Chapter 11
Luna took a deep and shuddering breath before smiling awkwardly at her father.
"You don't really ask people that kind of questions papa!" she smacked his arm as hard as he could which caused him to flinch and his imaginary puppy ears to droop.
"I'm sorry…" His lips quivered as he continued to look like a wet puppy which got kicked by someone.
Giggling a little, Luna hugged her father and snuggled him. They were both in comfortable silence until she opened her mouth.
"I was murdered by Inuyasha and Kikyo."
This time, Luna definitely could feel the anger rolling off him in waves of pure mana. She trembled at his blood lust and anger. Reaching out a shaking hand, she touched his face. "Papa.. stop…" She heaved.
As though a slap was struck across his face, Deo reigned in his mana and gently picked up his daughter and laid her down on her bed. "I'm sorry! I-"
"Papa… can I show it to you?"
"Show me?"
"My life before this. I want to show it to you."
he smiled at her and nodded
"But promise me no more sudden rage!" she pouted, pinky finger extended which caused him to chuckle
"I promise" he linked his pinky with hers in an oath.
Luna grinned toothily at her father and placed her small hands in his as she shifted her position into a meditating position.
Deo followed suit to her actions and watch with curious eyes as his daughter started to glow pink and her mana was steadily rising. It slowly flowed onto him which caused him to hiss at the pain of her mana flowing into his person when her voice rang clearly in his head.
Do not fight it. Deep breaths and embrace it papa.
He did as she instructed. Soon the burning sensation subsided and was replaced with a soothing warmth that encircled his body. Deo found himself slowly closing his eyes.

Deo found himself in different scenarios from his daughter's memories. But this particular one had his heart filled with warmth…
Long wavy hair that reached past her back. Blue sapphire eyes on her heart shaped face.
'Luna…?' He smiled while looking at his beautiful daughter.
"Nee-san! Don't go! I hate that I don't see you anymore!" Souta sobbed, clinging onto Kagome.
The young woman hugged her younger brother tightly and wiped his tears.
"I promise after I finish my training with Sesshomaru, I will come back for good ok?" she said, pinky finger extended to her brother
Her younger brother was still sobbing but nodded his head and linked his pinky with hers.
"Come back soon. you must come back soon! I'll be waiting for you!" he hugged her one more time before dashing off to his room.
Kagome smiled softly before turning to her mother.
"Okaa-san…"
"Do you really have to go, Kagome?" She asked with a concern look on her face.
"Yes. Okaa-san it won't be long before I finish my training with Sesshomaru. Besides, he promised to come visit me here once I've settled down for good in the present. I promise this will be the last time you see me off to the past." She hugged her mom who was still frowning in worry.
"I really wish you would stay. I just… I just have a bad feeling…"
"Okaa-san… I've slayed Naraku. The feudal era is safe. Trust me ok?"
With a sigh the elder higurashi nodded her head and bid farewell to her daughter.
"Tell jiji I'll come visit him in the hospital when I'm back!" with that Kagome jumped down into the well and disappeared into the past.
xXxXxXx
The scene changed to where Kagome was sitting in a camp, reading a book and grumbling words he couldn't hear despite her yelling in frustration. That was when his eyes darted to the killing intent behind the bushes south of Kagome.
"No!"
It was futile, no matter how loud he shouted, Kagome couldn't hear him since this was just a memory.
Deo watched in terror as an arrow was embedded into his daughter's back. She ran as fast as she could without looking back.
"Inuyasha!" she yelled. She entered deeper into the forest when another arrow was shot at her knee and she fell ungracefully and screaming in pain. Once again she called out her best friend's name and by this time, the assailant Kikyo had calmly stood before her.
"Foolish reincarnation. Did you think you'd get away with taking my soul?" Her expressionless face looked down at Kagome who was panting and turning paler with each passing moment.
"Inuyasha…" she called out again in one last attempt.
A smirk made its was on Kikyo's face.
"You called?" the half demon's voice spoke softly as he came into her vision. Inuyasha wrapped his arms around Kikyo with an accomplished smile on his face.
"Wha.."
"Did you really think I would choose you over Kikyo? Nah, I was bidding the right time to dispose of you after we got the shards. Then we were going to kill you to get Kikyo's soul back. You're no longer of use Kags. Don't be mad though, I'll make sure I tell your family you died heroically." He snickered.
Kagome's face was contorted into a hideous realization that her friend had betrayed her.
"You won't get away with this hanyo-"
Inuyasha's claws were at her neck, squeezing painfully into it. A disgusting smile on his face.
"But we already did." He crushed her neck and threw her body aside and left with Kikyo.

