Mister Negative
Note: This chapter will introduce Mister Negative as the main antagonist of this whole story. This will also bring the dead of someone close to one of the heroes.
In China in the city of Hong Kong, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent named Jimmy Woo infiltrated an criminal organization that has been on the rise in Hong Kong, their rivals, even the local cops are having a hard time taking them down. Agent Woo has been undercover these past month hoping to rise through the ranks as to find the man who runs this criminal organization. He's at the dock helping loading some drugs that is about to ship off to New York.
"Hey you!"
Jimmy Woo turns to the guy who's been calling him out.
"Quit slacking off, get to work. The boss wants all this done as quickly as possible."
"Yes sir." Jimmy Woo said.
Agent Woo continues to blend in as to not attract attention towards himself. He got word that criminal boss Mister Negative is about to relocate to New York City. He still has no idea who this Mister Negative is as no one but those closes to him seen his face. He continues to work until he sees a car coming in. He got a peek as to identify this mysterious crime boss. A man got out of the car and seems to be glowing in black and white, Agent Woo only got a look of his back but not his face. He finished packing up the last of the boxes onto the truck as he walked away to somewhere private.
He found a restroom to hid in as he pulls out his phone and contacts S.H.I.E.L.D. to let them know that Mister Negative is here tonight.
"Agent Jimmy Woo here, can you hear me?" Jimmy Woo said.
"We read you." Phil Coulson said.
"Confirmation, Mister Negative is here at the docks, this may be our only opportunity to take out the head of the snake." Jimmy Woo said.
"Understood, we're on route to your location. Make sure that Mister Negative doesn't escape." Phil Coulson said.
"Understood." Jimmy Woo said.
Agent Woo hangs up as he exits the bathroom only to be met by two men with guns, he got the sense that his cover is blown.
"I always knew there was something fishy about you."
"Are you sure that's not the fish here?" Jimmy Woo jokes.
Agent Woo quickly disarmed one of the thugs as the other one tries to shoot only to be shot first. Jimmy Woo clubbed the other thug with the gun. The whole docks is on alert as a gunshot alerted the Demons. Mister Negative and his Demons heard sirens coming in as Hong Kong police arrived at the scene along with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents led by Phil Coulson and Melinda May.
"Everyone contain the area, we cannot allow Mister Negative to escape!" Phil Coulson said.
The police and S.H.I.E.L.D. have the area surrounded as the Demons are fighting back to buy time for Mister Negative to escape. The Demons themselves are infused with negative energy that empowers themselves and their weapons.
A quinjet came in to box in any potential escape routes for the Demon. The quinjet found Mister Negative on the ground as he looked up.
"Mister Negative, on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D., you are under arrest!"
Mister Negative charges up and unleashed a surge of negative energy at the quinjet as it got hit. The pilot inside is losing control as its spin around and catching.
"Mayday! Mayday! we're going down!"
Agents Coulson, May, and Woo are looking at the quinjet falling down towards the ground as a helicopter is coming in towards the docks.
"Mister Negative is heading for the copter, we must hurry!" Phil Coulson said.
They all rushed after Mister Negative as the helicopter is landing down, the Demons are doing their part to hold them off as Mister Negative is about to board. Only a few Demons are left between the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Mister Negative.
"Give me cover, I'll make a run for it." Melinda May said.
"Go!" Phil Coulson said.
Melinda May got up and started to run as the Demons see her and tries to stop her. Coulson and Woo both shot at the Demons to give her cover. She manage to slip passed them as she almost reached the Helicopter. It's about to take off as she pull out her gun and started to fire at Mister Negative, one of the Demons was hit, Mister Negative unleashed his negative energy at Melinda as she runs to cover. The helicopter takes off the ground as Melinda May is pinned down. She looked and sees as it was leaving, she shot off some rounds at the helicopter as did Coulson and Woo. They were too late as Mister Negative has escaped the area.
"Damn it! We almost had him!" Melinda May said.
"Don't worry, we'll get another opportunity. Any ideas where he's heading, Agent Woo?" Phil Coulson said.
"Yeah... New York City." Jimmy Woo said.
"Well looks likes we're heading for New York, time to inform our mutual friend about this." Phil Coulson said.
Today is May 10th, Peter and Sally are invited to Gwen's house as to celebrate her 18th birthday party. Gwen Stacy just turned eighteen years old and is now officially an adult.
"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday dear Gwen, happy birthday to you!" Peter, Sally, and George sing in unison.
"Okay Gwennie, make a wish." George Stacy smiled.
Gwen took a deep breath and blow out the candles as everyone claps their hands. Gwen could see that her dad has a small tear in his eye.
"Dad, are you crying?" Gwen said.
"No... I'm just happy and sad to see that my princess is now a grown woman who about to graduate soon to explore the world. A woman who won't need me anymore." George Stacy smiled.
"I'll always need you Dad." Gwen smiled.
George and Gwen hugged each other.
"Your mother would be proud of you Gwen." George Stacy said.
