Mason fumbled with his book bag looking for his ID card, "Come on, there is no way I lost it," he muttered, "I had it this after… oh there it is," he said, finally finding the card, "I have got to replace my lanyard." With that, he swiped it into the key card reader that locked his dorm room.

Entering he threw his bag by his desk and looked around, his half of the room looked lived in while the other half of the room, for his former roommate that had decided that he didn't want to attend school so near a forest crawling with monsters, was empty except for the bed, desk, and dresser that came with the dorm.

"Will the following student please report to the front office, Mason Trueheart," a voice called out over the intercom causing Mason to groan, if there was one complaint he had about the boarding school, it was that whenever they needed a student after school hours they just broadcast it over the whole school, the dorms as well. Everyone knew if you got a summons and usually they only summoned troublemakers, like when J.T. freed Mr. Torres's pet tarantula to get out of a math test.

Mason carefully pulled his door shut behind him, learning the hard way that leaving his door open even a crack allowed fellow students to enter and mess around with his stuff, he was certain that it was J.T. but he wasn't sure and didn't want to blame his fellow ranger. Though he had come by later that same night to ask to borrow a tie that his uncle had given him with the original power ranger helmets on a striped background. He had been way too specific to not know about the tie that he never wore.

"Whatever you do, don't admit to anything," J.T. said, appearing next to him as he walked past his and Frank's dorm room.

"He's been summoned to the Front Office, J.T., not the Headmaster's office," Frank pointed out, pulling the door shut behind him, "Maybe Mason has a visitor stop by, that's what usually happens when someone is called to the front office."

"I wasn't planning on having a visitor, and there is no way that Uncle Tommy drove all the way up from Reefside, it's a five-hour drive one way and he works."

"Don't you have a grandfather?" Frank asked.

"Grandfather Sam?" Mason shook his head, "No he's legally blind, well into his nineties," Mason paled, "You don't think that something bad happened to him, do you?"

"Maybe," J.T. said with a shrug, "But don't worry, we'll be with you every step you take."

"Fine," Mason said, moving towards the elevator, "If you really want to come with I guess you can."

Sara and Melody met them just outside of the dorms, and the five friends walked to the Front Office together. The receptionist Ms. Smith was standing outside with Mr. Knight, which caused them to look at each other nervously, why was the headmaster there?

"Right, Mr. Trueheart, so glad that you could join us," Mr. Knight said, "We have a transfer student that has just arrived. Since he will be your new roommate, I figured that you'll be willing to show him and his mother around while I finish up the paperwork."

"We'll be happy to show him around," J.T. announced, throwing an arm around Mason, "So, are we supposed to warn him about the monsters, or is that your job."

"Monsters?" a voice spoke up as a tall blonde teenage boy walked up behind them, followed by an equally tall woman, "Are there monsters here?"

"Don't listen to Mr…" Mr. Knight glanced at J.T. briefly, before Ms. Smith leaned over and whispered something in his ear, "Taylor, he's a joker, he was referring to the teachers. Weren't you?"

J.T. opened his mouth to respond, but the new woman spoke up in a thick Australian accent, "I am well aware of the fact that you have a power ranger team hidden among your students and staff. The Monster attacks do not scare me, I attended Angel Grove High when the Zeo Rangers were there. I never once feared for my life, and I am sure that the Legendary Mystical Power Rangers will do the same for Mark."

"Of course Ms. Williamson, If you insist," Mr. Knight stated, before clearing his throat, "Well," he pulled Frank out of the crowd, "This is Mason..."

"I'm Frank," Frank protested, dodging out of his headmaster's grip.

"I'm Mason Trueheart," Mason stated, "And these are my friends, Sara, Melody, Frank, and J.T."

Ms. Williamson gave Melody a knowing look, "You're Melody DeSantos, aren't you?" she asked, "I'm friends with your older brother and sister in law."

"Really?" Melody asked, "How do you know that."

"Rocky showed me a picture of you when I stopped by his restaurant the other day, he was the one who suggested that I consider sending Mark here." Ms. Williamson explained.

Mason frowned, this woman knew Melody, was it because she was friends with her brother like she claimed, or was this a setup, was Mark really a monster sent to befriend them and then destroy them?

Sara must have been thinking along the same lines of him because she blocked Ms. Williamson from leaving the main foyer, "How do we know that you aren't some creepy stalker?" she demanded.

Ms. Williamson actually laughed, "Wow, you're direct aren't you Sara."

Sara glared at her, causing the older woman to gasp, it couldn't be, she recognized that look, her hair was different, but the rest was exactly the same, even the death glare, "You haven't answered my question, Ms. Williamson."

"Actually, it's Ms. Hillard."

"Mom and Dad are in the process of getting a divorce," Mark explained, stuffing his hands in his pockets, "Hillard's Mom's maiden name."

"Kat Hillard?" Sara questioned, causing her friends to look at her.

"Yes," Kat confessed, "I take it Rocky must have mentioned me."

"Something like that," Sara muttered, scuffing her toe across the floor.

Mason was showing them the Activity Center on campus which contained the bowling alley, an arcade, and three screen rooms for watching movies when a loud beeping noise came from Frank's watch. All five friends looked at each other, and then looked at Mark and his mother.

"Uh," Frank started, "That was an alarm, reminding us that we need to..." he trailed off as a loud railing alarm went off.

"I'm taking that's the Monster Alarm?" Kat asked in amusement as the teens looked at each other in alarm, just like they had when the watch had gone off.

"Yes," Mason said, "And we need to go hide..." he looked around before pointing to a table, "Under that table."

"There is no way that the seven of us can hide under that table," Mark pointed out.

"Don't worry about us," Sara insisted, "We'll hide behind the counter."

It took all of Kat's acting skills not to smile knowingly at the teens, the watch alarm that went off right before the monster alarm sounded, the fact that they wanted them to hide separately, and now that she thought about it, they were colored coded. While all five of them wore their school uniform they all wore different colored ties, Sara a pink, Mason green, Frank red… "Come on Mark, I'm sure that they know what they are talking about," she said over the noise of the alarm.

"Why can't we all hide behind the counter," Mark muttered.

"I am sure that they have their reasons," Kat insisted, winking at the others, "We're just going to have to wait until the power rangers arrive."

The teens exchanged looks once more, that had been directed at them, hadn't it. How in the world did someone they only knew for about half an hour figure out their secret identities.

J.T. however, just winked back before flipping over the counter and activating the hidden trapdoor that leads to the Encampment. The monster alarm had already sounded, so they didn't have time to waste. The others followed.

"Should we be concerned that a complete stranger figured out our secret in half an hour?" Frank asked.

"We'll deal with it later," Sara insisted, "The monster alarm sounded a whole minute ago, we have to go."
