I don't know what to say, what expectation I have with this story or what not. This took only a stray thought, an amusing idea for its creation after remembering Lord of The Mysteries existed after finishing book 1 half a year ago. Enjoy I guess, as for my other stories? Sigh, I am lazy.

Chapter I: The Light

Somewhere deep into The Cosmos there was a young man with black hair, black eyes, a broad forehead, and a thin face hiding from Earth and more so from the eyes of those called the Great Old Ones while searching for the meaning of humanity.

There, standing in front of an anomaly on a desolate planet where life barely started, He watched with avid curiosity at the slightly glowing circle which piqued His interest, for it was not coming from Earth or any places in The Cosmos, that, He was certain of.

'A different plane? Or is it a different universe? And from a human? Amusing.' Or so He thought.

The spiritual energies emitted by the anomalous circle, which He believed to be of the summoning type, were faint at best, being only able to carry emotions and some stray thoughts through.

"Frustration. Sadness. Desperation and… Pride? How very curious." The corners of His mouth curled up into a smile after He spoke.

My name is Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière…

'Not Loenese, Dutanese or Feysac.' He thought while listening to the quiet whispers.

My Chosen familiar that exists somewhere in this vast universe…

'Not Jotun, nor Dragonese.'

My divine, beautiful, wise, powerful familiar.

'Too long for Elvish and too different from Mandarin.' His smile grew bigger.

Heed my call! I wish from the very bottom of my heart and add to my guidance and appear!

"This seems very interesting. And it is so much more exciting than the real world or The Cosmos." He said as His expression turned neutral.

"But that won't do, little girl." He raised His hand and grabbed, before pinching His right eye rim.

"And be careful what you wish for Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière."

Just as He said these words, both He and the circle vanished, leaving nothing behind except for the various eyes staring from the darkness of The Cosmos at where He once stood and the perverse and horrible transformations the simple lifeforms of the planet were now enduring as the Moon was bleeding red, slowly turning them into unspeakable abominations.

In the courtyard of the Tristain Academy of Magic, a group of students were huddled together, performing the traditional Springtime Summoning Ritual of a familiar.

"Alright, I believe that everyone has performed the summoning familiar ritual." Said Professor Colbert, a bald man in his late 40s, as he was looking around at the students and at their respective familiars.

Yes. Everyone except a certain pink haired girl who was praying not to be noticed.

Unfortunately, her prayers were left unanswered. "Oh teacher, Louise hasn't summoned her familiar." Said a certain red haired girl with a lizard by her side.

"Ah! Thank you Miss Zerbst." He thanked towards the red haired Germanian before turning towards the pink-haired girl. "Now, Miss Vallière, if you could."

Louise glared with anger at the annoyance that is Zerbst, for only a moment before calming down and gulping as she approached the summoning circle at Colbert's beckoning, praying she will not fail again.

Taking a deep breath Louise started her chant, "My name is Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière… My Chosen familiar that exists somewhere in this vast universe…" 'Please… Let this work!' Louise whispered in her head.

"Did she change the chant?"

"At least the Zero has originality."

"Hah! Just wait and prepare for the explosion."

She ignored the numerous insults addressed at her person as best as she could but some still managed to pain her.

"My divine, beautiful, wise, powerful familiar." 'Anything… please let me summon anything!' "Heed my call! I wish from the very bottom of my heart and add to my guidance and appear!"

As the last syllable left her mouth Louise was almost thrown backwards as a burst of hot smoke exploded from where she had pointed her wand.

"That's the Zero for you! Haha"

"Proof she has no talent!"

"Zero magic, Zero talent!"

'NO, no, no! This can't be happening!' she fought against the tears that were so close to appear. 'No! Calm down Louise! Remember! Rule of Steel!'

Before more mockery could continue Colbert glared at his students, even he was angry at the so called 'future nobles' disrespect towards one of their own.

His glare seemed to achieve the intended effect as eventually everyone turned quiet. He then turned towards the Vallière girl, who was dusting herself, with what could be called pity in his eyes.

Louise, after managing to somewhat suppress her emotions turned towards the Professor with pleading eyes.

"Professor Colbert, please let me try again!" she asked with a slight sadness in her voice.

Colbert was uncertain on what to do. He knew how the Vallière girl never managed to cast a spell successfully even if she had such high potential, but, she never let that stop her. He shouldn't give the girl any useless hope but his heart relented.

As such he simply nodded at the Valliere girl.

Once again she started her chant, but something strange happened, words, sentences entered her mind in a language she did not know.

"The Clock-hand that tampers with Time,

The Shadow that roams across Fate,

The Embodiment of Deceit and Trickery.

"Another different chant?", "So it will fail like the earlier attempt!", "I don't know guys but… why does it feel… different?", "…" Many whispers started between the students.

Heed my call! I wish from the very bottom of my heart and add to my guidance and appear!"

Just like last time, after finishing the chant Louise was once again enveloped in smoke.

