Chapter Two:

J.T. stumbled backward, away from the knights that surged forward, swords drawn, "Bad move Jeremiah," he grumbled as he dodged a blow from one of the swords.

There was a loud shout and something purple appeared out of nowhere, slashing angrily at one of the knights, "Go I got this," the Purple Ranger shouted, swinging her long spear with the curved blade at its end effortlessly.

J.T. didn't have to be told twice, he ran as quickly as he could to the nearest building the storage unit. Someone had already opened the garage-style door. He quickly ducked inside and slid the door closed, "Great if it was one of those knight creatures than I just shut myself up with them." he bemoaned, as he took a step backward. Something cold pressed against his back causing him to jump and whirl around, his heart pounding. A knight was standing behind him, blankly staring at him. What was going on? Why wasn't he attacking?

J.T. lashed out with a cry, kicking the knight hard in the chest, an odd, hollow sound rung out causing J.T. to chuckle nervously as he picked up the helmet that he had knocked off, it was just a suit of armor.

He reached into his pocket, retrieving his cell phone, he shook it slightly activating the flashlight mode. The Storage Unit looked more like a museum exhibit than a school's storage room. Old fashion weapons and shields hung on the walls, there were several suits of armors, and in the center of the room in a glass display case was a golden goblet with gems.

"What kind of school am I attending?" J.T. demanded as a loud clattering noise caused him to jump up into the air. He whirled around, his hand reaching out to grab something that he could use for a weapon among the rack of medieval weapons.

He grunted as he lifted the great war hammer over his head, "Who's there?" he called out, "I'm warning you, I'm armed and dangerous." With that, he staggered forward a couple of steps as he locked his elbows to keep the ancient hammer up over his head.

"Yeah," someone snorted, "I can see that," the voice sounded familiar, so familiar that J.T. dropped the war hammer, which landed on his toes.

"Ow ow ow," he cried out jumping up and down in pain, rubbing the assaulted foot, "Sara is that you?" he demanded as he glared at the same red-headed girl he had helped earlier.

"Yeah," Sara said, smirking as he jumped up and down on one foot, "What were you planning to do if I was one of those Knight creature things, drop the hammer on their foot?"

"Haha," J.T. said, "You're so funny I forgot to laugh. So are you in here alone or did you come in here to hide with all your little friends? Oh wait, you don't believe in friends."

"Sara where did you go?" a new voice, another female called out as there was a thud as whoever was calling out walked into one of the displays in the dim light.

Sara perked her head up, "I'm over here Melody looks like we aren't the only ones who decided to hide in here. If anyone else is hiding in here they better come out before J.T. here drops a hammer on them by accident."

J.T. was about to protest when another girl with long dark brown hair that fell loosely down her back walked up to stand next to Sara.

"So who's your friend?" she asked, her voice rich and melodic,

"This is J.T.," Sara said jerking her head to J.T. "And this," ahead jerk to Melody, "is Melody."

"For someone who doesn't do friends, you make friends fast," J.T smirked,

"Melody's my roommate, not my friend," Sara insisted with a roll of her doe colored eyes,

There was a loud scraping noise which caused J.T. to raise his hammer up above his head, "Who's there?" he shouted.

"There are...n't a...a...any mo...mon...monsters out there, are there?" a hesitant voice called out, as a head full of brown hair peered out from underneath an old desk.

"I think we're safe," J.T. offered, holding out his hand, "I'm J.T. and these two lovely ladies are Sara and Melody, and you are?"

"Frank," the teenager said, his brown eyes darting left and right nervously, "are you sure that there aren't any monsters in here?"

"Fairly certain," J.T. said, "But if they do break-in, there's enough weapons in this place to make any monster think twice."

There was a loud rumbling sound, as the light in the room increased drastically, someone had opened the door. J.T rose his hammer once more, only to lower it as another student appeared, sweat glistening off his forehead, closing the door behind him, "I'm Mason," he offered.

"You're that spiked haired kid that gave me that lecture about longbows!" Sara exclaimed.

"Sorry," he said, scuffing his toes on the ground, "Everyone says that I'm a bit of a know-it-all."

"So you know about Longbows," J.T. said, "Great, might come in handy if we ever need to hunt for food."

Just then the door to the storage unit shook as a loud thud filled the room, "Those monsters are going to break down the door," Frank squealed, diving under the weapon rack.

"Come on, Frank," J.T. groaned, rolling his eyes as he crouched down to talk to the hiding boy, "They don't even know that we're here."

"And they never will if we hide," Frank pointed out with a whimper.

"Or we use the element of surprise to fight them back!" J.T. suggested hefting the war hammer up.

The door rattled again, the whole building shaking at the force of the blow.

"That door is metal," Melody insisted, "It could take them all day to break it down using brunt force."

"Isn't there some sort of emergency exit," Frank asked wiggling out from the weapons rack, at ease to know that their hiding place wouldn't be discovered any time soon.

"I doubt it," Mason announced, "This is a storage unit emergency exits aren't required by law."

"But there might be," Sara interrupted, giving Mason a deathly glare that her grandfather told her that she had inherited from her mother, "I say let's split up and see if we can't find any exits that aren't having a battering ram ramming into it."

