Morbius the Living Vampire
At night at Empire State University, Dr. Michael Morbius is working late at night as to finish his research. He uses the research he learned from Connors experiment with the lizard to create his own version of the formula that could cure him of his blood disease. He records his work to the camera.
"Day 240, these past months I've have managed to refine my formula thanks to the research that Connors has left behind. If my theory is right, the vampire bat's trait of hematophagy should allow me to take in the blood without any side effects. I'll shall proceed to human testing and what better guinea pig than myself. Let's pray this works." Morbius said.
Morbius managed to refine his formula in hopes that it'll cure him of his blood disease. He picked up the needle and inject it into his vein. The formula then began its work as Morbius felt his body is going through a small change.
"That should do it, now to test out my theory." Morbius said.
Morbius picked up a blood bag full of blood as he then injects it into his vein, but so far nothing has happened.
"Strange... I thought that was going to work." Morbius said.
Morbius pulls out the needle until he see drip of blood off the needle. He could smell the small drop of blood from his nose. He then dip his finger onto the drop and sees it in front of him. He began to feel a hunger from the blood as he tasted it and he craves for more. He removed the injector from the bag and drank down the blood as he began to drink it all in, later he finished it all off.
"That felt good." Morbius said.
He looked at the watch and checks the time.
"It's getting late, I'll have to finish this tomorrow. At least I feel good, let's hope that it stays that way." Morbius said.
Morbius puts away all his stuff and his camera. He shuts off the lights and lock the door.
The next day in the Afternoon at Midtown High, Gwen and Sally sees that gymnasium is being decorated for senior prom.
"Just a few days away until prom day comes, do you have a date?" Sally said.
"Oh uh, no." Gwen said.
"No? Gwen, this is prom, our last day to celebrate before graduation. I've already got a date." Sally said.
"Lucky you. Let me guess, you're going with Jason Ionello, aren't you?" Gwen said.
"How do you know?" Sally said.
"Because he had a thing for you since last year and I've spotted you two yesterday." Gwen smiled.
"Well... yeah, I'm going with Jason, he even got us tickets for senior prom, you, me, him, and one other person who's going as your date." Sally said.
"Sally, it's not that I want to go to prom because I want to, but I don't even have a date because of what I do." Gwen said.
"Gwen... why don't you ask Peter to prom?" Sally said.
"What? Are you crazy? No way." Gwen blushed.
"Hey ladies" Brad Davis said.
They turn around and see Brad Davis, Senior and Quarterback for Midtown Football team.
"Am I hearing that you don't have a date, doll?" Brad Davis said.
"Go away Brad." Gwen said.
"Aw... don't need to be like that. I'm just being nice. What are you gonna do? Go to the prom alone?" Brad Davis said.
"I'd rather date Flash Thompson than to date you." Gwen said.
"Your loss, Doll." Brad Davis said.
Gwen is about to walk away until Brad looks at Gwen's backside, specifically her rear.
"Gotta admit, smart is sexy. Especially right here." Brad Davis smiled.
Brad tries to slap her rear until Gwen's spider sense reacted and she turned and caught his wrist, as Brad Davis is surprised by her reaction time, he tries to yank his wrist off but Gwen is surprising strong, she's crushing a bit as not overdo it, Brad felt the pain.
"Try touching me again and you won't be able to hold a football... got it Brad?" Gwen said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Brad Davis pleaded.
"Good." Gwen smiled.
Gwen let's go as Brad still felt hurt from her strong grip on his wrist.
"I'd put some ice on that." Gwen said.
Gwen and Sally walked away as Brad is still feeling the pain on his wrist.
At Empire State University, Dr. Michael Morbius is still teaching biochemistry as Peter and Harry listen. His class is currently covering on hematophagy.
"Can anyone tell me what hematophagy?" Morbius said.
Peter raised his hand as Morbius sees.
"Mr. Parker." Morbius said.