"Thank you... Dad." Gwen said.
"So what did you wish for?" Sally said.
"Sally! I can't say it or it won't come true." Gwen smiled.
"Don't need to tell me, I can guess." Sally said.
Sally and Gwen turns to Peter who is eating a piece of the birthday cake. Gwen can't deny that she wanted to be with Peter Parker more than anything. Now that Peter is single and that she's now a woman. She wonders if she and Peter might have a chance, but she could tell that Peter still thinks about Mary Jane despite the fact that they've broken up.
George's phone rang, it's Yuri Watanabe calling as he answered it.
"Captain Stacy here." George is listening to Yuri. "Where is this?"
Peter and Gwen are looking at George as they could tell that something is going on.
"I'll be right there." George hangs up. "I'm sorry Gwennie, I have to go."
"Is everything alright, Dad?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah, just something has happened in Chinatown that I need to investigate. Enjoy the party." George Stacy said.
Peter and Gwen watched as George left the apartment to check out something in Chinatown.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Gwen said.
"Yeah, I should go, work thing." Peter said.
Peter left as he doesn't want Sally to know that he's Spider-Man, but unknown to him Sally already knows that Peter is Spider-Man thanks to Gwen.
"You still haven't told him that I know his secret?" Sally said.
"Well I don't want him to lecture me about bring you into this life, not to mention that I haven't told him about your brief time as Bluebird." Gwen said.
"Really? Didn't he bring Mary Jane and his aunt into his other life, not to mention that Mary Jane was fighting as Iron Spider during that time you rescued him." Sally said.
"Yeah, I see your point. But he's still not comfortable bring in those who don't have powers into this fight." Gwen said.
"Anyway, you should go and check out that incident in Chinatown. I'll wait here until you get back." Sally said.
"Right, I should get going." Gwen smiled.
Gwen into her room and dressed up into her Ghost-Spider costume. She donned on the costume and swings out the window as she later joined up with Spider-Man who is also swinging in the city.
Captain George Stacy arrived at Chinatown to see there was a massacre here. Lieutenant Yuri Watanabe and Carlie Cooper are examine the bodies of the local gang that has been killed.
"Lieutenant Watanabe, what do we have here?" George Stacy said.
"Bodies of the local Chinese gangs, every one of them were top lieutenants. If you ask me, looks like someone is muscling them out." Yuri Watanabe said.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider arrived at the scene.
"Captain, Lieutenant." Spider-Man said.
"How'd you know we were going to be here?" George Stacy said.
"Can't say, trade secret. So what do we have here?" Spider-Man said.
"Everyone of them were top lieutenants of a local Chinese gang, a lot of cuts here, CSI suggested that they were cut down by large bladed weapon though the burn marks on them are strange." George Stacy said.
"Captain, you need to see this." Carlie holds up a tablet. "Security footage from a few hours ago, watch."
They all see footages of men in mask wielding swords of some kind, though what's strange is the way their weapons are glowing black and white. They slaughtered off every one of the lieutenants and loyalists alike.
"Now that you seen what we can do, join us or die."
They watched the footage as the remaining members bow down and pledging their loyalties.
"Welcome to the Inner Demons, You've pledged your loyalties to us and to Mister Negative."
The footage ended as everyone hears about a new gang and their leader.
"Inner Demons? Mister Negative?" Spider-Man said.
"Who are they?" Ghost-Spider said.
"Honestly we don't know, this is new to us. We've never come across a gang like this before, especially ones with powers." George Stacy said.
"Probably another gang wanting to claim territory since the Kingpin is locked up." Yuri Watanabe said.
"Yeah but taking on a local gang is bold, even for these guys. We need to find them before this escalates any further." Spider-Man said.
"Agreed, we'll get in touch with some agencies to find out more about these demons. In the meantime, there's not much we can do." George Stacy said.
"Good, because I'm late. See ya." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man swings away as Ghost-Spider watches along with George and Yuri.
Later Spider-Man swings into a nearby alley as he changes out of his suit and dressed up in his regular clothes. He ran up to F.E.A.S.T. to meet up with May who is feeding food to the homeless.
"Hey Aunt May, sorry that I'm late." Peter said.
"Don't worry, everything is working out." May said.
"I can see that, you sure run a tight ship." Peter said.
"I couldn't agree more." Martin Li said.
Peter and May sees Martin Li here in person. Martin Li is the philanthropist and founder of F.E.A.S.T.. Peter once saw Martin Li as Spider-Man at the ceremony last year before the Sinister Six attack. Martin Li looked like a friendly person to everyone here.
"Martin Li, what a surprise! Didn't know that you've returned to town." May smiled.
"I apologize for not being here, my interest in China has kept me from home for so long." Martin Li smiled.
"It's okay, everything here has being going smooth." May said.
"I can see that, I made the right choice in placing you in charge in my absences." Martin Li said.
"I appreciate the compliment." May said.
"So are you going to introduce us?" Martin Li wondered.
