J.T. groaned as he turned the page of the book, why was Mrs. Johnson torturing them like this. The assignment was so boring, and so long, what if a monster attack and he just couldn't get his homework done. Especially a compare and contrast essay comparing the book "A Little Princess" with the 1995 film adaption. For crying out loud it was a book for girls, like Melody and Sara. Okay, maybe not Sara.

"Ms. Johnson," a voice called out, causing J.T. to groan, Stacy was at it again, "Sara isn't reading the book like you asked us to."

J.T. quickly turned around in his seat, looking at Sara, the pink ranger was hunched over her desk, writing something, her copy of the book pushed into the corner of the desk, unopened. What was Sara doing, she never disobeyed a teacher, that was his job.

"Is something wrong Sara?" Tammy asked, turning to the younger power ranger.

"No, nothing's wrong," Sara insisted, smoothing out a wrinkle in her school skirt, "I just know both the book and movie very well and can finish the assignment now, instead of waiting for the class to finish the reading and watch the movie."

"How do you know the book so well that you don't need to read it?" Stacy asked.

Sara's head dropped down, as she muttered something.

"I'm sorry," Stacy grinned, "I couldn't understand that."

Sara stood up, her hands balled up into fists, "It was my mother's favorite book," she confessed, "She used to read it to me every night before I went to bed, and when she was too sick to do that, I'll watch the movie with her. Trust me, I know the story well." With that she stormed out of the door, slamming it shut behind her.

Mason immediately stood up, "Ms. Johnson, do you want me to go check on her?" he offered.

"No Mason," Tammy insisted, "Melody, can you go track down your roommate."

Melody shot Mason a look, she understood why Ms. Johnson had asked her, if Sara had been a normal girl she would have no doubt headed to the nearest restroom, or possibly to her dorm room, both places that Mason would get in trouble for entering, however, Sara was more willing to open up to Mason about stuff, then to her, despite being her roommate and the only other girl on the team.

"Explain to me why you haven't located the Holy Grail yet?" Morgana screeched, she could hardly move, but that did not mean that she couldn't yell at Mordred for his failures, she needed to restore her body soon, what little bit of magic she had left was starting to fade, if she didn't get the Holy Grail soon she would have to take a host, and hosts were sometimes hard to control.

"It's not my fault Morgana," Mordred insisted, "The Holy Grail is protected by Power Rangers, The Knights of the Round Table. Try as I might, they always intervene."

"You mean you got bested by a bunch of teenaged mortals?"

"Yes," Mordred stated, "I sent Phantom Creep to spy on them but they defeated him before we could find out a weakness."

"Forget Weaknesses," Morgana shouted, "I want results, they're pathetic humans, mortals, something as small as a germ can lie them flat. Why haven't you used Razorback, her spines will make short work of them."

"Yes, My Lady," Mordred said, bowing low to the ground.

J.T. sat at his desk after class, wishing that he knew the book and movie, as well as Sara, claimed she did, this book was so boring, no fights, no near-death experiences, just a girl who lost everything all at once, someone who went from riches to rags. He needed something a little more exciting.

Across the room, Frank was sprawled out on his bed, his copy of the book open, although he was already quite a bit farther in the book then J.T. was.

"Man, this book is sooo boring," J.T, complained, "I say we set this aside for another day and go do something, I know that it's only Wednesday but maybe we can catch the bus to town and catch a movie, any idea what's playing?"

"Didn't we go to the movies on Monday?" Frank asked, looking up from his book, "Besides, we're due for another attack any day now, and unlike you, Mason and I have to maintain a certain grade point average to keep our scholarships. Not all of us have famous musicians for fathers."

"Mason doesn't need to study," J.T. insisted, "I mean come on that boy has brains, he has a full-ride scholarship."

"Doesn't mean that he can't lose it if his grades slip."

"You're no fun, you know that right?" J.T. said, standing up, "I'm going to see if Mason wants to go to the movies with me," he announced, heading out the door.

