Rays of hope

Chapter 18th

"Mother it was very difficult to be around Lee at the diner. I just can't believe he's such a real mess from those drugs in his bloodstream?" she cried into her mother's shoulder. "I wanted to take him into my arms and kiss him. But I just couldn't," she replied.

"I am so sorry Amanda. Maybe Lee will try and figure out a way to find out the truth as to who actually did this to him?" what her mother has to say had merit with asking her a question.

"Do you think that Lee just might be going after those that messed him up and then head for Syria to finish up the job?" she commented ...

"I believe so. If I was Lee I would do the same since he trained me to think this way in the first place. Maybe I should ask Billy on whether I can go to Syria and back up Lee?" she commented to have her mother pissed off.

"Are you out of your mind Amanda with having to be pregnant? Maybe you should ask Francine and Robert to go along without having to say a word to Billy. I know that he is going to be pissed when he finds out?"

"Damn straight mother along with firing all of us and including myself. But nevertheless, I will call Francine and ask anyways."

Francine had been waiting for her husband Robert to come home from his fieldwork after she had come home from the doctor's finding out she is six weeks pregnant having been told by Doctor Angela Silvers. She was thrilled that she was pregnant. But she wasn't sure about her husband Robert.

She was drinking tea when the phone call came in from Amanda wondering what was going on?"

"Amanda how are you doing?" she had to ask with being concerned for the woman even though they were rivals for many years.

"I need to ask you and Robert a favor. Due to the fact, I think Lee is going to go against Billy's orders to head back to Syria in order to find those behind screwing up Lee's life."

"And what is this favor Amanda?" she choked on the words along with taking a deep breath.

"I want you and Robert to head back to Syria in order to keep an eye out on Lee and hopefully he won't get into further trouble. He needs help Francine even though we are divorced now. However, I still do love him a great deal in spite he took on the deep cover operation ordered by the President of the United States."

"I will talk with Robert and see what he had to say on the subject," she said to Amanda.

After hanging up the phone on Amanda. Robert having arrived home from his fieldwork after reporting to Billy Melrose. He found his wife sitting in the kitchen with the phone in her hand. He was curious as matter of fact.

He moves over to kiss his wife as if there was something on her mind. "What's going on Francine?"

She chuckles slightly. "Amanda called me for a big favor for which I had no idea to answer her at this point." she had taken in a deep breath.

"Why?" he asks with sitting down across from her.

"Does it has anything to do with Lee Stetson having to be set up?" This caught Francine's ear.

"No kidding! Amanda wants us to head back to Syria to help keep an eye out on Lee because of those rebels drugging him? It's a bad idea because it will cause our jobs, hers, and anyone else involved."

"The hell to our jobs! Lee and Amanda need our help no matter what jammed we get in. I will find out when the next flight to Syria will be and use the special debit card that won't be traced." he said with a smile and a kiss to have Francine pack for the both of them.

Meanwhile, Lee Stetson had made his reservation to have the flight take off in 12 hours. Robert received the same information while packing, eating, and sleeping for a little while. Even though Francine was scared to say anything to her husband.

She had called back Amanda Stetson having to be putting Lee Jr. to bed in the nursery. She had told her the news that the both of them were heading for Syria to keep an eye out on Lee. They will be changing their looks in order for Lee not recognizing them at all.

While they were laying down. Robert needed to ask his wife the one question that had been on his mind. "Francine did you see your baby doctor today?" he came out with it to have Francine on the defensive.

"I did see her Robert and she told me the good news. I am six weeks and getting bigger as time goes by. I am not coming with you, Robert. You're going alone to check an eye out on Lee. I can't be taking any chances this time with losing the baby. Understand?"

"Of course I do Francine. I can always call a friend of mine to come along. SINCE HE'S ALWAYS COMPLAINING ABOUT BEING BORED?" Robert jokes with kissing his wife with agreeing."By the way, I am glad about the baby. I want you to stay safe while I am gone, Francine?"

"But in the meantime, I am going to be keeping an eye out on Amanda while Lee and yourself are in Syria." she kissed him with Robert climbed her body since they still had the time before he leaves.

Seven hours later at Dulles International airport

Robert had placed a wig of grey hair long to hide his face along with the long black slacks and black shit long sleeve carrying a large suitcase with his personal belongings and permit in order to carry a weapon to show the security officers. He had told the officers that it was his work showing his badge working undercover.
