The battle on Aquilaris raged in both the sky and on land. Jaica provided directions for the ground troops by monitoring the screens, constantly switching between the various footage from different feeds. In an effort to gather what was happening on the ground, she almost missed the footage a recorder droid started streaming from the cavern that contained the kyber crystals.
"Is that...?" Jaica turned the monitor towards her. Sure enough, the girl who called herself Rey was fighting the clone while Vader stood nearby.
"Watch this feed," Jaica told one of her assistants as she returned her attention to the ground troops, "And let me know of any developments,"
It didn't take long before the subordinate said "Rey just made a huge crack in one of the walls…oh my gosh, the cavern is collapsing!"
Tearing her eyes away from the battle, Jaica watched in shocked silence as geological debris began to fall. The footage was shaky (as the droid was whirling around to avoid being crushed), but she could make out Rey disappearing into a submersible while Vader and the clone attempted to make their escape via the small opening they had crawled through earlier.
Then, without warning, a shower of yellow and red sparks erupted from Vader as stalactites came crashing down on him while the clone slipped out of sight.
"Vader's dead," Jaica's assistant said. "And…it appears as if the clone pushed him out of her way so she could make the escape,"
Jaica froze. Vader had died?The general looked back at the screens where the battles were streamed. Not a single one of them was aware their Supreme Leader had just perished.
"Signal the soldiers to retreat and have the squadrons bomb sites one through five before they depart," Jaica ordered. "The battle is over,"
