Carnage Part II
Note: This is a second part of the two part story that introduces Carnage. This chapter marks the return of Venom.
In the apartment of Anne Weying, Carnage knows that Eddie Brock is Venom and has the symbiote that once bonded with Spider-Man, then it bonded to Eddie and turned him into Venom.
"Time for you and the symbiote to become one again." Carnage said.
Carnage opens the container and releases the symbiote as it moves towards Eddie Brock.
"No! No, I want to stay Eddie Brock!" Eddie said.
The reached Eddie Brock and began to bond with him again until Anne woke up and came out wearing a robe and sees Carnage and Eddie being consumed by the symbiote, she yells in fear.
"Ahhh! Eddie, what's going on?!" Anne said.
"Ah, so you got a fine lady here, it's been so long since I had a nice piece of ass in front of me." Carnage said.
"Stay away from her!" Eddie said.
Eddie is completely bonded to the symbiote and became Venom once more, Anne couldn't believe that Eddie Brock is Venom.
"Leave her alone!" Venom screamed.
Venom came charging in at Carnage and attacks him. Carnage fights back by kicking Venom off.
"You want Venom! You got him!" Venom said.
"Bring it on, dad!" Carnage said.
Venom and Carnage face each other in combat, the more that Venom fights the more the symbiote began to take over him. Carnage gained the upper hand and punched him back, he then formed a blade on his hand and has it on Venom's throat.
"Listen up, we can go on and kill each other until one of us is dead... or we can work together and get vengeance on the one who wronged us both... Spider-Man!" Carnage said.
"Spider-Man! Yes... yes! Now we remember, we made a promise to get back at him for separating us." Venom said.
"I'd take him on alone but he has a partner now that has proven to be a challenge, but with you at my side, we can triumph against them. Together we shall destroy them!" Carnage said.
"I'm in... partner." Venom said.
Carnage and Venom shake hands and joined forces to destroy Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider.
"Let's go then partner." Carnage said.
Carnage left the apartment as Venom is about to follow until he stopped and sees Anne looking at him.
"Eddie." Anne said.
The symbiote retracted the face and showed her the face of Eddie Brock.
"Anne... I'm sorry." Eddie said.
Eddie returned to being Venom and left Anne behind. She looked out the window and watched Venom swinging away. A part of Venom is still human and still has an emotional attachment to Anne Weying.
In the morning as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider returned to the apartment of Mary Jane Watson after spending the night searching for Carnage and possibly Venom. Mary Jane sees Peter and Gwen without their masks on. Peter is still donned in the Iron Spider armor that came useful against Carnage.
"How did it go?" Mary Jane said.
"Not great... we have another problem to add to our troubles. He has the Venom symbiote." Peter said.
Mary Jane is shocked to hear that name again.
"Venom?!" Mary Jane said.
"We've searched around for Eddie Brock and still no sign of him, he could already have the symbiote if hasn't already." Peter said.
"This is not good, Eddie still knows that you're Spider-Man and he came after me and May to get back at you. How much could he have told Carnage?" Mary Jane said.
"We don't know, but one thing for sure is that no one is safe with Carnage and Venom still out there. Venom could still cloak himself from my spider sense, he could show up at anytime." Peter said.
"Any ideas on how to find Venom?" Gwen said.
"Ravencroft, that's the mental institute I've placed him in after separating him from the symbiote, they might know something that could lead us to Eddie." Peter said.
"It's worth a shot, let's go." Gwen said.
"Sorry Gwen but I need you to stay close to Mary Jane for the day, chances are that your spider sense could still work against Venom." Peter said.
"Alright but be careful, if you're in trouble I'll rush to your rescue, got it?" Gwen said.
"Got it! Peter said.
Peter puts on his mask and swings away towards Ravencroft.
Carnage and Venom arrived at the hideout that Cletus Kasady uses as a home. Venom sees the corpses that Carnage left behind.
"Sorry about the mess, got carried away." Carnage said.
"Not a problem, but just out of curiosity... what do you have against Spider-Man?" Venom said.
Carnage reverted back to his human form, to Cletus Kasady.
"Cletus Kasady at your service." Cletus Kasady introduced himself.
"Still doesn't explains why you hate him?" Venom said.
"I'm glad that you've asked... allow me to tell this tale... four years ago I was at a wrestling arena where there was cash up ripe for the taking, it was easy like taking candy from a baby, I ran and bumped into Spider-Man who let me go that day. I was hunted by the cops and needed a ride until I crashed into someone's home and found a couple. I demanded a car until the old man tried to stop me and ended up eating lead from my gun. I left him to die as I took his ride. I managed to make it to a warehouse until Spider-Man came in and was ready to kill me until he spared my life. Because of him, I ended up in prison like an animal in a cage." Cletus Kasady said.
