The Ordeal (Final)

Two days passed and Aaron and Trapinch had made camp for the night. Trapinch was always hunting for food. It was very good at surprise attacks and making pitfalls for its prey. Aaron had run out of food a while back and had to eat some of the Pokémon that Trapinch had hunted that he had deemed as non poisonous. He was truly thankful for this Pokémon as it would share its food.

He initially forgot about analyzing it but it had once again exceeded his expectations.

Trapinch (Female)

Strength: Junior

Moves: Sand Attack, Astonish, Laser Focus, Bite, Mud-Slap, Dig, Bug Bite(EGG) and Quick Attack (EGG)

Truly an amazing Trapinch stat wise. He was lucky that she was a glutton when it came to food.

Aaron was keeping an eye out as the sun was about to fall when he felt the ground shake. He immediately dove away from his spot while swinging the knife in his hand. When the knife hit the attacker all Aaron heard was a ting seemingly like it hit metal. His backpack and medicine was completely destroyed. Trapinch had immediately dug underground and started its prep to counterattack its new enemy. Aaron's whole body shook from the impact and when he looked back he was startled to what had attacked him. It was a Krookodile. It seemed that it was enraged as it kept staring at Aaron and ignoring the little Trapinch. It had large injuries all over its body.

"Crap is that the Krookadile that fought the Flygon. I thought we didn't have to deal with him anymore."

Krookodile mocked Aaron with its wide toothy smirk. It knew that this human was the one that hurt its underlings as he could smell the faint smell of his clans blood. Because of that he had to let his subordinates heal at the underground spring where they where surprised attacked by the arrogant dragon. He was mad if this human was not there would his group still be wiped out? It didn't know but it came for revenge. It then turned to the little Trapinch that was trying to bite its tail. It smirked somehow it felt similar to that Flygon it had lost with. It then whipped its tail sending it flying towards the Human.

Trapinch was knocked out cold and Aaron was scared but he composed himself as he vowed to not go down without a fight. He tried to exert his willingness to battle under the incredible pressure of the elite tier Pokémon. Krookodile made the first move and slashed out at him with his claws they where surrounded in a type of dark energy. Aaron immediately tried to parry and then dived to the side. His knife was slashed in half and was thrown away from him. He felt a un holy amount of pain coming from his chest. He looked down to see his clothes ripped and blood flowing out of a claw mark.

Aaron couldn't fight this monster head on so he took off in the opposite direction from where Trapinch was flung. He headed towards another monster that they had previously spotted and tried to avoid. Aaron looked back at the Krookadile who was slowly gaining ground. It seemed already deeply injured so it was not as powerful as it was previously but it was still to powerful for him. He saw a small rumbling of sand near his feet. Aaron smirked he then turned around and chucked the remaining half of his knife at it. Krookadile just opened its mouth and bit down shattering it into tiny pieces. While Krookadile's mouth was open Aaron threw one of the Pokéball he had in his pocket. It hit Krookadile in the stomach and sucked him in. Aaron sighed in relief as he saw the sand near him stop moving.

The ball blinked once

Twice then it opened and Krookadile came out more angry than before and smashed the Pokéball to smithereens.

Aaron stood still and waited when Krookadile was within a couple feet he started to move towards him then all of a sudden he dove on the ground. A purple blur raced passed his head and onto the arm of Krookadile. Krookadile roared and threw off his attacker. It hen tried to focus his attention back to the human but its knees buckled.

Aaron almost started celebrating but waited till Krookadile ended his struggling and fainted. He then quickly tossed another Pokéball and it sucked the Pokémon in.

Krookodile was caught. Aaron sat in the sand and laughed. "What the heck? I didn't think that would work.. He then looked at the Pokémon who was now recovering from being tossed by the elite Pokémon. It was another mutated Scourpi that had potent poison. It seemingly recovered quickly and looked around and immediately escaped into the sand.

"Too bad I only have one ball left for Trapinch or I would of caught you he said to the Scourpi." Aaron dragged himself over to his previous camp and found some broken potion bottles that had some medicine in it left. He then poured some of it on the open claw wounds and tied strips of clothes around himself. He then walked towards Trapinch and poured the rest of the medicine into its mouth and on its wounds. He then sat down and waited. Soon Trapinch seemed to wake up and slowly move looking around and when it saw Aaron it got excited and slowly moved to him.

Aaron chuckled and brought out his final Pokéball and said "Trapinch you have been a great help you can take a rest and recover a bit in here if you want so you don't get hurt the rest of the way. It nodded and pressed the ball with its foot providing no resistance to being caught. Aaron then smiled but then he looked up and saw the setting sun.

He frowned he was at least five or 6 hours walk away form the city based on when he memorized a couple land marks from the map. He sighed and put the two Pokéballs in his pocket and stretched his still usable arm and started to trudge in the direction of the city.

