Melody threw the door to her dorm wide open, "You should see the front office," She shouted racing into the room, "It's amazing, and I've never seen the parking lot so full, not even on Orientation day."
Sara groaned, rolling over onto her stomach as she pulled her pillow over her head, "I don't care."
"Don't care, don't care," Melody almost seemed to be screeching as she grabbed her brush and started to brush out her long brown hair, "Sara this is Family day, we haven't seen our parents since school started, and this is the day that they come to visit us."
"I'm an orphan, remember?" Sara grunted, "I never met my father, and my mother died when I was four, so… yeah, nothing really to look forward to."
"What about the Carnival on the front lawn," Melody suggested, "They have an archery game, and we all know that you are the best archer this school has seen and many years."
Sara snorted, "The only people who claim that are you and the rest of the team," she insisted, "Besides if I prove to be better than, say, the president of the Archery Club, everyone will wonder why I haven't joined, and being a ranger takes up a lot of my time."
"And the rest of your time is spent feeling sorry for yourself," Melody pointed out, "Mason isn't moping around, and he lost his father just last summer."
"Yeah, but Mason has his uncle coming, and I… I don't have anyone."
"Well my parents aren't coming either," Melody announced, "They're somewhere in Africa right now, so I'm stuck with my older brother."
"Ouch," a deep voice called out from the doorway, "I'll pretend that I didn't hear that, I thought you were glad I was coming."
Melody dropped her brush, whirling around to the open door, a huge smile on her lips as she threw herself at the tall stranger, "Rocky," she called out, "You're here!"
"Hi Squirt," Rocky DeSantos said, ruffling his younger sister's hair, "So what's going on here?"
"I'm trying to cheer Sara up," Melody explained shooting her roommate a dirty look, "But she won't listen to me."
Rocky nodded, glancing at the red-haired teenager who was glaring daggers at him, there was something familiar about her, but he just couldn't put his finger on it.
"I'm fine," the girl snarled, "I just don't feel like being..."
"Are you a power ranger fan," Rocky interrupted, as his eyes landed on a poster of the original power rangers, "Man, where did you find this, it's almost impossible to find anything from former teams like right now, all you can get is stuff for the Legendary Mystical team here at your school,"
"Don't let him fool you," a female announced, as an African American woman appeared in the doorway, "He's bought up everything power ranger related he can get his hands on."
"Well," Sara said, turning to look at the poster, "The poster was my mother's, she grew up in Angel Grove."
"Grew up in Angel Grove?" Aisha asked, "What's her name, maybe we knew her, especially if she was living there during the time of the power ranger teams."
Sara looked at Aisha in confusion before saying softly, "Kimberly, Kimberly Hart."
Both Melody's brother and sister-in-law gasped, as Rocky exclaimed, "Wait your Kim's girl, no wonder you looked familiar, Kim's daughter, gosh, how is she doing… no don't answer that, I'll go downstairs and pin her down, geesh, I haven't seen her since..." Rocky trailed off, "Well let's just say that it was long before you and Melody were born."
Sara opened her mouth but Rocky was already out the door.
"Don't mind my husband," Aisha said, rolling her eyes, "He gets over jealous sometimes, Truth is we were friends with your mother in high school, but we lost contact with her, finding out she has a daughter," Aisha laughed, "Well that was surprising."
"You were friends," Sara couldn't help herself, she hadn't really thought that her mother had friends, sure her grandfather claimed that her mother was a friendly person and quite popular growing up, but he wasn't around for that time period either, maybe something big happened between her and her friends, that would explain why they didn't come to the funeral.
"Yes, in fact, your mother lived with me for a little while before moving to Florida," Aisha explained, "We kept in contact for a while, but then she suddenly stopped writing, and our letters returned unopened, this was before cell phones, emails, and long-distance calls, so we weren't sure what to do, and it isn't like your mom doesn't know how to get a hold of us, my parents haven't moved since we moved to Angel Grove."
"Wait so it was my mom's fault that she fell out of contact with you?" Sara asked, now even more confused, according to her grandfather her mom had thrived on friendship, so why had she cut all of her friends out?
"Yep, she only came back to visit once," Aisha said, "When our friend Jason dragged her home, but she only stayed the weekend and no one really got a chance to talk to her." Aisha leaned back, "I was in Africa at the time, but from what the others said it was a hectic weekend and she was gone before things truly calmed down."
"I guess that explains why Rocky doesn't know," Melody said softly.
