After the four of them got better and rested, they returned to the Vagabond. Neil dispelled Gran from the effect of his semblance.

"You don't need to worry about being troubled by that anymore," Neil said after deactivating the hold he had on the man. "And sorry I used it in the first place."

Gran's fists were clenched, but he remained composed. "Sure," he grumbled.

"I think we should leave you two alone," Vivian interjected, seeing the expressions on everyone's faces. "I'm sure you have a lot to talk about."

Both she and Neil left the room to leave the Faunus alone.

"Do you think they'll be alright?" The woman asked out loud.

"I don't know. Will they?" The red-head turned to face her, looking at her with a condemning gaze.

"What is your problem?" She was getting angry at the way he acted.

"My problem is that you left Ame to die." He raised his voice just enough for the patrons of the pub to hear them.

"You're making a scene," Vivian was getting more and more uncomfortable with the entire situation.

"Oh, you don't want a scene? Then how about we move that to my room?" He extended his hand to show the way.

When they entered, and Neil closed the room, he exploded almost as loud as the slam of the door.

"I believed you would be smarter than this! I believed that you wouldn't just leave someone behind in a situation like that!"

"How could I predict that the entire complex would collapse?" She boomed right back at him. "Do you think I'm a psychic?"

"It's not about the building collapsing! It's about you letting Ame fight alone!"

"I trusted her call!" Vivian took a step closer to reinforce her stand.

Neil moved to the chair next to the only window in the room and sat down. He was looking a bit calmer, but his breath was still fast. "Amethyst many times said to me that she was glad I was her partner. She acts instead of thinking and having a level-headed guy like me by her side to stop her from doing something brash or stupid… It was something she needed. She probably thought that 'hey, you're pretty smart, so you will stop me from doing something reckless.' But you DIDN'T!" He again stood up, pointing his finger at her.

"So you found a scapegoat for the situation, so you want to feel good about yourself? That you weren't there in the first place? Is that it?" The familiarity of the situation hit her. She and Ray used to argue a lot when they were working together. Her heart started to beat even faster as their arguments mostly ended in the same way.

Neil, however, stopped and just looked at her with anger in his eyes. He got closer and looked her straight in the eyes. Her heart almost skipped a beat.

"Would you kindly leave me alone? Forever."

Her eyes widened. An overwhelming urge to just leave invaded her whole being, so she turned around and headed straight to the door. When she closed it behind her to leave Neil alone, she turned around. However, she could not force herself to open the door. Her knowledge that he was inside prevented her from doing anything. Why do all men behave like children? Her anger slowly gave way to sadness as she knew that as long as he himself doesn't want to break the semblance's imprint, she couldn't see him.

"Are you okay?" Nina appearing from behind startled her.

Vivian wrapped her hands around herself. "I am." She looked at the Faunus woman. "What about you?"

Her ears drooped down. "Gran and I had a little talk and decided that we shouldn't see each other… At least for the time being."

"If you won't be working together, then maybe join me? We women should stick together." She forced the warmest smile she could muster.

"I think that's for the best… And what about Neil?"

Vivian's acted smile faded. "He's… In a bad place right now and wants to be left alone."

"Oh," Nina blurted out. "If that's what he wants…" After a slight pause, she added: "Let's just leave this place."

Vivian smiled for real this time. "Fine idea."

Gran was sitting on the bed, shrunk in his stature. He looked like a scolded puppy that knew he did something unforgivable. Nina was pacing from one end of the room to the other, thinking.

"What exactly happened there? Why did you…" She could not force herself to finish the thought.

Granola was unsure of what to say. He didn't remember much himself. "I just lost control… That Faunus… He injected me with something… And I just lost it…"

"But they were locked! You had to first force the cages out…"

"I know how it looks, but I really didn't have any control over myself…"

"I'm disappointed, Gran."

Her words hit him more than any weapon or Grimm could, and looking in her eyes made him squirm. The gaze of being let down was unbearable.

The girl took a deep breath and let out a long sigh. "We both knew you had a problem, and, perhaps, it's time to acknowledge that you need to cure it instead of relying on me to treat the symptoms."

"What are you talking about?" Gran was getting confused. Her use of 'you' frightened him. It was always 'we.'

"I fear that I cannot help you anymore," she looked him directly in the eyes. "I think it's best if we take some time apart… For now at least," she left the room, leaving Gran alone with his thoughts.

When the door closed, he heard a muffled dialog. Probably between Nina and Vivian, but he didn't care much for that. He was blankly staring into space. For a while, there were no thoughts in his head, no emotions. However, the more he felt the crushing loneliness confined in these four walls, the angrier he was getting. The slowly building up rage needed a release…

'You need to cure it instead of relying on me to treat the symptoms.'

Her voice was still ringing in his head…

"I'm trying…" His voice was weak, defeated. But the growing fury inside didn't stop.

"I'm trying…" He gritted his teeth to hold his emotions inside.

"I'm trying!" He stood up and smashed his fist on the nightstand, turning it into splinters.

He was breathing heavily, letting out an animalistic growl with each exhale. There is no one to stop him. There is no one to tell him to get a hold of himself. A scary feeling. But was it really? He was free now…

'Raymond attacked me…'

The anger suppressed by Neil's semblance was pouring out. He wanted justice for the betrayal. Justice? He betrayed all of us, and he deserved to be punished…

Granola smiled when he got a better grip of himself. He was let go of his leash. The feeling of freedom was slowly starting to feel exhilarating.

"You will pay, Ray," his smile grew even wider. "You will pay for everything. Your hate, your betrayal… I will find you, and I will kill you even if it's the last thing I'll do…"

Alabaster, the self-proclaimed sheriff of Kuchinashi for practically a decade now, looked around the wreckage. He saw many things in the time he was enforcing the law in this stinkhole of a town, but collapsing buildings wasn't a frequent sight. His men were franticly scouring the debris in search of anyone who might have survived. The four people that were the only witnesses seemed very suspicious. He will have to inquire for their testimonies later.

He pulled out a lighter and a pack of cigarettes. "I'm getting too old for this shit…"

"We found a Faunus woman! She's Breathing!" One of his men shouted out towards the sheriff.

Alabaster sighed. "Then stop screaming and get some stretchers for pit sake. Take everyone even remotely alive to the hospital."

"Yes 'sir!"

The sheriff shook his head and put the cig in his mouth. The moment he was to light it up, he felt a hand grasping his ankle. Looking down, he noticed a woman who desperately tried to crawl out from under the concrete rubble.

"Please… Help…" She wained with a faint, painful voice.

He quickly shoved the cigarette and the lighter into his pocket and got lower to see the woman more clearly. Tossing aside some of the rocks, he uncovered more of her. She was extremely bruised. Black marks on her body were a clear sign of substantial trauma, and it was clear she needed medical attention.

"That's why we're here, ma'am."
