A/N: Eeeeeeeee! OMG I am getting so much, of such a positive response from you guys. I officially love my readers. I know what I said about a posting schedule, but this is insane. My CompSci teacher willl have to deal with me spending a bit fo time from that class to post because wow! It might take me a few months to get used to my gmail overstuffed with emails from FFN about favs, follows, and reviews. Not to mention the view count! Thanks to Dianaanne, E. Elliot, SLYNNR, YAW 6113 who encouraged me to actually post more than once a week, and my first 3 reviewers for this story, Linda, Kendtimo, and BETHYLTIVACHRISTASIA. Crywolfseven, thanks for the review. Since your dm inbox is closed, i'll answer here. Sorry to everyone else. Anyways, this is just the beginning. I havea similar thignin my other storis. i know he comes over as superpowered. What you have to understand and will be touched upon in a later chpater if neeed be, is taht he and harry is naturally superpowered in canon. his only weakness in canon is his friends and lack of information. Since he has it here, he uses it. He is not a Dumbledore, if anything happens ot him, other people will have the necessary information to continue voldie's defeat. He will not be very magcially superpowere, but he has his own hermione granger, who has grown more magically powerful and confident. Again, this so far, is very realistic canonically. I go by #EWE aka epilogue? what epilogue? The epilogue, as well as cursed child sounds more like officially endorsed fanfic and wish fulfillment than something that could go for canon. I mean everyone survive, no lasting effects from a freakin' war? No way. Go read Roundabout Destiny by MaryRoyale, one of my faves. Different than mine, but similar power levels for the adults (in my story and the end if that one). I don't mean to sound rude, but people always complain about superpowered characters, yet you are fine with canon harry defeating "the worst and most powerful dark lord of all time" with a single fourth year spell? When Dumbledore, who even though he is no flawless, is still a very powerfull wizard, couldn't? Either Voldemort was crazy scary and powerful and harry is an overpowered (idiot) in canon, or voldemort was overexaggerated and it doesn't take an overpowered character to defeat him. I stand by the latter. Gridelwald caused a world war and nearly got an entire continent.
anyways, if anyone wants to dm or review me, pelase do so. I love how FFN has such an encouraging community. I've decided that the every Saturday schedule can go for Morrigan Returns 2 and Dark Lady Pendragon, while for this story, since it is so much easier to write (little to no canon to look up, no books to go to the top of my mother's tallest bookshelf to look up a quote. Please check those ot as well, and I have a Dark marauders (no Time travel) story that I think my beloved readers wouuld like as wel. Comment in the reviews or dm me about that. This story I will be updating as soon as I get a new chapter written, though the grammar might a be a bit below par due to my lack of an editor (is that what a beta is? If so, i need one. Desperately). Anyways, here is the net chapter I have gotten my reviewers asking for.
Be warned, there is one very long chapter, and the memories shown are entirely canon, with a few little things that could be canon, but rowling proably just throught them unnecessary. If you don't know what happens in that very loooooooooooooong paragraph, read the books. THeyre not perfect, but theyre still awesome. Also very quotable.
Also, I know the slytherins arent very canon in the last paragraph, but after reading tons of fanfics that have the following line, "lord voldemort rubbed his forehead. Was it really worth it to take over wizarding briatin if he had to deal with these idiots all the time? Couldn't he ever have someone compenetent, human, loyal, not in love with him, not suicidal, and not more in love with his peacocks and hair than his wife son or life? Overall, competent?" i forgot which auhtor wrote this line, but it had me laughing for hours. Every house has their idiots. anopn slytherin can not have beeen full of either mindless brutes or their handlers, ex crabbe, goyle, and malfoy. Canon is told from Harry Potters POV more or less, meaning not objective. Therefore I make my own slyhterin house. And this quote, when i though of it, i decided to find a way to put it in, because it had me laughing and i hope you'll laugh too. " Never let it be said that Slytherin's don't have their own suicidal idiots, just like Gryffindor. Although, it was completely normal for half the house to admit they knew how to get in contact with said Dark Lord. The Slytherin common room had no measure of discretion about the legality of their discussion topics. Why, should they?" because someone had to post this.
On to the chapter!
Dumbledore's eyes widened when Professor Gryffindor finished talking with Severus Snape. He needed to talk to Horace about how teenagers knew about horcruxes. Tom had made four with plans for more? Oh no. He had always been obsessed with the number seven. Seven soul parts. No wonder he was so insane. And his new processor in possession of information that had made him a killer? Having a prophecy trying him to Voldemort? Wandless magic? Potter, Black, and Pettigrew animagi? Him having hired a daughter from House LeFay?
Horace finally got up to the office "Horace," began Albus, "what did you tell Tom Riddle about horcruxes?" He simultaneously sent a tendril of legilimency towards the potions professor, and caught a memory, remembering it to view in his pensieve.
Horace stuttered out a negative answer. Albus realized he would get nothing from him, but for appearances sake tried to get the answer another few times.