"So you're the one who killed Ben Parker." Venom said.
"How did you know his name?" Cletus Kasady asked.
Venom transforms back into Eddie Brock.
"Because you killed his uncle, that's why he hates you. Spider-Man is Peter Parker, the nephew of the man you killed." Eddie said.
Cletus Kasady laughed. "Now it makes more sense, how could I not see it? It was in front of me this entire time!"
"Not to worry, I know who he loves and where to find them." Eddie said.
"I'm listening, go on." Cletus Kasady said.
Eddie Brock began to spill the secrets that he knows about Spider-Man and who he loves.
At Ravencroft Institute, Dr. Ashley Kafka arrived at her office until she got surprised by Spider-Man who was already inside.
"Spider-Man! How did you get inside?" Ashley Kafka said.
"I used the window." Spider-Man said.
"Oh!" Ashley Kafka said.
"Listen... I need your help, one of your patients might have gone back to being bad." Spider-Man said.
"Listen Spider-Man, I'm bound by Doctor-Patient confidentiality, so I cannot say much." Ashley Kafka said.
"I respect that, I really do but that doesn't apply if said patient commits future harm. His name is Eddie Brock, he goes by Venom." Spider-Man said.
"Venom? That supervillain that attacked the city last year, this was him?" Ashley Kafka said.
"Yes and I need to find him before he does any harm to anyone... please Dr. Kafka, help me." Spider-Man said.
"When he was first committed here last year, he was angry... at life. I've been treating him these past months and he seemed calm, more normal. I think that he's changed." Ashley Kafka said
"Hope that you're right Doctor. Is there anything you can give me that could help me find him?" Spider-Man said.
"No, i didn't get any new information after he left." Ashley Kafka said.
"Is there anyone who came to see him, friend or family?" Spider-Man said.
"There was this woman, she came to see him these past months he was inside." Ashley Kafka said.
"Does this woman have a name?" Spider-Man said.
"Give me a second." Ashley Kafka said.
Dr. Kafka logged onto the computer and searched the visitor's log, she found a name of the woman who came to see Eddie Brock.
"Got it, her name is Anne Weying, according to the driver's license she gave, she's lives at Greenwich Village. That's all i got." Ashley Kafka said.
Dr. Kafka write down the address and gave it to Spider-Man.
"Thank you Dr. Kafka." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man left Ravencroft and follows the lead that could help him find Eddie Brock.
At the apartment of Betty Brant, she put on her shirt and gets dressed for work after she and Ned Leeds had spent the night together. She and Ned had been dating these past months, it's been a while since she had a guy over, the last guy who she slept with is Peter Parker, her friend and coworkers.
"Get dressed Ned, we need to get to work before Jameson has us fired." Betty said.
"Too bad, I wanted to stay in bed with you. Maybe we can have breakfast." Ned Leeds smiled.
"Tempting but no, I love my job as a reporter." Betty said.
Ned Leeds got up off the bed and put on his pants, he picked up his shirt and dressed up.
"By the way, did you hear about that new supervillain who's going around killing people. He kinda looks like Venom." Ned Leeds said.
"Yeah... I know who Venom is." Betty not looking too happy as she hear that name.
"I'm sorry, I forgot that he's that same guy who kidnapped you last year. Didn't mean to reopen that can of worms." Ned Leeds said.
"It's okay Ned. I just hope that this new one is nothing like Venom." Betty said.
Ned Leeds got all dressed up for work as he and Betty left the apartment. Betty is still shaken by Venom, sometimes she gets nightmares about him, but thanks to her family, friends, and her new boyfriend, she's moving forward.
Spider-Man later arrived at the address that he got from Dr. Kafka, the apartment of Anne Weying. He crawled to her window and see the damage inside. He opened the window and entered the apartment to look around.
"Look like I'm at the right place, but no sign of Carnage or Venom." Spider-Man said.
His spider sense tingle as he jumped up and avoided a swing from a broom and sees a blonde haired woman attacking him.
"Whoa! Easy there, I mean you no harm!" Spider-Man said.
Anne looked again and sees Spider-Man in her apartment, she calms down and puts down the broom.
"I'm sorry Spidey, I'm just a little shaken from last night." Anne said.
"What happened last night?" Spider-Man said.
"Me and my friend Eddie Brock came back to my place after we celebrated his freedom and we've..." Anne didn't finish her sentence.
"You two..." Spider-Man said.
