Kiritsugu massaged his headache. No one knew how this happened, but the government chalked it up to a terrorist attack, but he knew better this was something else, but he couldn't find anything. The church and the clock tower were acting strange, they wouldn't let this kind of event go considering the amount of Od and prana he detected in the air.
Yet they did. The Kischur Zelretch ordered them to stay out of it and focus on hiding. Claiming that these creatures were not human. When the clock tower tried to get more information, the vampire showed them where one world tried the same idea, thinking they can be tamed and harvested.
Whatever they saw, it terrified them to the point they started sending messages to every magus about being in their good graces. The church even ordered their executors to aid these creatures.
Kiritsugu then wonders back into those two strange servants could those two be from the same species. He only hoped Illya was safe, with how spook the clock tower is, his worry grew for his daughter's safety.
His phone rang and the magus killer answered.
"Maiya, what did you find?"
"You were right it's filled with Mana and some strange energy. It's as if some divine spirit fought here."
Kiritsugu frowned, that wasn't good. "What else?"
"From what I can find it looks they were keeping this under wraps, but whatever they were keeping here escaped."
The master of Lion king clicked tongue in annoyance. More questions than answers.
"Though... Saber seems to have noticed something."
"That is..."
"She said the mana in the area belongs to someone who her Knight, Gawain, defeated."
This time surprise took the true master of Saber.
Tokiomi took a deep breath. His servant had thrown a tantrum about trespassers entering his garden. Yet when the attack happened his tone changed, it was more calm and cautious but his words struck Tohsaka patriarch.
It has begun. Those three words made him afraid. What was it? What did it mean? Is there a threat bigger than the other masters? An upcoming apocalypse?
More than that, the clock tower just ordered him to never engage these creatures from other worlds should he ever encounter them.
"Risei, is there any chance we can gain favor from these creatures?"
"Unlikely according to the Wizard Marshall, they only care for themselves, they only form groups when certain situations arise. It's more possible they will steal the Grail should they desire it. Yet Kirei raised an interesting question."
Tokiomi looks at the priest. "My son seems to have noticed these creatures are looking for something other than the Grail. Perhaps someone."
Tokiomi blinks, eyes filled with interest in this knowledge. What could they be looking for? Perhaps his servant knew, but knowing him, it might force him to use one of the command seals. Best save it for later.
Waver wanted to scream this war was getting worse by the day. First Rider, then Archer, then Berserker and Caster. Now this!?
"Now, now master, cheer up. The more, the merrier as they say." Rider cheered. "I wonder if they'll join with us?"
"Are you mad!? Those things have no reason to side with us. Besides, there's no reason for them to rule this world when they can have the universe."
"Yes, yes, but that's also the best. What is a better challenge than facing off against fellow conquerors!" Iskandar said with an excited grin. "Finally, a worthy opponent! Our battles will be legendary!"
"Oh, brother..." Waver muttered.
Gilgamesh clicked his tongue in annoyance as more pests have entered his garden. Lousu had warned him of this event and for once the king allowed hat trespasser to do what was necessary this world belongs to him only.
Now that they have activated the barrier it would minimize the entry, but he still has to deal with those vermin. Ha! As if he would sully his treasures with their blood, nay he will let the other two deal with them."
"I will make you pay mongrels..."
Russell sighed after his fifteenth failure to find the Gatekeeper. Silver was giving him a hand on the reverse side of the world.
"Found anything?" Russell asked.
"Nope, aside from brutalize Goblins, Orcs, and Ogres, nothing so far. I wonder... is Timmy alright?" Silver said while strolling through the river stream of blood.
"Who?"
"Oh right, see an old guy named ROB asked me for a favor. I needed to send a poor soul to another dimension."
"And?"
"Apparently as one of the GG'S, that's God-gamers btw, I have a job to do, and that's sending souls to other dimensions and giving them superpowers."
"God-gamer? And who's ROB? You didn't tell me, you knew someone with that name." Still, how many categories are there for a Gamer?
