Hi, I'm new to fanfiction and I've been trying to get the courage to post this story. I'm a few chapters in and I have big plans. So please review and be kind.
This story is loosely based on the events that happened in the anime while adding my own twists. I had an idea and just kept rolling with it as many of us do.
I do not own Fairy Tail or any of the characters.
1.
Lucy was through dealing with her father. She had followed every rule done all she could to create a relationship. After her mother passed things changed. Her father became colder. He was prepping her to one day to be married off to keep his business running. She never thought it would be so soon.
She didn't want the life of a debutante. Before her mother passed away she left her a key. Not just any key it was a celestial key belonging to the water bearer, Aquarius.
Lucy wanted nothing more than to become a celestial wizard and join a guild. Not just any guild but the number one guild in Fiore, Fairy Tail.
...
"That's it, I've had it!" said Lucy, grabbing her suitcase from her closet and throwing clothes and hygiene products into it.
She finally convinced herself to run away. She was 17 now and another year passed where her birthday was forgotten.
Flashback
"Hello father, you wanted to see me?" She said upon entering her father's library.
"Yes, Lucy, come in, I have something for you..." her father said, standing from his chair.
Lucy was confused, could he actually remember her birthday? He never gave her presents. Suspicious of her father's actions she walked further into the library.
"What is it father?" She said shyly being the daughter of a Heartfilia meant grace and poise. Always dressed to impress in pretty dresses that you could never breathe in. Being a debutante wasn't exactly easy or a life she would have chosen but she had to obey or there would be consequences.
"Lucy I think it's about time for you to get married" her father came right out and said it. Lucy's heart stopped causing her to also stop breathing.
"What" she hardly managed to let the words escape.
"Speak up girl I can hardly hear you, you know it's poor etiquette to mumble in the presence of a man." her father said sternly.
Lucy felt cold and anger started to bubble in her gut.
" I have a proposal for you from the Duvalle family. They have agreed to this marriage to join our families to keep the business running."
NO! NO! He can't control my future.
"Father, I decline the proposal" Lucy said in a loud enough whisper.
"WHAT?" He father yelled
" I decline, I don't want this life anymore. Im 17 now and I can make my own choices. I never wanted this. Mom wouldn't have wanted this." Lucy yelled tears falling from her face.
"LUCY, How dare you! You will do as you're told, I am your father and I know what's best for you!"
"OH DO YOU NOW?" Lucy yelled back. Anger taking over clearing the tears that blocked her vision. " You can't even remember your own daughter's birthday!? I am done with you and this family." With that she ran out of her father's library.
End of flashback
Before Lucy left the estate she made one stop. Her mother's grave.
"Hey Mom, I'm sorry but I have to go. You told me once to follow whatever path I chose. This is the path. I'm going to become a Fairy Tail wizard." She said aloud, tearing up as she spoke.
With her suitcase in hand and her keys strapped to her belt she left, without looking back.
…
The young mage found herself in a small village. She had never spent time out of the estate unless her family went on a business trip. She knew how the world worked but she was on her own now. She didn't have much to call her own. She had a bit of money saved up but that will run out quickly is she wasn't careful.
The village was crowded for the size. Villagers were outside wandering the streets with smiles on their faces, selling their goods. It made her smile.
She came across a magic shop. She knew she needed to save her money but if she wanted to be a wizard she needed gadgets and gizmos. Most importantly, she needed to increase her collection of celestial keys.
The shop was bigger on the inside then it looked. It was dusty and cluttered with all kinds of things. The shelves we're covered in cobwebs and a thin layer of dust but she didn't care. She found herself in front of a large bookshelf.
Lucy loved to read and learn new things. Looking at the bookshelf she noticed all types of books on magic. She grabbed a few and continued to look for anything and everything.
Just as she turned the corner she was startled by who she believed was the owner of the shop. "Hello there, and what brings you to my shop?" He said. He was old and had the biggest mustache she had ever seen.
"Oh, hello, I'm a traveler and I just happened to come across your shop. I found some great books that I can't wait to read." She responded holding them up for the old man to see.
" Oh I see you found some good ones, is there anything in particular that I can help you with, miss?" He said, giving her a smile that made her feel a little on edge. He seemed nice but he was definitely giving her some creepy vibes.
"Actually there is something. See, I'm a celestial wizard and I'm seeking new keys." She said approaching the counter.
"Ah, I see, I just happen to have one," he said grinning. He left the counter and came back with a silver key.