"Oh, I'm sorry, this is my nephew Peter Parker." May turns to Peter. "Peter, this is Martin Li."
"Nice to meet you Mr. Parker." Martin Li said.
"You too Mr. Li. You were here during the ceremony of Spider-Man, right?" Peter said.
"That's right, I was able to make time for the ceremony even though it didn't end so well." Martin Li said.
"This is a nice thing you're doing, helping the homeless survive by providing them food and shelter." Peter smiled.
"Thank you. I've seen so much of my fellow men struggling back home in China living on the streets. You can say that I was inspired to help those who can't not help themselves. This place represents my life's work." Martin Li said.
Peter could see that Martin Li did good in starting something that helped a lot of the homeless survive.
"Anyway, I should go. Nice to meet you Mr. Parker." Martin Li said.
"You too." Peter said.
Peter and Martin Li shake hands.
The next day in school, Gwen and Sally are hanging around as lunch break is happening.
"So are things between you and Peter?" Sally said.
"Well we're still working together as a superhero duo, so it's been great." Gwen said.
"That's not what I meant. I was wondering if Peter and you are getting closer." Sally said.
"Sally, me and Peter are simply friends, that is all." Gwen said.
"Seriously? You still haven't made your move? Even after he and Mary Jane are already broken up?" Sally said.
"Peter still thinks about her even after they've broken up, I don't want to take advantage of him being single. She asked me to be there for him." Gwen said.
"I think that Mary Jane wants you to be more than just a friend to Peter. I can see in your eyes that you still love him." Sally said.
"You want me to admit it, fine. Yes... I love him... I've always loved him." Gwen said.
"Then this is your chance to profess your love for him, if you don't then someone will and you'll never get another chance again." Sally said.
"What if he doesn't feel the same way for me?" Gwen said.
"That's okay, there are always risk in life, even if it comes to love. Look at me, I've been so happy being best friends with you and having a wonderful boyfriend like Jason. You deserve that too." Sally said.
"I wish that I could be as brave as you, Sally." Gwen said.
"No Gwen, you've always been brave. You've face so much in your life. I would never be here if you weren't so brave. You risked your life to save me, that took courage. I know that you're brave enough to fight for the man you love. Listen, life is too short, don't waste it being alone. If you ever had a chance, then fight to be with the person you love so much until the end of your days." Sally said.
Gwen smiled. "Thank you Sally, you truly are the best friend I could ever have."
"You better believe it." Sally said.
"Sally!" Jason Ionello called.
"I'm coming, Gotta go." Sally got up.
Gwen watched as Sally went over to Jason Ionello, her boyfriend. She watched as they kiss, she envies Sally as she's brave enough for love. Gwen can't deny that her feelings for Peter has always been there since the day she first saw him. She realized that Sally is right, she needs to be brave enough to confess her love for Peter. Given the life she lives by, she could die at anytime without having to say that she loves Peter.
At the VA, as it finished early, everyone left for the day. Flash sees Sha Shan leaving as he catches up with her.
"Sha Shan, wait!" Flash said.
Sha Shan stopped as Flash is following her.
"You didn't have enough of round one? You want to go for round two?" Sha Shan said.
"Actually no, since I know that you can take me on. I was wondering if you want... we could..." Flash said.
"We could what?" Sha Shan said.
"I just want to get to know you better... if you'll give me chance... please." Flash said.
"Fine... I know a place not far from here. You're buying." Sha Shan smiled.
Flash smiled too as he finally got a date with Sha Shan Nguyen.
In Little Italy, the remnants of the Maggia are engaging against the Demons that crashed into a restaurant. They're having a hard time holding off the Demons as they are powerful.
"Hold them back boys. We can't let them overthrow the Maggia!"
One by one members of the Maggia are getting killed off as they grow smaller in numbers. Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider arrived just in time to save what's left of the Maggia.
"So you must be the Demons causing all this mayhem?" Spider-Man said.
"Spider-Man! Out of our way, this doesn't concern you."
"Whatever happens in New York is our concern, this is our city you're threatening." Ghost-Spider said.
"Not for long. Get them!"
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider fights off against the Demons as they're proven to be not your average criminals. They've avoided the swings of the swords that the Demons are wielding. Ghost-Spider flips back as she dodge the swing, she then webs one of them and pulls him in for a knee strike. Spider-Man took down one with a side kick, another one is coming in with a sword, he dodge the blade then he strike with an elbow. Ghost-Spider runs up and does a scissor kick on the two. Spider-Man sees one of them left standing as he tries to make a run for it. Spider-Man webs him up and pulls him in. He got the last Demon in front of them, they're about to interrogate him.
"Who sent you?!" Spider-Man said.
"I'm merely a drone, one of many."
"I'll ask you again, who sent you?" Spider-Man said.
"Mister Negative."
"Who is he and where could we find him?" Ghost-Spider said.
"He's here, he's hiding in plain sight and you don't even know it."
"What do you mean?" Spider-Man said.
"Not to worry, you'll find out. Everyone will find out. This is his city now."