Anne blushed as she couldn't say much about what she and Eddie did last night. Spider-Man then gets the idea about what could've happened between them.
"Oh! You mean you two... got involved." Spider-Man said.
"Well... yes." Anne said.
"Oh okay... so after you two did your thing, what happened?" Spider-Man said.
"This creature came and had this black ooze coming onto Eddie. That red creature wanted to do something... with me until Eddie stepped in and saved me." Anne said.
"What? Eddie saved you?" Spider-Man said.
"I know that it's crazy but a part of Venom is still Eddie Brock, he's not such a bad guy." Anne said.
"You must really love him, don't you?" Spider-Man said.
"I've always loved him ever since we were teens. I know that there is still good in him, he's just trapped inside that monster consumed by hatred. He doesn't need to be put down, he needs help." Anne said.
"I can't promise that, but I'll do my best to help Eddie." Spider-Man said.
"Thank you, please save him." Anne said.
Spider-Man left the apartment and swings away to find Carnage and Venom. A part of him wants to help Eddie but he knows better than anyone how dangerous Venom is, the last time they face each other, he threatened the city and kidnapped Mary Jane. It took everything he had to finally stop Venom, but now that he's back and teamed up with his uncle's killer, he made the mistake of sparing him before and locking him up. He made a compromise once that saved a friend during the Skrull invasion. He fears that the only way to stop Carnage and Venom for good is to kill them.
Mary Jane and Gwen arrived at F.E.A.S.T. to help out May Parker who still works there. She was feeding the homeless a batch of wheatcakes that she made.
"Mary Jane, Gwen, it's wonderful to see you both." May smiled.
"Hi May, I heard that you and my dad are on a break with you relationship." Gwen said.
"I'm afraid that we are, we tried but between work here and his job as Captain of the police, we hardly see each other anymore." May said.
"I can relate." Mary Jane said from experience.
"I'm sorry, but I was glad that you and him dated, it's was the first time I've ever seen him happy since my mom died." Gwen said
"Thank you Gwendy, it so much come from you." May said.
The window ceiling came crashing down as Carnage came in and showed himself.
"Hello everyone!" Carnage smiled.
"Oh my god!" May said frightened.
Gwen ran out of the room as Mary Jane stayed with May. Gwen found a restroom and enters it to change into her suit.
Meanwhile Carnage has May and Mary Jane in his sights.
"So you must be the widow of Ben Parker, I recognize that face of you." Carnage said.
"What are you talking about? How dare you talk about my dead husband!" May said angry.
"If you really miss him so badly, allow me to help you join him!" Carnage said.
Carnage formed a blade from his hand and began to swing until Ghost-Spider came in and kicked him back.
"Everyone! Get out of here!" Ghost-Spider said.
May and Mary Jane managed to reach outside with the rest of the civilians. Mary Jane pulled out her phone and dialed Peter.
Inside F.E.A.S.T., Carnage and Ghost-Spider face off against one another.
"If isn't Mini-Spidey!" Carnage said.
"You made a big mistake coming after May Parker." Ghost-Spider said.
"Not just her, but that red headed babe too. I gotta say that Spidey sure enjoys sleeping with that piece of ass. I wonder what she would taste like before I killed her. Can't wait to find out after I killed you." Carnage said.
Carnage charged in swinging his bladed hand, but Ghost-Spider uses her acrobatics to dodge him.
Mary Jane and May are outside while Ghost-Spider and Carnage are fighting inside. Mary Jane decided to go help out Ghost-Spider.
"Mary Jane, where are you going?" May said.
"I'm gonna help Ghost-Spider! Stay here!" Mary Jane ran inside.
Ghost-Spider and Carnage continued to fight, Ghost-Spider gained an advantage as her spider sense works against Carnage as she can anticipate his moves. Carnage gained the upper hand as he arms stretched and punched her, she crashed against the wall.
"Not bad little one, but I'm afraid that is time for you to die!" Carnage said.
The speakers inside the building turned on at very high volume as it causes pain to the symbiote.
"Ahh! It hurts!" Carnage yelled.
He then see Mary Jane at the controls as she is the cause of this ruckus.
"You!" Carnage yelled.
Carnage throws out projectiles from his symbiote at the speakers, taking them out as Carnage is free from the noises. Mary Jane sees that Ghost-Spider is still injured and Carnage has his sights on herself.
"Oh crap." Mary Jane said.
"Mmm! You got spunk Red, I like that!" Carnage said.
"Then you're gonna love me!" Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man came just in time as he engages Carnage in combat. Mary Jane ran up and helps up Ghost-Spider.
