Peggrin tried to eliminate Conner, but he failed. Conner decided to face Peggrin directly. Conner got himself a helicopter and was on his way to Peggrin's Island.

'Peggrin, you are going to pay for taking my sister as well as my company.' Conner thought. 'Just hang in there, Mila. I'm coming to save you and nothing is going to stop me.'

Ichika

Ichika and his friends have had a rough night. First, Ryu showed up and he was possessed by an evil spirit that lies with in his pendent. Then, they saved Hector from a cowardly duelist that used dirty tactics. It's been quite a night for them. As everyone else was asleep, Ryu and Ichika were wide awake and sat around a fire.

"Oh man. What a night. I can barely sleep after all that has happened." Ichika said.

"I know what you mean." Ryu said. "You think you would be exhausted after all that has happened, but you feel like you can keep going. Tell me, Ichika, why did you enter this tournament to begin with?"

"It's actually for my sister." Ichika said.

"You mean Chifuyu?" Ryu questioned. "Did something happen?"

"Yeah. Peggrin did something to her. It was almost like he stole her soul or something like that." Ichika said. "Entering this tournament, and winning it, is the only way that I can save her."

"I see." Ryu said.

"What about you, Ryu? Why are you here?" Ichika asked.

"I think that was more of the evil spirit influencing me." Ryu said. "I don't know why, but it seem to have an interest into your charm around your wrist."

"Let's just hope it's gone for good." Ichika said. "I'm glad you and I are able to talk about this, Ryu. Our artifacts have strange powers, but I don't want the others to really know about it yet. I don't want them to get scared. I barely understand these powers myself."

"I suppose it is a good thing we ran into each other." Ryu said. Ichika was glad he found a friend that he can talk to about these strange powers. It was at that moment that Ichika noticed something.

"Ryu! Look at your pendent! It's pointing at something." Ichika said. Ryu looked down and saw one of the spikes was pointing somewhere.

"How odd." Ryu said as he lifted the pendent. "I wonder what's causing it to do that."

"Where's it pointing to?" Ichika said as they had a look in the same direction. They saw it was pointing at the castle. "It's pointing at the castle."

"I wonder why." Ryu said.

"Hold on. It could be pointing to Peggrin's own Mystical Artifact." Ichika said.

"His own?" Ryu questioned.

"Yeah. Peggrin has his own." Ichika said. "The Mystic Patch, an eyepatch that I believe allows him to read minds."

"He is capable of reading minds?" Ryu said as he found that interesting. It was at that moment that wind really started to pick up. It was blowing so hard that it woke up the girls.

"What's going on?" Houki said.

"Don't tell me there's more trouble coming our way." Rin said. "Can't we catch a break?"

"I think we're about to find out. Look up there!" Cecilia said. All of them looked up and saw a helicopter right over them. A rope was tossed down and Conner jumped out as he slid down it.

"It's Conner! The real Conner!" Ichika said. Conner landed on the ground as the helicopter flew off. "Conner!" He called and got his attention.

"Orimura? I didn't think I would run into you so soon." Conner said.

"Are you sure that's the real Conner and not an imposter like before?" Charlotte asked.

"I'm sure of it. That's the real Conner." Ichika said. "I'm actually glad you're here. I've got something for you." Ichika reached inside his pockets and pulled out Conner's deck. He salvaged it from his duel against Melvin.

"My deck!" Conner said as he took it. "I thought Peggrin had it."

"I managed to hold on to it for you." Ichika said. "I knew you would be coming sooner or later. You do know what's going on with Mila and your company, do you?"

"Why do you think I'm here?" Conner said. "Peggrin has my sister and is trying to take my company. No way I'm going to let that happen."

"This is great. We can all work together and help each other." Charlotte said.

"Agreed. Working together will help us reach our neutral goal." Laura said. All of them seemed excited to have a duelist like Conner fighting on their side.

"No way." Conner said as all of them were shocked to hear him say no. "Why would I want to work with any of you? You would just slow me down. Besides, Mila is my sister and it's my company. This has nothing to do with you."

"But we want to save Mila too." Rin said.

"Wouldn't it make more sense for all of us to gather all the stars we need and get in that castle together?" Houki said.

"I'm not playing my Peggrin's rules. I'm breaking in that castle and getting Mila out of there." Conner said. "All of you would just slow me down. I don't want or need your help, but I will thank you for giving my deck back." Conner just turned away and left it.

