Rays of Hope
Chapter 13th
Lee Stetson was squirming in his seat for the past ten minutes while he waited for the President of the United States. Sergeant Quintos has told him to relax on whether he wanted any water.
"Yeah, I do. But how am I supposed to be drinking?" Lee said to the sergeant telling the security officer to remove his cuffs in order to drink the water from the pitcher.
After he was done. The security officer was told to leave to wait outside with the president on his way down. "So tell me Sergeant am I under arrest?" Lee needed to know.
"No. This is a briefing Mr. Stetson with the president to be talking with you in a few moments," he said to the IFF agent.
Moments later there was a knock on the door with the President arriving along with the secret service with two of them moving inside with the president with a file in his hands before sitting down.
"Lee how are you doing?" he asked him with his hands folded after sitting down in front of him at the square table.
"I really don't know anymore Mr. President after being drugged for months until I finally realize just what the hell was going on with Gilbert and his Syria rebels connecting with me at the hospital. I am just glad that things were figured with Syria's attacking the Lawrence military base."
"And why we were able to remove the data disks before being taken by the rebels." The president had to say on the subject.
"Now, what since the rebels and Gilbert having been arrested?" Lee had to say to the president anxious to get out of here.
"Very true Lee. You're going to be talking to a therapist later after having something to eat and sleep. I know it's been a rough two months for you." he exclaimed with his words.
"And the end of my marriage with Amanda?" he emotionally cried out with his feelings.
"For which I am very sorry about Lee. Once you're able to talk with the base therapist. You're going to be flown back home and go from there." he responded with seeing the saddened look on his expression.
"What am I supposed to be talking about Mr. President?" Lee cried out.
"He or she is to make sure you're going to be alright Lee. Otherwise, you will need the sessions after the past few months here," he said to his operative and friend.
"Fine. But it was you that had told me that I had no choice in the matter for when it comes to the undercover mission?" HE SPAT OUT AT HIM WITH HIS ANGER.
"I said no such thing, Lee!. I gave you the option to work on the operation. I never forced you to do it until I had found out that there were moles working in the White House. It wasn't until recently that we were able to find out the complete truth." The president had to say on the subject.
Moments later Lee was escorted out of the interrogation room to head for the medical building to speak with Doctor Suriel Atkins a therapist for the entire base along with two of his assistants.
Lee had been steaming sitting on the outer office of the doctor. While a female secretary had been working on typing up a medical report on one of his new patients and including IFF Lee Stetson sitting.
Doctor Atkins called the outer office to let her know that he was ready for him now. She picked up the phone to let Lee know that he was able to go inside to talk.
Doctor Atkins has been working at the base for the past ten years as a therapist. His wife Anna is one of his assistants married for 25 years with one grown boy training to be an Air Force pilot.
Lee moves off the brown chair of the outer office to head inside the spacious office with the salt & pepper head of the doctor telling him to sit down after shaking his hand. His complete medical file was sitting on his lap after being downloaded from the computer terminal.
"Doctor, why am I here really?" Lee needed to say with his frustration.
"It was found Lee that your blood steam was found with several different drug alternating for where you were given changes with your memories, for where you were placed inside a Syria hospital until it was time for a Syril rebel was able to contact you," he said to him.
"I realize that now Doctor once I was contacted by Francine Desmond of IFF coming to Syril to search for me recently."
"Why do you think that those drugs really didn't work on you altogether?" he said to his new patient.
"I was told by the president of the United States to act this way that I wasn't able to remember in order to have those Syria's to contact me and ask me to join them for the attacks of the two military bases."
"And in the meantime with you going through with the president's orders. Your life had been ruin with your decision to leave IFF, Leaving your wife and child Lee Jr. after you had discussed a decision not to get involved in any further operations like this?" Doctor Aktin needed to say to his patient.
"Very true Doctor and for that, I regret every moment of that decision." Lee cried out with covering his face with grief.
"Why do you think you were forced with the president telling me that he offered not pushed you into doing the undercover operation?" he replied.
"That is where I remembered it that way Doctor. Unless like you say that maybe the drugs that were given to me had me see it that way in the first place?"
"That's very possible Lee Stetson?" he shifted in the seat of his spacious office.
