Chapter 13
When Delilah was sure they were out of hearing range, she turned to her husband and punched down on his head hard enough to have the huge man tear up.
"That hurt!"
"Stop being a pansy"
"Why are you so mean to me?" he sobbed.
Delilah took a deep breath before sitting next to her husband.
"So? Why didn't you give her the usual test rookies are supposed to go through?"
he was silent for a moment before answering her.
"she's hiding it pretty well. But anyone A rank and above will be able to sense that enormous power within her."
"So that's why you punched her so hard she flew through the stadium and into the wall and made a crater? If she had a scratch on her head-"
"Then she won't survive the outside world. The princess would have survived well even without anybody's protection Del. The stupid emperor has nothing to worry about. She's his daughter for heaven's sake. And if I didn't do what I did, my dignity as the guild master would be in tatters. And she cracked my ribs! She barely has a scratch on her! bloody monster" he muttered the last part under his breath.
"Like father, like daughter huh?"
"Nah. If anything, she's going to surpass him."
"Can't believe it has been fifteen years since he left the guild. Hell, he joined when he was 5 so he has no right to tell her to quit. Stupid brat. I'll smash his head in when I see him next time."
"And I'll prepare your burial for when that happens." Delilah smirked.
"Gaah! You're so mean to me!"
"Only because you can be so stupid" she laughed

"Please place your hand on the orb. It will measure your magic energy, element affinity and your level and stats." Julie explained.
Kagome was sweating bullets.
'Oh no… if she analyses my power, my cover will be blown!'
Kagome was thinking of excuses when the guild master and his deputy came in and took over.
"I will be outside to prepare her rank tag" She said, bowed and left.
Kagome gulped audibly.
"Take it easy kid. We know you're the princess. That's why we came to analyze your power. if Julie or anyone else knows, there goes your cover."
"EHHHHHH?! YOU KNEW?!" Kagome said in hushed whisper.
"Of course we knew. Your father told us of your arrival a week before you came in. the brat never changes. Always doing whatever he wants. Well at least your temperament is better than he's when he was your age." Jeff scoffed
"You knew my dad since he was my age?" her eyes widened with stars.
"Yep. Elves, Barbarians, Dwarves and Dragonewts have long lifespan. Humans and Beastmen on the other hand live on average to their seventies. Not to say there is no possibility to live longer. But those that do are usually humans with extremely high mana energy whereas those that don't are usually frail. Human mages or humans with high mana energy on average, can live up to two hundred years. The imperial bloodline can live longer than that. Whereas marquis ranks and below probably last until one hundred and fifty at most. Those with ranks earls can live up to one hundred fifty as well but their power aren't as strong as the marquis ranks. Viscounts and barons would probably last til they reach one forty." Jeff explained
"I-I didn't know that."
Delilah: "Those things won't be taught to you until you enter the academy honey. There is no surprise that you aren't aware of it. In fact, only the imperial family and the guild master of the adventurer's guild are aware that every royal child will be sent out to join our ranks and survive the outside world until their coming of age ceremony which is when you turn fifteen."
K: "So how long does a a dwarf live up to?"
D: "Around five hundred years. Dragonewts can live up to eight hundred because of their dragon blood. A barbarian can live up to three hundred years. Maybe they would live longer if they weren't hunted down as slaves. Elves… well they live up to thousands of years."
K: "Wow. And how old was my dad when he joined the guild?"
J: "Your dad joined when he was five and within five years he reached A rank and by time he went back to the palace, he was already ranked S"
K: "And he was annoying when I wanted to join."
Delilah laughed lightly at her and motioned for Kagome to place her hand on the orb before she commented on her previous remarks.
D: "He was never one to care about others. Even in the guild he was a lone wolf. That changed the moment he met your mother. And while rumors went around that he hated your existence and blamed you for Phoebe's death, we knew he loved you. we knew he kept his distance from you to protect you."
J: "A stupid decision he definitely came to regret, I bet. But him fussing over you is proof he loves kid. Don't forget to send us daily reports so that we can send him your letters. I don't want to be on the headline for murdering the emperor." Jeff joked.
K: "Pretty sure he wouldn't go down without taking your arms and legs."
D: "Ok! We're done! Here, take a look." Delilah passed her a microchip and Kagome took it confusedly.
K: "Where am I supposed to insert this microchip? Is there a machine I'm not aware of?" Kagome muttered
Jeff and Delilah looked at each other and then at her.
K: "What?"
D: "How'd you know it's a microchip? Nobody, not even your dad knows what its called when he first came here. And every adventurer swore an oath to never tell anyone who hasn't joined what this thing is."
'Oh fu-'
J: "Isn't it fine? We were told she was gifted in ways we cannot understand. So let's leave it at that." Jeff sighed and ruffled Kagome's hair. Delilah didn't look as if she was going to let it go but after a while she too sighed and shrugged.
D: "This is, well you already know it's called a microchip. This will be assimilated into the back of your neck and will fuse with your body. The effect is almost immediate. You'll be able to see your status windows and information of anything important will be inside the chip and will be accessible to you."
K: "Inserted… in…me…" Her face paled as she gulped nervously.
Jeff chuckled humorously and patted her back reassuringly.
J: "It won't hurt. Delilah's skill, fusion, allows her to fuse anything to a living creature painlessly."
Kagome's jaw dropped open in awe as she looked at the blonde with new admiration.
K: "So cool!"
D: "This nut job is just as cool. His skill, creation made this possible. He made the microchip and the system that comes with."
'Sounds like his ancestor came from a world called earth where he probably lived as a system programmer.' Kagome mused.
D: "You ready for the fusion? I promise it won't hurt."
Kagome nodded in excitement as she sat at the chair and pushed her hair aside, exposing her nape.
Delilah gently placed the chip at the position where Kagome's C3 vertebra is and chanted something softly under her breath and it was only a split moment but Kagome felt a sensation akin to an ant's bite but with a flash of light, it was gone before she could even register the measure of the pain.
D: "All done!"
K: "That was… really fast… and almost painless."
J: "Almost?"
K: "Yeah. It was a split second but I could feel a pinch. Like an ant's bite. But its fine." Kagome grinned.
Jeff and Delilah once again looked at each other with wide eyes before sighing in defeat which only caused Kagome to look at them in confusion.
J: "It's nothing kiddo. Try saying Open Status. It will open up your status window and all your skills, stats and power will be revealed to you.
Kagome nodded, "Open status."
True to his word, a status window which was similar to rpg games popped up in front of her in a black screen