"Know what?"
"My mom passed away ten years ago," Sara muttered, "He's not going to find her downstairs."
"What," Aisha leaped up, her eyes wide in disbelief, it couldn't be, it just couldn't be, "How?"
"I think it was cancer, I don't know for sure, all I know was that Mom was always sick."
"I wonder if that has anything to do with that Letter," Aisha muttered, "I always found it super suspicious that she dumped Tommy with a letter."
"My mom dated Tommy Oliver?"
… Mark and Mason's room…
Mark leaped up from his desk, rushing to the door before the person could finish knocking, and flung the door open, only to blink when he realized that he had no idea who was at the door, "Uh, Mason, I think your uncle is here," he called into the room.
"Can't be," Mason remarked, "He's early, my uncle can't be on time to save his life."
"Hey," the man in the doorway cried, "I'll have you know, Mason that I have gotten better at arriving on time if not early. You can't believe everything your father tells you."
"Actually I was talking to Ms. Johnson and she said that TJ said that Justin said..."
Tommy let out a groan, "Do you rangers have anything better to do than gossip about me?"
"You know that we're the power rangers?" Mark asked.
"Well, I was talking to Billy yesterday, and he told me that Justin told him, that TJ told him..."
Mark and Mason gave each other a look, before bursting into laughter.
"Okay, so we power rangers like to talk."
"Obviously," a new voice called out as Mark's mother leaned against the open doorway, "You really shouldn't talk about this with the door open, what if someone besides me had walked by?"
Tommy smiled brightly, "Kat, I..." he ran his hand through his hair, "You would think that Billy would mention that I would probably run into you. I mean how hard would it have been to say, 'By the way Tommy, your nephew's roommate is your ex's son.'"
Kat shook her head, "I'm surprised that you even showed up, knowing your history with power rangers, I doubt that you'll last the day without joining the team."
… The Cafeteria…
Frank frowned as he watched his Dad's cousin, his Uncle Jason, scanned the room again.
"Are you looking for someone?" his dad asked, clasping his older cousin on the shoulder, "I'm sure that if Trini finishes up with her meeting she'll call you."
"She knows that I came here, she just doesn't know that I met up with you," Jason said.
"So, um..." Frank began, "Why are you here Uncle Jason," his dad gave him a look so he continued on, "It's just you don't have any kids here, and it just seems odd that you would agree to go with your cousin to a private boarding school to visit his son. Or for you to join your wife on a business trip, no offense but there are a hundred other places I would think of for a romantic getaway, that doesn't include Knight's Academy."
"My parents just got back from a trip to Paris," Jason explained, "My mom met up with an old friend of her, she was my neighbor growing up, I was friends with her daughter, a daughter that is attending this school."
"So you're hoping to see your friend again?" Frank suggested.
Jason shook his head, "She died a decade ago," he explained, "She was like a sister to me, and I kind of feel like I should see how her daughter is, make sure she's happy. According to my mom, her grandmother pretty much wants nothing to do with her."
"Sounds like my friend, Sara, but she probably won't come down, not unless Mason and Mark drag her down."
Just then there was a loud shout and a man clad in blue appeared, pinning Jason to the wall, "Is Kim with you?" he demanded.
"Rocky," Jason growled, "let me go."
"Just tell me, are you here with Kim?"
"No," Jason snapped twisting out of the other ranger's grip, "Why did you pin me to the wall?"
"Uh… I needed to know if you were here with Kim, the last time I saw Kim she was with you."
Jason took a deep breath, "That was the last time I saw Kim as well," he confessed, "Unless you count..." he let out a sigh, trying to figure out what to say, how do you explain to a friend you haven't talked to in years that their one friend had been dead for years.
"Rocky, Jason, what are you doing here?"
"Tommy," Rocky exclaimed, "So is Kim with you?"
"Kim?" Tommy asked as Kat, who had walked up behind him kind of snicker, "No, is she here as well, why didn't Billy tell me that Kim was going to be here, is this some kind of 'Have Tommy run into his exes day'?"
Mark, Mason, and Frank all gave each other looks.
"So," Frank said, "Where are the girls and J.T.?"
"Knowing the girls, Melody's trying to convince Sara to come out of their room," Mason grumped.
"I'm surprised you aren't helping with that," Mark pointed out, "I mean you do everything together."
"Sara's a stick in the mud, I'm just the only one of the original five who could get her to come out of her shell."