"Are you alright?" Mary Jane said.
"I am... thanks to you. You saved me." Ghost-Spider said.
Spider-Man and Carnage continues to fight as Carnage unleashes his bladed tentacles until Spider-Man countered them with the four waldoes from his Iron Spider Armor.
"I'm glad that you're here Spidey... or do you prefer Peter Parker." Carnage said.
"Let me guess... your new best friend spilled all my secrets." Spider-Man said.
"Ah yes, he turns out to be quite a partner. We both want the same thing... you. But I gotta admit, I should thank you for letting me go that night. Remember... that same night your dear Uncle Ben died... oh I'm sorry, forgive me! I mean murdered!" Carnage said.
"You monster!" Spider-Man said in anger.
Spider-Man charged in and attacked Carnage in anger as he kept punching him over and over.
"Time you die for good this time Kasady!" Spider-Man said.
"Stop!" Mary Jane said.
Spider-Man was about to finish off Carnage until he sees Mary Jane looking at him. He stopped and hesitated in her presence, Carnage took the opportunity to punch Spider-Man off him.
"You're pathetic... you should've finished me off. As long as I'm alive, I'll come for you, your girl, your aunt, anyone else you love. The only way you're ever gonna stop me is to kill me!" Carnage said.
Carnage left F.E.A.S.T. as Spider-Man got up and sees that Carnage escaped once again.
"Damn it! I had him!" Spider-Man said.
Later as May Parker returned home with Peter and Mary Jane.
"Thank you both for taking me home, but it's not necessary." May said.
"It's no problem. Listen May, I think that you need to take a few personal days away from the city until this whole thing is over with." Peter said.
"Peter, I can't just leave my home and work behind." May said.
"May... please! It won't be forever, that thing is still out there. I'll feel better if you're out of danger. Please May... for me." Peter pleaded.
May could tell that Peter wants him out of danger because of Carnage. If she stays here, she'll most like get killed by Carnage and Peter will never forgive himself if anything terrible happens to her.
"Okay... Anna Watson is leaving tonight to visit her relative in Pennsylvania. I can pack up and leave tonight." May said.
"Thank you." Peter turns to Mary Jane. "MJ, maybe you should go with them."
"Tiger, I won't leave you." Mary Jane said.
"Mary Jane, it's not safe here!" Peter said.
"I know! I won't leave you, I can't!" Mary Jane protest.
"That's enough, please don't fight in this house." May said.
"I'm sorry May." Peter said.
"I'm gonna start packing, play nice you two." May said.
May went upstairs to pack for the trip, leaving Peter and Mary Jane alone to talk.
"I'm sorry I was harsh on you, but Carnage is still out there and so is Venom, no one is safe." Peter said.
"Peter... back there at F.E.A.S.T. you look like you were ready to kill Kasady." Mary Jane said.
"I am... it's the only way to end this madness." Peter said.
"Tiger." Mary Jane said.
"I spared Kasady and locked him up in prison so he never hurt anyone ever again. But now he's escaped and more dangerous than ever, people are dying because I didn't do what was necessary to end him." Peter said.
"Peter... you're no killer." Mary Jane said.
"Tell that to Veranke." Peter said.
"What you did that day saved someone, you saved a good person from someone who didn't hesitate to kill without any regrets. It's who you are Tiger, you're a savior. Please Tiger... don't lose sight of who you are." Mary Jane said.
"What I am is someone who's willing to do what's necessary to end this nightmare once and for all." Peter said.
"Peter... you know that I would stand by you through anything... but I cannot be a part of something like this." Mary Jane said.
"I would never ask you to. I respect who you are, a great person. But this is my burden to bear. I've endured this before, this will be no different." Peter said.
"Tiger... if you go down this road... you won't come back the same. Please, don't let Kasady destroy the person I love." Mary Jane said.
Mary Jane walked away as she went to Aunt Anna's house. Peter could see that he's disappointed Mary Jane with his recent behavior. He thought that he would move on from his past, but the past kept coming back to haunt him.
Later at the Daily Bugle as the news of Venom's return and the arrival of Carnage has the city scared.
"Look at this Robbie, Venom got taken down by Spider-Man but that creature came back and now has a new partner in crime. I got a gut feeling that Spider-Man is behind this." Jameson said.
"How could you say that JJ? It's clear that these two hate Spider-Man." Robbie said.
"Since he and his super friends showed themselves, this world had gotten more dangerous than ever. He gets a new partner that Ghost-Spider, more criminals with powers kept popping up. These heroes have done nothing but inspire more monsters. Run this headline, 'Venom and Carnage terrorizes city, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider to blame'." Jameson said.
