Chapter 10

Somewhere far in the eastern side of the world. A certain silver haired elf twitched his ears as he raised his head high, watching the clouds pass by. The pale sword by his side pulsed with energy.

"What is it?" his voice asked.

The sword pulsed again as if answering him. The male grabbed the hilt and unsheathed the sword, holding it in his right arm. An enormous amount of blood suddenly appeared around the blade and swirled around it ferociously. Another pulse of power surged through the sword before entangling itself into the male's body. The power was enormous. Almost unbearable for him.

The pain was excruciating and brought him to his knee. He gritted his teeth and growled before forcing his own power onto the sword, forcing it into submission. It was only a few seconds. But it felt like an eternity to him.

When the pain finally subsided, he immediately collapsed onto his back, panting for breath. His gold eyes stared into the sky as he even his breath.

It had been centuries since the moment his father forged this sword from the fang of the ancient dragon that razed their kingdom into nothing. And this was the first time it had pulsed with power. As though telling him that it had finally woken up from its slumber.

He glanced down the sword and looked at its new appearance. It was a long and straight bladed sword. Almost like a spear with a huge white ball at the end of its hilt, held by a golden hilt. It had a malicious aura when it first fused with the blood that appeared from no where but now, it seemed more elegant and controlled with a soft green hue of aura wrapping around the sword.

The male sighed as he gripped the sword before letting it rest on the ground, next to him.

When he was fighting the malicious aura earlier, a woman with long black hair with sapphire eyes flashed before his mind.

She smiled at him brightly calling him a name he was familiar with a long time ago.

A small pulse came from his sword and the male picked it up and looked at it.

"What is it this time you insufferable weapon?" He muttered with a raised eyebrow.

There, at the very top of the blade, below the hilt. Words were written in a language nonexistent in this world.

It read, "The Priestess Protector"

The memory of the black haired woman flashed through his mind again. The sound of her laughter was clear as day to him. As though she was with him right then and there.

"I will find you. And this time, I will be the one protecting you." He gripped the hilt of the sword tightly as it hummed with excitement as though agreeing with its master.

"We must make our way to the kingdom of Stoicheiodis." He grinned, a fang poking through his lips.

Luna woke up with a splitting headache. Groaning and holding her head, she heard voices speaking all at once.

"Noisy…" She grumbled.

Slowly, her vision cleared and she saw clearly the faces of her worried knights and father.

"Papa?"

"Yes" his calming voice soothed her ears, his hands grasping her tiny hand in his large ones.

"What happened?"

"You were given a bow and then was surrounded by a sphere of deadly mana and blood. When it cleared, you collapsed. It has been three days since then princess." Deacon answered.

Three days?!

She turned to look at her knights and found them battered with bruises.

"Papa… did you hurt them?"

Deo was silent.

"It was our fault princess. We let you get hurt. His majesty was merciful enough to allow us to keep our limbs, let alone our lives." Lucas answered with a sullen voice.

Luna looked from Lucas to her other knights, to Deacon and then lastly to her father. They all looked haggard. But Deo was definitely the worse. His eyes were sunken and dark. His cheeks looked more hollowed than before. He definitely had lost weight in the past the days she was unconscious.

Reaching out to her father, she hugged him tightly. "I'm sorry papa. Thank you for sparing their lives and worrying about me."

No words were said as Deo wrapped his arms securely and gently around Luna's tiny body. She could feel his body trembling ever so slightly. She could feel the waves of relief rolled from his mana. But the overwhelming feeling of fear from him was what made her forget her anger at how her dad had punished her people. She knew it was because he feared losing her.

"I never want to lose you" he whispered.

"Me too papa." She hugged tighter.

Quietly, everyone left the room. Leaving the father and daughter alone was the best thing to do now.

"Papa, when I passed out… was there an egg with me?"

Deo raised a brow at her question and sighed.

"Yes. It was a black egg. From what the squid said, it's a mythical beast…" He stared at her.

a blush dusted her cheeks lightly.

"Erm papa… will you believe me if I tell you something?"

he picked up Luna and plopped her on his lap, facing him.

"Luna, if you told me you are the moon goddess herself, I will believe you." He said with full conviction.

Luna couldn't help but giggle at him which caused him to smile.

She fiddled with her thumbs and scrunched up her nightdress in anxiousness which caused Deo to put his hands on either of her cheek and placed his forehead to hers.

"My daughter, you have nothing to fear. Have faith in me." He promised

Luna stared into her father's clear red eyes. Nothing but the truth was all she saw in them. She took one deep breath and calmed her heart.

"Ok… Papa you must promise me to keep an open mind with what I will tell you" she said.

Deo nodded his head in understanding, his hands clasped over her tiny ones.

Luna looked up at him,

"When I collapsed and was unconscious for the past three days, I was in limbo. A place between the living and dead. There I met an entity that called itself god."

Deo had not said anything as he listened attentively to his daughter.

"The entity spoke of a prophecy. A future where our world will be swallowed in danger and chaos."

Luna could feel her father stiffened. His eyes widened ever so slightly and his hands that were holding hers, tightened a bit.

