Mason shifted as he moved closer to the Shack, as everyone called it. The Shack was a separate Kitchen that prepared specialty meals for those students with special diets, which was why he was standing in line there instead of just selecting what he wanted from the buffet like the rest of his friends. At least he was just getting an almond milk, it would only take about a second, once his turn came, and then he could join his friends.
"Can I have your student id?" the lady in charge of the Shack asked the student in front of him.
"Student ID?" the girl screeched, "Don't you know who I am?"
"Someone who obviously needs to learn to read," The Shack Lady said, pointing to a large sign next to her that said, "Please have your ID out."
"The main buffet doesn't require an ID," the girl snarled, "All I want is an egg white omelet with mushrooms and spinach, all they have on the buffet is," the blonde shuddered, "carton eggs."
"I'm sorry, your Student ID cards allow me to assess your information."
"I don't have any allergies," the girl stated, "My Daddy pays good money for me to attend this school and I don't need to be told what I can and can't have."
"Guess what," Mason said leaning forward, "So does everybody else in this school, and we follow the rules. It clearly states on page twenty-five of the student handbook that the Shack requires ID and a pre-order on the school app."
"How dare you talk to me like that," Miss Rich Daddy exclaimed, "I am Stacy Sanders, Daughter of Steven Sanders, CEO, and founder of Sanders Inc."
"And my Uncle's a Paleontologist, big whoop," Mason exclaimed, "Now move to the back of the line."
"Just you wait until my daddy hears about this, you'll be sorry, just wait and see," Stacy scowled, flipping blonde hair that was from a bottle over her shoulder, gave Mason a dirty look, and flounced away.
Mason rolled his brown eyes and slid his ID over, "Just an Almond Milk," he requested.
The Shack Lady scanned the ID, which popped his name up and noted that he was lactose intolerant and had ordered almond milk. She smiled opened up a mini-fridge next to her and pulled out a small bottle of milk with his name on it.
…
Mason checked his schedule one last time, comparing the number on it to the door in front of him, this was it, his Honor Biology class. He cleared his throat nervously, straightening the green tie he had elected to wear with his school uniform, he was nervous, he was probably going to be one of the youngest students in this class, like with all the classes that he's ever done. There was a reason he got a scholarship to this school.
He walked into the classroom, it looked just like his uncle's classroom back in Reefside, high tables with stools, like any other science class. He laughed nervously to himself before selecting a seat as requested by the whiteboard.
"Excuse me," a high pitch voice from before called out, "That's my seat."
Mason groaned, Stacy Sanders, again, "The Whiteboard says sit anywhere," he pointed out, pointing to the whiteboard.
"I know and I want to sit there, so move!"
Mason rolled his eyes, he was sitting there and there was nothing Stacy Sanders could do to change that.
"If you wanted this seat you should have come in and picked it instead of standing around talking."
"Why you," Stacy's face turned bright red, "You don't even belong at this school, there's no way your Father can afford it, you're probably a scholarship student."
"So what if I am!" Mason said, standing up, not to give her the seat but to glower down at her by standing on the rails of the stool, "At least I have brains enough to make something out of myself and don't have to rely on someone else money."
"Why you Filthy Little..." Stacy sputtered.
"What is going on here!" a crisp voice demanded as Mr. Snikes, the science teacher entered the room, "Stacy sit down over there," he snapped pointing to a seat right next to his desk, "now."
Stacy opened her mouth, no doubt to say something that included the word Daddy in it, before deciding against it, it would be a bad idea to get detention during the first period on the first day of school, "I hope the monsters get you," she hissed leaning in so that only Mason could hear him.
"Trust me," Mason said so the whole class could hear, "The monsters won't want me, but they might make you their Queen."
...Somewhere deep within the forest…
Mordred glanced at the huddled form of his mistress, without her magical powers she was just a shell of herself. Soon, soon, he'll have the Holy Grail, all he had to do was get past those pesky power rangers. He needed a plan, some sort of plan.
He walked around the encampment at all the different creatures and monsters that they had, as well at all of the Dark Knights that where huddled around a small campfire, think, Mordred, think, there had to be something they could do. He needed to know more about the power rangers, their strengths and weaknesses, anything he could use towards their downfall.
