Morning came and Lucy opened her eyes almost forgetting where she was. In the light she could see Natsu's bedroom was plain. A bed, a dresser, a basket of clothes. She stretched out her arms and yawned.
She got up and made the bed before leaving the room. She didn't want to wake Natsu or Happy. Not long after she tidied up her mess she heard motion out in the living room. She took that as her que to exit.
Natsu was making coffee. He was still in his shorts and shirt. He was sporting some crazy bedhead. Come to think of it she didn't even know what she looked like at the moment. She hurried to the bathroom before he noticed she was up and out.
Lucky for her, no bedhead. She brushed her teeth and splashed her face with water.
Natsu had coffee made by the time she was out.
"Morning, how'd you sleep?" He asked, pouring two cups of coffee.
"Morning, I slept well, thanks. Your bed is super comfortable." She said grabbing the cup he offered.
She loved coffee but she didn't get to drink it often. Her father always said caffeine was bad for young ladies.
Sniffing the coffee and taking a sip. It smelled amazing but tasted even better.
"Mmm, I love coffee." Lucy said, taking another sip.
"Glad you like it. So I was thinking since it's still early after coffee we can get ready and I can show you around town. I'm thinking we should get to the guild at noon?" He knew all the important people that Lucy should meet should be there around noon. He explained the plan for the rest of the day. Ending with watching the sunset back at his house. Lucy agreed to the plan.

Once in town Lucy was in awe. She loved it. Every little part was perfect. She loved all the architecture of the town, how vibrant everything was. She couldn't wait to explore every shop and restaurant.
Natsu loved watching her as she took in the sights of the town. Oohing and awing at every shop, house, animal they went past.
On their way to the guild Lucy noticed a for rent sign outside one of the buildings. It was a studio apartment with a private full bathroom for 70,000 jewel. She could afford that.
" Hey Natsu what do you think about this place? It's in a perfect location. Should we check it out?" She asked going up the steps to get more information.
"Sure, we are about half way from the guild and my place, plus all the shopping around you." He said with a smile.
Lucy entered the building. It was older but well taken care of. The landlord's office was to the right. She knocked on the door.
"Mmm can I help you?" Said an older women
"Yes, hi, my name is Lucy and I saw the sign about the open room?" She said twirling a lock of hair.
"Mmm yes, the apartment is available the first of the month. 70,000 jewel a month for rent and 15,000 holds your spot. Do you want to see it" she said, crossing her arms.
Lucy could tell she was a bit cranky and would probably cause her trouble later down the road. Natsu was standing back letting her do her thing.
The landlady led them upstairs to the third floor. And then down the hall stopping in front of room 314 she opened it. "Here, lock up and bring the key back once you've made your decision." She said huffing and puffing as she left them to check out the apartment.
"Well she seems great," Lucy said under her breath.
"Heard that, " said Natsu.
"Huh" Lucy said
"Being a dragon Slayer I have a better sense of smell and hearing." He smirked and walked past her into the room. She rolled her eyes and followed him in.
It was a good size. Lots of windows, lots of storage in the kitchen. The bathroom was to die for it had the largest tub she had ever seen. Even the one from home didn't compare.
"Natsu, I gotta have this place. Do you think I could stay with you for two weeks until it becomes available?" She asked, still in awe over the apartment. She was already planning where things would go. She would need to start working. She doesn't even have a bed. Lucky for her. This place had all the appliances. Even a laundry station.
"Sure, you can stay as long as you need." He said watching her walk around the apartment a few more times. "Looks like we are going to need to start going on jobs so you can pay that rent."
"Yeah, no kidding. Luckily I have a little saved up. Just enough to cover the move in fee." She said looking into her bag and grabbing her wallet.
"I'm going to go talk to the landlady about the apartment, let's lock up and go."

Lucy was told to come back with first month rent in two weeks. Then she'll get the keys to her very first apartment. She couldn't wait.
The walk to the guild wasn't far from her soon to be new place. Which would serve her well on late nights. Arriving in front of the guild the trio stopped outside the door.
"You ready, Lucy?" Natsu asked with a grin on his face.
