If you didn't know already, Disney has agreed to make a live-action Percy Jackson tv show covering the first 5 books on Disney plus. Sorry, I didn't update last week, it was my birthday. I own none of the characters, they belong to Rick Riordan.

Percy POV:
Percy's stomach growled, shrinking to the size of a pea. He couldn't remember the last time he ate. Despite time being near-impossible to tell in the even, dim lighting of the pit, he figured he had been here for quite some time. Exactly how long, however, he had no idea. His sword in watch form, was no help, staying still whenever he looked at it, but was a completely different time when he looked at it just a heartbeat later. He had a gut feeling that told him he should know what time it was, but he didn't, and it was driving him crazy.
Every so often, maybe every hour if he had to guess, he would run into a horde of monsters, usually ranging in the hundreds. He would slaughter them all, getting some wounds in the prosses, but nothing life-threatening. He had ran out of Nectar and Ambrosia a while back, and his shirt had long since been ripped apart by monsters. Dressed in his pants, which more so resembled tattered shorts, his sneakers, and camp necklace, he continued trudging through the pit.
He wondered if the war was over by now. Probably, he mused. They only had a few weeks until Gaia rose, and he figured he had been in here longer than that. From what he had learned from the monsters that could speak, the doors were still open, but Gaia hadn't spoken for a while. That hadn't sat well with Percy. The fact that the doors were still open suggested that Gaia had won, and the world had been reclaimed, but why wouldn't she speak to the monsters? Percy shook his head. He didn't have much of a choice. He would find the doors of death, get to the mortal world, and kill Gaia, even if the world was already gone.
The landscape slowly changed as he walked, trees, living trees sprouted out of muddy soil, and a thick fog settled around him. Upon closer inspection, there was water. Real, liquid water. Not from any of the rivers, just regular water. Percy grinned and pulled out several liters of water from the dirt and had it hover in front of him. Flicking his wrist, the murky water turned clear, the pollutants ripped out. Forming it into the shape of a cup, Percy grabbed it and downed the whole thing.
A twig snapped, and Percys' eyes snapped to the surrounding swamp, his swords already drawn. Voices drifted in and out of the fog as Percy silently crept forward. The fog shifted, and Percy saw where the voices were coming from. A large group of monsters, maybe a hundred, had surrounded a large hut, made of bone and hide. Two specific monsters caught Percy's eye. The first was a massive drakon, easily the size of a train. The other, nervously eyeing the crowd of monsters, was a giant. It was on the smaller size, around 20 feet tall. It had rust-red skin, a large beard, and a leather tunic. It reached over and wrenched a tree out of the ground, before charging the drakon.
A row of dracanae drew their bows, aiming at the Giant. Percy charged, cleaving them down like bowling pins. Startled, the nearest monsters turned to face the new opponent. They, too, were cut down.
Percy glanced over at the giant to see it shove the tree down the gullet of the drakon. An arrow slammed into his left shoulder, bringing him back into his own fight. Growling, he snapped the shaft off and returned to his fight. He ducked under a sword and shoved riptide into the offending monster's gut. The giant, having dealt with the drakon, turned it's attention to the last dozen monsters. The monsters didn't last much longer.
The last monster fell, decapitated by Vengeance, and Percy looked the giant in the eyes. It looked curious more than anything, but Percy kept his swords out. It had half a dozen arrows stuck into its tunic and a bite mark from the drakon on its leg.
It gave Percy a once over before speaking, "A demigod in Tartarus? In any case, thanks for helping with those damned monsters. Come inside, you must be hungry."

For a giant in the pit of damnation, Damasen (as he introduced himself) knew how to cook. After patching up both their wounds, he had prepared a soup out of the remains of the drakon. After Percy had finished eating a few bowls, the giant looked at him expectantly.
"It is not every day that a demigod ends up in the pit. Tell me your story." And so Percy did. From the very beginning, no detail left out. Damasen listened patiently through the whole story, asking a few questions. When he finished, he looked at his host. "What about your story, then? You're obviously not on Gaias side, so what happened to you?"
He slumped over, and took a deep breath, "A long time ago, I was living among the humans on the Earth. I was born to oppose Ares, and hence, was peaceful. Gaia hated me for this and created the drakon that we fought earlier. It killed one of my humans friends, so I killed it. For avenging my friend, Gaia threw me down here, cursed to fight the same fight every day. Every day I wake up and fight the same drakon."
Percy sat up, a gleam in his eye, "Come with me. Break the curse." Damasen shook his head, conceded, "I cannot. If I do not kill the Drakon, it will return to the mortal world and terrorize it. Besides, even if I wanted to, I cannot leave this swamp. I cannot imagine any place other than this swamp. I long to see the sun and stars, but I cannot."
Percy flew up, the stool he was sitting on falling over, "Imagine the sky. The Stars. The Sun. Remember my face. Quit moping around here and free yourself. The drakon? Trap it, tame it, Something! It must be as tired as fighting as you are."
Damasen shook his head, "I am not a hero like you, demigod. I will not let you leave alone, however." He reached behind him and pulled out a leather satchel, "Food, water, a bedroll, and some bandages. You can rest, but you must leave in the morning."
Percy took the satchel, pulled out the bedroll, and curled up on it, drifting into Morpheus realm.