"You know that they're playing a chick-flick right now, right?" Frank called out.

"Well then I'm going to find something super exciting to do," J.T. announced, "Living at school is the most boringest thing that I've done."

Frank rolled his eyes, "The same school that gets attacked by monsters at least once a week?"

"This is California, it was bound to happen eventually," J.T. insisted, shutting the door behind him.

Mason was almost done with the reading assignment when there was a knock on his door, it was probably Sara, she had a tendency to come to him when she was upset.

However, it was J.T. that greeted him at the door, "Come on, I need something exciting to do before I die of boredom."

"I don't know," Mason said softly, "We're due for a monster attack any day now, and I think we should be here at the school when it happens so that we can get to the Encampment."

"But there's nothing to do here!" J.T. complained.

Mason blinked, "You do realize that we have our own golf course, bowling alley, and swimming pool, there's plenty to do without going into town."

"Yeah but there's nothing to do!" J.T. insisted, "Golf is boring, bowling is lame and Swimming is..." he trailed off, "Well, swimming is okay, I guess."

"Then why don't you go swimming?" Mason suggested, "and leave me alone so that I can do homework."

"Your roommate must be so bored, dealing with you all the time," J.T. muttered.

"Actually, my roommate was pulled out of the school after the first monster attack," Mason announced, "Now if you'll excuse me."

J.T. looked around the swimming pool, or the indoor water park that it was more like. Now that classes were over with for the day, the large water slide had been opened up, and inflatable toys and pool noodles had appeared. While the pool wasn't overly crowded, neither was it mostly empty. Apparently, swimming had sounded like a good excuse to avoid homework for several students.

J.T. was about to cannonball into the deep end when he heard a scream followed by an evil laugh. A large hedgehog, porcupine-like, creature was standing next to the pool, why in the world had a monster decided to attack the swimming pool of all places.

J.T. looked around, there were way too many people around to morph, he was going to have to do something quickly, why oh why had he complained about being bored, "Hey Ugly," He called out, waving his arms around to get the monsters attention, "Betcha can't catch me!"

The Hedgehog creature smirked, curling itself into a ball before rolling at top speed towards J.T., who jumped out of the way just in time, "Dude, this is a swimming pool, the bowling alley is on the other side of campus."

A pink flash of light flew through across the room, striking the black ball of quills causing it to unroll and fall into the pool with a large splash.

The monster immediately started to thrash around, flailing its arms and legs around.

Behind him the Pink Power Ranger lowered her bow, "You'd think that the monster would learn how to swim before attacking the swimming pool."

J.T. snickered as he watched the hedgehog trying to keep its head above the water. "I know this battle was almost too easy."

"That's what you think," a deep gravelly voice called out.

"Mordred!" the teens shouted, as Mordred showed up with an army of Dark Knights.

J.T, glanced around, Students and Teachers were all scrambling around, acting like chickens with their heads cut off. There was too much of a risk that he would be caught morphing. "Okay," he shouted over the screaming and general hubbub of a monster attack, "Everyone remain calm and head to the nearest exit, let the power rangers take it from here."

J.T. had expected someone, one of the teachers or upperclassmen to complain that he was just a Freshman, but no one did, in fact, they hurried out the exit as quickly as possible, apparently when faced with a giant hedgehog monster with razor-sharp quills, they would listen to just about anyone who was willing to step up and take charge.

"Where are the others?" Sara asked as she sent a dark knight into the water with a large splash.

"I thought you knew," J.T. insisted summoning his war hammer and shield, before hitting the hammer on the shield, "It's morphing time!"

"We could use Calvary right about now," Sara commented as she ducked behind a lounge chair and fired off an energy bolt from her bow.

"There's no room for them to maneuver in here," J.T. pointed out, "We'll be the ones that end up swimming if we do."

Sara glanced around the room, there was a sea of dark knights, which made it easy to pick them off one by one, but it also made it harder for them to dodge any attacks, "We need to draw them out into the open," she decided.

