestly... it felt thrilling, empowering. It felt great being a hero." Sally said.
"I hope that this the last time Bluebird is needed. I just don't want you to overdo it and risk yourself a lot." Gwen said.
"I'm only in this life because of you, you came to me when I was in danger, you saved my life. You're my hero Gwen." Sally said.
Gwen smiled as she is recognized as a hero to Sally and to her father. Her phone rang as it's Peter calling, she answered.
"Hi Peter." Gwen said.
"Gwen... I'm calling to check on you, to see if everything is alright?" Peter said.
"Yeah... everything is fine. I got the bad guys and returned the money back." Gwen said.
"Really?... I'm amazed that you could handle yourself without me. I was getting worried." Peter said.
"I appreciate your concern, but I've got this. Don't worry, New York will be waiting for you when you get back. Enjoy your vacation." Gwen said.