The doors and windows came busting in as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider sees men in tactical gear bursting in, they recognized the symbol on their uniform, it's S.H.I.E.L.D.. They see Nick Fury and Maria Hill walking inside as the agents are taking in the captured Demons.
"Spider-Man, Ghost-Spider." Nick Fury said.
"Fury, was I not clear last time we saw each other?" Spider-Man said.
"You were very clear, but right now you're caught up in a S.H.I.E.L.D. op that came here to New York." Nick Fury said.
"You know about the Demons?" Ghost-Spider said.
"And their leader. Are you interested in hearing what we have to say?" Nick Fury said.
Spider-Man still doesn't trust Fury given that he hid the truth about Peter's parents and doesn't want to hear from Fury again. But this time this Demon problem is starting to affect everyone in New York.
"Fine... we're listening." Spider-Man said.
Somewhere in a bar, Flash and Sha Shan are talking about each other.
"So how does a girl like you end up serving the Army?" Flash said.
"Do you have a problem with women in the armed force?" Sha Shan said.
"Of course not, if anything it's great." Flash said.
"Okay, it wasn't my plan to join, I just wanted to be a doctor. I couldn't afford medical school so I had to enlist so that the Army could pay for medical school." Sha Shan said.
"So you're still in school?" Flash said.
"That's right, Empire State University, I'm still pre med. What about you? Why did you enlist? Be all you can be?" Sha Shan said.
"Cute... no, I enlisted because I was inspired by my hero Spider-Man. Ever since he first came out years ago, I got to see how awesome he is saving a lot of lives, giving everyone hope. So I decided that I wanted to help people, I enlisted straight out of high school." Flash said.
"Wow... that's pretty amazing." Sha Shan said.
"So how did you take me down? What was that? Judo or Aikido?" Flash said.
"Vovinam... my father taught me since I was eight. He wanted me to follow in his footstep and run the business." Sha Shan said.
"Let me guess, you've got other ideas?" Flash said.
"Well I still teach a class and still do my studies in medicine. I'm a multitasker.' Sha Shan said.
"That's amazing." Flash said.
"What about you? What are you going to be doing since you've back?" Sha Shan said.
"Honestly I don't know, still figuring out what my purpose is since I've return home." Flash said.
Flash and Sha Shan sees one of the patrons harassing the waitress.
"Hey come on, have a drink with us."
"No thank you."
The guy grabbed her and pulled her in.
"Come on, don't be such a prude."
"Let go of me!"
"Hey!... You hear the lady, hand off!" Flash stands up.
The guy and his buddies got up.
"Who the hell do you think you are?"
"Someone who doesn't like a piece of trash like yourself harassing a lady." Flash said.
"You want a piece of me, asshole? Go ahead, I'm gonna fu-"
Flash punched him in the face hard as the guy fell down. The other guy charges in and tackled Flash down on the ground. Sha Shan sees another guy holding a pool cue about to attack Flash. Sha Shan steps in to stop him.
"Get out of my way!"
"Make me." Sha Shan said.
The guy swing his cue as Sha Shan ducks down. She grabbed a nearby cue and uses it to fight off the man. She blocks every swing as the guy is having trouble hitting her. The guy charged in hold his cue against Sha Shan as he pins her against the wall.
"So what to do?"
"This!" Sha Shan said.
Sha Shan kicked the guy in the balls as he loosen his grip. Sha Shan finishes off with strike to the head.
Flash and the other guy are both standing up as Flash is trapped with the guy's arms around his neck. Flash elbows him in the gut as he then tossed him down hard on the ground. Flash and Sha Shan sees that they've taken down the three guys with ease.
"That was fun." Flash smiled.
"Yeah." Sha Shan smiled.
At the Triskelion, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider arrived in the briefing room with Nick Fury and Maria Hill, they see Phil Coulson along with two agents they've never met before.
"Parker, Stacy, meet agents James Woo and Melinda May." Nick Fury said.
"Nice to meet you both." Ghost-Spider said.
"Hello." Melinda May said.
"Hi." Jimmy Woo said.
"Okay Fury, we're here, so what do you know about the Demons?" Spider-Man said.
"Very well, Agent Coulson if you'll please." Nick Fury said.
"Months ago we've placed Agent Woo undercover to infiltrate a gang that's based out of Hong Kong, they've moved drugs around all of Southeast Asia. They're lead by someone who calls himself Mister Negative." Phil Coulson said.
"Mister Negative, one of the Demons mentioned him, so who is he?" Spider-Man said.
"We don't know, but he's no ordinary criminal." Maria Hill said.
"What do you mean not ordinary?" Ghost-Spider said.
"He's got powers, he glows black and white and can unleash a blast of energy we do not yet know. That's what make him so dangerous." Phil Coulson said.
"So what's he doing here in New York?" Spider-Man said.
"Expansion, probably. We've crippled his operation back in Hong Kong, but Agent Woo tells us that he's relocated stateside and is now here. His gang has already claimed pieces of territory for his operation. We can't fight someone against this kind of power, but you can." Nick Fury said.