"It's a practice that certain animals that feeds on blood." Peter said.
"Correct, certain species of animals such as vampire bats and mosquitoes require blood from a living being to survive because they couldn't produce blood of their own. Even a spider can feed blood off or juice as they call it off of another insect. What could happen if one day human kind finds another being that's capable of draining blood of them. What if what they really need is just blood even if it's not in human." Morbius said.
One of the students in the class got a paper cut and started to bleed from the finger. Morbius smells fresh blood in the air as he began to have the urge to feed again. Morbius then tries to keep it under control as his hunger continues to grow, the class sees him acting strange. He then hears hearts beating for some reason.
"Uh... Dr. Morbius... are you alright?" Harry said.
"Yeah... just didn't get much sleep last night." Morbius said.
The bell rang as class is over for the day.
"Okay, class is over. Be sure to study for a test next week." Morbius said.
Morbius left the class before anyone else did. He arrived outside as he sees the sun shining on him as he began to feel sensitive to sunlight. He continues to feel hungry as he walks to his lab.
He looked at the mirror as he see his eye lenses turning a bit red and he opened his mouth to see fangs growing.
"What is happening to me?" Morbius said.
He went to the fridge as he pulled out a blood bag and began to drink it downs. He drank enough from the bag but his hunger continues to grow. He can't deny that he's changing into something else, something not normal.
Peter and Mary Jane are at the Coffee Bean as they see Gwen Stacy coming in.
"Hey Gwen, we got you that cinnamon latte you love." Mary Jane said.
"Thanks, you're a lifesaver." Gwen said.
"So how was school?" Peter said.
"It was great, but..." Gwen said.
"But what?" Peter said.
"It's nothing." Gwen said.
"Come on Gwen, spill it out." Mary Jane said.
"There's this senior prom happening Friday night, Sally gave me tickets for me and my date but..." Gwen said.
"Let me guess, you don't have one." Mary Jane said.
"Yeah... it's not like I'm ever going with my responsibilities as Ghost-Spider." Gwen said.
"Hey, no way you're missing prom night, this is like a rite of passage. You're going... okay." Mary Jane said.
"Thanks for the prep talk Mary Jane but i like said, I don't have a date." Gwen said.
Gwen went over to add nutmeg to her latte as Mary Jane is giving Peter the look.
"What?" Peter said.
"Ask her." Mary Jane whispered.
"Ask her what?" Peter said.
Mary Jane kept giving Peter the look until he understands what she's asking of him.
"Okay... got it." Peter said.
Peter got up and walked up to Gwen who is adding nutmeg to her latte.
"Listen Gwen, if you want... I can..." Peter said.
"What?" Gwen said.
"Would... would you like to go to the prom with me?" Peter said.
Gwen is surprised that Peter is asking to take her to prom.
"Peter... You don't have to do this." Gwen said.
"No, I want to. This could be the best night of your life, trust me." Peter said.
"Well... okay, then I'll be honored if you take me to prom." Gwen smiled.
"Great." Peter smiled.
"Great." Gwen smiled.
"Ah... the internship is happening soon. Shall we?" Peter said.
"Sure." Gwen said.
"Later MJ." Peter said.
"Later Tiger." Mary Jane said.
Mary Jane watched as Peter and Gwen walks out for their internship at ESU labs.
Later as the sunsets, Peter and Gwen arrived at the lab and see no one is here.
"Dr. Morbius!... Dr. Morbius, is me and Gwen!" Peter said.
"He's not here." Gwen said.
"Strange? He's usually here working late. But lately he's been acting weird." Peter said.
"Weird how?" Gwen said.
"In class, he looked like he's dealing with something. It could be the blood disease." Peter said.
"Then he must've went home to recover." Gwen said.
"Yeah, that could be it." Peter said.
Peter and Gwen left the lab for the night.
At a nightclub nearby the university, a couple walks out after having a fun time.