Lucy's eyes lit up. He actually had one. And a silver key at that. She was in luck. But how much was this going to cost her?
"Oh wow, how much?" She asked leaning against the counter using her figure and feminine features to strike a deal.
"20,000 jewel." He said flatly.
Wait, that didn't work?! She thought she would definitely get a deal as she was a beautiful young woman. Sighing at the cost she decided to try to bargain.
"20,000 jewel really? You can't cut a deal for me, please?" She asked, leaning in a bit trying to woo the man one last time.
"Alright, alright, 19,000 but that's my final offer." He said.
"Awwe, really? That's all," she sighed. She didn't even know what spirit it was but she knew she wanted it. Reaching into her bag she pulled out the money and handed it to the shop owner.
"A pleasure doing business with you, dear." Taking the payment and handing her the key.
Lucy left the shop holding her new books and key in hand. She'll strike a contract with her newest member later. For now she needed to continue her journey or she would run broke.
...
It was late afternoon when Lucy finally reached the next town, Hargeon. She was making great time but she wouldn't reach Magnolia for another day or so. She needed to find a place to stay or she would be out on the streets for the night and that wasn't in her plans.
Hargeon was very different from the last. Bigger, more people, the town was colorful in decor. It was a port town. Looking around she saw a sign for a hotel with free breakfast.
Of course when she asked for a room the front desk girl said all the rooms were booked for the night. Just her luck. Great what am I supposed to do now? She wondered.
She left the hotel and decided to just explore the city. She came across a large crowd of young women.
"IT'S SALAMANDER" They all shouted. Who the hell is that? She investigated the crowd to only find herself under the same spell.
…
Just outside the town where our young mage Lucy found herself under the attraction spell of this so-called salamander. Natsu and Happy were on a journey to find Igneel. He had heard a rumour from someone in the guild that a dragon was in this village. Taking that information seriously, Natsu was determined to find his dragon.
"Natsu, I'm hungry." Happy complained. Happy was sitting on top of Natsu's head.
" Don't worry little buddy, we'll be in town soon." Natsu said grinning ear to ear.
Making their way into town. Natsu heard a couple villagers mention the name Salamander. Hmm salamander eh? Could it be Igneel? He thought.
"Hey Happy, did you hear that?!" He asked his blue companion.
"Sure did, Natsu. Do you think it's him?" Happy responded.
"I don't know, but we are going to find out."
…
"Show us your magic Salamander" yelled some of the girls in the crowd.
Lucy was there with them all but not sure why. She didn't know this guy, but yet she was thrilled to be in his presence. And Salamander, what a silly name to call yourself. The guy wasn't half bad looking but there was definitely something off about everything.
"Ladies, ladies calm down. I'll show you something real special." Said the so-called salamander. He flicked his wrist and magic sparked Sending the wizard into the air.
"Ladies, tonight is your night, you are all invited to my party on my yacht. Make sure to wear something nice." He said sending more magic into the air sending the girls screaming for more.
A party? Lucy thought to herself. That could be a good time. Though she would need to change. The outfit she had on was not party ready. She was wearing a shirt blue skirt and a white crop top and knee high brown boots.
All of a sudden the crowd of girls started yelling. Lucy couldn't make out what they were saying. It was muffled by the girls ogling over the wizard. She looked around to see if she could make out the commotion.
"Stop pushing" said one girl
"Who are you" said another
"Get out of here you pink haired freak" said a few more.
"HEY SALAMANDER!" the pink haired boy yelled now standing front and center.
The wizard called Salamander landed on the ground in front of the pink haired boy.
"And who might you be? A fan of the great wizard, Salamander?!" Said the wizard pulling out a self portrait and signing his name on it.
Lucy all of a sudden came to her senses. She noticed that Salamander had many different rings on. So that's what happened. She was under his spell. Thanks to the interruption from the strange boy, she could finally think clearly. Although she noticed most of the girls around her were definitely still engrossed with the wizard.
"YOU'RE NOT IGNEEL, JUST WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?" Yelled the pink haired boy. Lucy watched the exchange curious about the stranger. She was extremely grateful to finally be out of the trance but who was this kid and what was going on. Just who is Igneel?
"Igneel, no, I don't know anyone by that name." He said as he rose into the sky once again. "Ladies don't forget about tonight, I look forward to seeing you all." with that the girls cheered and he disappeared.
…
Natsu was standing in the center of the circle, fists clenched. He was sent on a wild goose chase. Just where are you Igneel, you've been gone for so long.