"So you want us to catch this Mister Negative for you, is that right?" Spider-Man said.
"I'm not asking you to rejoin S.H.I.E.L.D., but like it or not Mister Negative is here and posses a threat to your city." Nick Fury said.
"Fine, we'll help out but after this our business is concluded, understand?" Spider-Man said.
"Fair enough. Agent Hill will give you a list of suspected Demon hideouts." Nick Fury said.
Maria Hill hands a drive to Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider, after that they left the room as Spider-Man still hold a grudge against Fury for keeping his parents secrets from him.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider arrived at Gwen's home as they've looked around the room to see that it's clear.
"All clear, my dad is working tonight over this Demon incident. So we've got the place to ourselves." Gwen pulled her mask off.
Peter pulled his mask off as he and Gwen are about to used the drive to find the Demons and Mister Negative. They heard the door open as Sally Avril enters and see Peter and Gwen in their costumes.
"Sally?" Gwen said.
"Sorry, didn't know that you've brought Peter here. I'll leave if you two need some privacy." Sally smiled.
"What? We're not doing anything? We're just working. What are you doing here?" Gwen said.
"I came here to speak with you and your dad said that I could wait here. He already left." Sally said.
"Uh listen Sally... this... it's..." Peter is clueless.
"It's okay, I've already know about your double life as Spider-Man." Sally said.
"Wait... you know?" Peter said.
"I've known for almost a year since I found out about Gwen's secret and she told me that you're Spider-Man." Sally said.
"What? You told her my secret?" Peter said to Gwen.
"I trust Sally just as you trust Mary Jane. You're secret is safe." Gwen said.
"Okay, how did you find out about Gwen's secret?" Peter asked Sally.
"Last year, she saved me from a lizardman and trusted me with her secret. I became her confidant and at one time her partner, I got to fight along her side." Sally said.
"Wait? You're that mysterious Bluebird that took down the Tinkerer." Peter said.
"That's right, if it wasn't for Gwen who taught me some moves then I might not have been able to fight." Sally said.
"You were training her?" Peter said to Gwen.
"You taught Mary Jane moves too, so why can't I teach Sally." Gwen said.
"I taught it to Mary Jane for self defense, not for her to engage in crime fighting." Peter said.
"Wait, Mary Jane knows too." Sally said.
"Sally, could you give and Gwen a moment alone please?" Peter said.
"Sure." Sally said.
Sally walked out of the room, leaving Peter and Gwen alone to talk.
"Okay, we're alone, so what's the problem?" Gwen said.
"You allowed Sally to go out fighting as a vigilante?" Peter said.
"I didn't allow her, she volunteered. How is this any different when Mary Jane helped me and Felicia rescue you?" Gwen said.
"I never asked her to do that. Gwen, this life is dangerous for Sally to handle." Peter said.
"You were younger than Sally when you first started being a hero and you turned out fine." Gwen said.
"Gwen, you and me have powers and training. Sally is a teenage girl with very little training. If she continues this path, she'll get hurt or worse." Peter said.
Gwen doesn't like to debate about Sally with Peter, but deep down she knows that he's right. One of these day if Sally keeps playing Bluebird, she end up dead.
"Listen, I've got to go. Please, talk with her." Peter said.
Peter puts on his mask and swings out of Gwen's room. Gwen is left alone as she changed into regular clothes. She went into the living room after she changed and sees Sally still here.
"Where's Peter?" Sally said.
"He left already, listen Sally we need to talk." Gwen said.
"Let me guess, you agree with Peter about me?" Sally said.
"Sally, listen I'm grateful that you came to my rescue with Mysterio and Tinkerer, I really am." Gwen said.
"But?" Sally said.
"But this life is dangerous, I've gonna against the worst kind of bad guys. It's a miracle that I've survived this long. But Peter is right, you're still a teenage girl with no powers." Gwen said.
"Gwen, when I first put on that costume, I've never felt this trilling about help others, it felt great." Sally said.
"I know that it's great, but its still dangerous. Please, promise me you'll never go out as Bluebird again." Gwen said.
"Gwen, you can't ask me to do that." Sally said.
"Sally, you're my best friend, practically my sister. I'd die if anything terrible happens to you. Promise me you won't go out fighting again, promise!" Gwen said.
"Okay... I promise." Sally said.
"Thank you." Gwen said.
Gwen and Sally hugged each other. Gwen had to make Sally promise to not to go out as Bluebird.
Sometime later after they left the bar, Flash and Sha Shan are walking and laughing.
"Wow, I've never had this much fun in a while." Flash smiled.
"Yeah, me neither. I have to admit, it's been a while since I've gone out with anyone. I always thought of you as someone who wanted to just sleep with me, but I guess there's more to Flash Thompson than what it appears." Sha Shan said.
"Well we're here, guessing this is where we part ways." Flash said.
"Thank you, for showing me a great time." Sha Shan said.
"Do you think that we could... go out again?" Flash said.