"How do you feel?"
"Like I had too much to drink."
They past by an alley until they see someone in the shadow moaning in pain.
"Hey! Are you alright?"
"Hun-gry." Morbius said slowly.
"What?"
"Hungry." Morbius said.
"If you need money to buy food, I got five."
"No... not food... need..." Morbius said.
"Need what?"
The man gets closer to check on Morbius.
"Hey you don't look so good. Are you on drugs?"
Morbius turns around and bite his fangs down the man's neck as he starts to feed on blood. The man screamed in pain as Morbius is drinking blood. Morbius stopped feeding as he dropped the man and the woman screamed in fear as she saw Morbius. He looked like a vampire with pale white skin and red eyes.
She tries to run away until he moves fast and caught up to her. He was about to feed on her until he hears sirens coming. He pushed her off as he sped away. She then ran to her boyfriend and sees that he's still alive but drained. The police came by and sees a man drained of most of his blood.
At the Daily Bugle, Betty Brant is talking with Glory Grant, Jameson's secretary.
"How are things between you and Ned?" Glory said.
"It's been fine, though I feel a little guilty." Betty said.
"Why?" Glory said.
"I've... I've kept a secret from him about Peter." Betty said.
"What about Peter?" Glory said.
"He and I... we..." Betty hesitate.
"You and him... what?" Glory said.
Betty remained silent until she smiled as Glory figured out what Betty and Peter had something together.
"No! You and Parker... really?" Glory smiled.
"Yeah." Betty smiled.
"Get out!" Glory smiled.
"It happened one time, he came by my place last year and we were alone. It wasn't planned, it just happened." Betty said.
"Damn! What was it like?" Glory said.
"He was surprisingly great, I can see now why Mary Jane is lucky to have him." Betty said.
Betty gossip about her one time sex with Peter Parker until Jameson came out of his office.
"Parker! Brant! My office!" Jameson said.
Betty sees Peter coming as they both entered the office and speak with Jameson.
"What is it, Jameson?" Betty said.
"There's been chatter about a creature that attacked a couple near ESU. The victim managed to survive but still in critical condition at the hospital. His girlfriend witnessed the crime and nearly got assaulted by this monster. I want you both to write the story and get me photos of this creature." Jameson said.
"We're on it." Betty said.
"Sure thing, JJ." Peter said.
"Great, now get out of here." Jameson said.
Peter and Betty left the office and go see the witnesses about this creature.
Later Peter and Betty are at the hospital to see victim still resting.
"How is he Doctor?" Peter said.
"He's stabilized, we were able to transfuse blood back into him. He suffered major blood loss, he's lucky to be alive."
"What caused it?" Betty said.
"Not sure, though the girlfriend saw the whole thing. She could tell you more."
Peter and Betty went to speak with the victim's girlfriend.
"Hi, my name is Betty Brant and this is Peter Parker, we're from the Daily Bugle. Could we ask you some questions please?" Betty said.
"Yeah, okay."
"Thank you. Now could you tell us what happened?" Betty said.
"You wouldn't believe me even if I told you."
"Try us." Betty said.
"Okay, me and my boyfriend were leaving this club until we see this stranger in the alley. He looked like he was in pain. My boyfriend went to check him out until he got attacked by this creature."
"What did the creature look like?" Betty said.
"It's gonna sound strange, but he looked like... a vampire."
Peter and Betty are surprised to hear that there is a vampire.
"A vampire?" Peter said.
"I'm being serious! I know what I saw!"
"Ok, please continue." Betty said.
"That vampire has his fangs on my boyfriend, draining blood until he saw me and I ran. I tried to flee as far as I can until he caught me. He was about to bite me until the police came by and scared him off. He was gone and I went back to see my boyfriend on the ground, drained of blood. Doctor say that he's lucky to be alive."
"I see, thank you for your time." Betty said.
The girlfriend left Peter and Betty after they finished questioning her.