"Hey there, thanks for saving me from his spell." Said a beautiful blonde girl standing before him.
"Uh, yeah, no problem." Replied Natsu. He wasn't sure how he saved her but she seemed grateful and that was good enough for him.
"That guy was a real piece of work huh, he has all these girls falling for him, doesn't he know that you can't have them all…" She said putting her hands on her hips. "I'm Lucy, by the way, are you hungry, my treat." She said, holding her hand out to shake the boy's hand.
"Hello, Lucy, my name is Natsu"
"And I'm Happy" said another voice from above.
Lucy looked up to see a blue cat flying in the air above them.
"OHMYGOD, a talking flying cat! HOW CUTE!" Lucy said "It's nice to meet you both, so are you guys hungry?"
Natsu and Happy both exchanged a look that gave Lucy her answer. Yes, they were both hungry.
The trio found themselves in a small diner. Lucy had ordered a burger. She told Natsu and Happy they could order anything they wanted, that wasn't the best idea, they practically ordered everything.
"So Lucy, what's your story?" Natsu asked, shoving a mouthful of food into his face.
" My story, huh, well we only just met, but yeah I guess it doesn't hurt to open up to new friends." Lucy said. Come to think of it she's never had a friend of her own. Natsu was a little weird but they had only just met.
"I'll try to give you the short version." She said, taking a drink of water.
" We've got time," Natsu assured her. She smiled warmly and took a deep breath in and slowly let it out.
"Well, I just had my 17 birthday, my father had never been one to give me the time of day especially after my mom died a few years ago. She left me a few celestial keys and told me to follow my heart and choose my own path. So I left home, recently, actually yesterday, well really late last night." She said looking down at what was left of her meal.
" Aww, Lucy, I am really sorry to hear that. You said your mom left you celestial keys does that mean you're a celestial wizard?" Natsu asked
"Yeah, me too, Lucy" Happy added
"It's okay you guys, I've had my time to process my moms death and I'm finally happy I decided to leave and go off on my own. It hasn't been easy but I have a plan. I'm actually on a journey of my own, I will become the greatest celestial wizard and join the best guild in Fiore, Fairy Tail. It's been my dream since I was small. Now I'm making my way to Magnolia hoping to make my dream a reality." She said tearing up a bit but never letting that tear fall. She hadn't opened up to anyone about her plans. It felt great.
"Fairy Tail, huh" Natsu said, sharing a look with Happy. Lucy took note at the exchange. Was there something wrong with that guild? She was sure they were number one.
"Well Lucy," Natsu interrupted her train of thoughts. "It just so happens that Happy and I are proud members of Fairy Tail" he admitted showing her the emblem on his arm. And happy removing his pack to show her the emblem on his back.
Lucy's mouth dropped open " WAIT... you two are in Fairy Tail? That's amazing what magic do you use?" Lucy asked, getting really excited. "Do you have room for a celestial wizard in the guild?" She asked
"Yeah, you would fit right in, we could go on all sorts of adventures." He said
" Really, Natsu, you would go on adventures with me?"
"Sure, why not, you seem smart and put together I don't see any reason things wouldn't work out. Fairy Tail is more than just a guild, we're a family." Natsu said smiling
"Yeah, and with Natsu's fire dragon slayer magic there's nothing we can't handle" Happy added, fist pumping the air.
"Wow, you guys, I can't wait to be a part of the family." She smiled and then the tears started to fall.
They talked for a while longer before Lucy paid for their meal.
It was getting late in the day and Lucy was worried about where she would stay for the night.
"You guys wouldn't happen to have a hotel room by chance? I tried but they were all booked." She asked them feeling embarrassed by the situation.
"Sorry, we don't, but we have a tent and other camping supplies if you want to join us. We planned on hiking a few more miles before setting up camp Magnolia isn't too far from here."
Lucy agreed. At this point her dreams were coming true. She didn't need a hotel room as long as she wasn't alone. Plus she would save money. She was looking forward to the many adventures that she would have in the future.
…
Before the three new friends left the village, Lucy remembered the yacht party, she thought it would be fun to go and check out what was going down. Her curiosity got the best of her.
Natsu and Happy agreed to this as they were always up for anything. Especially if food was involved.
Lucy was able to find a reasonably priced shop to get a dress. She changed there and the three made their way to the boat launch.
" What kind of party do you think this is?" She wondered aloud.
" I don't know, but it seems only girls were invited," Natsu said, eyeing the line of young women waiting to board the yacht.