Melody turned to the rack of weapons before selecting a javelin from it, "Okay let's spread out."

"I want a weapon too..." Frank announced, pulling out a long sword, which he could barely lift.

Sara carefully selected a bow and quiver of arrows before Mason selected a metal bludgeon from the rack. If there was another way out of the storage room, then they might not be the only ones looking for it.

Looking for another way out had seemed like a good thing five minutes ago when they discovered the Dark Knights trying to force the main door open. Now Sara was questioning their decision, and her decision to select a bow and arrow from the weapon rack.

She quickly dodged behind a large stack of boxes trying to put some distance between her and the invading Dark Knights that had found the side door to the storage unit before they could. Why had she chosen a long-range weapon?

There was a loud thud as Melody was thrown against the wall to her right. Several shields that hung there swayed drastically, One of them fell off their peg and slid across the room to land at Sara's feet. The shield looked like a normal shield, except that there seemed to be an indent in the center as if it was missing something. She reached down to pick it up when suddenly a bright pink glow filled her eyes.

...Ten Years Ago…

Four-year-old Sara rushed into her mother's room, "Mommy, Mommy," she cried out as she carefully climbed up onto the bed.

Kimberly smiled weakly as she pulled herself up into a seating position, "What is it, Sweetheart?"

"Look what I found at the store!" Sara said, holding up the old beat-up action figure that she had begged her grandfather to buy her at the second-hand store, "A blue ranger."

Kim smiled softly as she picked up the action figure, stroking it thoughtfully, "His name was Billy," she said, "and he was really smart."

"Mommy, what was it like for Billy when he became a power ranger."

"I don't know," Kim paused to let out a cough, "I know for me, the first thing I remember was a glow, a pink glow. Billy..." she tapped the action figure of the original blue ranger with a thin pale finger, "probably saw a blue glow."

"Do all Power Rangers see a glow?"

"I don't know," Kim confessed, leaning back into her pillows, "I'm afraid I lost contact with the power rangers when I moved to Florida."

The sound of shattering glass pulled Sara out of her memory, she was going to become a power ranger within the next few minutes.

"Sara, what's going on?" Melody's voice sounded close in her ear, "What are you wearing?"

Sara looked down in confusion, her shorts and t-shirt had disappeared and was replaced by a pink tunic and gray leggings. "I don't..." she turned around to face Melody only to freeze, Melody was dressed the same way she was, only her tunic was blue, another shield placed securely on her arm, "Did you just see a blue glow?" she asked.

"Yeah, how did you know?"

"I don't know for certain, but my mom once told me that power rangers see a glow right before they become power rangers."

"How does your mom know that?"

"She had me convinced she was a power ranger, I was four, I believed her."

Suddenly there was a shout, as something was flung into the air and hurled right at Sara's face. Sara reached out and caught it, it was a golden goblet with gems encrusted along the lip, one of them was pink… and was calling to her. Without really thinking about what she was doing she popped the gem off the goblet and slipped it into the crevice on her shield. A rush of energy flowed through her as if she had just opened a flood gate, Her whole body vibrated with power, and then she was staring out of a tinted visor.

Once more her outfit had changed, it was a jumpsuit made out of some form of spandex, it was pink with a white chest with a pink heart in the center, She was a pink power ranger. She groaned, she hated the color pink.

...

Sara was still confused about what had happened, one minute she and the others had been fighting Dark Knights, the second the Dark Knights were fleeing from five full-fledged power rangers, her among them. After the Dark Knights had fled a purple ranger appeared, led them back into the storage unit, and opened a secret passageway y pulling the suit of armor's visor up.

The tunnel had been long and windy before opening up in a clearing of a forest, Tents surrounded them and in the center of the clearing was a large round table.

"Welcome to The Encampment," the purple ranger announced, "The meeting place of the Legendary Mystical Power Rangers, please sit down." With that she gestered to the table.

Sara glanced at the table, before sliding into a pink chair, pulling her helmet off, which caused her uniform to transform back into the tunic and leggings from before.

Mason slid into the green chair, Frank into the red, Melody into the blue, and J.T. into the black one. The purple ranger, slid into the last chair, a purple one before removing her helmet.

"I'm Ms. Tammy Johnson, your English Teacher," she announced as her outfit disappeared to form a purple tunic and gray leggings.

"What just happened at School?" Frank demanded.

Tammy sat her shield on the table, "How familiar are you with the Legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table?"

"This is the table," Mason announced, "Isn't it?"

"Yes, and Morgana the evil sorceress that plotted against the Knights have awakened from a two thousand year exile," Tammy explained, "She wishes to finish what she started all those years ago in destroying Camelot."

"Where is Camelot anyway?" Melody asked.

"Nobody knows the exact location," Mason explained.

"The location of Camelot is lost in time, however the Holy Grail..."

"The mystical artifact that the knights were tasked with protecting from Morgana," Mason interrupted.

"Yes, and it is hidden somewhere on the school grounds." Tammy explained, "It is up to us to prevent them from getting it, for if Morgana was to drink from that enchanted cup, her powers would be restored and she'll become unstoppable."