A C rank trainer was doing his morning patrol when he thought he saw something. He rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things. He didn't have any trainers pass through the gates this morning or last night. As he got closer he yelled "Halt Identify yourself"

The slumped person didn't move and was curled up next to the gate. As the guard got closer the more he could see. He immediately called for back up. Their was a young trainer clutching two Pokéballs as if he was afraid that they will disappear. He seemed to be uncouncous and curled up next to the gate. There where large gashes all over his body in addition to some of his wounds seeping darker blood obviously poisoned. The worst part was that on his chest was a large claw mark that extended from his shoulder down to his hip. It was matted with some dark substance that looked like clay.

Quickly reinforcements arrived along with a gym leader from Instinct who was now shocked as he remembered this boy. He was the one that slightly interested him and never came back from his ordeal 5 days ago. He quickly told the trainers "Immediately bring him to the Center for treatment."

Aaron was having a horrible night mare reliving traveling through the desert unguarded at night. Suddenly he felt immense pain and sat straight up. Immediately his vision changed to that of

A small clean room and bed that smelled like disinfectant. He was hooked up to a machine which had an IV drip.

He immediately started laughing "It seems I made it! I didn't die" He coughed a couple times and thought about the dream he just had. He had felt some kind of energy deep within him stir while he was in the dark. He didn't know what it was but he knew it had saved his life as it seemed to alleviate part of the pain.

Suddenly a nurse opened the door and was stunned she the yelled. making Aaron cover his ears. Soon his room got crowded by some trainers and nurses. Aaron could hardly concentrate with his ears still ringing.

Aaron just turned away and covered his head with his pillow. When he turned he saw two Pokéballs on his nightstand. His heart beat faster and he smiled "Guess I am a trainer now" he smiled cheekily.

Aaron was cleared from the Pokémon Center just two days after as his recovery time had greatly shocked the doctors and nurses. They all wanted to run some more tests on him but he insisted that he was fine.

He made his way to the Center's Barracks and found his bed. He looked around and saw that he was the only one left in the boy's barracks. He finally got some good sleep as he was not being checked up on by the nurses every half and hour.

When he woke up after a couple hours he immediately threw on his only pair of clothes that the center gave him as all his other possessions except his watch where destroyed. He reported to the Instinct Gym.

When he arrived he actually was brought directly to the gym leader who was inside the arena. When Aaron arrived he saw the three Gym Leaders discussing something on the battlefield. The Instinct leader just seemed bored, the Valor leader seemed like he was boasting and the Mystic Leader just seemed cold. Aaron hesitated but then made his way over to the three most powerful people of Junction.

When Austin saw Aaron approaching his constantly bored expression immediately turned to one of interest. The other leaders saw this then looked over to the approaching trainer.

Aaron arrived infront of the group and stated his purpose "Candidate Aaron here to receive his E- Rank License." The Valor Leader snorted as this candidate had only just passed the trial.

Austin smiled and nodded. Yes we have registered your two Pokéballs to your trainer ID. He then rummaged through his pockets and pulled out a card. "I thought you might come over here today."

Aaron "Thank you sir"

He nodded and smirked but then his face turned serious "Now I would like to know how you survived outside the walls for so long."

The Mystic Leader spoke up in a cold tone "What do you mean Austin?"

Austin "What I mean is how this kid survived his Ordeal in the Northern Dessert for four nights."

The eyes of the other two gym leaders bulged at the statement and looked at Aaron again this time seriously evaluating him.

Aaron sighed he then recalled how he was given the goggles, traveled for a couple hours opposite of the mountains without finding many Pokémon and the only ones that he could find where way to dangerous and powerful to get any where near. He then recounted how he was ambushed by a Pokémon and it badly poisoned him after one attack.

The Gym Leaders grimaced and Austin thoughtfully said "It either sounds like a scorupi or a Drapion as they are the main ambush predators within that desert. You got lucky kid it was probably a Scorpi if it was a Drapion you wouldn't be here right now. 95% of the kids who do the ordeals in the North Desert do not make it back. This time we thought it was a good that two of the three made it. Now that all three made it back it is outright unheard of."

Aaron sighed out and thought 'Seems like Claire made it back'. He then told them about spending the night in the cave and how he was terrified of the Creatures that came out at night which the Valor Gym Leader Bruce responded "Fu** just how are there so many strong creatures in the desert still?" He turned to Austin "You have been sending hunting parties to kill some of those high ranks right?"

Austin just nodded and sighed. "Yes but each time they go out they seem to loose a Pokémon or a member and my elite team has to slowly rebuild its power."

Mystic Leader Candice "Continue"

Aaron nodded he then talked about after he recovered that night he made his way till he saw a pack of Sandile feasting. He then talked about running for his life and how he tried to escape them. He told them that he luckily got sucked into a underground cavern and about the copious amount of ghost Pokémon along with the extremely large watering said he couldn't tell how much time had passed wandering in the darkness till he found that spot where the spring was. He omitted the fact about the ruins. Aaron then narrated about how the group of Sandile with the leader Krookodile and the numerous underlings and how they where ambushed by a Flygon and its troops.

He then caught a Trapinch on the very edge that was weakened and escaped the way the Pokémon came in. He then wandered the desert trying to find his way back when he felt he was being followed. Aaron had have a shaky voice at the start but as he gradually recalled the scenarios he settled down.