"Yeah, looks like you're right" she added, scoping their surroundings. Not one guy was in line. Who was this guy?!
"Natsu why don't you stay back and keep an eye on things from below. I'll investigate on board the ship, it's like our own little adventure as partners, though you still owe me your story, you too Happy, don't think I forgot about you too." She laughed and put her hand up to await a high five.
Natsu met her hand completing the gesture of companionship and smiled.
"Alright Lucy, I guess you're right, please be careful, something doesn't smell right, oh and I should mention something. I have really bad motion sickness." He admitted.
" Oh, now you tell me. Good thing you're not going aboard." She said sarcastically. Laughing again.
Natsu smiled , gave her a thumbs up and ran off with Happy.
…
On board the ship every passenger was female wearing some fancy gown. Lucy included. She was sporting a deep v line red spaghetti strap gown with a slit going up to her right thigh. She wore black heels and her hair in a beautiful French twist.
She knew she looked good and she was sure she saw Natsu looking at her once or twice. She thought it was cute. She didn't feel threatened by him at all. In fact she kind of liked him.
She continued on board looking for something to drink when she was caught off guard by the host himself.
"Hey, you made it, I was hoping you would. You were the most beautiful among them all in the crowd earlier. " Said Salamander, he was wearing a captain's hat and a white suit.
Lucy blushed at his comment. She knew it was only a rouse. What was he up too?
"Why thank you, some party you're throwing. " She said, giving a crooked smile.
"Yes, I do throw the best parties, would you care for a drink?" he asked
"Sure, why not" she said following him as he led them through the sea of women.
She received menacing stares as she was the one to be chosen for a private drink in the captain's quarters.
"So tell me what brings you here?" he asked, handing her a cup with red liquid.
She couldn't tell this guy too much. She brought the cup up her mouth about to take a drink when, 'CRASH' something was happening from above. Dust and debris fell from the ceiling. Lucy dropped her glass and red liquid and shards went everywhere.
"LUCY" she heard his voice yell from above.
Natsu she thought. Why would he be on board so soon? They had a plan unless he found something out.
Just then the door blew across the room, smoke filled in. Lucy felt heat rage around her. She saw Natsu burst into the room, hands in the air raging with fire. She then remembered that he used fire magic.
"Lucy, I found you, these guys are her to kidnap you and all the women on board. They plan to enslave and sell you all off to the highest bidder, and that's not all, they are posing as members of FAIRY TAIL!" He told her, he looked like he was ready to explode. She was glad she didn't take that drink, that could have been a potion.
Looking out the door she saw girls lying on the floor, passed out. She looked at Natsu. They had to do something!
Pulling her keys from her garter belt, they both had that look in their eyes, it was time for battle. Lucy had never summoned a spirit to fight for her. The adrenaline she felt was unreal. Grabbing one of her gold keys she shouted.
"I summon you, open gate of the golden bull, Taurus." she waved the key in a spark of light and a puff of smoke, a giant buff cow man holding a giant axe stood before them.
"Why helloooo there, Lucy my dear, what can I dooo for yoouuu?!" he said smiling at his key holder.
"Taurus, these are bad men doing bad things to beautiful girls, teach them a lesson." She said, Taurus laughed and raised his axe and ran at the imposter, "Anything for you Lucy, maybe when I am through you can give me a smooooooch" he said taking a swing at the fake salamander.
She palmed her forehead "Not now Taurus, just kick his ass" she yelled out
Natsu was impressed with the celestial mage, she seemed to be holding her own. And what a spirit she had. He couldn't let her have all the fun, just then the yacht started moving. Natsu dropped like a hot potato. Motion sickness. He was totally useless.
Lucy and Taurus managed to take out every bad guy in the room. Just in time too, Taurus' time was up. "Thanks Taurus, you did great" She said
"Anytime, see you sooon." he said right before he disappeared.
Lucy tied everyone's hands up making sure no one could escape. She then went over to Natsu who was lying helpless on the ground.
"What am I going to do with you?" a voice yelled out behind Lucy, she turned around only to be grabbed by a huge man, he must have been one of the followers. "LET ME GO" She yelled, trying to get out of his grasps.
He was too strong. She wasn't able to grab her keys, she was totally useless being overpowered. He was dragging her out to the main deck.
Natsu looked after her, feeling helpless that he couldn't save her, he tried to take deep breaths but he was sure to vomit if he moved.