Sha Shan leaned in and gave Flash as kiss on the lips. Flash is surprised that Sha Shan is kissing him. They later broke off the kiss.
"Wow." Flash smiled.
"Does that answer your question?" Sha Shan smiled.
Sha Shan went up the stairs and looked back at Flash.
"Goodnight Flash." Sha Shan smiled.
Sha Shan went inside her apartment building as Flash is smiling as Sha Shan has finally kissed him. He has some experience in dating women but what happening with Sha Shan is something more.
Meanwhile at F.E.A.S.T., Martin Li is alone as he's struggling through something. He looked himself in the mirror.
"Please... not now." Martin Li said.
The door knocked as May is outside.
"Mister Li, are you alright?" May said concerned.
She opened the door to his office as she sees that it's empty.
"Where did he go?" May wondered.
She looked around and sees the coffee mug is still warm, someone was definitely here recently. She looked around and couldn't find any other exit paths. She could've swore that someone was here before she entered. She noticed that Martin Li is hardly around even he's in New York. May noticed that Martin Li is mysterious like Peter was with his secret life as Spider-Man, she wonders what Martin Li could be hiding about himself.
The next day, Spider-Man arrived at the laundry mat that served as a front. He went inside to see a couple of Chinese immigrants working.
"Sorry to intrude, I'm looking for Mister Negative, have you seen him?" Spider-Man said.
They don't seemed to understand what Spider-Man is saying, he figured out that they don't speak English.
"Okay, have you seen Mister Negative?" Spider-Man speaks Mandarin.
They understand what he's saying but unfortunately they never even met Mister Negative. Spider-Man moves on to the next lead.
At Midtown High, it's after school as Gwen is going through the list of suspected Demon hangouts. She's on the phone talking with Peter who is still out swing as Spider-Man running down leads.
"Anything?" Gwen said.
"Nothing, this the four one and still no Demons. You can cross off this one." Peter said.
Gwen crossed off the list of the fourth address, only two are left.
"There's only two left on the list, I'll go check one that's nearby while you go check the other one." Gwen said.
"Okay, stay in contact and I'll do the same." Peter said.
"Will do." Gwen hangs up.
Gwen checks out the last two addresses left. Sally came by to see Gwen still checking out the list.
"Hey Gwen, still busy?" Sally said.
"Yeah, me and Peter are still searching suspected Demon hangouts." Gwen said.
"So any thoughts off which collage you'll be attending?" Sally said.
"Hopefully Empire State University, since I've interned there and with my good grades, they say that I'm most likely to attend." Gwen said.
"I know that you'll get there, there's even word that you'll graduate Valedictorian this year." Sally said.
"You never know." Gwen said.
Professor Raymond Warren came by to speak with Gwen.
"Gwen Stacy, a moment please." Raymond Warren said.
"Sure, be right back." Gwen said.
Gwen went with Raymond Warren to speak in private leaving her stuff with Sally to look after in Gwen's absences. Sally looked over the list and noticed that only four are crossed off, leaving two addresses left. Sally knows that she made Gwen a promise to not get involve in hero business again but she thought about helping Gwen without her knowing it. Sally pulled off her phone and took a picture of the list. She sees Gwen coming her way as Sally puts away the phone.
"So what did Mr. Warren want?" Sally said.
"He said that this year I'm going to graduate Valedictorian." Gwen smiled.
"Really, that's great, you deserve it." Sally said.
"Thank you... listen I got to go, I'll see you later." Gwen said.
"Sure, good luck." Sally said.
Gwen grabbed her stuff and put them in her backpack as she left the school. Unknown to Gwen, Sally had already got the addresses of Demon hangouts on her phone. Sally checks one of the addresses that's not far from her. She sees Ghost-Spider swinging by as she figured out which way she's heading. Sally decided to follow after her and go against the promise she made to Gwen.
Sometime later, Ghost-Spider arrived at the warehouse that was on the list. She spotted a car nearby that looked suspicious. She decided to get a closer look so she swings in closer and enters undetected.
Sally came by later as she looked at the building that was on the list. she pulls out her wig and mask along with her blue hoodie. She became Bluebird again against Gwen's wishes. She was about to go until her phone rang, it's her boyfriend calling.
"Hey Jason." Sally said.
"Sally, where are you? I thought that we were going out on our date today." Jason Ionello said.
"Oh damn, sorry I forgot." Sally said.
"Don't worry about it, if you're busy we can finish our date another time." Jason Ionello said.
"I'd like that, listen I have to go." Sally said.
"Okay... Hey Sally... I love you." Jason Ionello said.
"I love you too Jason." Sally smiled as she hangs up.
Sally can't deny that she's in love with Jason, she's lucky to have a boyfriend like him, she wishes that Gwen would be so lucky. She has hopes that one day Gwen and Peter will be together. She proceed to go inside the building undetected.
Meanwhile Ghost-Spider is already inside as the Demons has already brought in one of the leader of a local gang here. She spotted someone here that looked familiar to her, he turns around and shows his face, it's Martin Li.