"So now we have a vampire here in New York. When does this city ever stop having new supervillains." Betty said.
"The question to that is never. This world never seems to run out of super beings, good or bad." Peter said.
"Any chance you can let Spider-Man know?" Peter said.
"Yeah, in fact I'm sure he already knows." Peter said.
Peter now has a mysterious vampire to hunt for before it finds anymore victims to prey upon.
In the morning, Morbius woke up in his bed and reached the bathroom. He looked himself in the mirror and sees that he's back to normal. He's not all pale white and his eyes are normal.
"I'm... normal." Morbius said.
Morbius remembered last night he attacked someone in hunger and drained his blood. His latest experiment on himself cured him of his blood disease but had an unfortunate side effect. He became like a vampire bat that feeds on blood in order to survive.
He opened the blinds of his window and the sun shines on his face as he felt sensitive to sunlight.
"Ahhh... I still feel the effects of my experiment. I need to fix this as soon as possible." Morbius said.
Sometime after school, Gwen and Sally are shopping for prom dresses as they try on some dresses to find.
"So what do you think?" Sally said.
Sally came out dressed in blue prom dress.
"I'd say that it's your color. It's perfect for you." Sally said.
"Thanks, I'll take it. Now it's your turn." Sally said.
Gwen went inside the dressing room to try on a dress as she close the curtains.
"Can't believe that Peter asked you to prom." Sally said.
"Neither did I, though I think he's just trying to help me not to miss my last day at prom." Gwen said.
"Well he does know about how you feel for him, any chance he might start to feel the same way for you." Sally said.
"Not likely, he still has Mary Jane as his girlfriend, I'm just going to the prom as his date, not as his girlfriend." Gwen said.
Gwen came out of the dressing room and shows off the dress.
"What do you think?" Gwen said.
Sally sees Gwen dressed in a white prom dress, Gwen looked divine in Sally's eyes.
"You look divine." Sally said.
Gwen smiles. "I'll take it."
Gwen and Sally are all set for their senior prom.
Peter came by the lab to see if Morbius is back. Peter looked around and see a needle and a empty blood bag.
"Peter?" Morbius said.
Peter sees Morbius here looking normal, wearing sunglasses.
"Hey Dr. Morbius." Peter said.
"What are you doing here?" Morbius said.
"Me and Gwen came by yesterday but you weren't here." Peter said.
"Oh... sorry about that. I wasn't feeling well. Forgot to notify you both." Morbius said.
"Can I ask you something?" Peter said.
"Sure." Morbius said.
"How does make one prey of the bat?" Peter said.
"You don't, they're usually the top of their natural food chain." Morbius said.
"But they gotta have weaknesses?" Peter said.
"Why the sudden I interest in bat?" Morbius said.
"Oh... well there's rumors about a bat creature in New York feeding on the helpless." Peter said.
"Well they are sensitive to sunlight, they are blind but they do have a heightened sense of smell and can use echolocation to sense their surroundings." Morbius said.
"I see. But are they dangerous to anyone?" Peter said.
"Not necessarily, they are quite gentle creature but they can become dangerous if provoked." Morbius said.
Peter got everything he needed on vampire bats.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have some work to do." Morbius said.
"Of course." Peter said.
Peter left the lab as Morbius wants to work alone as to find a way to undo his experiment. He draws out blood and placed a sample on a microscope as he checks.
"Oh no. It's happening soon." Morbius said.
He then sees that it's about to be nighttime as he sees his hand turning white as the transformation is beginning again.
Later Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider continues to swing around the city as to find this vampire. They landed on a rooftop as they spent the whole night looking for the vampire but still no sight.
"Still no vampire." Spider-Man said.
"You really think that there is one?" Ghost-Spider said.
"Don't know, but either way we need to find it before it claims another victim to feed on." Spider-Man said.
"Then let's split up and cover more ground." Ghost-Spider said.
