Chapter 2: Plans

"Darling are you sure about this?" Adam asked me for the hundreth time that morning. I sighed "if you had seen Mals face when those children were taunting her you would feel the same as I do" I told him. "Where will they stay? How will we know they are safe?" I frowned. "You know I still talk to Monsier Lafeu. He has agreed to take them under his care, he and his children will keep the safe, while also showing them how life on the isle truly is" I said. He opened his mouth to speak again but I held up my hand. "Adam its already been done. They leave tomorrow. I will take them there myself and make sure they are with Lafeu before I leave." I grabbed my bag and left the room.
I needed to check on Mal. She and the other four isle children are still worried they are being sent back to the isle. I needed to make sure Mal knew that was NOT happening. She had told me of her mothers abuse, of the abuse all four of them had endured. While I didn't want that to happen to the three royals I was sending, they needed to see that their words hurt. That life on the isle isn't anything like it is here in Auruadon.
I walked to the dorms and knocked on Evie and Mals door. Evie opened it "Queen Belle" she gasped, she opened the door and stepped back for me to come in. "I was looking for Mal" I said. "She is helping Jane pack for the isle. She is worried about her" I nodded, of all the kids I picked Jane was the most timid. But she was also one of the ones being rude to Mal. And after Mal had been friendly to her!
"Evie darling, you know I would never send you or the others back to the isle right?" I looked at her and saw the worry in her eyes, my motherly heart is shattering. "All due respect, we have been promised things before" she said. I frowned. "Mal told me the horrors you all endured from your parents. I promise you right now that you will never feel that hurt again, not as long as I am queen" I promised her, she smiled a little and nodded. I touched her shoulder gently, frowning when I feel her flinch at the touch. I left the room a few minutes later, I needed to finish getting ready for the isle.