"No way, I don't believe it." Ghost-Spider said in her thoughts.
Ghost-Spider couldn't believe that a man like Martin Li is involved with the Demons. She heard great things about him, how he helps the homeless. She can't figure out why he's involved with these criminals.
"So are you going to summit your men and territory to me?" Martin Li said.
"Never, I'd die before I'd summit."
"That's the answer I was hoping for." Martin Li said.
Ghost-Spider sees him turning black and white as he uses a blade and executes the gang leader. She couldn't believe it, Martin Li just killed a man and that he has powers. Martin Li is Mister Negative.
Ghost-Spider pulls out her phone and calls Peter.
"Gwen, what's wrong?" Spider-Man said.
"I'm here at the warehouse and Mister Negative is here." Ghost-Spider said.
"I'm on my way." Spider-Man said.
"Listen to me... Mister Negative is-" Ghost-Spider got cut off.
Her spider sense tingle as she has been spotted, Mister Negative is blasting negative energy at her but she dodges it. She kept on dodging and swinging until she finally got hit and fell down hard on the crates. Bluebird sees that Ghost-Spider is hurt and defeated, she found a metal pole that she decided to use as a weapon but she'll need more than just a weapon to help her friend out. Inside the warehouse she found a crate of Chinese fireworks, she got an idea.
"Bring her to me." Mister Negative orders.
His men picked Ghost-Spider out and carried her to Mister Negative. Ghost-Spider still felt weak after that attack as she's recovering a little bit.
"So you're the famous Ghost-Spider I've hear so much about." Mister Negative said.
"How? How could someone like you who helped a lot of people suddenly become a criminal?" Ghost-Spider said.
"Oh, you're referring to my other half, the good old innocent Martin Li. Right now, you're speaking to Mister Negative." Mister Negative said.
"I don't understand?" Ghost-Spider said.
"I am me and he is himself, we share the same body with different personalities. A result of the experiment that create us and gave us powers." Mister Negative said.
"You have a dual personality." Ghost-Spider said.
"That's right, right now I'm Mister Negative, Leader of the Inner Demons, and soon I'll own this whole city. Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you, in fact I got other uses for you in my organization." Mister Negative smiled.
Mister Negative wants to use Ghost-Spider so he decided to use his power to turn her to his side as he reach out his hand.
"Hey!" Bluebird said.
Mister Negative turns to see Bluebird here holding firework cannon.
"Catch!" Bluebird said.
The firework launched and hit Mister Negative as he got hurt by the impact. Ghost-Spider recovered and kick the two Demons holding her. She got freed and sees Bluebird here again.
"Bluebird, you promised you wouldn't put the costume on again." Ghost-Spider said.
"I know, but I couldn't sit back and watch you die." Bluebird said.
"Talk later, we got work to do." Ghost-Spider said.
Ghost-Spider and Bluebird are surrounded by the Demons as Mister Negative is slowly recovering from the fireworks blast. They engaged the Demons in combat, Ghost-Spider takes on the ones with guns as Bluebird uses the staff to fight the unarmed ones. Ghost-Spider dodges all the bullets that the Demons shoot at her, her acrobatics and reflexes makes it difficult to hit, she got closer and took them out with split kicks.
Bluebird took out a few with her staff, she still could hold her own with the training that Ghost-Spider gave her. Mister Negative got himself up and is fully recovered from the firework blast.
"That wasn't very nice." Mister Negative not happy.
Mister Negative pulls out his blade and energized it with his powers. He swings his blade at her as she uses her staff to block every swing. Ghost-Spider sees Bluebird fighting off Mister Negative.
"Bluebird!" Ghost-Spider called out.
Ghost-Spider tries to get to her but there are more Demons with guns shooting at her. She fires off multiple webbing at their guns and yanks them off. She fights through the Demons trying to reach Bluebird.
"Get out of my way!" Ghost-Spider yelled.
George Stacy is still driving his car until he got a call from Lieutenant Watanabe, he put her on speaker.
"Lieutenant Watanabe, what do you have?" George Stacy said.
"Sir, one of our CIs told us that the Demons are at the warehouse near Chinatown." Yuri Watanabe said.
"Thank you, I'm on my way, gather units to that location immediately." George Stacy said.
"Yes Captain Stacy." Yuri Watanabe said.
Captain Stacy activates the sirens and proceeded towards the Demons locations at full speed.
Ghost-Spider is still dealing with a lot of powered up Demons as she can't do anything to reach Bluebird in time. Spider-Man is still minutes away trying to reach them in time. Ghost-Spider needs to take out the Demons so she can reach Bluebird.
Bluebird still fights off Mister Negative, doing everything to hold him off.
"You're good." Mister Negative said.
"Had a better teacher." Bluebird said.
Bluebird holds up her staff as Mister Negative next swing is much stronger that it sliced through the metal and cut it in half. He finished off by impaling his blade through Bluebird, she stopped as she got stabbed.