"Good idea, stay in touch." Spider-Man said.
"Will do, good luck." Ghost-Spider said.
"You too." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider split up as to find this vampire.
Later Betty Brant continues to snoop around ESU as to find clues. After that last attack, some people reported sightings of the vampire around the proximity of the university.
She arrived at the alley near the club where the crime happen. She checks the place and see the spot where the last crime happened. She wonders why Peter isn't working with her on this story.
"Where is Peter when you need him?" Betty said to herself.
She pulls out her phone and dialed Peter Parker.
"Hello?" Peter said.
"Peter, where are you? Aren't you supposed to be working on taking photos on this vampire?" Betty said.
"Sorry, I've got a school thing to work on." Peter said.
"It's always something with you, Peter." Betty said.
Betty then heard noises coming from the alley as she got worried.
"Peter, I heard something." Betty said.
"Where are you?" Peter said.
"I'm at the alley where the crime happen." Betty said.
"You're there alone? Betty, get out of there!" Peter said.
The vampire came out and surprised Betty as she ran out and dropped her phone.
"Betty, are you there? Betty!" Peter said.
Betty kept running as fast as she can until the vampire caught up with her.
"Got ya!" Morbius said.
Morbius jumped up high with Betty in his arms as they reached the rooftop. Betty took a sight at vampire and she got frightened.
"Let me go!" Betty yelled.
"I'm sorry... but I'm hungry." Morbius said.
"Please!" Betty pleaded.
Morbius is about to bite Betty until Spider-Man came in and kicked Morbius off the rooftop and rescues Betty.
"Spider-Man! How'd you know I was in danger?" Betty said
"A mutual friend of ours might've told me that you've gone from reporter to vampire hunter." Spider-Man jokes.
"Thank you." Betty smiled.
"You should go. He might come back." Spider-Man said.
Betty left the rooftop through the stairs as Spider-Man sensed the vampire coming in and jumped up.
"So you're the vampire I've been hearing about." Spider-Man said.
"You never should've stopped me, I was hungry." Morbius said.
The vampire turned out and showed himself to Spider-Man. He looked and sound like Michael Morbius.
"Morbius?" Spider-Man said.
"How do you know my name?" Morbius said.
"What happened to you?" Spider-Man said.
"This was an accident, but now all I feel is hunger and rage." Morbius said.
"You don't have to do this, I can help you." Spider-Man said.
"I don't need you help, I need blood!" Morbius said.
Morbius moved fast as Spider-Man reacted in time as he jumped up and webs up Morbius.
"Hey Dracula, no need to be violent! Don't make me go all Van Helsing!" Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man gets closer and see Morbius all webbed up and trapped.
"You know for a vampire, you sure don't do 'blah, blah, blah!'" Spider-Man jokes.
Spider-Man sees Morbius looking too weak as he lack enough blood in his body.
"You don't look so well... let me get you some help." Spider-Man said.
"I... i need blood!" Morbius yelled.
Morbius used enough of his strength left to break out of the web and charged at Spider-Man. He got Spider-Man trapped as he got caught off guard.
"Need blood!" Morbius said.
Morbius bite his fangs down on Spider-Man's neck and began to feed on blood. Spider-Man yelled out in pain as he's losing strength to fight back. Ghost-Spider came in and kicked Morbius off of Spider-Man. Morbius got back up as he sees Ghost-Spider in front of him.
"You!" Morbius said.
"Get away from him!" Ghost-Spider said.
"I'm already satisfied, you can have what's left of him!" Morbius said.
Morbius flees the scene as Ghost-Spider wants to chase after him until she sees Spider-Man lying on the ground. She decided to go and help him.
"Spider-Man? Spider-Man!" Ghost-Spider yelled.
She see that Spider-Man is weak and he's dying from major blood loss.
"I need to get you out of here!" Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider picked Spider-Man up and swings away with him.