"Ready as I'll ever be" she said, the nerves were starting to catch up to her. She was so excited but what if she didn't click with anyone? What if the jobs are too much to handle? She reminded herself to breathe. This was her dream. She finally made it.
Pushing open the guild doors Natsu said "Welcome to Fairy Tail!"
Entering the guild she felt perfectly at home. All the nerves were gone. It was exactly how she imagined it. It was huge. There were tables and chairs. A karaoke stage and a bar. There was a balcony and the entire place was filled with wizards of all ages.
Taking in her surroundings she found herself leaning into Natsu. "This place is amazing, I can't wait to meet everyone. "
The two laughed, Happy took off, and Natus led Lucy deeper into the guild. There were so many friends for her to meet.
"Natsu, you're back" a lovely voice chimed from the bar.
"Oh hey Mira, have you seen Gramps?" he hollered back.
"He's with the counsel right now," she said, cleaning a glass before setting it down. "and who is your lovely companion"
Lucy was star struck. Was she really in the presence of the one and only top model Mirajane from Sorcerer Weekly?
Natsu walked Lucy over to the bar. "Lucy, meet Mira, you two will have a lot in common." He said before leaving the two alone.
"Hi, Lucy, it's nice you meet you. Have you come to join our guild?" She said smiling at the blonde girl in front of her.
"Yes, I have. It's been my dream since I was small to join Fairy Tail. I use celestial magic." Lucy admitted to her celebrity icon.
"So you're a celestial wizard, that's wonderful we don't have anyone is our guild who does that sort of magic, it's rare to meet a celestial wizard." Mira told her while she started mixing a drink.
"That's what Natsu told me." Lucy said.
"So how did you and the hot head meet anyway?"
"Well, isn't that a story." Lucy said laughing.
"Well, I want to hear all about it." Mira put the glass in front of her.
Lucy took a sip "mmm this is really good" she said, Mira smiled and Lucy began her story of meeting Natsu. She backed up and explained leaving home in short detail.
Once she finished they both chatted about Natsu and how excited she was to have another girl become part of the guild.
"So where do you want your emblem?" Mira asked Lucy, pulling out a large magic stamp.
Wait, was she a guild member? All she did was show up with Natsu and tell her life's story. She also never had much thought to where she would put her emblem.
Then it dawned on her. She held out her hand to Mira. "Right here on my hand. Since I'm a celestial wizard it makes sense, right? Also can anyone just join? I feel like I didn't do anything to earn my place yet?" Lucy said, still holding her hand out.
Mira giggled, "Not just anyone, you came with Natsu and he wouldn't just bring anyone to the guild. I'm kind of the guild master's right hand man, well, woman I take charge when he's not around. I'm sure he will be thrilled to meet a new member of the family." Mira spoke honesty and placed the stamp to Lucy's flesh. A small flash of light and she was an official Fairy Tail member.
"OH YEAH" Lucy fist pumped the air exposing her emblem. She was psyched. She could wait to show it off to everyone.

Meanwhile, Natsu found Happy sitting at a table gnawing on a fish. "Hey Happy, looks like Lucy and Mira are hitting it off" he said
"Yeah, looks like it," said the feline.
"HEY Natsu" called out a male voice
The dragon Slayer turned around to see none other than his rival, Gray.
"What do you want Gray, you tryna pick a fight with me?!" he yelled as he rose from his seat pulling up his sleeve and igniting fire to his hand.
"Oh, you know I'll kick your ass, flame brain" Gray taunted his guild mate.
"Show me whatcha got, ice boy, now I'm all fired up"
The two rivals begin to brawl right in the center of the guild hall capturing the attention of everyone. They're actions caused others to join in and brawl with eachother.
Capturing the attention of Lucy, who was caught off guard by the sudden shift in atmosphere.
"Shouldn't we stop them?" Lucy said in a panic.
Mira looked at the girl and giggled, "oh it will be fine, this kind of thing happens on a daily basis."
"What?! You can't be serious…" She was concerned for her safety, she wasn't a fighter, she couldn't afford to bruise her beautiful face just for the sake of being the strongest.
She watched the sudden brawl against many of the members, as crazy as it was and as concerned Lucy was for her life she took note. Watching them all laugh and fight made her want to become strong enough to handle a legit battle. She couldn't always rely on her spirits to rescue her.