"And how do you plan to do that?" J.T. asked, sending another five Knights into the pool with a single swing of his hammer.

"I have no idea," Sara confessed, "Why haven't the others arrive yet?"

"I'm guessing here," J.T. announced, pointing to the door, where several chairs and odds and ins were stacked up against it, "But I think the barricade has something to do with it."

"Great, just great," Sara muttered, "There isn't an Encampment entrance in here either, too much traffic."

"So what do we do," J.T. asked, swinging his hammer around, "it seems like for every knight we knock down, ten takes its place."

"I wish we had teleportation like some of the other teams," Sara groaned, putting her bow away and hitting the next one with her fist.

Melody, Frank, and Mason rushed out of the secret passage in the hall just outside of the swimming pool, already morphed and ready to go. Frank quickly threw his weight into the doors, but they didn't budge.

Melody pulled on the doors, just in case that was how they opened, but nothing happened. Mason peered through the window and groaned, "They barricaded the door," he announced, "What should we do?"

Melody shook her head, "You know locking themselves into such a small room with two power rangers isn't the best of ideas, there's too many of them, they're getting creamed."

"Yeah," Frank said, "Common the monster ended up in the pool."

Sara sent yet another Dark Knight into the pool, despite the number of knights struggling in the water there were still more coming at her, and she was getting exhausted. Something had to change and quickly. Suddenly a ball of brown spines nearly ran her over, knocking at least twenty dark knights into the pool before landing in the water itself.

"What's wrong?" J.T. asked, "Not enough room around the pool to attack us?"

There was a sudden flash of light and the dark knights and monster were gone.

"What just happened," Sara asked, tilting her head to the side.

"They must have realized that the walkway around the pool wasn't big enough for their attack, and moved it somewhere else."

"But where?" Sara asked, scrunching up her eyes as she thought, "Somewhere that has a lot of room for their attack a guess, somewhere like..."

Just then their communicators beeped and Mrs. Johnson called out, "The monster is attacking the Golf Course."

"Of Course," J.T, muttered, "Come on, let's get out of here, the others are probably already at the golf course."

Melody groaned as she pulled herself up after being knocked down by the Razorback Swine and checked her uniform, impressive there was a large gorge where the monster had pulled up the lawn as it rolled past, but her uniform looked just fine, a little dirty, but a quick swipe of her hand and even that was gone.

"This guy is causing a lot of damage," Frank commented.

"Hopefully the school has a good Monster insurance," Mason said, jumping out of the way as the ball headed in his direction, while the ball was fast in straight lines it didn't turn fast at all.

A flash of pink light flew through the air, colliding with the ball causing it to flatten out, back into a monster.

The monster roared, lumbering around to glare at the pink ranger who was still holding her bow at the ready, aiming at its chest. It was surrounded, everywhere it turned there was a power ranger waiting, power weapon at the ready.

J.T. smiled at the others, not that they could see with his helmet on, idly swinging his war hammer as he watched the lumbering large hedgehog slowly circle around, trying to find an escape. They had the monster trapped, if it tried to roll into a ball again, Sara would just shoot it, forcing it to unroll, and if it tried to charge one of them they were ready to counterattack.

However, the sense of triumph soon faded as there was a flash of light and a potion bottle appeared in the monster's paw.

"Everybody," Frank called out, "Call your Zords!" he announced, as the monster tipped his head back and downed the liquid.

By the time the zords had arrived, the monster was thirty-story tall.

"Okay," Frank said, taking control of the Megazord, "Let's get this taken care of."

It was a typical battle and after five minutes of back and forth, the power rangers finally won the upper hand. With one last final blow, the monster was defeated.

J.T. glanced around the golf course it was going to need some serious work to restore the lawn. He stifled a yawn, before saying, "You know what, I think I'll go back to my room and read that book, I think I'm good for excitement today."