It does not tally with my stats and I thought max level for skills were just level 10?'
J: "To know the details of your skills, just tap on the skill and it'll pop up"
K: "But I'll be tapping in the air though?"
D: "That's how special this baby is" Delilah replied with a wink.
I did as they said and tapped on my title

All skill max levels removed. This world's limit does not apply to you. Maximum character level will be changed from 100 to 999. Skills maximum level will be changed from 10 to 100.

Attribute to holy power will be at maximum. Any ailments, debuffs and curses will be automatically deactivated.

'That last one… Political immunity… what the…' kagome tried to not laugh at it's description and took a while to regain composure.
'ohhh…. That's why my HP and MP is crazy high. Huh… well I'm basically OP here huh? Ailments automatically canceled out… that means poison too right? So cool… this is just like a game!'
J: "Everything good?"
Kagome nodded her head in excitement
K: "Its so cool! You're so awesome Jeff! I can't believe you made this!"
Jeff was taken aback from her praise and he blushed red.
J: "U-uh y-yeah…" He turned away to hide his blush.
'aww… he is so cute when he is flustered!'
Kagome turned to find Delilah grinning at her with a thumbs up. Another person has joined her bandwagon of teasing Jeff. Both of them smiled at each other with a silhouette of a devil's tail was wagging from their derriere.
D: "Is there anything you want to ask regarding the system?"
K: "Yes. Can I conceal the skills I don't want people to see? I mean this is going to come out as my license right?"
Delilah nodded her head and answered,
D: "Yep. All you gotta do is learn concealment and even at level 1 it can hide the skills you want and it won't pop out on your license when we materialize it. Your skills however, will not be concealed to higher ranking adventurers."
K: "What level does it have to be for me to be able to hide successfully from other adventurers?"
D: "Level 5 concealment can hide from C ranks and below. Level 7 to conceal from B ranks. Level 8 from A ranks. And level 9 from S ranks and 10 from SS ranks."
K: "SS ranks?" her mouth gaped open
D: "SS ranks adventurers are somewhere out there. Your father could probably be that now but who knows. He never comes to get evaluated anymore."
K: "Are there anymore ranks higher than that?"
J: "Yeah. That would be the platinum rank. For monsters that have the power on par with the gods. Let's pray that if there ever was an individual with that much power, they be on our side. However, for now, the highest ranking adventurer existing are those SS rank holders."
K: "What ranks are you and Del?"
D: "We're SS ranks honey. Including us, there are 5 SS rankers. If your dad came to be reevaluated that would be 6. But who knows? He is an ass who never cared about it. Deacon is SS ranked too."
Kagome's eyes bulged open
K: "THAT SQUID?!"
J: "BAHAHAHAHA! Squid! I can't believe his god daughter calls him squid!"
D: "Yep. Believe it or not, he really is strong. He was actually the only one ever to party with your dad during their adventuring days. Not many people know this. They did, however, went their own ways when they started the academy. But that's enough talk for now. I want you to finish concealing the skills you want to hide and then when you're satisfied put this ring on and push a bit of mana into it and say materialize."
The ring handed to Kagome was a simple silver band with no carvings whatsoever.
After concealing every skill except the ones written in her application form, Kagome put on the ring and did as she was told.
A warmth was spreading from her heart to the ring and when felt it enough,
"Materialize"
A soft light shined from the ring and before her eyes, a card was materializing. When it was done, the card fell into her hands and the ring changed its shape to a rose gold band with a princess cut moonstone.