At the apartment, Mary Jane is waiting as she knows that Peter and Gwen are out there searching for the vampire. She then hear noises coming from the bedroom. She went to the bedroom and sees Gwen with Peter who looked weak.
"He's needs help!" Gwen said.
Mary Jane went to help Gwen with Peter as they laid him on the bed and sees that he's not doing too well.
"What happened? Mary Jane said.
"He got attacked by the vampire and he's lost a lot of blood." Gwen said.
"My god, what do we do?" Mary Jane said.
"He needs a blood transfusion." Gwen said.
"Won't work." Peter said.
"Peter?" Mary Jane said.
"Won't work... can't take... normal blood." Peter said.
"What is he talking about?" Mary Jane said.
"His cells are mutated, his body can't intake normal blood." Gwen said.
"Great, so there's no one who's compatible." Mary Jane said.
Gwen then has an idea that could work.
"Wait, what blood type is he?" Gwen said.
"Uh... O negative!" Mary Jane said.
"Perfect!" Gwen said.
Gwen went to the bathroom and pulled out the first aid. She got a needle and a tube.
"What's perfect?" Mary Jane said.
"He and I are a match, my blood is mutated too, it can save him." Gwen said.
Gwen injected a needle into her veins as blood is being drawn into the tube and to the other needle. Gwen hold up Peter's hand as she's ready to inject.
"Let's hope this works." Gwen said.
Gwen injects the needle into Peter's vein as her blood is being transfused into him, enough to keep him alive. They look as Peter isn't responding.
"He's not responding!" Mary Jane said.
"Come on." Gwen said.
They continue to look at Peter as nothing is happening until he started to respond and opened his eyes.
"Peter! Peter! You're alright. Get some rest." Gwen said.
Peter closes his eyes as he sleeps again and rest as Gwen continues to deliver blood in him.
"You did it, you saved his life. Thank you." Mary Jane said.
Peter is lucky to have a partner like Gwen Stacy, he saved her life once and now she gets to save his.
Morning came as Peter opened his eyes and sees Gwen next to him resting her head on the bed as she sat on the chair. Peter got up and sees the tube that's stuck on her and himself.
"Gwen... Gwen." Peter said.
Gwen began to wake up as she noticed that is morning already. She still feels a little weak from the blood transfusion, she gave some of her blood to save Peter to keep him alive.
"It's it morning already?" Gwen said.
"Yeah... guessing your dad is wondering why you aren't at home." Peter said.
"Don't worry, I told him that I was sleeping over at Sally's for the night. Hopefully he's bought it." Gwen said.
"How are you feeling?" Peter said.
"A little drained. How about you?" Gwen said.
"I'm fine, thanks to you. You saved my life, thank you." Peter smiled.
"You would've done the same." Gwen said.
"Seriously, you're like an angel." Peter said.
Gwen blushed a bit as Peter said those words, Mary Jane came in and sees Peter and Gwen awake.
"Sorry, did I interrupt anything?" Mary Jane said.
"No, of course not." Gwen said.
"Yeah, what's up." Peter said.
"I've brought breakfast if you two are hungry." Mary Jane said.
"I could eat." Peter said.
"Yeah, me too." Gwen said.
Later Peter and Gwen are in the kitchen at the table eating breakfast that Mary Jane brought over. She sees them eating fast as they seemed hungry,
"You two sure can eat." Mary Jane said.
"Yeah, we need the energy we've lost." Peter said.
"So a vampire did this to you?" Mary Jane said.
"It wasn't a vampire... it was Morbius." Peter said.
Mary Jane and Gwen are shocked to hear that name.
"Morbius... as in your science professor Michael Morbius?" Mary Jane said.
"Yes, it's him." Peter said.
"How?" Gwen said.
"The lab... Morbius must've found Connors' research and used it to conduct his own experiment by splicing his DNA with that of a vampire bat in hopes of curing his blood disease... didn't work that way." Peter said.