"In order. God-gamer is a gamer with OP powers from the get-go, no dungeons, no level ups, nada. Easy mode. Anyway, Rob is just some old man I met when I died. He's pretty chill, he told me a simp died, and it's my job to send him since I'm the newest. I have to tell you, that punk pissed me off."
"Let me guess, you rip him a new one."
"Hell yeah, I did. See, he thought he was some hotshot and ordered me to give Lucifer's bloodline from DXD and Chakra. If there's one thing I hate it's people giving me a bad rep. So once I'm done shipped him off."
"Where?"
"To the Goblin slayer, of course, and as a goblin too. He must wait for a year before I activate his powers. That's what you get, you little shit!"
"Why?"
"My World became mundane, aimless, meaningless! I needed inspiration besides, he pisses me off."
Russell just shakes his head. That guy was dumber than the dumbest. Still no clue on where the Gatekeeper is.
Maybe you're looking in the opposite direction?
The sudden voice surprised him as he quickly jumps into the sky. He looked around but saw no one, just people going on with their life while still fixated on the 'incident'. Then he felt an intense headache.
Memories began flashing once more, but less painfully. A memory of a door, a base hidden by trees, a lab filled with weapons, papers, and formulas. Then it stopped.
He took a deep breath and relaxed. Okay, a door, a base with a lab. Those memories could lead him somewhere.
"Silver, it's acting up again."
"Okay, what is it this time?"
"Got a clue on how to find it. Or at least, it looks like one."
"Alright, be there in a minute. You should tell the other just in case."
"I plan to."
"You sure you know where we are going?" Silver asked while looking at his phone.
"Yep, I'm sure," Russell answered.
"Master, I believe I speak for everyone that this is foolishness," Okita said. "This is a trap set by the enemies."
"I agree with Saber," Karla said. "Daddy should listen to mommy," Jack said while riding on Kuro's back with Sakura on front.
"Russell seems to know what he's doing. So let's just give him a chance." Blaire said.
"But what if it is?" Ereshkigal asked.
"Then we break out, Rider here can take the children away. Since she is faster." Dr. Bright said.
"*Cough* Yeah, sure she is. *cough*" Russell elbows Silver gently. Bright snorts. "You two don't count." The doctor said.
"Stop, we're here," Russell ordered.
"Where?" Hercules asked. True enough, there was nothing, just an aimless road.
"There's nothing here, Ruru-nii," Illya said, perched upon her servant's shoulder. Silver snickered at his friend's nickname.
"No, he's right. We're here but..." Ereshkigal stopped herself.
Russell touched it before the door appears on its own. The young man can't explain it but he'd seen this door, not from the memories he received but as in he had been here. More than once, in fact.
Strange.
"A door separated from reality itself," Bright said, trying to touch the door but passes through. "Incredible."
"You guys alright?" Karla asked.
"Yes, just feeling nostalgic. This door, I recognize it. This door belongs to Lousu." Rider said. Ereshkigal nodded. This door was one of Lousu's making. She should know, she did half of the designs.
"Wait, what!?" Russell asked in shock. This was awkward. "May we enter your lover's room?" He asked.
"If it's for the sake of humanity, then by all means," Ereshkigal answered. "But getting in will be harder than you might think," Medusa said.
"Yeah, it has a fingerprint, facial, and voice recognition," Karla said, recognizing the security. "Do you think any of you can open this?"
"Unfortunately, Lousu was still building this in my era, so it's pointless," Ereshkigal said.
"For me, Lousu was still trying to build a working security system that deals with shapeshifters."
"Great... Back to square one." Blaire said.
Russell frowned before looking for other ways for entry. He found one; it was a dial-pad hidden completely with how it blended with the area. "Hey guys, look at this."
"What is it?" Bright asked. "A dial-pad? what's that doing here?"
"For a hidden entrance?" Blaire suggested.
"But how is that going to get us in? We still don't know the password."
"I could travel back in time and peak." Silver offered.