FLASHBACK

Luna was laying a field of flowers. The sun was setting upon the horizon when her view of the sun was covered by a figure.

Said figure was tall for a human. Easily seven foot tall. Long golden hair cascading past his shoulders. The figure, a male, was wearing a loose pair of white pants with a piece of white cloth wrapped on his waist and thrown over his right shoulder. He did not wear a shirt. Hence, blessing her eyes with ripped muscles on his body. Two thick golden anklets and bracelets were on his arms and legs. A golden cuff on each bicep. He had a dangling gold earring on his left ear which had a ruby gem on it. lastly, a golden crown on his head.

The male had eyes as golden as his hair piercing through her gaze, squared jaw and thin lips. The power radiating off his being was off the charts.

Luna immediately got into a kneeling position when her gaze met his.

"I humbly pay my respects to the great being."

"Luna Astraea Vasilias, Shikon Miko of the Middle World. Previously known as Higurashi Kagome. You have gone through many hardships in your two lives."

Luna flinched when her previous name rolled off his tongue.

"I am honored to receive your praise."

"I am the god of prophecy. I come to you to bring news of the chaos that will befall this world."

fear spread through her entire being.

"In eight years, Monsters will spill forth from the dungeons tenfolds and will take over the world. You have exactly 4 years to destroy the towers that will emerge through the continent. Failure to do so, this world will end and you will never be able to reincarnate again."

Luna was trembling by now, the information that spread into her mind was overwhelming. Pictures of the scenes that lays waiting in chaos flashed in her head. Her blood ran cold.

"Do what you wish with this information. There will be a total of ten towers. Each tower will have one hundred floors. The dungeon boss will be at the highest floor. When you defeat it, the tower will transport you back outside and it will vanish."

The powerful being sighed softly as he watched her reactions. He raised his hand and placed it lightly over her head.

"Your path will only be harder from now on. But you are not alone."

Tears spilled from her eyes as she felt the burden on her shoulders got heavier.

A gentle thumb wiped away her tears and moved to her forehead.

"I, Apollo son of Zeus, grant thee, Luna Astraea Vasilias, the blessing of accuracy with your weapon, courage in your journey and speed of growth. May your quest be swift and may your companions be loyal."

A warm feeling spread through her body before everything got too bright for her and she disappeared into her conscience.

FLASHBACK ENDS

"Papa…?" Her soft voice squeaked in worry.

Deo once again felt at loss for words and fear running down his spine. He wrapped his arms around Luna in a warm embrace.

Luna could feel her father's body trembling ever so slightly again.

"Papa, there's something else…" she slowly said.

Deo pulled away from his seven year old daughter and cupped her cheeks.

"Tell me everything."

xXxXxXx

"I have memories of my previous life."

Deo heaved a sigh of relief. "That wasn't as bad as I thought."

His relief was outlived when Luna tightened her hold on his hands.

Taking a deep breath, she began her story.

"I was born in another world, in a country called Japan. My name was Higurashi Kagome."

She began telling him what life was like in japan. The architecture, the technology. That all children received education. Deo was astonished on how everyone was educated and many more. But what caught him off guard was when she told him on her fifteenth birthday where she fell into an old well looking for her cat and somehow was transported five hundred years into the past.

She told him about the shikon no tama, meeting Inuyasha, being bitten by mistress centipede, meeting her friends and fighting Naraku. She told him of her learning self defense from Sesshomaru.

At first Deo just disliked Inuyasha. But as the story goes, his dislike turned into hate. And when it came to Sesshomaru, he hated the demon as well. But from what his daughter had told him, this yohkaye is honorable. Unlike his half brother. So his hatred turned into dislike.

"I officially adopted Shippo before he went off to kitsune academy." She smiled fondly. Deo felt his heart twisting in agony. There before him, his seven-year-old daughter telling him the story of her previous life where she had fought of thousands of demons to save the world. a world where she had a son.

"What was he like?"

Luna looked up to her father in surprise before her gaze softened. "Shippo… he was the sweetest little fox demon. When I found him, he was trying to steal the jewel from me so that he could use it to kill the bandits that murdered his family." Her eyes welled up at the memory.

Deo pulled her gently into his lap and hugged her, resting his chin on the top of her head.

"He had a head of orange brown hair. Beautiful emerald eyes and the softest cream-colored tail. He was the epitome of a fox. Cunning and smart. He was always picked on by Inuyasha. But despite being the smallest, he always tried his best to protect me when inubaka would run off to his undead mate during a battle."

Her father clenched his jaw, grinding his teeth.

The bastard is lucky he is in a different world or I'd burn him alive!

"Was he strong? This Shippo?"

His daughter nodded her head

"He had great control over illusions and fox fire! You would have loved him papa!"

Deo smiled at his daughter and placed a hand lovingly on her cheek.

"I already do. He seems to be the only one in your group worthy of my acknowledgement seeing that he is the only one that protected you." He huffed.

Deo suddenly frown as he thought of something unpleasant.

"Luna…"

"Yes?"

"How did you die?" she immediately tensed at his question.