"What is it about our teachers that became monsters, first Connors turned into the lizard and now Morbius is now a vampire." Gwen said.
"So how do we stop him. Use garlic or even a wooden stake?" Mary Jane said.
"He's not a mystical vampire, he's more living than dead, he was created by science." Peter said.
"Well the good news is that he has attacked anyone in these past hours." Gwen said.
"So he's nocturnal, we got until night time to figure out how to stop him." Peter said.
"Okay, but I gotta go. Got school to get to." Gwen said.
"Sure, thanks Gwen. I owe you one." Peter said.
Gwen smiled back as she left the apartment and head for school while Peter and Mary Jane figures out a way to stop Morbius.
In the afternoon, it's break time as Gwen is at school with her friend Sally.
"Thanks for covering for me." Gwen said.
"No problem, so how is Peter?" Sally said.
"He's recovered so fast thanks to the blood transfusion I gave him." Gwen said.
"That's good, I was getting worried that he might not be well enough for prom." Sally said.
"We might not make it to prom as long as that vampire is still out there." Gwen said.
"But you'll find a way to stop him, you and Peter." Sally said.
"I hope so." Gwen said.
Gwen had some doubts that she and Peter could stop Morbius given that he bested Spider-Man in combat and almost killed him if Ghost-Spider didn't intervened.
Sometime later at the Daily Bugle, Peter came by to check on Betty Brant.
"Hey Betty." Peter said.
"Peter, what brings you by?" Betty said.
"I wanted to check up on you after what happened last night." Peter said.
"Oh, yeah. I'm still a little shaken but I'm alright thanks to Spider-Man. Thank you for that." Betty said.
"You're welcome. So I've heard that you and Ned are..." Peter said.
"You've heard?" Betty said.
"Yeah, I've heard. You and Ned, is it getting serious?" Peter said.
"Yeah, it's looking that way. Though I haven't told him about us." Betty said.
"Us?" Peter said.
"You know... that moment." Betty said.
Peter figured out the moment she's talking about, that time that she and Peter both slept together.
"Oh! You mean..." Peter said.
"Yeah." Betty said.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to say anything. I just want you to be happy. That's all I've ever wanted." Peter said.
"Thank you Peter, for being a great friend." Betty smiled.
Betty hugged Peter but Ned was nearby and he sees Peter and Betty hugging one another. He began to wonder what kind of relationship they both share.
Later at night as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are now searching for Morbius again before he finds another victim.
"Are you sure that he'll strike again?" Ghost-Spider said.
"He still controlled by hunger and instinct, he fed on me last night so he'll need more blood." Spider-Man said.
"Let's hope that we can stop him this time." Ghost-Spider said.
"Me too." Spider-Man said,
They then hear a woman screaming.
"Looks like the vampire strikes back." Spider-Man said.
They head down to find an alley where Morbius has a woman in his arms an is about to feed until he got webbed. The woman got loose and sees Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider here. Spider-Man was able to place a camera at the scene.
"Go!" Spider-Man said.
The woman ran away as Morbius got freed from the webbing and sees the two spiders in front of him. Unknown to him, a camera is nearby and snapped a photo of Morbius.
"You again! You've interfered for the last time." Morbius said.
Morbius charged at them as they jumped and dodged his attack.
"I think we got him mad." Ghost-Spider said.
"What gave it away?" Spider-Man said.
"So how do we stop him?" Ghost-Spider said.
"I have an idea, follow me!" Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider swings away as Morbius chases after them.
They head back to the university as Morbius continues to chase. They arrived inside the lab as Morbius came inside and sees nothing.
"You think that you can hide from me?" Morbius said.
Morbius lets out a sound from his mouth as he uses echolocation around the lab. He then senses Spider-Man on the ceiling.
"There you are!" Morbius said.
"And we got you right where we want you. Now!" Spider-Man said.
