"We're back where we began," Jaica thought as she passed by three arguing generals. The First Order was once again falling in on itself as it struggled to find a new leader to continue it's stronghold on the galaxy. She knew quarreling was bound to happen, but this constant bickering both in and outside meetings was beginning to grate on her nerves.
"Perhaps it's time I put in for a transfer," she thought. She'd seen enough war as it was in the last decade; perhaps guiding troops on a smaller planet would be a nice change of pace. Protecting a planet from outside threats as opposed to waging wars in space? Maybe that could be less controversial and more meaningful in the long run.
One thing was certain, Jaica decided: At least she didn't have to deal with any more Force-sensitive clones.

The breeze from the ocean made it's way to shore, pushing loose strands of hair from the girl's face. She'd barely escaped the crumbling cavern with her life; probably wouldn't have if she hadn't pushed the mechanical human out of the way.
Vader. The Resistance. Fools, all of them. The Skywalker line had been tainted from the start, but the Palpatine's…they were something stronger, something more.
The clone walked amongst the ruins of the command center, sending small bolts of lightning on the metal as she trailed her fingers along the debris. She would bide her time in the shadows, gaining strength until the time came for her to meet Rey face-to-face once again.
The girl smiled. She looked forward to that day very, very much.

Once the Resistance had settled into a less frantic pace, Lando's final affairs were set in order. Among what was in his will, he'd bequeathed the Millennium Falcon to Chewbacca.
"Han had won it fair and square," Lando had written, "Or at least as fair as it could be when the two of us played Sabacc. Seems only right his co-pilot should have her in the end,"
Chewbacca had been grateful for the gesture, but as Rey and Ben prepared to venture into the galaxy to look for others who were Force-sensitive, the came to the two of them with a proposal.
"You want to give me the Falcon?" Ben asked incredulously.
Chewbacca nodded, explaining in Shyriiwook that it was his by birthright.
"I failed my father," Ben said. "I don't deserve it. You, his best friend, do,"
Chewbacca let out a grunt, explaining how Ben was no longer who he had been, and that Han Solo would be proud of the man he'd become. "We all fall," the wookie said in his native language, "Some harder than others. But it is our return to the light that is most meaningful in the end," Taking the deed to the ship out of his satchel, Chewbaca placed it in Ben's hands.
Staring at the parchment, Ben's eyes filled with tears. "Thank you,"
Rey looked from Chewbacca to Ben. Something unspoken had passed between them: an acknowledgement of forgiveness for Han's death, yet also a renowned recognition of friendship. It was an individualized beginning of peace the Resistance so desperately needed.
As Rey and Ben entered the Falcon with R2 to make their departure, Ben commented "It's been a long time since I've flown this,"
"Think you remember how?" Rey asked.
Ben grinned. "Are you kidding? I was driving this thing before I was old enough to apply for a pilot's license. Some things you learn and don't forget,"
Brushing against the set of gold dice that hung in the cockpit, Rey said, "All right then, I'll set our course for Canto Bight. Finn gave me enough information so that we should be able to find the child Leia talked about,"
"I'm still surprised Finn isn't joining us,"
"Poe has him on an assignment," Rey said, "Though he will have returned by the time we do,"
Rey was glad Finn was keeping busy, and this time around the mission was not only less dangerous, but also with Jannah. The Jedi had noticed the way he'd been looking at the newcomer. While Rey and Finn would always have a special place in each other's hearts, perhaps Jannah could one day be to her best friend what she could not.
Ben joined Rey at the helm and leaned on the dashboard. "What do you think we'll encounter out there?" he asked as he nodded at the sky.
Rey paused, her eyes now fixed on the blue above as well. "I'm not sure," she admitted, "But I guess that's the beauty of it. The potential the galaxy holds,"
Ben took her hand and held it in his. He didn't think he'd ever grow tired of doing this now that they were reunited. "Then let's face whatever it may bring together,"
Rey smiled. "Yes," she agreed as she gave his hand a squeeze, "Together,"

The End