"I doubt it. One of it's earlier security is that it randomly appears, all over the world. Lousu would have to travel to get to it." Ereshkigal said. "He also changes the password every day."
"Your husband likes complicated stuff." Silver said. Seriously, that's dumb but also smart in case someone is chasing you. Hide in a bunker that appears randomly to throw them off.
Russell glances at the pad and placed his old phone number. He didn't know why, though. The door hissed before it slides open. Everyone turns to him.
"My Bad Luck." He answered while almost everyone gave him a 'bullshit' look.
"How is it still bad?" Sakura asked.
"Because every time I get a good roll, the bad one just ruins it," Russell said. Sakura became worried, but a quick head pat pacified it.
The group entered slowly, and what they noticed was that Silver had a striking resemblance to Russell in terms of looks. In one room was a lot of boards filled with complicated calculations. In another was filled with unfinished projects. Russell stopped before one room. This was out of place.
"Why is there an incubator?" Karla asked. "Did one of you have a kid?"
"No, Lousu was pretty against it. He seems afraid of becoming a father," Ereshkigal said. She knew little of her lover's past, but she knew one thing, he was afraid of it.
Medusa merely shakes her head. Lousu was good with children, but he always avoided having one.
"Not anymore, looks like it," Russell said using his Observe. No hidden clues or anything, but the room felt cozy enough to make him remember his old life. A life of just him and his family. He shook those thoughts away. The past was buried, but it didn't mean it was over.
"Yo Russell, look at this." Silver called.
Curious, he followed the trickster and found himself inside the lab room. One thing struck him, one of the weapon designs.
"Doesn't that look like your gauntlets?" Blaire asked.
Bringing out Ouroboros he saw its resemblance no, it's not a copy, this thing with him and the one on the board were the same.
"Hey look at that one, isn't that your bike?" Karla said.
Sure enough, it was Emperor. The more he looked around, he realized the designs were all in the Shop. What was going on here? One thing is certain, Lousu is responsible for his Gamer?
So many questions were popping up in his head.
"Okay, focus guys, look for anything that helps us find the Gatekeeper," Russell said.
Everyone nodded and scattered. Hours of searching they found not a clue but only questions on what the hell Lousu was making.
"Hey, the computer still works." Silver said. "Damn, password-protected, any ideas?"
"We can't act brashly, if I was Lousu I would set up a self-destruct in case someone gets in," Bright said.
Russell however just presses ENTER and the screen changes. "Or that can happen," Okita said in disbelief. "Master, are you sure, you don't know Lousu?"
"It's those random memories, there's no way I'm Lousu. Otherwise, I would have remembered this place already." Russell said.
"Well, with billions of Gamers whose to say your not? You could be him who got a restart?" Silver said. "Let's not forget those pictures."
"That's ridiculous. Maybe he's my alternate version and last I check I didn't have superpowers before I got shipped off."
"You seem to know everything despite not being here," Ereshkigal said. "Ere, if I was your lover, I would have made the Grail and summoned you back to life," Russell said. "THAT is a fact."
"Anyway it seems, he's been busy, he's been through every universe some aren't published yet... HE TOOK A SELFIE WITH ESCANOR?" Silver yelled in shock.
"He was at their wedding too!?" Russell said while looking at one picture. Escanor and Merlin in wedding dress with Lousu as their ring bearer.
"Okay, what else did he do... More weapons, more armor, more vehicles... No, no, no way, no freaking way!"
"Escanor made my ax!?" Russell yells. Escanor made his ax! This guy gave him something made by the Lord of the sun! He didn't care if Lousu was responsible for him being Gamer.
"Lousu, you're forgiven." But how did he convince him? Merlin, of course.
"Lucky bastard." Silver muttered before looking for more. "There it is. Gatekeeper."
Everyone began reading it. Turns out the Gatekeeper was a weapon created to protect his projects from hostile Gamers.
"Where can we find it?"
"From the looks of it, we need to win the Grail War first to find it."
"Great..."