He then underplayed his fight with the injured Krookodile and how he used a Pokéball to distract it and said that it was ambushed by a Drapion and badly poisoned and when the Drapion got hurt by a desperation attack by Krookodile it fled. Krookodile then lost energy and with his last Pokéball he actually caught it.

This made the jaws of the three Gym leaders drop. The details of the story and the fight that he recalled where so vivid and they could see he was scared because at parts he stuttered and trembled. When he said he caught the Krookodile and spent the night without any shelter and made it back to the city they couldn't help but appreciate the determination to survive.

There was a silence as the three leaders processed what this young man was saying. The Valor Gym Leader smiled and bellowed "Kid I like you. you have guts why don't you join my guild?"

The Mystic Leader was snapped out of her trance and countered " Your thoughts are very cohesive and quite analytical and you would be a perfect fit in my Guild. We'll even give you A-Rank Potential Evaluation with Benefits. Anyone who might have experienced what you did would most likely had died."

Austin sighed "I will give you the same offer."

Valor Leader "I will do the same in addition I will give you an egg of my Charizard."

Aaron was stunned by all the offers and really didn't know how to respond. He thought for a while and under the gazes of the Gym Leaders said "I thank you all for your interest but I believe it is better for me to not join a Guild as of yet. I still don't know how I am as a trainer and I need some time to develop by myself before I would want to join a guild"

The leaders where actually stunned at the rejection. Not many trainers would reject them and along with receiving the benefits and resources of the Guilds.

Austin just chuckled. Well it doesn't matter right now but our guilds will be open to you anytime. While the others nodded quietly.

Aaron was about to turn away when he stopped and thought of something. He then asked the leaders "Would you all mind if you could help me out a bit?"

Bruce(Valor) "What do you need brat?"

The other two where also curious.

Aaron took a deep breath and explained "Since I caught the Krookodile and have a feud with it I don't think I can tame him. He is very powerful and I was wondering if you can suppress it. I would give it to the city state for free but I am flat broke right now so I was wondering if the three of you might be interested in purchasing it."

The three leaders eyes sharpened at that. They all thought the kid might be exaggerating at the Pokémon's power and completely forgot that he had actually caught it. It would not be good for a newbie trainer to have such an uncontrollable Pokémon. Worse came to worse they could give it to one of their guild to tame.'

The three silently nodded and each one of them picked a Pokéball from their waist and released their Pokémon.

A monstrous Charizard came out followed by a Beautiful Aloan Ninetails and lastly a very large Luxray.

Aaron was stunned he could feel the pressure put out by these Pokémon was anything but ordinary. He could feel the most pressure from Charizard.

The three leaders where also slightly stunned as Aaron seemed to withstand the pressure of their Pokémon.

Aaron then picked the Pokéball from his belt and tossed it up and released Krookodile.

KROOOOOKODILLLLLE!

A Large Red and Black Crocodile Pokémon who stood on two legs appeared in the center of the gym. It looked as it was about to fight and sent out its bloodlust and pressure. But nothing went like it thought. Its pressure was immediately countered by the three Elite tier Pokémon.

It immediately became vigilant and stared down its three foes.

The gym leaders where surprised and the Valor leader laughed "Brat you really weren't joking about this. I thought you where exaggerating its strength but it seems to have just broken into Elite tier. This is definitely an amazing Pokémon and I can see the eagerness to fight. I want it."

The other two where equally as amazed at the level of this monster and replied

Austin "It won't work well on my team."

Candice "Nope Ninetails doesn't like it"

Valor laughed and nodded to his Charizard who exerted even more pressure and stepped out to confront the Pokémon.

Within 30 seconds and a small battle Krookodile submitted to the Gym Leader. And you could see the desire to get stronger which the leader of Valor promised it. Aaron then came around and watched Krookodile vigilantly and it also recognized Aaron but it couldn't do anything to him even though it couldn't accept how he was captured. Aaron then handed the Pokéball to the Gym Leader who returned him to his Pokéball.

"Haha my team is even stronger now! All thanks to you brat. I will send you the compensation in a little while. He then smirked provockily at the other leaders. And asked "Any one want to battle?"

The two immediately declined.

The Leader of Valor shrugged and left the gym.

"I don't know how that Brute became so strong. Well anyway Aaron right? You are always welcome at Mystic." She then nodded and returned her Pokémon and left the gym.

Aaron looked and turned to Austin who had gone back to his lazy demeanor and was leaning on his now sleeping Luxray. He then said " Aaron you have potential don't waste it. Only 37 of the 45 children took the Ordeals survived. This is a very large number compared to past years. All of the others have already been promoted to D rank and have joined some Organization or Guild. Slow Progress is still Progress. Lay a good foundation and then sometime in the future lets have a good battle." He then waved his hand to send Aaron off. Luxray opened one eye and looked at the kid who his trainer thought highly of.

Aaron then immediately left and when he did Austin laughed "Those two idiot Leaders they think he only has minimal A-rank Potential. He probably is a Disaster Rank potential. Haha and it seems he woke a Hidden Power also of the Darkness Attribute, how rare. This world gets more and more interesting."

Suddenly Austins face began to be covered in light specks and when the light dispersed a clown mask appeared smiling from Ear to Ear.