When Horace left, it was pensieve time.
Seven. Seven horcruxes. What else did Henry Gryffindor, as he was calling himself know? Albus rewatched everything he knew about the man and his fiancee.
Parselmouth. Head of Houses Peverell and Gryffindor. Descendant of house Slytherin. Very talented magically with lots of obscure knowledge. Admitted to having killed for rare knowledge. Knew about Tom Riddle and his horcruxes. Hinted at knowing more than he should, Albus hoped he didn't know about him and his boyfrie- old rival. Now that he thought about it, Albus hadn't gotten laid in eight decades. Off that train of thought. He really didn't know that much about the two. He really didn't. That was a new situation that Albus Dumbledore had no idea how to deal with.
That evening, after potions lunch, charms, and dinner, Severus Snape and Lily Evans made their way to Professor Gryffindor's office. He led them to moaning myrtle's bathroom, where after hissing open, he cast an overpowered scourgify to clean the passage. They slid down, and below, he hissed, open to the heir of Salazar, vainest of the Hogwarts four.
Wrong password the snake inside hissed.
Alright. Open to the Heir of Salazar Slytherin, greatest of the Hogwarts of the Hogwarts four. But he's still the vainest.
Hermione stifled her laughs through the exchange. Considering the last time you were here it was the site of your attempted murder and ginny's, you sure do have a sense of humor.
Harry's face straightened. It's either laugh or cry. Someone has to save the world. Fate's a fuckin bitch, and so is that bug trelawney.
Professor? Lily asked.
You'll understand in a second. Emerald, those eyes better be closed. No staring contests.
Yes, little hatchling. And I sense the future familiar of my egg.
Who?
The one that smells of potions, who was not born speaking.
Severus. You don't have a familiar, right?
No, sir.
No need to call me sir professor Hermione quipped.
There's an egg by the entrance. It's hatching in a minute, and the first person it sees needs to be it's familiar or it will be wild. Walk around to another end of the chamber and get your familiar born.
Meanwhile, Harry talked to Lily. Lily, I will be showing you and Severus my memories and Hermione's where mine don't show the scene. Before you finish watching, you might be weirded out. With the amount of blood adoptions I'm not the same person I was born. Severus returned You've probably figured out were not exactly normal
Everyone knows that by now, even the Gryffindors like Potter Pettigrew and Black.
Hermione answered, Yes, Severus. Anyways, we're more than strange or rich or good at magic. Were, well, not from this time. I was born in 1980, Hermione a year before. Hogwarts class of 1998. Not that we graduated properly until 1999. That dark lord that's rampaging about? Him and Dumbledore fucked up the lives of your generation and mine. Except Dumbledore doesn't even realize it. Anyway, there was a ritual done so far in the past nobody knows when, that made time travel that was not self replicating, to actually change the past, would only be possible if an actual apocalypse was imminent. And that's where our memories come in. They both pulled memories from their heads, put them in a bottle and duplicated them. Now, remember, we're changing the timeline because we don't want this to happen. Just so you don't go into a shock, I'm warning you. Lily, you were dead by the time I was a year old. Severus, you were my potions professor, and not the person you are now. The reason why we're here is to prevent all these deaths. Also to prevent Mrs. Lily Potter because the events that lead to that ruined quite a few lives. So just watch with an open mind.
And they did. Lily saw her sister abusing a young boy. Severus watched a pompous eleven year old who thought he rules the world ruining the chances of a boy to be where he belonged. Lily gasped at the name. Harry James Potter. Her potential future son. Severus was disgusted when he saw his future self teaching potions. They were both frozen for two years worth of memories. Then they saw Lupin teaching. And news about Black killing Pettigrew. And when it turned out Pettigrew was alive and caused Lily's murder, and that Black was innocent, and Remus a werewolf. They both knew that, but the confirmation was necessary. Then Snaoe recoiled, as if slapped in the face, when he saw his potential future self's actions towards Lupin and Black. What could they have done to him in a few years that he wanted them both dead that badly? What had happened to change fifteen year old snarky and sarcastic but overall good Severus Snape into this stereotypical villain, who Dumbledore, for some reason, trusted and allowed near children? And then there was the triwizard tournament. "Bt I am the chosen one". That was a quote worth remembering, thought Lily. Snape nearly had a heart attack when he heard Voldemort admit it. His possible future self was a death eater. Spying. In Hogwarts. Teaching children. And trusted by Dumbledore. At a hundred and fourteen, Dumbledore was clinically insane (yet still somehow still alive). Lily nearly had a heart attack when she saw an adult version of herself come out of Voldemort's wand. Snape's eyes widened when he saw Lucius Malfoy, the pureblood prince of Slytherin who graduated two years ago on his knees. Lily nearly getting out of the memory viewing trance to go cruciate the third year hufflepuff Dolores Umbridge for what she did to her possible future son. Severus remembers to talk more with the sixth year ravenclaw Xenophilius Lovegood who always has good ideas for improving potion, after he sees the teen's future daughter. Lily watches her possible future son planning for war, and she cries, even at fifteen, understanding that teens should not