A/N: Hello everyone and welcome to the next chapter of Legendary Mystical Power Rangers.

Chapter four: The Grotesque Glob part two:

"This is bad, this is really, really bad," Sara exclaimed as she looked around the destroyed Cafeteria, there was green goop everywhere and the tables and benches were tipped over stuck to the walls and in some cases stuck to the ceiling.

Frank was still trying to pull his hands out of the goop that held J.T. firmly to the wall, "Melody's gone," he repeated for the tenth time since the blue ranger had been swallowed whole by the monster.

"Our weapons did not affect it," Mason said, crouching down to examine a pile of the green goop.

"Don't touch it," a new voice called out as Ms. Johnson arrived, dressed in the purple tunic and gray leggings of the purple ranger, "You don't want to get stuck like Frank do you?"

Mason quickly pulled back his hand, looking up at his English teacher, "What do we do Ms. Johnson? Our weapons just cause it to grow, it ate Melody, and Frank and J.T. are stuck to the wall."

Tammy frowned, pulling the hood of her tunic down so she could easily twirl her hair around her finger, something she often did to help her think, it was Halloween so anyone who saw her in the purple tunic would just think that she was in costume, not uniform. "We need to figure out a way to free J.T. and Frank from the wall. If we can figure that out we can figure out how to defeat this Grotesque Glob."

"And if we defeat the Grotesque Glob then we can free Melody," Frank offered from beside the wall, "That's how it works, right?"

"As far as I know," Tammy agreed, "Mason, I understand that you're good at Science, think you can find out what's going on with this glob?"

"If I can get a sample of it under a microscope," Mason said.

"Everyone else is going to be expecting breakfast to start in half an hour," Sara pointed out, "This place is in no way, shape, or form a healthy environment to eat in."

"The smells enough to make anyone lose their appetite," J.T. agree, his face turning a shade of green that would make a wicked witch jealous.

"How are you even planning to clean up?" Frank asked, "In case you haven't noticed, this stuff is really sticky, anything you use to clean it up will just get stuck too."

Sara frowned, "You're right, but what do we do, nobody can eat in here, besides what if that monster comes back."

"Mr. Knight will have to deal with that," Tammy insisted, her voice tight as she spoke, Mr. Knight was the one who was supposed to be the mentor of the team, but he chose to not get involved, it would do him good to be put in his place and forced to do something involving the monster attacks for once.

"So what's our next move?" Sara demanded, glancing at her friends, Mason was trying to get a sample of the gunk, Frank was still trying to pull himself free of the wall, and J.T. was still completely stuck.

"Until we can find a way to free the others, there's nothing we can do," Tammy insisted, looking at the younger rangers. Sara sighed, her large doe colored eyes flashing.

"But I can't help with that!" she snapped, "Mason's the science geek, I'm just the pathetic Orphan with the amazing aim and we already know that shooting it isn't going to work. I hate this!" with that the pink ranger stomped out of the Cafeteria, trying to slam the door shut behind her but failing due to the door getting slammed open into a pile of gunk.

Mason jumped up, looking first at the goop that filled the room, and then at the door where Sara had stormed off, he needed to figure out how to free the others from the goop, but he also felt like he should talk to Sara as well.

"Ms. Johnson," Mason called out, shooting Tammy with a pleading look, "Go talk to Sara," she agreed, "I'll see if I can't figure out how to free the others."

Mason slowly entered the Encampment, Sara hadn't been in her room and most of the school was locked up for the weekend. He hoped that the pink ranger had come here. He slowly looked around the clearing, straining his ears to hear anything out of the ordinary.

The trees sighed in the wind as the leaves underfoot crunched loudly, birds called out to one another above, and somewhere to the right was the sound of someone sniffling. Mason turned to look in that direction, a large pink tent had its flap open and the sound was coming from inside.

Mason let out a deep breath before entering the tent, "Sara?" he called out.