"Hold on!" Houki called. "We've got our own problems to deal with Peggrin. It involves taking him down just like you. Why wouldn't you want our help if we have the same goal?"

"I don't need help from anyone." Conner said. "Why would I want your help in the first place? Last I check, you weren't even invited to this tournament, little girl. If there's some dueling going to happen, you wouldn't last long. You're just a novice."

"A novice?!" Houki said as she took some offense to that. "I'm a great duelist. You think you're some sort of big shot? Don't forget that you lost to Ichika, a nobody, when you were a somebody."

"Hey!" Ichika said as he was a little offended.

"Houki, I don't think this is someone you should be making mad." Ryu said.

"I'm not the one acting like a jerk." Houki said. "You think you're a big shot, think you can beat Peggrin on your own? Prove it. How about you and I duel?"

"Don't waste my valuable time." Conner said.

"Is Conner Knight really running from a duel? Mila told us you haven't been yourself since you lost to Ichika." Houki said. "Afraid you lost your touch?" Houki doesn't really like Conner's attitude, but she wants to show him that there's more to them than what he thinks.

"If you're looking for a world of hurt and humiliation, you got one." Conner said. "Perhaps I do need to get back in the game before I have to face Peggrin."

"Houki, are you sure this is a good idea?" Ichika said.

"Ichika's right. What good will this do?" Ryu asked.

"It will show that Conner can't push us around. He needs to see that we can hold our own." Houki said. Both of them set their decks and were ready to go.

"Let's duel!" Both of them said as they were starting with 4000LP.

"Ladies, first!" Houki said. "I'll start by summoning Mishen the Silent Wind to the field." She summoned out her warrior with him having 1500atk points. "I'll also place two cards facedown and that ends my turn."

"You'll regret this." Conner said as he drew his card. "I'll start by summoning my Creature of the Void in attack mode." A dark portal opened up and a fiend-like creature emerged out of it with it having 1500atk points as well. "Next, his special ability activates. When he's summoned to the field, I can summon another dark attribute monster to join the fight. I summon The Thing in the Mirror." He summoned out a black mirror that had a shadowy creature in it. It had 800atk points. "Here's a little piece of information you should know. My little mirror monster is actually a tuner monster."

"A tuner monster?" Houki said.

"What's a tuner monster?" Cecilia asked.

"I'm guessing it might be trouble for Houki." Rin said.

"You got that right. I improved my deck since my only defeat at the hands of Orimura." Conner said. "Watch and see. I tune my level two Thing in the Mirror with my level four Creature of the Void." Both of his monsters molecularly broke apart.

"What's he doing?" Charlotte said.

"I think we're about to find out." Ichika said as all the pieces of both monsters gathered together in a circle. That one circle turned into six with a beam shooting through each one.

"I synchro summon Ascension Dragon!" Conner said. A new monster took their place. A gold plated dragon with it roaring out and it had 2200atk points.

"What just happened? How did you summon that?" Houki said.

"You don't know about synchro summoning? You really are a novice." Conner said. "Synchro summoning is when you take a monster called a tuner monster and add it's level with the level of non-tuner monsters to summon a more powerful monster."

"I think I get it." Ichika said. "Since his tuner monster was a level two, and his non-tuner monster was level four, he could summon out a level six monster. He really has stepped up his game."

"I'm afraid your problems are just getting started." Conner said. "I'm not a fool. I know you're planning something with one of your trap cards. I play Mystical Space Typhoon!"

"That might allow you to destroy one spell or trap on the field, but you can only choose one." Houki said.

"I'm aware, but my instincts have never let me down before." Conner said. "I choose the card on the left!" He selected the card and a twister destroyed Houki's face-down, Sakuretsu Armor. "Sakurestsu Armor? That might be a powerful trap, but not anymore. Ascension Dragon, attack!" His dragon flew at Mishen, but that's exactly what Houki wanted.

"I figured something like that would happen!" Houki said. "That's why I'm activating my second trap! I play Deceiving Second Trap! By removing one trap in my graveyard from play, I can copy it's effects. That means, by banishing Sakuretsu Armor, I can copy what it does. I'm sure you know, but for those who don't, it destroys your attacking monster." Conner's dragon charged right at Mishen, but it hit a barrier and destroyed it.