"Apparently not." Mister Negative smiled.
Ghost-Spider took out the Demons but she sees Mister Negative with his blade through her best friend.
"NOOOO!" Ghost-Spider yelled out.
She ran up as Mister Negative pulled out his blade and blast some energy at Ghost-Spider who dodged in. She managed to get in closer and push kicked him towards the wall. She then went to tend to her injured friend, Bluebird is bleeding badly.
"Stay with me! Stay with me! You're going to be okay!" Ghost-Spider pleaded.
Mister Negative got himself up and sees that Ghost-Spider is distracted and holding her partner. He decided to attack her in her vulnerable state until Spider-Man swings in and kicked him back hard.
"Spider-Man!" Ghost-Spider said.
"Go! Get her out of here! I'll hold him off!" Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man and Mister Negative engages each other in combat. Ghost-Spider picked up her injured friend and swings her away to safety. Spider-Man sees the face of Mister Negative, it's Martin Li.
"Martin Li? You're Mister Negative?" Spider-Man said.
"Yes and no. I love to stay and chat but I think you got other problems." Mister Negative smiled.
Spider-Man turns around and sees more Demons coming in with assault rifles. They all shot at Spider-Man but he managed to dodge the bullets in time. Spider-Man is busy taking on the Demons alone, Mister Negative took the opportunity to escape.
Spider-Man webs up a crate and swings it at them. he took out a few but three are still left. He ran up dodging the bullets as he executes a flying knee and took one out. He then uses his elbow to strike the one on the right, then he finishes off with a side kick to the last Demon.
Spider-Man looked around and sees that Mister Negative isn't here. He ran up outside and see that the car is gone, Mister Negative has escaped in time.
"Damn it!" Spider-Man said.
He then sees that the police have arrive to the warehouse. He decided to go check on Ghost-Spider and Bluebird.
George Stacy is still driving towards the scene until he spotted Ghost-Spider carrying someone in her arm. He stopped and turns around to follow after her.
Sometime later, Ghost-Spider arrived in an alley to check up on Sally. She removed her mask and wig to see Sally's face, blood being coughed out of her mouth. Gwen removed her own mask.
"Sally, hang on, you're going to make it!" Gwen said.
"Gwen... it's too late." Sally said.
"No... no, it's not. Don't talk like that." Gwen said.
"It's okay... it was worth it." Sally smiled.
"Why? Why did you put on the costume again? You promised that won't." Gwen said with tears.
"I wanted to be like you... I wanted to save your life." Sally said.
"You did... you did, Sally. You saved my life." Gwen smiled.
"That's great... this is it." Sally said.
"Sally no, we still have time to save you." Gwen said.
"It's been great fighting by your side... you're my hero Gwen... you always were." Sally said her final words.
Sally closed her eyes as she passed away in Gwen's arms.
"Sally?... Sally!… Sally, open your eyes please!" Gwen cried.
Gwen cried out as her best friend just died in front of her. She cried while hugging Sally's body, she hears sirens coming in closer. A car parked outside the alley as George Stacy sees Ghost-Spider in the alley. Gwen picked up her mask and took Sally's wig and mask with her, she swings away.
George watched as Ghost-Spider swings out of the alley, he sees a body lying on the alley floor, he got in closer for a look. He sees a teenage girl on the ground, his eyes were shocked as he sees Sally Avril lying dead on the ground.
"Oh no... Sally?" George Stacy said.
He went to check on her, he checked her pulse but still nothing, she's already dead. He looked up to see Ghost-Spider looking down as she left the scene. He believed that Ghost-Spider is responsible for Sally's death. He picked up his radio and calls it in.
"All units... I want and APB on Ghost-Spider immediately." George Stacy said.
George Stacy put out a warrant against Ghost-Spider for the murder of Sally Avril.
It was night time as Gwen Stacy is in the bathroom stripped out of her costume. She stayed in the shower as she let the water rained on her as she cried. Her best friend just died because of her. All she can think about is removing the blood of Sally off of her, but she can't get it out of her mind.
Later she got out of the shower to dry herself off. she dressed up in her clothes. She hears the door opening as she figured that her dad just returned home.
"Dad." Gwen said.
"Gwennie… I'm so sorry." George Stacy said.
Gwen cried out as George hugs her so close. All George can hear is her daughter crying over the death of her best friend.
"Sally!" Gwen cried.
Gwen continued to cry in her father's arms until he heard the doorbell rang. He went up to the door and opened it to see Peter Parker.
"Captain Stacy... may I come in?" Peter said sadly.
"Yeah... she needs you." George Stacy said.
Peter enters the apartment and sees Gwen with tears in her eyes.
"Peter?" Gwen said.
"I'm sorry." Peter said.
Gwen went up and hugged Peter as she cries again in his embrace.
"I'm sorry Gwen... I'm so sorry." Peter said with tears in his eyes.
Gwen continues to cry over the death of Sally Avril. Peter blames himself for being there in time to help them. The dead of Sally Avril is a devastating blow in both their lives.