Sara was curled up on a cot in the middle of the tent, crying. At the sound of her name she sat up, wiping furiously at her eyes to stop the tears, "What do you want?" she demanded her doe colored eyes flashing dangerously as she stared at her teammate.

"Are you okay,' Mason asked, "You seemed upset."

"I just..." Sara groaned, "It's all messed up," she said, "I...I promised myself… that I wouldn't get close to anyone… I thought it would be for the best" She sniffed, "Everyone else I've ever been close to has left me in the end. It would be better not to get close, to save the heartache."

"That's why you told J.T. that you weren't interested in making friends," Mason exclaimed.

"Either my family is dead or wants nothing to do with me, all because my father was..." Sara pressed her lips together tightly as she balled her hands into fists. She looked at Mason, "You can't tell the others," she pleaded, "My father wasn't a good person, he was killed, in Prison, before I was born."

Mason opened his mouth, closed it again, shook his head, before opening it again, "What does your father have to do with anything.

"I've grown attached, I like you, and J.T. and Frank and Melody, even if she does drive me crazy sometimes," Sara explained, "and at the moment all I can do is sit back and watch. I can't do anything. I don't remember my mother very well, all I really remember was she was always so sick, and in pain and there was nothing I could do to help her, just like there is nothing I can do to help the others right now."

"Don't worry, we'll figure something out, even if we have to call in help from a different team. The Power Rangers have plenty of smart people we can get to help solve the mystery of the goop."

Sara smiled, although it was a rather wet one, "I wonder how the original team, back in Angel Grove did it, without being able to turn to past teams for help?"

"I don't know," Mason said, "But according to Ms. Johnson it's unusual for a team of rangers to have any connection to any of the past teams."

"Unless my Uncle's involved," Mason pointed out, tipping his head to one side as he added, "Don't know how I feel about finding out that my uncle is the greatest power ranger that ever lived."

"At least you have your uncle, all I have is my Grandma and Grandpa Dumas and they well, they don't like me because I remind them of what my father did to my mom."

Mason placed a hand on her shoulder, "If you ever need to talk about this, I'm willing to listen okay?"

Sara nodded, and probably would have said something more, but at that moment their communicators went off.

Tammy watched as Mason and Sara appeared through one of the hundreds of secret passageways in the school, this one leading into the Cafeteria, "You feeling better Sara?" she asked.

Sara glanced at Mason before nodding, "Yeah I think so, did you figure something out?"

"I think so," Tammy offered, "I seem to remember watching a movie with a slime monster before, I seem to remember that they defeated it with some sort of cleaning supplies. So I raided the Janitor's closet." she nodded to the Janitor's cleaning cart that was next to her, filled to the brim with cleaning supplies, "Help me figure out which one it is."

"What do we do when the monster comes back?" Sara asked grabbing a can of dust remover.

Tammy frowned thinking for a second, "You and Mason would have to try to fight it by yourselves, I guess, while I focus on freeing J.T. and Frank."

"I wish I knew why it attacked us the way it did," Frank called out from his position, still stuck to the wall by his hands, "I mean common, nobody but us was even in the Cafeteria, and the monster left while still having the upper hand. I mean, we're down half the team."

"This morning was a practice attack," Tammy said, her eyes distant, "It wanted to weaken you by trapping some of you in his goop, and make it so that you would be on guard all day long for a second attack. It probably won't attack again until tonight. There are some truths to the myths surrounding Halloween Night, it will be harder to fight the monster and impossible to defeat it until after midnight."

"You do realize how long past curfew that will be," Sara pointed out, "Why to attack first thing in the morning and then wait to attack a second time until after dark?"

"Sometimes the monsters and the people controlling them don't think through on their plans." Tammy said, "There are often holes in it, but that's okay because this gives us time to prepare and find his weakness."