"Oh please. You really think I didn't see that coming?" Conner said. "Ascension Dragon's effect activates! When it's destroyed by an effect, it returns instantly to the field!" His dragon rose back to the field like nothing happened.

"No way!" Ryu said.

"He was prepared either way." Ichika said.

"I had a feeling you had a card ready for when I attacked, but I learned something after my defeat. No matter who my opponent is, do not hold anything back." Conner said. "Otherwise, it just might cost you. Ascension Dragon, continue your attack! Attack with Sky Strike Upstream!" Ascension Dragon flew right at her monster again. It flew over and created a powerful gust that destroyed Mishen. Houki's life points dropped to 3300. "I place one card facedown to end my turn."

"That all you got?" Houki questioned.

"Houki, why continue to aggravate him?" Ryu said.

"It's because she knows she can't beat me." Conner said.

"We'll see about that. I draw!" Houki said. She was a little surprised at what she drew. It was Coronix, the card she won from Flint. 'Coronix! This is the card I won from Coronix. I guess it's time to see what this card can really do.' "Since you have monsters on the field when I have none, I can special summon Twin Sacred Blade to the field. The problem is that by summoning this guy, all of his attack points drop to zero." She summoned out another samurai-like warrior that held a twin blade with the blades shining like gold. It had 2000atk points, but they all went away upon summoning. "There is a bright side. He counts as two monsters when he's used for a tribute summon."

"Is that so? Bring it on then." Conner said.

"I will! I summon Coronix the Sun Phoenix!" Houki said as she released her warrior and summoned out her new monster with it having 2400atk points.

"That's Houki's new card!" Charlotte said as they all thought Houki really had a chance.

"Let's see what that card can really do when it's in her hands." Ichika said.

"I guess it is impressive you have a rare and powerful card like that, but do you even know how to use it?" Conner taunted.

"You're about to see! Coronix, attack with Phoenix Inferno!" Houki called. Coronix ignited it's flames and smashed into Ascension Dragon. It was destroyed with Conner's life points dropping to 3800.

"Thank you." Conner said.

"You're thanking me?" Houki questioned.

"When Ascension Dragon is destroyed in battle, it's special ability allows me to take any dragon from my deck and add it to my hand." Conner said as he took the card. "I'm sure you already know what it is." He revealed the card was White-Eyes Silver Dragon.

"Not good. He's already got his famous card." Cecilia said.

"Yeah, but he does need to sacrifice two monsters in order to summon it." Rin said.

"It's your turn, Conner." Houki said.

"Very well, and it's time I ended this." Conner said as he drew another card. "I'll start by activating my trap. I play Different Dimension Warning! By taking one monster in my graveyard and removing it from play, you take damage equal to it's attack points! I choose Ascension Dragon!" Once his card was banished, an energy blast came and hit Houki as her life points dropped to 1100. "It might be banished for the rest of the duel, but it served it's purpose. I just needed it to get my dragon on the field."

"What are you talking about? It's in your hand. You've got nothing on your field to summon it." Houki said.

"I don't need anything. Just this. I activate Dragon Storm!" Conner said. "This allows me to summon any dragon with no special abilities! Rise, White-Eyes Silver Dragon!" He summoned his mighty dragon with it roaring those 3000atk points.

'I'll be okay. Even if he attacks, I'll still have life points.' Houki said as she wasn't too concerned.

"I activate Dragon Storm's other effect! I can banish it and the monster I summoned gains an additional 600atk points!" Conner said as his dragon's power rose to 3600. That's just enough to finish this and Houki knows it. "This duel is over! Attack with Lightning Burst Blast!" His dragon unleashed the attack and blasted Coronix with Houki losing the last of her life points.

"Houki!" Her friends called as they gathered around her.

"Let that be a warning. Don't get in my way." Conner said as he turned away from them and started walking.

"Sorry, Ichika. I just wanted to show Conner we're not pathetic." Houki said.

"It's fine. Conner just needs to see that he can't do everything on his own. He still has a lot to learn." Ichika said. Conner is a skilled duelist, but needs to learn to be human. With him now on the island, things might change around.

"By the way... How is Hector still sleeping?" Cecilia asked. All of them were curious as to how Hector slept through all of that. They checked on him and saw he was still asleep. Hector did wake up for a second, but he pulled out ear plugs when he got up.

"What's going on now?" Hector said. Ear plugs? He was wearing ear plugs during that whole thing? The rest of them couldn't believe it.
