Hi everyone! Here is the next chapter of Danger of A Death. WARNING: There is a MINOR TIME SKIP from last chapter to this chapter, I assume about 2-3 months. By this time, Ahsoka is a Knight, yay! It is when Ahsoka asks permission to take a battalion to Mandalore to fight Maul and when the Chancellor is kidnapped (Revenge of the Sith opening).

Thanks to all who reviewed including:

GlaciesTheNerd101: Yes, I finished Star Wars Rebels and it was AMAZING!

CloneWarsNerd: Yeah, it really depends on the ideas that you have at the moment. Hamilton, much?

Isabelle Ashmore: Yeah, Rhea isn't in Barriss's place here. I feel like that would be monotonous and Rhea still isn't completely smitten with the voice yet. It will come eventually.

DawnDayrider: I totally agree. I really do love Anakin, so just make an OC take his place! Works every time.

Disclaimer: I do not own any Star Wars. I used RoTS scripts AND some additional dialogue from the book Ahsoka by E.K. Johnson, which is strongly recommended.

(published 4.13.18 - it's Friday the thirteenth!)

Chapter Five: The Battle of Coruscant

19 BBY

Ahsoka Tano, seventeen years old, Jedi Knight, was currently hunting down a male Zabrak, red skinned with black tattoos, and a double-bladed lightsaber. Through this research, she had been led to believe that he was hiding with the terrorist group Death Watch on Mandalore.

"And… where did you find this information?" Master Windu questioned skeptically.

Ahsoka looked down. "The Underworld." Her skin reddened and she felt the urge to scratch her neck.

Windu raised an eyebrow. "You've been in the Coruscant Underworld, without permission? Do you understand how rash and dangerous that is, Knight Tano?"

"Uh, yes, Master!" she stammered, and she could sense Anakin trying not to laugh. "Yes, I understand, but Maul is a danger to the Jedi, and the Republic. If someone could track him down, or capture him…" She didn't have anything else to say and this was probably the most embarrassing moment of her life.

"Master Skywalker, your Padawan she once was," Master Yoda said. "Your thoughts on the matter?"

"We cannot contribute many of our resources at the moment, but I do see Maul as a threat. Can we send a few people and a battalion over to Mandalore to check out the situation?" Anakin asked. Skyguy - you're a lifesaver! Anakin smirked through the Force.

Master Obi-Wan contributed, "Why not the 501st? They've shown that they're quite capable of handling a large creature with a lightsaber."

Suddenly, Master Fisto's hologram appeared in his seat, a look of urgency on his face. "Separatist blockade! Grievous has been in and out - with the Chancellor! I repeat, the Chancellor has been kidnapped and they're holding him on Dooku's ship, the Invisible Hand. Reinforcements are needed in the air immediately."

Chatter started quickly as soon as the transmission ended.

"The Chancellor has been kidnapped?" Ahsoka gasped.

Plo Koon shook his head. "Coruscant hasn't been attacked in over a thousand years. Why now?"

Master Windu stood up and held out his hands. "We have to send help in the air for Master Fisto. I nominate Masters Kenobi and Skywalker for the job. Take the 212th pilots and infiltrate the Hand." Ahsoka and Anakin both looked at each other in surprise.

Anakin started, "Master, with all due respect, what about Maul? Mandalore?"

Before Windu could protest, Yoda said, "Take the 501st, Knight Tano will. Find Maul and apprehend him, you will. If find him you do not, return immediately."

She bowed. "Thank you. I promise I will succeed, Masters." She walked out of the Council Room with Anakin at her side.

"Rex," said Anakin through his comlink.

"Yes, General Skywalker?" replied Rex.

"Pack up the men and be prepared for Ahsoka to inform you of your mission. You're going to Mandalore to hunt a guy with red skin and black tattoos."

"Er, of course, sir, but the Chancellor's been kidnapped, and - "

Anakin rolled his eyes. "Yes, I know, Rex. We've got that under control."

"Alright, sir, I'll meet the Commander in GAR Bay 15." Although Ahsoka was a Knight now, she kept her status as Commander.

"There you have it, Snips," Anakin teased, using her old nickname. "You're off to Mandalore." He put a hand on her shoulder affectionately. "May the Force be with you."

"And with you, Anakin," she smiled. As she began to walk away, her old master called out.

"Be careful, Ahsoka," he said. "Maul is tricky. And he has no mercy in him at all."

"I remember," she replied, trying to scrape up some of the brashness that had earned her the nickname 'Snips' the first time they'd met.

"I know." Anakin rolled his shoulders, thinking of his own mission. "But… you know how I worry."

"What could happen?" she said sarcastically, finding it easier to act like her old self now, and then she found that she was smiling too.

Chancellor Sheev Palpatine sat in his "prison," though he like to think of it more as a throne. Everything was going as planned. War raging outside the window, two Jedi coming to his rescue...

"Chancellor." Obi-Wan Kenobi was walking over, along with his protege Anakin Skywalker.

"Are you all right?" Anakin said worriedly.

Putting on his Chancellor visage, he croaked, "Count Dooku." Indeed, Sidious's apprentice was standing there, escorted by two Super Battle droids.

"Ah, the master and his apprentice. How little things have changed," he taunted. He jumped down from the balcony as the two Jedi ignited their lightsabers.

"You won't get away this time, Count," Kenobi threatened. Finding this the right time, a fight ensued, lightsabers clashing and Force pushes by the Count. He caught Obi-Wan in a Force choke and sent him flying across the room. Growling, Anakin again dueled Dooku.

"I sense great fear in you, Skywalker," Dooku spoke. "You have hate, you have anger, but you don't use them." Anakin attacked with a newfound ferocity, suddenly cutting off both of Dooku's hands!

The Count of Serenno fell to his knees, and Palpatine internally cackled with glee. Anakin caught Dooku's lightsaber. "Good, Anakin, good," Sidious laughed. "I knew you could do it. Kill him." The Count looked over in terror. "Kill him now!"

"I shouldn't…" Anakin fought.

"Do it!" he shot back sternly.

"No!" Anakin bashed the Count's head with the hilt of his lightsaber, making Dooku fall unconscious. "I couldn't do it. It's not the Jedi way."

Palpatine sighed. "Very well… we will take him in." Suddenly, an explosion shook the ship. Anakin ran over and uncuffed the Chancellor from his restraints, then hurrying to check on Obi-Wan.

"Anakin, there isn't any time. We must get off the ship before it's too late - with Dooku." Palpatine urged.

"Obi-Wan seems to be alright." Anakin ignored his elder.

Palpatine looked around in worry. "Leave him, or we'll never make it!"

"His fate will be the same as ours!" the young Jedi protested. Palpatine gave in with submission not likely from a man like him.

They made their way to the elevator, Anakin lugging Obi-Wan and Dooku behind him.

Hmm, let's assume that Count Dooku was killed by clones in his prison cell during Order 66 because Palpatine ordered his death along with the Jedi. I don't want to deal with a character like Dooku in later chapters, even though I like his character. It's quite a challenge to write him! I also decided to not include the part with Grievous because I got bored of looking at the script.

Anyway, how did you like the time skip? I say that if there is no bombing of the Jedi Temple, Ahsoka becomes a Jedi Knight in the course of a month or two. Then Fives stuff, all Yoda's stuff, and then BAM! You're in RoTS. I discovered I'm not a good Clone Wars writer (though I'll work on it) and decided to go straight to the movies.

I hope you enjoyed this whole chapter, and remember: review! It means a lot to me and they inspire me to write. I have seven chapters ready to post!

May the Force be with you and God bless!