Happy was above watching as the henchman tossed Lucy overboard. He nosedived and caught her just in time.
"Thanks, Happy, I thought I was a goner.'' she said wiping the sweat that didn't exist off her forehead.
"We gotta rescue Natsu and those girls Happy, but how?" She said putting her hand to her thigh to grab her keys, she had one idea but wasn't sure how it was going to go. But she didn't have time to think it through.
"Happy, I think I have an idea, do you think you can get us closer to the yacht?"
"AYE" said the blue cat
They flew low enough to be out of sight. Lucy grabbed her strongest spirit. And put the key in the water.
"OPEN GATE OF THE WATER BEARER, AQUARIUS" she yelled out. She knew Aquarius didn't like to be bothered but she needed her help.
"What do you want this time, I told you to never summon me!" said a loud annoyed female voice.
Before her and Happy was the ever so beautiful and impatient Aquarius, one of her few zodiac spirits, and her strongest.
"WOW, FISH" Happy said with wide eyes and drooling over the mermaid.
"Sorry Aquarius, I need your help, do your thing, this yacht is holding girls and my friend hostage." Lucy said pointing at the boat in the water.
"Hey Lucy, do you have a boyfriend yet?" she asked, ignoring Lucy's command.
Lucy looked down in irritation, why did she have to be so mean.
"I didn't think so, I can tell by the look on your face."
"Would you save it, please just help me out." Lucy rang out
"Fine" she scoffed, raising her hands into the air summoning her power, water started to swirl and the wind picked up causing Happy and Lucy to fall into the water, they both cried out as they created a splash.
On board the yacht, the man had untied his leader and they managed to tie up Natsu, unaware of what was going down in front of them. The yacht started to rock violently.
"What's going on? There was no storm in the forecast." said the imposter going out to the main deck to check out the surroundings.
"Uh, Captain, look!" one of his men cried out.
He turned around to see a giant wave about to crash down around them.
They all screamed and ducked for cover. The wave caused the ship to move towards the dock.
Happy and Lucy were able to get back to land quickly thanks to Happy's flying ability. They waited for everything to calm down before they ran over to the large boat.
Once things were calm, Aqurarius appeared before her key holder, "Hey, don't summon me for a while, blondie." she said
"Okay Aquarius, thanks for your help." Lucy said, trying to sound sincere.
"Whatever, I gotta date with my new boyfriend." she said with a smirk and she was gone.
…
Once things were still, Natsu was able to get out of his bind. Boy, was he angry, not only were they imposters, they managed to hurt his friend, that's unforgivable.
"NOW I'M ALL FIRED UP" Natsu yelled, getting the attention of everyone on board.
"Wait, he was tied up! What happened?" said the fake salamander
Natsu jumped up and with a fist of flames Natsu yelled out " FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST!"
Colliding his fist to the imposter's face all the others started to charge, using all types of magic.
Natsu was too quick for them, using attack after attack, he was able to knock out the enemy.
Lucy and Happy watched from below, they were on their way to help when they heard Natsu's voice ring in their ears and a few explosions.
…
Out of nowhere Natsu appeared a little shaken up, a few bumps and bruises but seemed alright.
"Hey, Lucy, Happy, you guys okay?" He asked
"Yeah, we both are," Lucy responded.
Just then they heard the voices of enforcements. Natsu, knowing from experience, grabbed Lucy's hand and started running.
"We gotta get out of here, don't need to cause anymore chaos, and we definitely don't want to get caught" he said laughing through a smile. Lucy returned the smile in agreement and let him lead the way out of sight running hand in hand.
"Let's get you to Fairy Tail"
…
The trio made it safely out of town, it was dark and Lucy was exhausted, that was the first time she had ever summoned two spirits in the same day, she was going to need to exercise her magic and learn more about being a celestial wizard. She was beat.
Natsu and Lucy walked side by side while Natsu held the sleeping Happy in his arms.
"Hey Lucy" Natsu said
"Yeah"
"Magnolia is only a few more miles from here, do you want to continue or camp for the night?" he asked her.
"Umm I guess we could continue, it's not too late, just dark and a little chilly. " she told the dragon slayer.
"Alright, If you want my house is on the outskirts of town you can stay with me for the night"
Natsu has a house? She thought, does he live alone, is she okay with staying at a boys house. She did need a place to stay and Natsu seemed willing to help her out. What could go wrong?
"Sure Natsu, thanks, I promise to not be a burden." she said.
The two walked in silence for a while before Lucy remembered something.