"I told you that Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are not menaces!" Robbie said.
"And I told you..." Jameson said.
"I'll take care of it!" Robbie said.
Robbie left as Jameson tossed out his cigar out the window and is left alone in the office
"These freaks think that they're above the law. If one of them is here I'd say it to their..." Jameson stopped as the cigar he tossed came tossing back to him.
Jameson is confused as to why the cigar is back on his table. The window came crashing in as Venom burst in and grabbed Jameson's throat.
"Jameson, just the person we wanted to see!" Venom said.
Everyone on the floor sees Venom holding Jameson. Betty became shocked and froze as she sees Venom here in person.
"Betty come on! We have to go!" Ned Leeds yelled.
Betty is frozen in fear as she sees Venom again, the same Venom who kidnapped her last year and held her hostage.
"Betty! Let's go!" Ned Leeds yelled.
Ned pulled Betty out of the room as they and the rest of the staff evacuated the building, leaving Jameson at the hands of Venom.
Peter and Gwen are at the apartment until Peter got a call from Betty Brant.
"Betty, sorry I can't talk right now." Peter said.
"Peter, he's back. Venom is back! He has Jameson!" Betty said.
"Okay... I send Spider-Man right now." Peter hangs up.
"What is it?" Gwen said.
"Venom is at the Daily Bugle, we gotta go now." Peter said.
Peter and Gwen donned on their costumes and swings away to the Daily Bugle to face Venom.
At the apartment of Anne Weying, she sees the live footage of the Daily Bugle.
"We're going live as a creature that calls himself Venom has broken into the Daily Bugle and holds Editor-in-chief J Jonah Jameson hostage."
"Oh my god! Eddie!" Anne said.
Anne got up and grabbed her purse, she left the apartment to go out.
Back at the Daily Bugle, Jameson is still held hostage by Venom. Jameson could tell that Venom hates him for some reason.
"What's your beef with me, Venom?" Jameson said.
"You haven't figured it out?" Venom said.
Venom retract the symbiote off his face and showed Jameson the face of Eddie Brock.
"Brock? You're Venom." Jameson said.
"You always boss me around without any appreciation, you alway favored Parker instead of me, even Betty has feelings for him. It's always Peter Parker who gets everything." Venom said.
"You took Brant just because she chose Parker? You really are a mad men Brock!" Jameson said.
"I can see that she's moved on to another guy." Venom said.
"She was wrecked after the hell you gave her, she deserved to be happy." Jameson said.
"You think that I'm here because of Betty? You're just bait to draw Spider-Man here." Venom said.
"Spider-Man?! The guy hates me, why do you think he'll lift a finger to help me?" Jameson said.
"You really can't see it? It's because he's..." Venom's mouth got shut by the web in the face.
Venom removes the web from his face as he sees Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider here in front of him.
"Don't kiss and tell!" Ghost-Spider said.
"I knew that you're all in this together!" Jameson's mouth got webbed.
"Hey kiddo, let mom and dad talk for a minute, will you?" Spider-Man said.
"Glad that you're here. We've waited a long time for this." Venom said.
"Come on Eddie, it doesn't have to be this way." Spider-Man said.
"Sorry, We made a promise to you, We're just keeping my word." Venom said.
"What about Anne?" Spider-Man said.
"Anne?" Venom said.
"She stills loves you Eddie, think about her!" Spider-Man said.
Venom is shaking as the thought of Anne Weying is getting through to him but his hatred for Spider-Man is fighting back.
"Don't you talk about her!" Venom said.
Venom attack Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider at the same time. He could get the best of Spider-Man thanks the symbiote's previous bond to Spider-Man, but he's having a hard time keeping up with Ghost-Spider thanks to not having bond to the symbiote. He got kicked in the face by Ghost-Spider then he got attacked by doing a kip up. Venom got bested by the teamwork of the two spiders.
Spider-Man does the axe kick until Venom caught his leg and pulled him up. Ghost-Spider charged in until Venom tossed Spider-Man at her, he then webbed them both up. They're having a hard time trying to break free.
"All too easy, now it's finally time for you to die Spider-Man!" Venom said.
Venom is about to kill both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider until Anne Weying came in and sees Venom.
"Eddie!" Anne said:
Venom turns around and sees Anne Weying.
"Don't do it Eddie!" Anne said.
"Anne!" Eddie said.
"Eddie, you're still a good person. Don't throw away your life. Eddie, I still love you." Anne said.
Venom struggles as Eddie is regaining control of himself but the symbiote's influence on Eddie starts to affect him. Eddie was able to best the symbiote and regained control of his life.
