Chapter 12
"I AGREED TO LET YOU JOIN THE ADVENTURER'S GUILD AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT ALONE!"
"I WON'T BE ALONE! I'LL BE WITH THE OTHER NEWBIES WHO JOINED THE GUILD!"
"WHEN I SAID YOU WEREN'T GOING ALONE, I MEANT SOMEONE FROM THE KNIGHTS!"
"IF I WENT WITH THE KNIGHTS, MY COVER WILL BLOWN!"
"THE ENTIRE CONTINENT KNOWS WHO YOU ARE FROM A GLANCE!"
"NOT IF I USED A DISGUISING SPELL!"
This was how Deacon spent his night til the break of dawn. The father and daughter duo have been at each others' throat since midnight and they were still going strong. The blonde man sighed as he sipped his tea. He had gone to take a bath, went to the kitchen to make snacks and tea for the three of them and when he returned, they had not finished with their argument. The vein on his temple was about to burst when he finally slammed his fist on the wall, leaving a hole behind.
The father and daughter shuddered as they felt murderous intent coming in waves from their blonde retainer. They could feel his destructive aura that had been piling up in frustration rolling off him unreservedly.
"D-Deacon?" Deo stuttered. Kagome gulped audibly. It was rare to see her beloved uncle slash godfather mad. It was unthinkable to see her father, the man who kills in cold blood without hesitation, to be in fear. But right now in this very moment, her fearless father was sweating bullets as he slowly backed away from Deacon, pushing Luna behind him together as well.
Deacon slowly turned his head to face them and Luna began to understand why her father was afraid of Deacon at the moment. His eyes had turned pure white as though possessed by a vengeful spirit. His mouth was smiling wide from ear to ear, eerily. His mumbles were echoing off the walls incoherently.
"D-Deacon… Calm down. We won't argue anymore! Look, we've made up! See!" Deo picked up Luna and snuggled her cheek to cheek in an attempt to appease the possessed looking Deacon. His only response was tilting his so quickly to the left with a crack that Luna was taken aback, thinking he had broken his neck.
"Quick, say something to calm him down." Deo whispered urgently to his daughter.
'Ok you can do this. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. In one, two,'
"Deacon papa?" She called out, hands reaching out to him, eyes wide open. Luna was in full enchanting mode.
The reaction was immediate. She was swiped out from her father's arms and into Deacon who rubbed his cheek onto hers, his eyes in the shape of a heart and cheeks flushed with happiness.
"Awww! My baby princess called me papa! I'm so happy I can die peacefully! Kyaaaa! How can there be a princess as cute and beautiful as you?!"
xXxXxXx
"So it is decided. Luna will register with the adventurer's guild, gain experience and then tackle the tower one by one." Deacon concluded.
Deo was seething silently, lips pouting and vein bulging. But he knew he had lost the war when it was him against his friend and daughter.
Dea: "You will need someone to accompany you for your registration. Perhaps Lucas or Logan?"
L: "Why do I need a chaperone? Other kids my age that register goes alone."
Dea: "Those are the children who are orphaned, princess."
L: "It would be pointless to go with someone, let alone one of my knights who happened to be well known. People will make quick connection if they go with me since they never hang out with anyone my age. The disguise will be redundant"
Deacon wanted to push further but Deo beat him to the punch.
D: "Very well."
Eyes wide like a bug,
Dea: "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!"
L: "Deacon papa, we will not have this conversation." A glare was all it took for both men to sigh and listen in to her plan.

one month later~~
Luna took a deep breath as she took a step into the guild. It was a huge building from the outside but even more so inside. There was a line at the counter for people accepting quests from the board and another long line for people coming back from their quests. The third counter however, was clear. It was the registration counter.
Steeling her nerves and excitement, she marched to the counter.
"Umm… Excuse me…"
"Hello! Welcome to the adventurer's guild! My name is Julie, how may I assist you?"
Julie, a petite elf with shoulder length brunette hair and beautiful green eyes. She wore a bright smile as she greeted Luna.
"I'd like to register as an adventurer."
"Very well. Please fill in this form. You may ask me anything if there is something you are unsure of."
'let's see… Name…. hmm I'll write Kagome Hoshiko. Age seven… let's see'
Name: Kagome Hoshiko
Age: seven
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Skills: Fireball magic(Beginner), Wind blast(Beginner), Barrier(Beginner)
Weapons mastery: Bow(Beginner), Daggers(Beginner), Sword(Beginner)
Hand to Hand combat mastery: Beginner
(A/N: From here on we will refer her back to kagome~~)
'that should be fine right? If anyone asks, I'll just say I had someone teach me but they died.'
"Here you go."
"Please wait a moment while I go through your application form."
It wasn't even long. She scanned through and rolled the form before guiding her through the back door which led to an indoor stadium where a man was found sleeping at a seat, with his hat covering his face.
Julie went to said man and with a swift motion, she slammed her leg down on his torso hard.
The man who was gasping in pain, screamed bloody murder at her.
"Bloody hell, Julie! What the hell was that for?!"
"You were sleeping on the job again Jeff!"
"There aren't any newbies so I'm allowed to sleep!"
"Not today! I brought a new recruit." She then pointed at me.