"Hey Natsu, you still owe me your story."
He laughed, "Oh yeah, I do, don't I" he said before clearing his throat.
"Well, I was raised by my father Igneel, he's the one who taught me dragon slayer magic. He told me I would become a great wizard one day. He taught me to read and write too. But he disappeared on July 7,777. I've been looking for him ever since."
"Natsu, I'm sorry to hear that, I'm sure you'll find him one day, I'll even help you on your journey." she said hugging her arms to her chest. "When did you join Fairy Tail?"
"Not long after Igneel's disappearance, Makarov, the guild's master found me and invited me to join the guild. That's why Fairy Tail is the best, everyone has a story and we come together like a giant family." He said truthfully.
Lucy teared up a bit, it's all she ever wanted in a guild. She couldn't wait to be a part of it and meet everyone.
They talked and shared stories until they finally arrived.
"Welcome to Magnolia, Lucy!" Natsu said gesturing to the town in front of them. It was dark so only the moonlight lit the town. Still, it was beautiful.
I finally made it. I can't believe it . "Thank you Natsu, for everything, I guess it was fate that I ran into you." She said with a giggle.
"I guess so" he smiled back at her.
"I don't live too far from here, follow me." He took them down an off beaten path still holding the sleeping feline.
Lucy noticed that Natsu was leading them into the woods, he really does live on the outskirts of town doesn't he? she thought. I feel like I should be concerned about this but I'm not. She played different scenarios through her head until she was stopped by running into Natsu.
"Welcome to my home,"
Lucy looked around and there was a little path leading to a cute log house. She followed Natsu inside. Using his fire magic he lit a few candles lighting up the place. She could tell a boy definitely lived here.
It wasn't terribly messy and she noticed he didn't have much. It was small but seemed to be fitting for him.
Natsu put Happy to bed in the hammock that was hanging up in the living room. Lucy took the opportunity to look around. The living room and a kitchen were the first things that you see when you walk in. Then there was a bathroom and a bedroom. Furnished with the basics.
He probably didn't spend much time at home she figured. "Natsu, your home is so tiny and cute, I can't wait to see everything in the daylight," she whispered.
"Yeah, you're gonna love it." he told her going to a closet in the living room and pulling out sheets and a blanket.
He went to the bedroom and when he came back he put a wadded up pile on the ground next to the couch that was in the living room.
"I changed the sheets so you can sleep in my bed tonight, I'll take the couch." He said.
"Are you sure, I don't mind the couch, I know I would want to sleep in my own bed." Lucy admitted
"No, you're my guest it's okay, I insist. Please make yourself at home."
"Oh okay, thank you" she dropped her things and wrapped her arms around the dragon slayer, he returned the hug. "You're welcome" The hug didn't last long but it was nice, he smelled good and he was warm.
Lucy grabbed her things and went to the bedroom. She changed her clothes and grabbed a few things before going to the bathroom to do her nightly routine.
She came out of the bathroom to see Natsu had changed into shorts and a t-shirt and was sitting on the couch looking at a book. She could see he was in amazing shape, she was definitely going to need to get stronger and form better habits. Working on her endurance was at the top of the list. Maybe he could help.
"Watcha reading" she asked.
He looked up at her, widening his eyes, she was in a tank top and booty shorts showing off skin he hadn't seen on her before. He looked down at the book in his hands. He never spent time reading but he knew she did and he had a few books so he thought he would start.
"Oh, I just started this one, It's actually a book about Magnolia, I think you would really like it. It was a gift from the guild." Lucy was intrigued. Of course she was interested; she didn't travel all this way to learn nothing about her new home.
"Mind if I sit down?" she asked, he nodded in response "I would love to read that book when you're done." she said, taking a seat right next to him. Shoulders barely touching. She pulled her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them resting her head on her knees.
The young mage sighed. For the first time she felt relaxed, content, inspired.
"What's with the sigh"
"Oh, it's nothing, I'm just really happy, I finally feel like I can breathe." She admitted.
Natsu smiled. "Good, I don't want you to ever feel uncomfortable."
Lucy and Natsu talked for a few hours before the blonde found herself nodding off.
"I guess I should go to bed. We could talk all night but I really need to get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow." She got up to get a glass of water and went to Natsu's bedroom.
"Goodnight, Natsu." She said before entering the room.
"Goodnight, Lucy"
The bed was so comfortable and smelled like him. He might have changed the sheets but he didn't change the pillow. She curled up and passed out.