"By the Founder Louise! Can you only summon explosions or are you trying to kill us?!"

"This has to be the biggest explosion so far!"

"Ha ha, told you! She can't cast any spells at all!"

"Sigh my robe is now full of sooth… but she will probably get expelled now."

'No! No! It can't! I can't!' She stared, she stared at her feet, at her wand gripped in her hand while holding back the tears as an emptiness started to feel her at the realization that, she, failed.

Colbert just sighed as he took everything in. The explosion, the laughing mockery most students were throwing at the pink haired girl, the disbelief on said girl's face. He'd seen them all in his years as a professor and it saddened him every time he had to break it to them.

"I'm afraid Miss Vallière that you faile…" Jean Colbert just stopped as he narrowed his eyes towards the center of the explosion, which was the center of the summoning circle.

Everything turned silent as the smoke started to clear, prompting Louise to look at what happened and her eyes went wide.

There, in the middle of the circle stood a young man with black hair, black eyes, a broad forehead, and a thin face, dressed in some sort of robes of good quality and a wizard hat while looking around with an expression between amusement and curiosity.

"Did the Zero summon? A hermit?"

"Doesn't he look like a mage?"

"It could as well be a merchant."

"Ha? Knowing the Zero, she probably summoned a commoner! Or better, a hermit commoner!"

While the students' awe turned to indifference, mockery or simple curiosity, Louise was full of disappointment. She wanted a powerful familiar, like a dragon, instead she got someone who is presumably a commoner.

However, Professor Colbert and a blue haired girl had anything but these emotions.

'…Something is wrong… I am sure of it. But what?' He was so enthralled in his thoughts that he failed to notice Louise asking him a question.

"-an I try again?"

"…sorry?"

"Can I try again the summoning ritual Professor Colbert?"

"I am sorry but I can't allow that. The Summoning Ritual is a sacred practice and it would be sacrilegious to do so." He said, wariness in his eyes as they moved from the Vallière to the young man.

'I know the consequences of what will happen if that young man is a noble or someone important but my gut feeling is telling me to finish this as soon as possible…'

Louise, dejected, approached the young man at a slow peace. And when she arrived in front of her soon-to-be familiar she sighed.

'At least I've summoned something… even if it is just a commoner… this proves that I am NOT a Zero.'

"Be grateful commoner for you will have the honor of serving me, Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière."

"Of course." Replied the soon-to-be familiar with a small smile.

'He is smart enough it seems.' Louise thought while bringing up her wand.

"Pentagon of the Five Elemental Powers, grant your blessings upon this creature and bind it as my familiar." She said before kissing him.

'Now… that this is done with I shou-' her line of thought was interrupted by a searing pain, cursing through her body like electricity, but being most dominant on her right hand.

"Ahhhhh!" Louise screamed, clenching her hand hard in an attempt to make the pain stop, looking with tears in her eyes at the runes being engraved on her hand.

And just after a moment the pain vanished, leaving only a phantom trace that it ever existed and the engraved runes on her hand which she could not decipher.

Everyone was silent, they couldn't believe it. They couldn't understand what happened.

A summoned being meant to become a familiar… became the master? Absurd! It was so absurd that the majority of the students chose to ignore the implications and decided to make fun of the unfortunately pink haired girl. And when the realization came crashing down on the said girl, she despaired.

'NOOO! NO! No… No… this! This is impossible! This can't be happening… I am such a failure that I can't do anything right?! Why…'

But, the few who remained silent realized the grim implications of what this meant. Some more than others.

"…Who… who are you?" finally asked Colbert, gripping his wand so hard that it could snap in two, while sweat started to form on his head.

'Reversing a binding contract between a summon and a summoner is unheard of! This person… is dangerous. Is he a master mage at contracts and runes?'

While most decided to fool themselves of the event that happened in front of their eyes, the few who thought they understood the situation… Unfortunately, they not even grasped half of what transpired.

'High square class…? Might be beyond even that…'

The young man turned towards the Professor, the corner of his mouth curling up into a smile and responded.

"Amon"

And done. At least for chapter I. Please let me know if some characters feel odd or if I did not get them right.
Now, why Amon? Why not Alistar Tudor? Roselle Gustav? Cheek? Adam? or some dead gods? I thought about that for a while before settling on Amon. A reason is his terrifying presence I guess. People will remember Amon first before God Almighty.
Anyway. Some might point out that Amon is a bit too... passive which I kinda understand, but this is after book 1, where he, well he lost. His attitude changed (if only a bit) + new world + curiosity + interesting + humanity.
I already wrote the plots for a few more chapters (if they have each between 2k and 4k words that is)
Also note: Amon is overpowered but he is a deceiver! Not a fighter so the events will play... entirely different.
(Please leave some feedback, what should be improved, what should be added, removed, etc. It gives me a bit of a push I guess if people are interested and I might as well continue writing a few more chapters - chapter II will arrive surely at most a week after this was posted)