He needed a spy, and he knew just the monster for the job, "Phantomcreep!" he called out.
There was a gush of icy cold air and then a chilling, raspy voice, "Yessss, My liege, you sssssummoned me?"
"Turn visible so that I can see you," Mordred snapped.
"Assss, you wisssh," the voice hissed as a black shadow appeared, looking at Mordred through white balls of flames that replaced his eyes.
"Go to that infernal school and watch the power rangers, find something we can use against them. Don't let them see you, and don't disappoint me!"
…Knight Academy Cafeteria…
Mason smiled as he slid into a seat next to his friends, "So you guys surviving your first day of classes so far?"
Melody sat down her slice of pizza, "Yep, I'm excited, I have Equestrian studies after lunch."
"What in the world is that?" J.T. asked, with a mouth full of burger, "It sounds like torture."
"It's horse riding lessons," Melody stated, "You can take it as a P.E. credit. I'm going to learn how to jump and barrel race and dressage."
"Dress… what?" Frank asked, glancing from one friend to another.
"Dressage," Mason repeated, "It's basically horse dancing and is really difficult to learn."
"Sounds like fun," Sara stated, stabbing at her food, "I have math next."
"Hey, your royal Majesty!" a voice called out, "There's a seat next to me, or do you not mingle with us, lowly peasants?"
Sara glanced over to a beautiful blonde holding a lunch tray and the tall jock that had called out to her, "That's Grant, he was in my French class this morning, he's the school quarterback, but I have no idea who that girl is."
"Stacy Sanders," Melody said, "She's a Sophomore I had her in my math class, from what others told me she and Grant were a thing until Stacy broke up with Grant for getting her fake diamond earrings."
"I kind of called her the Queen of Monsters in science," Mason confessed.
J.T. got a look on his face, one that the others would soon learn to fear, as he stood up, looked across the room to Stacy, and called out, "Hey Queen Stacy, When is the next monster attack going to be?"
…
"Queen Stacy?" Mordred repeated, "You sure about this?"
"Yesss, I heard ssseveral of the ssssstudentssss refer to her assss ssssuch."
"Of course, someone has to be in charge there, capture this Queen Stacy and bring her here," Mordred ordered, "Perhaps with the life of their queen in jeopardy they will consider a peaceful surrender."
…
"I can't believe you managed to get detention on the first day of school," Sara exclaimed as the five teammates walked together into their last class of the day, English the one class that all five of them had together with Ms. Johnson.
"It must be some sort of school record," Melody agreed.
"It was totally worth it to see Stacy's face," J.T. admitted with a smirk as they all slid into seats.
"Look," Melody said, "Stacy's in our class, weird this is a freshmen class, what is she doing here."
"Must have thought that her daddy could buy her an A," J.T suggested as the tardy bell rang.
The tardy bell had just barely rung when an icy cold breeze caused Sara to shiver, "Wished I thought to grab a sweater," she muttered, rubbing her arms for warmth.
"Where did that blast come from?" Mason questions looking around for the air conditioning.
"It wasn't from the A.C." Frank insisted, "it was blowing towards it, not from it."
Suddenly Ms. Johnson cleared her throats, "Do the three of you have something to share with the class?" she demanded.
"No," Melody insisted, "But he might," she said pointing to the shadow of Stacy's desk, it was about twice the size of the shadows of all of the other desks in the room. The shadow seemed to wriggle and squirm, until suddenly with another freezing burst of air it changed into a dark, shadow creature with white flaming eyes.
"You," the creature hissed, snatching Stacy up in an icy grip, "are coming with me your majessssty."
"No," Stacy cried out, trying and failing to break free from the monster's grip.
"If the Power Rangersssss, wisssh to sssssee their Queen again, they sssshould ssssssssssssurender." the creature announced, before simply disappearing again, taking Stacy with him.
When the monster had first appeared the whole class had frozen in fear, now that the monster had disappeared mass panic ensued to the point that nobody noticed when five members of the class slipped out of the room.
