Welcome, welcome, and... welcome!

I hope everyone enjoyed the last chapter. Thank you so very much for StoryWriter173 and Isabelle Ashmore's follows and favorites. Also:

Isabelle Ashmore: Thank you so much for your review! It means a lot to me that you reviewed because I love Beyond the Glass... so much. Don't worry, there will be a ton of Anakin and a bit more of Obi-Wan in the next few chapters. I love Ahsoka, too. Rhea's story will only get more interesting.

CloneWarsNerd: Yeah, you know I had to add that Kanan reference!

Disclaimer: I own nothing except for Rhea and my plot. Soon enough, there will be a ton of copied lines from scripts, so just a heads-up.

Enjoy!

Chapter Four: Taunting

20 BBY

In Anakin Skywalker's apartment, a holoMessage began to play.

"Ani? If you're there, I wanted to let you know that I'm back from the peace conferences on Serenno - " Anakin ran into the room, hair half-combed, and changed to live transmission.

"Yeah - I'm here, Padmé," he said lovingly. "They negotiations were short, so I'm guessing they didn't change anything."

Padmé sighed. "You're right. There are some senators that are so stubborn, it seems like they actually want the war to continue. The Confederacy leaders did try to work out a compromise, but ever since Mina died, nothing has seemed to work for an end to this war."

"Sorry, angel," her husband said, pinching his lips together. "I feel the same way, honestly."

"What's going on?"

"it's just that every time we have a victory, the Separatists come back with something else. A new weapon, a new plan, it never seems to end."

A new voice entered into the conversation. "Anakin?"

Anakin looked up. "Padmé - it's Obi-Wan!"

Padmé nodded. "Okay, love you - see you later."

"Love you." He ended the transmission, running to unlock the door.

"Anakin, I'd like a word," said Obi-Wan in his serene tone.

The old apprentice stepped out into the hallway, muttering, "A nice greeting would have been acceptable."

Obi-Wan gave a ghost of a smirk. "The Jedi Council sent me to talk to you - " He had barely spoken when Anakin groaned. "What? What's wrong with that?"

"Nothing, just… whenever the Jedi Council needs to speak to me, that means I did something wrong," he laughed bitterly.

"Well, it's your lucky day," Obi-Wan said. "Master Windu is debating what to do with your Padawan."

Anakin gave a perplexed look. "Ahsoka? Why?"

"Well, he was a bit disturbed by her illegal visit to the Citadel, and he's thinking about giving her Temple duty for three weeks."

Although he was about to object, Anakin sighed. "I can't help but agree. It was a rash thing to do."

"Yes - she reminds me more and more of you every day," Obi-Wan said sarcastically.

"I feel like that's a compliment, but I'm really not sure," the old Padawan thought out loud.

"Did you have fun on Onderon, Snips?"

Ahsoka sighed in a sarcastic tone. "Yes, Master, it was all quite amusing. It's very fun to sneak around on a Separatist-inhabited planet and plant bombs everywhere."

"Hmm. Doesn't sound like my kind of mission." Anakin got some water from the sink and sat down on the couch. "Sit down. Relax - you've had a long few days."

The Togruta Jedi sat next to her master, laying her head on the cushion. There was an awkward silence that was rarely felt in this apartment.

"Obi-Wan talked to me today," Anakin suddenly said.

"What about?" said the Padawan, not looking up.

He nervously laughed. "The Council wants to put you on three-week Temple duty for the Citadel."

This time, Ahsoka snapped up. "The Citadel? That was at the beginning of the year! Why wouldn't they make the decision any sooner?" she argued angrily.

"Look, it wasn't my idea," Anakin defended. "But be happy you don't have to spend two months here like I did as a Padawan once."

"Really?" Ahsoka laughed. "What for?"

"I… don't remember," Anakin said, which made his apprentice laugh even more. "i was blamed so many times that I've lost count."

"Well, let's hope that I'm not here any longer so I don't have to be like you," she deadpanned.

Anakin's face suddenly sombered. "About that, Ahsoka. I think it's almost time." He raised his eyebrows and gave a half-smile.

"You really mean it?" she said, not believing exactly what she was hearing.

"If the Council approves then… yes."

All she wanted was some peaceful rest. But when she went to sleep that night, she wasn't ready for the constant taunting that roamed her mind.

The Jedi don't trust you.

"No," Rhea murmured in her sleep, trying to fight that voice.

They did not inform you when your best friend was taken captive and Trandoshans tried to hunt her for sport.

"Stop."

That same friend didn't ask you to come along on a mission that she wasn't even invited to. Then later, you were led to believe that Obi-Wan Kenobi was dead, and they didn't even tell you the real reason for the feat. Your own master doesn't trust you enough to go into battle with you…

"Shut up!" Rhea yelled, waking up.

She had to stop the endless taunting.

But how far would she go?

This was working perfectly.

Rhea Isa had no idea who it was that was putting these ideas into her mind. Sidious informed her of her failures, and her rejections, and all of the times that the Jedi were against her.

Darth Sidious would have an apprentice yet.

Oh, man. That was... short. I'm sorry. When I wrote this chapter, I didn't realize it was so short! I actually have 6 more chapters already written after this one and you don't know how excited I am for them.

Sidious is evil. Sidious is quite evil. But the thing is, I'm not evil. So for your own sakes, I'm putting in a useless OC to become a Sith instead of Anakin. *yaaaaaaay*

I FINISHED STAR WARS REBELS THIS MORNING! AHHH SOO GOOD! So you can all look forward to some more references and characters as the story goes on. You've already met Caleb *coughKanancough* and seen a glimpse of what will happen to him, so please expect more!

Anyways, I hope you're all as excited for this story as I am. Again, please follow, favorite, and REVIEW!