Deo was trembling in anger and hatred for the murderers of his daughter. his thoughts were filled of ways he could torture them and them beg for the death…
When a small hand on his face brought him back…
"Papa…?"
He didn't wait another moment as he hugged her so tight that Luna could feel the breath in her body leave.
"Pa..pa… can't… breathe…"
only then did he loosen his hold on her enough for her to breathe comfortably but still have her in his arms.
"Luna…"
"Papa?"
"Luna…" He said with trembling voice... a small sob escaped him as tears slithered down from his eyes and landed on his daughter's nightgown and wet the spot on her shoulder.
Luna patted his back softly.
After what seemed like almost an eternity, he calmed down.
"I almost lost you too…" He said barely a whisper to which Luna answered with a tilt of her head.
He placed a loving hand on his daughter's chubby cheek and caressed it.
"My wanting to protect you by isolating you had almost killed you without me knowing. Watching you die that horrible and treacherous death brought me more pain than any battle wound I ever received."
"Luna… my beautiful daughter… I will protect you in this life. I will not ever let you go through that pain again." He vowed, placing his forehead onto hers.
"You cannot protect me by keeping me behind close doors forever papa. I need to learn to protect myself."
"No! what if you get hurt?!"
Luna raised a brow at her father and pushed him aside, folding her arms over her chest and glared at him.
"Papa I have a world to save! Did you not hear me when I said there will be chaos befalling our world?" She pouted
"But…"
"No buts! The only way you can protect me is by training me and preparing me to head out and fulfill my destiny as quickly as I can so I can come back home!" she huffed
Luna had to look elsewhere. If she made the mistake of making eye contact with her father who was giving her the sad puppy dog eyes, she might cave in and let the world fall apart just so she can keep her dad happy.
But to keep that happiness everlasting, she has to keep true to her duties or else she will just be thrown into another world and start from the beginning again.
Sighing, he gave in. seeing as how stubborn she already was from her past life, he won't be winning this battle.
"Fine. But you won't be going alone." He said stubbornly.
Luna knew better than to go against him at this rate. Its already a miracle that he had not insisted on her staying protected behind his castle walls. So she nodded her head and rewarded him with a kiss on the cheek.

"What is it? don't you know that its past midnight? I need my beauty sleep." Deacon growled, testy at having to wake up in the wee hours of the night to tend to his temperamental emperor.
"Your sole purpose is to serve me Deacon, not question my actions." Deo snorted derisively.
"I cannot serve my purpose if I am overworked and at the verge of committing treason by inflicting a curse upon you for driving me to near death from exhaustion. Now what do you want, you crappy employer?" he hissed through clenched teeth and folded his arms over his chest with an attitude unbefitting of a king's advisor.
The air around Deo shifted and he took on a more serious look and automatically Deacon changed his haughty demeanor to one befitting the atmosphere, dread at the pits of his guts.
"I need you to train Luna."
A raised brow was all Deo got from Deacon.
"It's gonna be a long night. Take a seat." He waved his hand and a chair appeared out of thin air for his friend-cum-advisor.

Dawn came upon them and Deacon looked worse for wear. There were dark circles under his eyes and he looked more like a ghoul than a living human.
"Wha- why?!"
Deo sighed and massaged his temples. "If it was in my power to decide, she would be safe within my castle walls and any male who looks upon her with romantic intent will have his eyes gorged out and fed to the criminal. But that won't be happening. Now what do you think?"
Deacon was silent for a while, thinking of the best possible way to ensure Luna's safety and her growth. It was then he came to a conclusion. One that his emperor will not like.
"You won't like what I've come up with."
A raised brow was his only response.
Taking a deep breath, Deacon casted a barrier around them to ensure the place won't collapsed on them when his friend burst into anger at him. "I think the best possible way would be to send her out to the adventurer's guild"
Almost immediately an explosion of mana burst forth from Deo as Deacon had foresaw.
"You… Want… Me… To… Do… WHAT?!" his voice was amplified and Deacon amplified the barrier around them by multiple layers as they shattered from Deo's anger.
"Hear me out Deo. The best way to learn is on the field. You had your first kill when you were five. A month later you ventured out into the world under your father's orders and only returned when you were of age with achievements of winning wars and battles. Compared to that, sending Luna out to start with the adventurer's guild is extremely mellow."
"SHE IS MY DAUGHTER!" his voice boomed
"Precisely. Two of the strongest bloodline is pumping through her veins. Not forgetting that the fate of the world is resting on her shoulders."
By now, Deo had his hand around Deacon's throat and his nails punctured through the skin and drawing blood. The latter knew this was bound to happen. His emperor's love for his daughter has no limit and he was basically telling him to send his daughter out to face the danger alone.
"Papa…? Why are you choking Deacon?"
eyes wide like a deer caught, Deo let go of Deacon and quick went to his daughter.
"It's nothing. Just some misunderstandings between the squid and I. why are you up?" he asked as he picked up his daughter.
"I could feel you getting angry. When I woke up, you were gone. I looked for you in your room and you weren't there and I heard yelling so I came here. Why were you arguing with Deacon?"
"It's nothing you need to be worried about."
"You only get mad when there's something to do with me. and that worries me. tell me papa."
"Its not-"
"it's about your training princess."
a large black tendril snapped out and wrapped itself around Deacon's neck and this time it was dangling him mid air.
Murderous intent was seeping out of Deo who was trying his best to control his power and anger so as to not hurt his beloved daughter.
"Let him go papa. You know he loves me as much as you do. Please… don't hurt Deacon papa." Her big round blue eyes shone in the darkness with unshed tears. Deo felt his anger dissipated and Deacon who was released, now on the floor panting heavily.
"I… I don't want to…" he needn't finish his sentence for Luna knew what he meant.
She placed her tiny hands on his cheeks and kissed his forehead.
"I am Luna Astraea Vasilias. I was once known as the Shikon Miko, slayer of the half demon Naraku. You will not be sending me out to my death papa. I am, after all, your daughter." She grinned as she let loose her powers to the fullest.
Deo and Deacon was choked back at the brunt of her maximum output. Even though she was still a child, her current power was half of her father's. which was more than said individual had when he was her age.
"I'll be fine" her whisper sounded strong, her eyes shining as her pupils changed to red.
Deo finally gave in and looked down dejectedly with tears streaming down his face.
"very well…" he agreed in soft whisper.