Her only weapons were her celestial spirits, her whip and her mind.
"CHILDREN, that is enough fighting for one day" everyone including Lucy turned around to see a short old man with a mustache and a silly hat standing in the doorway.
"Is this anyway to treat your guild? Look around you, this place is a mess, clean up and stop this nonsense. I just came back from the counsel and I got a stern talking to about all your recent behavior on jobs. You all know the rules. And with rules come consequences." He paused. He had managed to make his way through the guild to the second story. Standing above and before everyone.
Natsu had found Lucy in the crowd. "That's Master Makarov, Fairy Tail's guild master, " he whispered into her ear
"But screw the rules" the master said with a smile and displaying a peace sign to the crowd " following rules won't make Fairy Tail the number one guild in Fiore" the whole guild clapped and cheered.
'Wow, this is truly one amazing guild' Lucy thought, being a part of something amazing, a little crazy but magical, she felt like she finally arrived home. If only her mother could see her now. She missed her greatly each day.
Natsu put an arm around Lucy's shoulders smiling at her, she smiled back. "Ready to meet some more friends?" he asked
"Yeah, there's a lot of awesome people, you're gonna love." Happy chimed in.
Lucy nodded and once things calmed down a bit they walked over to what she believed was 'Natsu's table'.
At the table she noticed the boy that Natsu was sparring with earlier, 'Wait, what happened to his clothes' she would ask Natsu about that later. Two guys were talking at the end of the table one was tall and buff with spiky hair and the other was older but they seemed to be in deep conversation. There were two girls as well. A blue haired girl with her nose stuck in a book and the other was sitting on the table drinking a large beer.
"Hey, everyone, meet Fairy Tail's newest member, Lucy." Natsu introduced her to the group.
"Hi Lucy, it's so nice to meet you, I'm Levy, I use script magic." the blue haired girl said looking up from her book. Two guys came up behind her. "These two are Jet and Droy, we are team Shadow Gear."
"Hi everyone, I use Celestial magic, do you mind if i asked what you're reading Levy?" Lucy smiled at the team. She was glad that there was a bookworm in the guild.
"Oh, do you love to read? This is a good one, it's a romance novel, you would love it."
Lucy sat down hoping to learn more about the others as well. She liked Levy they would become fast friends. "You'll have to lend it to me once you are finished, I love me a good romance."
Natsu sat next to Lucy and joined in on the conversation.
"Well, I guess I'll go next, I'm Gray and I'm an ice make wizard." said the shirtless one, he held out his hand and made an ice replica of the fairy tail emblem. 'So cool'
"I'm Cana, I like to drink and drink an…" the girl fell to the ground. Lucy stood about to go over to help her when she sat up and started to drink again. She definitely would need to watch herself around her, Lucy didn't drink often but she could get in real trouble with her.
She met a few others, sharing what type of magic they used and how they were glad she was a part of the guild. She knew there were so many others she would meet but many of the guild members had left on jobs and or went out for the day.
Lucy was curious about how jobs worked; it was just her and Natsu left at the table now. Happy was building something out of cards. "So Natsu, when can we take a job? How does it all work?"
"Oh yeah, come with me." He took them over to a giant board at one end of the guild. It was covered in flyers, some read REWARD others, HELP WANTED.
"This is the job board, when you are ready to take on a job you come to this job board and pick whatever sparks your interest or how much money you need. Some are easy, some are hard, but the real challenging ones are up on the second story. S class wizards are the only ones allowed to go up there and accept those quests." He explained the whole process to her.
Lucy looked at the board, she was searching for something that wouldn't be too hard and would pay for food and rent and still be enough to split with her partner. Yard work, construction help, hmm what could her and her spirits handle.
"What about this one," Natsu ripped down a flyer and handed it to the blonde mage.
She looked it over a few times. It read:
Treasure hunt
150,00 jewel reward
Help the museum of Bel aloo find a lost artifact
Acquire in person for more information
"This will be the perfect first job" She cheered
Mira approved the job for the three of them, they will meet with the museum manager at noon tomorrow.