"Right," Mason agreed, "Just because we have to wait until past Midnight to defeat the monster doesn't mean that we can't make it as miserable as possible until then," he bent down and sprayed air freshener on a pile of goop, which caused it to shrink down, "And I found our weapon of choice," he announced, walking over to Frank and J.T. before spraying the goop they were stuck to with the air freshener.

Frank pulled his hands out and flexed them as J.T. fell onto the floor with a thump, "Great," J.T. said, taking great big breaths, "Thank you, that stuff stunk," he took another gulping breath, "So what do we do now?"

"We're going to need a whole lot more air fresheners," Mason said, tossing the empty can into the garbage, and possibly a better way of distributing it,' He paused for a second, the wheels in his brain turning, "I have an idea, but I need to get some supplies that aren't at the school."

"I'll give you a lift to town," Tammy offered.

"The rest of us should try to get as much sleep as possible it sounds like it's going to be a long night," Frank ordered.

….

Sara glanced at the full moon shining through the window of the gym that was decorated for the Halloween party. The Grotesque Glob should be showing up anytime now.

"Nice Costume, Sara," a snobby voice said, "What are you suppose to be? Robin hood?"

Sara took a deep breath, she really hadn't had anything worth wearing as a costume and since the only reason she was there was to prevent the monster from attacking, she had decided to wear her tunic and leggings of the Legendary Mystical Power Rangers, she kept her hood down so everyone could see her face, though, it was a costume at the moment, not a uniform, "I'm a knight of the round table," Sara said with a huff, "You shouldn't mock someone's costume when you aren't wearing one."

"What are you talking about, I'm a Princess."

"Didn't you wear that dress last week?"

Stacy opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out, as that was when a loud alarm went off.

"Monster attack," Sara said, racing off, without saying anything else to Stacy.

The Grotesque Glob had appeared at the snack table and was already absorbing most of it into his body, making him bigger and bigger.

"Power Rangers just like we practiced," Frank called out, already morphed, He held in his hand what looked like an odd-looking water gun, "we need to rescue The Blue Ranger and keep the Glob away from everyone until midnight."

"You do realize that Midnight is four hours away, right?" J.T. pointed out.

"Actually it's four hours, two minutes, and twelve seconds away," Mason corrected.

Everyone, not just the rest of the team turned to look at the green ranger, "What," he demanded, "It's true."

"If we get it to shrink down small enough," the purple ranger called out, "then we can trap him in a trash can until midnight."

"Great let's do it," Sara said, pulling out her makeshift air freshener sprayer, aimed it at the Glob, and sprayed him straight on, "You know this would have been a lot harder if we hadn't had the twelve-hour break between attacks to figure out a weakness."

"Dude," J.T. shouted, "Don't go pointing out the flaws in the monster's plan."

"Sorry, force of habit," Sara said, dodging a green glob of slime that was flung toward her, "You should never watch any movie with me where the good guy wins because it is usually because the bad guy is an idiot."

"Can we stop talking about how the monster is an idiot and focus on fighting the monster?" Frank asked, dodging a pile of slime.

Mason and Sara looked at each other, shrugged, and continued to fight.

The Grotesque Glob screamed in pain as it started to shrink down, smaller and smaller until a head appeared and then shoulders until slowly the blue ranger stood in front of them.

"You couldn't have found a way to rescue me twelve hours ago, could you?" Melody asked swiping the green goop off her suit.

Tammy quickly appeared behind the Glob with a large metal trash can that had been completely coated with air freshener. She quickly slammed it over the Glob trapping it, "That should keep him until the magic of Halloween wears off."

"We'll still have to take turns watching him until then," Frank said, "J.T. and I will take the first watch."

"I hate Halloween," Sara informed Melody as she dropped down on her bed at one in the morning the next day.

"At least it only happens once a year," Melody pointed out, dropping down on her bed as well.

"Too bad the monsters are here year-round." Sara said with a yawn, "Well, I'll see you in the morning."