"I love you too Anne." Eddie said.
Eddie and Anne hugged each other as he carried her and swings her away from the Daily Bugle. Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are still stuck in Venom's webbing.
"We got to get out of this!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Hang on." Spider-Man said.
The Iron Spider Armor extended one of the waldoes and its tip started to heat up as it cuts through the webbing.
Later as Venom swings away with Anne in his arms, they arrived at the rooftop of a building.
"Thank you Anne for stopping me." Eddie said.
"I knew that there was still good in you. I never gave up on you." Anne said.
"You're my light Anne, the woman I love." Eddie said.
"I love you Eddie." Anne said.
"I love you too Anne." Eddie said.
Eddie and Anne are about to kiss until Carnage arrived.
"You!" Eddie said.
"I'm disappointed, you've gone soft." Carnage said.
"I'm in control now, I have no desire to hurt Spider-Man or anyone else. I'm done here Carnage." Eddie said.
"Oh... we're just getting started!" Carnage said.
Venom and Carnage started to fight one another again. Venom fires off his webbing at Carnage but he uses his blades to cut them off. Carnage charged in and clawed Venom in the gut.
"Eddie!" Anne screamed.
"Not so fast, blondie!" Carnage said.
Carnage got a hold of Anne Weying as Venom recovered from his injuries thanks to the symbiote. Venom sees Anne in the hands of Carnage.
"Anne!" Venom screamed.
"Not so fast old man, take another step and I'll shred her to pieces! So back off!" Carnage said.
"Don't hurt her!" Venom said.
"Of course not, but I still need you to take care of Spider-Man and his friend. I'll be holding her as leverage. Remember to bring me Spider-Man dead and I'll give you back your girlfriend. Just remember that she's counting on you!" Carnage said.
Carnage left with Anne Weying as his hostage.
"Anne!" Venom said.
Venom watches as he's powerless to stop Carnage as he has Anne in his hands.
"I will save you Anne, whatever it takes." Venom said.
Venom is gonna need help to save the woman he loves, but he's not gonna like it.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider arrived at Avengers Tower where Mary Jane is waiting, they removed their masks.
"How did it go?" Mary Jane said.
"Not great, Venom bested us both. We were lucky that we survived." Gwen said.
"There's still the issue of Carnage. They're both out there and we have no way of finding them." Peter said.
"Look no further!" Venom said.
They see Venom here in their sights, they prepare to fight.
"Easy! I'm not here to fight you. I'm here because I need your help!" Venom said.
Venom reverted back to Eddie Brock.
"Better?" Eddie said.
"Start talking, but remember if this is another trick, you will not like the consequences." Peter said.
"So be it. Kasady has Anne and he'll kill her if I don't kill you." Eddie said.
"Kasady is a psychopath, he'll still kill her anyway. So why come to me?" Peter said.
"Because I'm desperate, because Anne is all I have!" Eddie said.
"You really think we can trust you after everything you've done to us?" Mary Jane said.
"Let's be clear about something, I don't trust any of you and I'm not looking to be friends with you. But right now I'm risky everything coming here to ask you to help save an innocent live!... please." Eddie said.
"I still don't trust you Brock... but I'm not about to let an innocent person pay for this... Kasady took someone very dear to me... We're only doing this for Anne, not for you." Peter said.
"Fine... I guess we're partners... for now." Eddie said.
Spider-Man and Venom formed an uneasy truce to help save Anne Weying from Carnage.
Spider-Man, Ghost-Spider, and Venom swings through the city to the lair that Carnage uses.
They arrived on the rooftop near the lair as they look at the place.
"This is the place?" Ghost-Spider said.
"Kasady is inside with Anne, I need to bring you in dead." Venom said.
"Yeah, that's not gonna happen." Spider-Man said.
"I'm not saying that you should be dead, Kasady wants proof of your demise. If he senses anything funny, he'll kill Anne in a instant." Venom said.
"What makes you think that I'll trust you with my life? That you won't kill me the first chance you'll get?" Spider-Man said.
"Because I know that you won't walk away from saving someone." Venom said.
"So you know me, but don't forget that I know you too," Spider-Man said.
"You think that you know me?" Venom said.
"You kidnapped Betty, tried to kill me more times, went after May and Mary Jane to hurt me, unleashed a army of lizards on this city where people died." Spider-Man said.
"Fine Peter, I'm not perfect. But guess what, neither are you! You blame yourself for what happened to your uncle because you didn't act, you let Kasady go that night, because of that your uncle is dead." Venom said.
Spider-Man pushed Venom against the wall and has his fist ready to punch.