"Quit whining, you got an ax made by Escanor!" Silver yelled. He wasn't jealous. He could get one of those, but it wouldn't be the same.
"Whatever the case, you can't leave unless you win the war."
Russell tried rubbing his headache off. This was going nowhere. For now, he'll play along. "Okay, let's get to the docks and wait for them." He said.
Seeing as there's nothing more to find, everyone left Russell was the last to leave but before that, he took one more glance at the incubator.
Something was missing here. He just can't find it. He placed a tracker just in case; they needed something from this place.
After six hours of waiting at the docks, they all waited for the upcoming match between Saber and Lancer, just as it was about to end, Iskandar jumps in and tries to recruit them both. Then he calls out to the rest of the cast.
"Well, you heard the big guy." Silver said conjuring his cane and starts walking towards a portal followed by Bright.
"Silver stick to the plan," Russell yelled. "I am sticking to the plan." Silver said. "With presentation."
"Damn it, Silver."
"What now?" Karla asked. "Let's just follow him," Russell said. "Archer, do you see anything?"
"No, everything is clear on my end, Rider?" Hercules said while his master was busy playing with her lizard.
"Everything is fine here. Master? Assassin?" Medusa said while riding Pegasus.
"Nope, Jack will keep looking? How about you mommy Blaire?"
"Nothing here, sweety. Let's keep looking." Blaire said while in her cat form. "
Saber, Lancer, How's Sakura?"
"She's fine. Okita and I are still looking." Ereshkigal said. "Are you okay, Papa?" Sakura asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine, kid," Russell said before entering through the portal.
Gilgamesh glared at the two servants; Arthur and Iskandar with disdain. "In a single night two knaves, dare to call themselves ki-"
"Hey Gil, thanks for the gold a few weeks ago." Silver said, while Bright seemed interested in Gilgamesh's Gate.
"You!"
"Hi, it's Caster, how's everybody doing?" Silver said while waving to the crowd.
"Seriously Silver?" Russell said, appearing beside his friend followed by Karla.
"C'mon Russell, live a little."
Silver? Russell? Are those their names? Why are they giving it away?
"Mongrels!" Gilgamesh roared. "You dare show your face to your king!?"
Russell merely glances at Gilgamesh before dismissing him. "Servant Berserker at your service."
Berserker? How can a Berserker be sane? They're supposed to be rage-filled warriors.
"Oho? I never thought I would see a servant of madness to be so tame." Iskandar said while scratching his beard. "Tell me would any of you like-"
"NO."
"Worth a shot." Iskandar let disappointed look.
Before they could even continue Gilgamesh lost his patience and fired one spear which the two dodged. "Don't ignore your king, mongrels!"
Russell blinked. "Hey Silver, I just realized something." He said to his friend. "What?" The trickster asked. "Mongrels are mixed-breed dog's right?"
Silver knew where this was going, and it was going to be good. "Yep."
"And his part God, part human, right?"
"Yeah."
"Doesn't that mean he's the real mongrel?"
For the moment, the world stopped. They can hear no sound except a glass breaking. Silver chuckled then turned into full-blown laughter followed by Iskandar then Bright. Artoria and Diarmuid tried to stifle their laughter.
The women in the area were a giggling mess. "Since he's the first Demi-god, doesn't that make him the first mixed-breed dog?"
Silver was laughing louder this time, face completely red from the lack of air. "Stop, I can't breathe."
But there's one person who wasn't.
"Y... G... MO... RRR!" Gilgamesh tried to say something, but it came out gibberish.
"I think you broke him." Silver said before teleporting away as the Gate appeared in front of him, followed by Bright. Russell drags Karla away and hands her to a clone.
"I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" The Golden King roared with madness.
Russell can only blink before chuckling innocently. "Looks like I did. He, he, he... Oopsie."
A/N: That's a wrap folk, till the next chapter. Thanks for the support, as always. Sorry Gil I may be a fan but that joke was irresistible. Also after fate universe, he's going to Records of Ragnarok. I've been having a lot of requests to do that first.