Tommy rubbed his forehead, removing his glasses, could the others see the bright colorful glow that was surrounding them, did they realized what he just realized, "We have two full teams here," he finally confessed, "I mean there's the Legendary Mystical Team and us."
"We don't have a full team," Rocky argued, "With Kat and Kim both here, we have two pink rangers and no blue."
"Black," Tommy corrected, "Rocky you're a blue ranger, we don't have a black ranger or a yellow ranger."
"Just Black," Kat announced, pointing across the room where Aisha was trying to work her way towards them, "Aisha kind of looks upset, don't you think so Rocky, you know her better than I do."
Rocky frowned as he studied his wife as she got closer, her lips were pursed, and there was a single tear track down her cheek, something was defiantly wrong.
Sara and Melody were struggling to keep up with Aisha as she made her way through the crowd to a group of people that was hanging out in one of the corners.
"Rocky, we need to talk," Aisha announced, before grimacing when she noticed Jason and Tommy, "I think we better go find someplace to sit down, I just learned something about Kim, and why we haven't heard from her in..."
"I already know," Jason interrupted, "my parents met up with her mom in Paris and she told them, I can't believe that Kim would lie to us about this, lie to me about it, she promised."
"Promised what?" Tommy demanded, "What happened to Kim," the other rangers took a step back as Tommy's eyes twitched green.
"Tommy you have to understand, I just learned about it two weeks ago," Jason insisted, "But..." he trailed off, sending the yellow ranger a pleading look.
"My mother passed away years ago," Sara finished, rolling her eyes at the older rangers, "Honestly it isn't that hard to say."
"What!" Tommy shouted, his face draining of any color, "that's impossible, there has to be some sort of mistake, she can't be," he pointed a finger at Rocky, "This is some sort of practical joke, and it isn't funny."
"He took that better than I thought," Aisha confessed, "I was afraid he'll book the next plane to Paris to talk to her mother."
"He's still in shock," Kat confessed, "Wait for it."
Tommy suddenly froze his eyes widening in surprise before he whirled around to confront Sara, "Did you say mother, you're Kim's daughter, you're Sara!"
Sara glanced at her friends and the older rangers before nodding, "Yes," she replied with a squeak, "Why?"
"Who's your father? Is he here?"
Sara shook her head, "I don't even know my father's name, only that he..."
Jason sighed, "You don't want to know about Sara's father, Tommy, there's nothing you can do about it, all that will do is bring back the green ranger, and I don't want to have to deal with that again."
"I have a funny feeling that you know more about my father than I do," Sara commented, "All I know is that he died in Prison before I turned five, and everyone and I mean everyone always changed the subject when I ask about him."
"Let's just say that your father was a predator, unfortunately for him, your mother couldn't be bullied into remaining quiet."
"And you're sure he's dead?" Tommy growled, his eyes now a solid green color.
"Okay, Tommy you need to calm down."
"This was why I was hesitant to tell him," Aisha hissed to any of the younger rangers who would listen, "Tommy is rather scary when he's truly upset."
… The Enchanted Forest…
Morgana was getting weaker, Mordred could sense it from across the camp, they had to think of something quick or Morgana would fade away forever. The Holy Grail was the obvious solution, but they still didn't know exactly where it was hidden, and they would still have to deal with the power rangers, which they still haven't been able to figure out how to stop. The other option was to find a host for Morgana, even that could be risky, a strong-willed host would throw her out and take back control.
"What's going on at the school," Morgana croaked, "I sense an increase in morphing energy."
"It's family day at the school," Mordred explained, "And several rangers that Zordon chose have arrived for it."
"More rangers, I don't have time to deal with more rangers," Morgana shrieked, "I need some way to..." she trailed off, the hair on the back of her neck prickling, "What was that?"
"I suspect that that was the original green ranger, while the spell Rita Repulsa used has long since been broken I am sure that there have been some lasting effects, there usually are."
"What has him so upset?" Morgana demanded, "Perhaps we can turn him to our side, use that information to our advantage."
"Do you want me to send a monster to learn more?"
"No," Morgana shouted, sinking into herself a little more, "Go yourself, monsters will trigger that blasted alarm, and I do not need to deal with Zordon's precious power rangers as well as our normal pests."
A/N: So that happened, anyway, next chapter of LMPR Mordred hatches a plan to get the upper hand of the power rangers, forcing them to turn to their family members for help. Can they stop Morgana from becoming more powerful?