have to do that, that even now, Professors Gryffindor and Ravenclaw would only teach them enough to defend themselves so they don't end up like those future versions of themselves. Severus unable to think, to process, when he sees his future self murder Albus DUmbledore in cold blood. He may not like the man for not allowing him an exception from the trace to hex his father, but murder? Lily watches, wide-eyed as Hermione Granger, the girl who is compared to her so much, saves Harry's life more times than he can think about. Severus Sanpe sees his potential future self's godson Draco Malfoy, and sympathizes with the boy, he understands. Because he saw his mother go through practically the same thing in her pensieve, except she had a way out through getting impregnated and married to Tobias Snape. Lily sees Ron Wealsey come back after a cushy Christmas with his family and realizes just how much the boy was like James Potter, except he realized the value of loyalty at the end. Severus Snape yet again, nearly has a heart attack when he sees his own death by snake. Lily shivers in fear at the battle happening, the eleven year olds barely escaping. The two watch potential future Severus Snape's memories, relaxing for the first time since the memories started with a flash of green light that killed Lily. They see their childhoods, smiling at their own yung naivety about the wondrous world of magic, not knowing of the prejudices it didn't even bother to hide. They see the end of their friendship, what would be only a few weeks into the future. They see Lily Potter dying, even after an adult Severus Snape took his life in his hands when he started spying on Voldemort. Lily sees Severus brokenhearted that his first friend died, though she sees through the lies he weaves to Albus Dumbledore. The adult Severus Snape did not love her romantically. Severus sees himself blowing up at Albus Dumbledore because of how he raised a boy like a lamb to the slaughter. The story seems to end, but it doesn't. The two teens are still curious how the stories of the golden trio are relevant at all. Then they see trio become duo, duo become couple, and the couple train. Trail, learn, practice, create, all to become someone else. These were the life stories of Hermione Ravenclaw and Henry Gryffindor, as they were now known. All this information…
The teens came out of their trance. Approximately two decades worth of memories, all viewed in the space of minutes. Lives, created and stolen. He rise and fall of an insane yet powerful dark idiot, and the fall of a modern Machiavelli.
And even with their fifteen year old brains, they understand. They understand why the two are taking their actions, yet how much they still don't know. And they understand that they will not be forced to fight in a war that was for adults. That anything they learn was to be for protection only.
They do not, however, get time to discuss. Harry jumps up. "My wards have alerted me that there is someone desperately trying to get into my office. Hermione, stay here with Lily and Severus will you? He needs to learn about his new familiar, and there are some things that still need to be explained."
Harry spun on his heel, and apparated within Hogwarts. Lily fainted. Hermione did the same the first time she saw it. After all, that is what happens to those who worship Hogwarts: A history for their first few years in the magical world.
Regulus Black screamed when he saw an ethereal chimera, snake's head and lion's body, come out from nowhere and approach him in the Slytherin common room. Instead of trying to eat him or hissing or whatever real chimeras did, it spoke. But not in it's own voice. In the voice of the new DADA teacher, Professor Gryffindor. Only then did he realize that this was a patronus that somehow spoke. It said, "Mister Black, your older brother seems to be having a mental breakdown in my office. He said something about you also knowing, and asking for help. Would you come to my office, you're not in trouble, but when one of my students seems to be having a panic attack, I would rather find out what's going on before subjecting them to Madam Pomphrey's domain for the next few weeks, until she deems them alright. Also if you are in the Slytherin common room, tell them Salazar's basilisk's first egg hatched, and the egg's familiar is in your house, enjoy figuring out who it is. I guarantee it will be a surprise!" and the patronus dissipated, the Slytherin rumor mill (of course they have one. If gryffindor and hufflepuff have it, why not the snake pit?) went into overdrive mode. First the entire house found out that the so-called monster in the Chamber of Secrets, was, in fact, a basilisk that had been there for a millennium. Then they found out that a basilisk was normally born from a chicken's egg that hatches underneath the toad. But if a basilisk survives for a thousand years, meaning nobody kills it, as basilisks are immortal unless killed on purpose, it can have an egg, as all basilisks are female and do not need to be impregnated (the first yeast scrunch their noses at that point). And then a sixth year arithmancy student figured out that the basilisk had just given birth tha few hours ago. And so Regulus Black managed to sneak out of the Slytherin common room while his housemates were debating the merits of drawing lots to see who would send a patronus to Lord Voldemort to discover if the basilisk's familiar was related to him. Never let it be said that Slytherin's don't have their own suicidal idiots, just like Gryffindor. Although, it was completely normal for half the house to admit they knew how to get in contact with said Dark Lord. The Slytherin common room had no measure of discretion about the legality of their discussion topics. Why, should they?