"Everyone, please," Tammy called out trying to get her class to calm down, "calm down and sit tight, I'm going to go tell Headmaster Knight what happened."
…
"Can't we just leave Stacy with the monster," Sara asked as she swung her booted feet up onto the round table, as soon as the monster had disappeared the five rangers had snuck out of the room and used the passageway to the Encampment that was hidden behind a large picture of the knights of the round table that hung on the wall across from their English class?
"Power Rangers protect everyone," Tammy announced, appearing through the tunnel, "The school's been placed on lockdown, now we just need to get Phantomcreep to come out of hiding. He's a tough one, he can turn himself invisible and travel through the shadows."
"So we need to draw him out into an open sunny spot that will prevent him from traveling around," Mason said.
"Exactly," Tammy agreed, "I can't stay, I need to get back to my classroom, but," she reached underneath the round table and pulled out a box, "These are communicators that Billy Cranston, the original Blue ranger, invented, they should allow you to call me if you absolutely need me."
"Billy Cranston, from Angel Grove?" Melody questioned, "That's one of my older brother's friend's name."
"That's one of the names on my power ranger poster," Sara added, "Maybe my mom really did know the power rangers when she was my age."
Frank cleared his throat, his shield already in his hand, "Are we going to gossip all day or are we going to actually save the day?" he demanded.
The others looked at each other, it was as if changing into the tunic and leggings of the red knight also gave Frank a backbone.
"I'm scared stiff," Frank confessed, "But the sooner we deal with this the better."
….
Mason looked around the large grassy area that was teeming with Dark knights, where was Stacy, she had been there earlier when Phantomcreep had first arrived but now Stacy was nowhere to be seen. He swung his Bludgeon up over his head, crashing it down on the head of one of the dark knights. A bolt of light shot past him as an energy bolt flew from Sara's bow and struck another Knight straight in the chest.
Melody glanced around her, she was surrounded and there was very little she could do with the Javelin, when suddenly Tammy's voice called through her helmet, "Okay guys I think it's time to call in the Cavalry."
"We have Cavalry?" Melody asked.
"Yes didn't I tell you about that," Tammy asked as five robotic horses appeared on the field, each one rushing over to the power ranger with the matching color. Soon they were all mounted, and moved forward, cutting a path through the dark knights with ease.
"This is the only horse I know of that has laser eyes," Melody muttered as her horse shot a knight down.
Soon all of the Dark Knights had fled, leaving Phantomcreep who had Stacy tied up in some sort of shadow rope that the more you try to escape the tighter it got.
"Great," Frank said, "The only thing from rescuing Stacy is one monster, with our Cavalry that should be easy enough."
…
Mordred couldn't believe it, Phantomcreep was losing, and his dark knights had retreated, it was time to step things up a little. He swept into a tent in the camp and grabbed a bottle from a table in the center, and with a glow of his hand sent it to Phantomcreep.
…
Phantomcreep grinned a creepy smile that sent chills down the rangers' backs when a bottle of something mysteriously appeared in his hand, "Thanks Mordred," he said as he pulled the cork out of the bottle and downed the potion, instantly growing to thirty feet high.
"Uh," Frank said glancing at the giant shadow creature, "Please tell us that we have Zords?"
"Of course," Tammy's voice filtered through, "I'm summoning them now."
Soon a giant red dragon appeared, followed closely by a green griffin, a black three-headed dog, a blue Pegasus, and a pink phoenix. The rangers quickly jumped into their zords and formed a Megazord, which only took about five minutes to defeat Phantomcreep with.
As soon as Phantomcreep had exploded into a cloud of dust, Mason jumped out of the cockpit of the Megazord and rushed over to where Stacy was.
Stacy was standing up, dusting herself off, but the moment the blonde saw the green ranger, she snared, "What took you so long, if your the best that the power rangers could come up with to deal with the problem here at Knight Academy then the school is doomed."
"I think that they did a wonderful job," Tammy Johnson announced as the English teacher appeared, "They could have left you with that monster, and I'm sure there are several students who would have agreed with them," after finishing talking to Stacy she turned to the rangers, and nodded a knowing look in her eyes, "You did great for your first monster attack."