"Peter!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Go ahead... won't change anything." Venom said.
Spider-Man calmed down as much as he hates it, Venom is right.
"I admit that I've made mistakes, big ones. Since I was separated from the symbiote, I was angry and alone, I thought that I'd die alone with all my hate. Then she came and she showed me that I could find my way back from the darkness, that I could be redeemed for all the terrible things I've done. You know what that feels like, don't you? You still lived in the darkness since the night your uncle died and you blamed yourself for it." Venom said.
"It's my fault that he died, if only I stopped Kasady that night, he be alive right now." Spider-Man said.
"I thought that I can move on from the past, but the past came back. I can't change what I've done but maybe I can do something to save Anne. I don't want revenge... I want redemption. If I have to die to save Anne then it'll be worth it." Venom said.
Spider-Man sees Venom differently, back then Eddie Brock hated both Peter Parker and Spider-Man for all the troubles he caused. Now Eddie is a completely different person, more better thanks to the help at Ravencroft and his love for Anne Weying. Peter knows better than anyone about making mistakes and living with the guilt.
"Alright... I'll trust you this time. Hope you know what you're doing." Spider-Man said.
"So do I." Venom said.
Later Anne wakes up and sees a couple of decayed corpses that Kasady left behind.
"Ahh!" Anne got spooked.
"Sorry Blondie, my friends seemed to have died on me." Carnage said.
"You're insane." Anne said.
Carnage revert back to Cletus Kasady and got closer to Anne.
"What are you doing?" Anne said.
"Tell me... have you ever been with a criminal, some ladies are turned on by it. Do I turn you on?" Cletus Kasady smiled.
Anne slapped him in the face, as Cletus Kasady smiled.
"Feisty, I like it." Cletus Kasady smiled.
The door barged in as Venom came in holding Spider-Man on his shoulder. Cletus Kasady transformed back into Carnage and holds Anne.
"I'm here, and I have Spider-Man, dead." Venom said.
Venom tossed Spider-Man down on the floor as Carnage sees him. He let's go of Anne and approach a little closer to Spider-Man.
"I must say, I've underestimated you Venom." Carnage said.
Carnage has his bladed hand ready to kill.
"Yes you did. Now!" Venom said.
Spider-Man jumped up and kicked him back as Carnage got surprised by Spider-Man is still alive.
Ghost-Spider came in and grabbed Anne.
"Let's go!" Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider left the building with Anne as Spider-Man and Venom team up to take down Carnage.
"Stay back Venom, I'm about to activate the Sonics." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man's Iron Spider Armor activated the Sonics as Carnage is feeling the pain. He then throws projectiles from the symbiote to the ceiling as it crashes down on Spider-Man, deactivating the Sonics. Spider-Man is trapped under the rumble as Carnage gets closer.
"Nice try, fool me once." Carnage said.
Carnage is about to kill Spider-Man until Venom charged in and pushed Carnage back. Carnage and Venom are face to face.
"I made a mistake of teaming up with you. Allow me to correct that mistake." Carnage said.
"Bring it!" Venom said.
Venom and Carnage fights off as Spider-Man climbs out of the rumble and sees that his suit needs a few minutes to recharge for another shot at Carnage.
Outside the streets of New York, Ghost-Spider managed to get Anne Weying to safety.
"You're safe, I have to go and help them." Ghost-Spider said.
"Go! Be careful!" Anne said.
"Aren't I always?" Ghost-Spider jokes.
Ghost-Spider swings back to the lair to aid Spider-Man and Venom.
Spider-Man climbed out of the debris as he and Venom teamed up to take on Carnage.
"Can't you hit him with that sonic thing?" Venom said.
"It's recharging, I only got one shot left, I need to get closer to make it more effective." Spider-Man said.
"Then I'll buy you time and give you an opening!" Venom said
Venom charges in and fights Carnage. Even though Venom is like the father of Carnage, the offspring of the symbiote is proven to be much stronger than Venom is.
Venom fires off his webbing at Carnage until Carnage sliced them off and he charged in and stabbed him in the gut.
"Brock!" Spider-Man said.
"Goodby old man!" Carnage said.
Carnage kicked Venom off the window as he fell down, Ghost-Spider sees Venom falling down. She got closer and caught him, she swings him to a safe spot. The symbiote healed Venom from the injury but he's weakened.
"Venom, are you alright?" Ghost-Spider said.
"Ah... give me your hand." Venom said
Ghost-Spider gave her hand and Venom grabbed it, the symbiote is transferring itself to Ghost-Spider.
"Go get him." Venom said.