"Why don't we head home, we can make some dinner and prep for our journey tomorrow." Natsu said
"Sounds perfect" Lucy agreed, what should she even bring, what would she wear? Would they be gone for the day or would it be over night. These are the real questions.
On their way out they ran into the Master of the guild.
"Hi, Gramps, have you had the chance to meet Lucy, our newest member?" Natsu asked
"No, I don't believe we have, it's very nice to meet you, Mira told me we got a new member today and that you are a celestial wizard at that. We are lucky to have you. Welcome to the family. If there is anything you need don't hesitate to ask." He smiled and shook her hand.
"Thank you, I already feel a part of the family." she said blushing. She truly did feel at home. This was her life now. No one could get in her way.

After leaving the guild they stopped by a nearby market and picked up a few groceries. Walking past Lucy's new apartment and back to Natsu's house. It took all of 15 minutes. Not bad if you ask me.
Back at Natsu's it was still light out so she could really take a look at his tiny log cabin in the woods. She didn't realize what an amazing view he had. His house was at the top of a hill overlooking the town and you can see the guild hall in the center at the other end of town. It was absolutely amazing. After a few minutes she then realized she was the only one outside.
Walking down the path to the door she could hear Happy teasing Natsu about something. Laughing herself, she went inside. Lucy put the groceries away while Natsu tidied up the house a little bit more. Dinner was started and the three ate, drank, and made small conversation.
"What was up with Gray and being almost naked? Is that a normal thing for him?" Lucy asked
Happy laughed while Natsu replied, "That guy is always stripping down, sometimes he doesn't even realize it."
"Hmm, well, he should learn to keep his clothes on."
"Aye, but good luck telling him that." Happy said
"But it seems that you got along with everyone today, just wait until you meet Erza, she's the greatest S class wizard. She can be a bit intense but I promise that the two of you will be great friends, plus she makes really yummy cakes." Natsu said.
"She sounds great, I can't wait to meet her. I never knew how great it was to be surrounded by people who care about you and actually want to get to know you." she looked down at her plate, she had never had a true friend and in 24 hours she had a guild full and her list is only growing.
After the kitchen and was clean Lucy had decided to take a bath. She grabbed clean pajamas and started running the water. She looked in the mirror at herself for a long time until the bath water was full. She quickly undressed and sunk into the hot water.
It felt nice to bathe, it had been a few days and she usually bathed everyday. The water was the perfect temperature. She pondered her day from all her new friends she made to finding an apartment. Plus she was going on her very first job tomorrow. Which reminded her she would need to pack for their trip and ask Natsu if there's anything they should bring.
She sat in the bath until it ran cold. She got out, got dressed and put her hair up in a towel. She left the bathroom finding Happy already asleep on the couch and Natsu was reading in the hammock.
"Hey" she greeted him.
"Hey Luce" he greeted looking up from his book. He was determined to finish it so he could pass it along to his roommate.
He watched her walk to the bedroom and quickly return with her own book. They both read for a little. It was getting late and the sun was just about to set.
"Hey Lucy, want to see something beautiful?"
Without hesitation she nodded and followed Natsu out the door. Where was he taking her?
Just outside his home he led them to the edge that overlooked all of Magnolia . The sun was just setting behind the guild lighting the sky in pinks, purples and oranges. It was absolutely breathtaking.
"Wow" was all she said. The two stood in silence for a while until a shiver came over Lucy. Natsu noticed and pulled off his coat and put it around her shoulders.
"Thanks," she said, tugging at the jacket around her.
"No prob, I knew you would like the view. It's the perfect way to end a perfect day." Natsu said with a smile.
The two watched the sunset until the sun went down. Not long after Lucy yawned.
"I think it's time for some shut eye. I want to be well rested for tomorrow, is there anything we need to bring?" Lucy said rubbing her eyes and yawning again.
"Just the basics, food and water, anything you think you may need. I don't think it will be an overnight trip. Usually it will say in the description. It doesn't hurt to come prepared though" He assured her.
Inside Lucy went to the room and plopped down on the bed. She curled up under the covers and fell asleep.
Natsu laid out on the couch and stared up at the ceiling. Today was a great day he thought. He liked having Lucy around, she gave him light and inspiration.
He found himself in a deep sleep only to be woken up in the middle of the night from screaming.