Ghost-Spider activates the ultraviolet rays in the lab as it began to affect Morbius and starts to weaken him.
"Ahhh!" Morbius screamed.
"Don't fight it." Spider-Man said.
Morbius tries to run out of the lab until Spider-Man webs up the door, Ghost-Spider did the same. Morbius couldn't break free the webbing that stuck in the doors, he's trapped and only getting weaker.
"Stop! Please, stop!" Morbius yelled.
"I'm sorry Dr. Morbius." Spider-Man said.
The ultraviolet rays continues to work as Morbius feel unconscious and passed out. They finally stopped Morbius.
Later they are at the rooftop watching the police and S.H.I.E.L.D. about to take Morbius to the Raft. They see Betty at the scene talking with the detectives about what happened.
"Should've known that Betty couldn't resist a story. It's a good thing that I've got the photo of Morbius ready for tomorrow's headline." Spider-Man said.
"Yeah, this is quite a night." Ghost-Spider said.
"Looks like prom is still on schedule." Spider-Man said.
"You don't have to go if you don't want to." Ghost-Spider said.
"I'd said I'd go. I'm not back out." Spider-Man said.
The next day as the senior prom is about to begin. George Stacy reads the paper and sees Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider fighting Morbius.
"Okay dad, I'm all set." Gwen said.
Gwen came out of her room and dressed in her white prom dress and her hair is all nice too.
"Gwennie, you look absolutely stunning." George Stacy said.
"Thank you." Gwen smiled.
"Can't believe that my Princess is going to prom. You're almost close to graduating and about to celebrate your most important day of your life." George Stacy said.
The doorbell rang as George opens it and sees Peter Parker here all dressed in a suit.
"Hi Captain Stacy." Peter said.
"Come in and its George." George Stacy said.
"Thank you... George." Peter said.
Peter went inside and sees Gwen Stacy in a dress, he's surprised by how beautiful she looked.
"What?" Gwen smiled.
"Nothing... you're beautiful." Peter smiled.
Gwen blushed as Peter said those words.
"Ahh, here. I got you a corsage." Peter said.
Gwen opened the box and sees the corsage that Peter brought for her.
"It's beautiful." Gwen said.
"Here, allow me." Peter said.
Peter placed the corsage around her wrists.
"It's perfect, thank you." Gwen said.
"Sure... shall we?" Peter said
"Wait, I'd like to take a picture to remember this day." George Stacy said.
"Oh, sure." Peter said.
Peter and Gwen stands together with her arm around his as George pulls out his camera and aims.
"Okay, smile." George Stacy said.
Peter and Gwen smiled as George took the shot.
"Perfect, now you two have fun and Mr. Parker, be sure to bring her home at 10 PM or I'll have a unit to hunt you down." George Stacy said.
"Dad." Gwen gave him the look.
"Kidding, somewhat." George Stacy said.
Peter and Gwen smiled as they leave the apartment to go to her senior prom.
At Midtown high, the senior prom has began as students are enjoying the dance and the punch. Sally is there with her date Jason.
"This is so exciting Jason." Sally smiled.
"It sure is, I thought that your friend would show up." Jason said.
"She'll be here." Sally said.
Everyone in the room sees Gwen Stacy here and her date is Peter Parker, a former student of this school. They all notice how beautiful she is.
"I'd say that you've attracted a lot of heads." Peter said.
"Funny, I could say the same about the girls that are eyeballing you." Gwen said.
"Too bad I'm taken for the day." Peter said.
"Shall we." Gwen said.
"Ladies first." Peter said.
They reached the dance floor as music is being played. Peter and Gwen began to dance as Sally smiled, she's glad that Gwen gets to be with Peter Parker for the day.
"I'm glad that you're here." Gwen said.
"So am I, Gwen. So am I." Peter smiled.
Peter and Gwen continue to dance as they celebrate the most important day in Gwen's life.