The Venom symbiote began to bond with Ghost-Spider.
Meanwhile Spider-Man and Carnage are alone about to face off.
"You think that you can take me, you've barely defeated Venom, what chance you have against me?" Carnage said.
"Slim one, but that won't stop me." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man shot off some impact webbing and immobilized Carnage until he started to cut off the webbing around him. Carnage charged in and swings his claws at him. Spider-Man rely on his speed and agility to dodge them, Carnage is having a hard time keeping up until he unleashes the bladed tentacles at him and hits him. Spider-Man is still protected by the armor, Carnage grabbed his neck and chokes him.
"Shh! Go to sleep!" Carnage said.
Spider-Man is having a hard time breathing until Carnage got kicked back by someone stronger. Spider-Man got up and sees Ghost-Spider bonded to the symbiote.
"Gwen?!" Spider-Man said.
"Yeah, it's me. This feel so great, the power!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Yeah, don't let it get to your head." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider team up to fight Carnage. Ghost-Spider could feel the symbiote enhancing her own strength as well as influencing her mind.
"So the little one now has a symbiote." Carnage said.
"I need to get close to him, can you give me an opening?" Spider-Man said.
"I'll give you your opening, just get that bastard." Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider charged in and move at faster speed than ever before. She and Carnage are facing off in combat, Ghost-Spider has an edge thanks to her spider sense and the enhancement the symbiote gave her.
Spider-Man is waiting patiently as his suit is almost done recharging for another shot at Carnage.
Carnage swings his bladed hand at Ghost-Spider but she dodged it and webs up Carnage's feet. Carnage couldn't move as Ghost-Spider came in and punches him hard, Carnage is getting bested by a teenage girl with powers and a symbiote. Carnage's tentacles came out and attacked her but she pulled back. Carnage sliced off the webbing off his feet. Ghost-Spider got charged in and pushed back by Carnage.
"Ha! Ha! Ha! Did you really think that you can beat me?" Carnage said.
"No... I just needed to distract you." Ghost-Spider said.
Carnage got surprised as Spider-Man grabbed him from behind and Ghost-Spider got up and hold him still.
"Spider-Man now!" Ghost-Spider said.
Spider-Man activated the Sonics again only at close range as it's becoming very effective against the Carnage symbiote, unfortunately the Venom symbiote is affected too. The Carnage symbiote began to unbind with Cletus, the Venom symbiote freed itself from Ghost-Spider as it leaves the area, away from the loud noises.
Ghost-Spider sees the Carnage symbiote moving away as she webbed it up as to keep it from escaping. She found a bucket that she placed the symbiote in and locked it up tight.
Spider-Man sees Cletus Kasady before him, all powerless and weakened from the separation.
"This bring back memories. Are you really gonna do it this time?" Cletus Kasady smiled.
"No... I'm not like you, you're going back to prison for a long time." Spider-Man said.
Cletus Kasady ran out of energy from the separation and passed out cold. Spider-Man did the right thing by sparring Cletus Kasady again.
"Where's the symbiote?" Spider-Man said.
Ghost-Spider hold up the bucket that has the Carnage symbiote inside.
"All locked up tight." Ghost-Spider said
"And the other one?" Spider-Man said.
The other symbiote is gone and they looked out the window and see that Eddie Brock is gone too.
"He's gone too." Ghost-Spider said.
"Doesn't matter, we've stopped Carnage and saved a life, that's all that matters." Spider-Man said.
The next day at Stan's Diner, Peter, Mary Jane, and Gwen read the paper.
"Finally, this nightmare is over. Cletus is on his way to the Raft where he won't be able to escape again this time." Peter said.
"You did it, you stopped Carnage without having to kill him." Mary Jane said.
"Yeah, though I didn't do it alone, thanks to Gwen here and to a bigger surprise, a big thanks to Eddie Brock." Peter said.
"Why did you spar Kasady?" Mary Jane said.
"Because of you, you were right, I'm a savior. But it's also thanks to Eddie Brock, he reminded me that even though we make mistakes, we're capable of redemption. Wherever he is, I'm sure that he found his." Peter said.
"To Eddie Brock." Gwen said.
"To Eddie Brock!" Peter and Mary Jane said in unison.
A week later at night, at the apartment of Anne Weying, she was in the bathroom checking on something that had been bothering her since the night she and Eddie got together. She checked the test and it confirmed that she's pregnant, she's carrying the child of Eddie Brock.
Unknown to her, Eddie Brock is outside watching her from her apartment window. He smiles as he's happy that Anne is safe and sound. He left the area and transformed into Venom as he swings away.