Jeff was a tall burly man. Not as big and tall as Logan, but he held an intimidating aura despite his drunkard state. The man had bright red hair and striking green eyes that goes well with his tanned skin... What caught Kagome's attention was the slightly pointed tip of his ears.
"A dwarf?" his ears twitched and he scowled at her.
awakening in this world, she learned that elves, dwarves, dragonewts and beastmen existed here. Dwarves however, aren't as short statured as she had thought. They were almost on par with the barbarians in height, bulk and strength.
"This brat wants to take the test? Leave me alone. Hey kid, go back home. The world of an adventurer is a bloody one. Enemies won't wait to attack you and they won't have mercy on children. So go home when you still can." He shooed her away and turned back to sleeping.
Kagome's brow twitched in annoyance
"Fireball" she shot at him and watched with satisfaction as he jumped away in a speed of light.
"What the"
"Enemies won't wait to attack you." his words were spat back to him and Kagome quickly casted three layers of barrier around herself.
a grin was all she saw before he disappeared and reappeared behind and threw a punch into her sides as she flew into the wall at the other end.
"JEFF! THAT IS A CHILD!" Julie yelled but was stopped when he lifted his hand and pointed into Kagome's position.
"Oh ho~ you casted a barrier around you and when I hit you, you threw your body back to soften the blow." He commented.
The dust cleared and Kagome was panting from the crater she was in.
'this damn fucking monster! I'd die here first before I managed to enter the tower'
despite her little devil chanting at her to release her full potential, now was not the time nor the place to blow her cover. She wiped the blood and sweat from her forehead and thanking god she had braided her silver hair before registering today.
Enhancing her speed with wind magic, Kagome kicked forward to attack and when she was about five meters away, she shot another fireball at him.
Jeff deflected the fireball and snorted. "You'd need a lot more than that to hurt me- oof" she landed a kick to his right ribcage that was covered in five layers of barrier and enhanced with wind magic.
Jeff clenched his jaw and sweat dipped from his forehead. Despite knowing he received a cracked ribcage that came with the kick she delivered to him, he was grinning maniacally.
Julie 'Oh no… he is getting excited from the fight. This is bad! I need to call the deputy guild master!' she cursed the damn man and used her telepathy skill to call the only person able to subdue this monster.
xXxXxXx
K: 'Is he using recovery spell? What the…'
She wasn't allowed a moment to think as her opponent lunged towards her and threw a punch that caused her to fly half a yard away.
K: 'I don't think I'll be able to do much again this guy even if I went all out'
He came forth again with the strongest blood lust she had ever felt aside from her father. Before any hits were landed, Kagome threw her arms up in the air and yelled,
"I SURRENDER!" the fist stopped a hairs breadth away from her nose and the impact behind it was so strong despite not hitting her, the gust of wind that came with felt like it could rip her skin off her face.
The redhead pulled back his arm and plopped it on her silver hair and ruffled it.
"I was sure I had to beat some sense into your head when you shot a fireball at me without warning and threw my words back at me." He grinned.
Kagome ginned back at him.
"The best way to survive sometimes is to know when to admit defeat."
Jeff's eyes widened in surprise before he chuckled at her words.
"Yeah. Pretty wise for a snotty brat! Kakakaka!"
Kagome pouted at what he called her and kicked his shin as hard as she could and was satisfied when he yelped in pain
"HEYYY! Why'd you do that for?!"
"You called me snotty you old geezer!"
Old geezerrrr~ Old geezer… old geezer…. The words echoed in his mind and Kagome saw the transition he went from a face of pain in anger to one empty with sorrow as he crouched and started doodling on the ground with a depressing cloud rained over his head.
"Ano… are you ok Jeff…?"
"BAHAHAHAHAHA!" a woman's boisterous laughter bellowed from the sidelines.
Kagome turned to find a beautiful blonde who's hair was is a high ponytail with purple eyes and tanned skin who was wearing a red bikini top and long pants. She was voluptuous and her hair was tied in a ponytail. Kagome had to push down the urge to blush seeing her in that outfit. She cocked her head to the side and blinked confusedly.
"Erm… who are you?"
Julie took this chance to introduce them.
"Kagome, this is Delilah. She is our deputy guild master and wife to guild master."
Kagome had her mouth in an O shape before asking, "Who is the guild master?"
"That would be the idiot who is drawing old geezer on the ground right now" answered Delilah.
Delilah walked up to them and patted Kagome's head and smiled brightly at her.
"Welcome to the adventurer's guild! Congratulations on joining!"
"Ehhhhh! I passed?!"
"Of course. No adult would have stayed conscious if they had received Jeff's blow like you did the first time. Let alone to have lasted ten minutes with him or react fast enough to surrender. In my books, you're worthy enough than most of the men who joined." She grinned
Kagome heaved a sigh of relief before smiling back at Delilah.
"Thank you Miss Delilah!"
"No no no! Call me Del! Now go follow Julie to get your adventurer's license and she'll go through the rules with you."
Kagome nodded excitedly and bounced off following the elf.
A/N: I'm on the roll! Ok if its botched up, I'm sorry. Spoiler alert: The next chapter will have messed up stats, don't hate me!
