Chapter 15: Legends of Pacifidlog Island!?

"I can see the island!" Ash called out as he looked from the ship's deck. "There it is Pikachu! Pacifidlog Island!"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu responded as he felt the wind on his face. The trio and Pikachu were currently on a ship, and they were heading toward Pacifidlog Island.

"We'll take a quick break on the island. Then, we'll take the next ship to the Sky Pillar," Goh exclaimed as the island came closer and closer. The island was right in the middle of their journey, and the trio hoped to spend some time before moving on.

"It says here that Pacifidlog Island is part of an island chain," Goh spoke as he descended off the stairs. "It is the largest island, and there are many legends about the island and its surroundings."

"Legends?" Chloe asked as she stepped onto the dock. She was curious about the legends, and Goh was busy looking at his phone.

"It doesn't exactly say what they are, but one of the rumors is an island full of Wynaut." Goh replied as he continued reading. "I wonder if it is real."

"It's real alright!" Ash suddenly exclaimed as he glanced over Goh's shoulder. "Pikachu and I been to that island before. We were stranded on it, but the Wynaut helped us get off."

"You've been to Pacifidlog before?" Chloe asked as the trio started to walk on a path.

Ash nodded and looked ahead with a grin on his face. "I remember that we were stuck on Donto Island before moving on to Pacifidlog Island. We didn't spend much time on the island, but there was a Contest Hall on it."

"Contest Hall," Goh repeated before looking at Chloe. "You saw one of the Contests, Chloe. What was it like again?"

"It was interesting," Chloe responded as the trio stopped in front of the Pokémon Center. "I'm not sure about competing, but they were unique. I never seen anything like them."

"Maybe I could go see one after we finish our research at the Sky Pillar," Goh said as he pushed the door open. But before he could step in, a nearby chuckled stopped him, and the trio turned to see an old man sitting near the center.

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhear your conversation," the old man spoke as he felt the eyes of the trio on him. "The Sky Pillar is an ancient site, but only those who are worthy can enter it."

"Worthy?" Ash questioned as he approached the old man. "Who is worthy?"

"Only the descendants of the original Sootopolitans and the Draconid people can enter," the old man replied as he glanced over Ash and Pikachu. "I tried going there when I was younger, but I was turned away. One of our legends stated that the Pillar was home to the flying Dragon that never needed to rest."

"Rayquaza," Goh spoke, and the old man nodded at the name.

"Rayquaza is a Pokémon responsible for maintaining the balance of Hoenn," the old man continued speaking. "Without it, Hoenn wouldn't have existed."

"What about the Draconid people?" Chloe interrupted as she stepped forward. "Who are they?"

The man scratched his black bread before replying, "They are an ancient tribe that live in Meteor Falls. They specialize in Dragon-types and were the ones to call Rayquaza to help the region of Hoenn from a struggle."

"What struggle?" Goh inquired. He was interested in the old man's knowledge, and he knew that the information was valuable.

"Groudon and Kyogre," Ash chimed in before the man could respond. "They battled for control of Hoenn and the world."

"Yes. They did, and Rayquaza Mega Evolved to defeat them. After the fight was over, Hoenn was finally in peace," the man agreed as he turned his head to face the ocean. "But there is another legend, and it is a more interesting one."

"What is the other legend?" Goh said as he sat down near the old man.

The man laughed and responded, "The legend of the continents, of course."

"Continents?" Chloe spoke. "Didn't Groudon created them?"

"Groudon created the land, but he did not put them in place. Another Legendary Pokémon moved the land and formed the continents of the modern world," the old man explained as he glanced at Chloe. "Tell me, does the name Regigigas ring a bell?"

"Regigigas! He created Regirock, Regice, and Registeel," Ash shouted as he remembered seeing the Legendary Pokémon before.

"Regigigas?" Goh asked as he pulled out his Rotom Phone. He searched online and saw an image of Regigigas along with the other Pokémon Ash mentioned. "They look so similar," he exclaimed as he showed the images to Chloe.

"Regigigas created the three Regis, and they were all sealed away in Hoenn," Ash explained once he saw Goh's reaction. "Regigigas is in the Snowpoint Temple in Sinnoh."

"You seem to know a lot about the Regis," the old man noted as he looked at Ash. "Excluding Regigigas, how many are there?"

"Three," Ash interjected, but the glint in the old man's eyes made him hesitate a bit.

"You are right, but you are also wrong according to some," the man stated as he scratched his head. "There is another legend that Regigigas created two more Regis. One made up of pure electrical energy, and another made up of crystallized dragon energy."

"Really!?" Ash yelled as he leaned in toward the man. "Where are they?"

"No one knows, but I think it's nonsense," the man dismissed as he waved his hand in the air. "However, the Draconid people think it's real, and they have been searching for the dragon Regi for years! They think the two Regis were sealed away in some distant land. Again, there isn't any proof, and it's just silly baloney. Honestly, the Draconid people are wasting their time."

"Do you think that the other two Regis exist?" Chloe questioned while the trio were eating lunch with their Pokémon.

"I don't think so," Goh spoke as he looked up from his phone. "There isn't any mention of it online, and it seemed strange for the other Regis to be sealed away from the rest."

"But it could be real!" Ash interrupted after he swallowed his food. "It would be so cool to meet them!"

"Pika! Pika!" Pikachu agreed as he licked the ketchup off one of his paws. It would be cool to meet them.

"Eevee," Eevee hesitantly said. She didn't like the idea of meeting Legendary Pokémon, especially Pokémon that were sealed away. They could be dangerous.

"Cottonee!" Cottonne uttered as she tried to cheer up Eevee.

"Let's ask my father," Chloe said as she wiped away the crumbs on her face with a napkin. "Maybe he knows something about the Regis."

"I have heard about the Regis," Professor Cerise said as the trio viewed him from a computer screen. "But I never heard about two other Regis. It does sound interesting though."

"They're probably not real, professor," Goh quickly spoke. "Besides, we came here to learn more about Mega Evolution. We could research about the Regis later."

Cerise nodded at Goh's words. "Anyway, I want to thank you for the information about the Draconid people," he said, changing the subject. "Ren has uncovered a study about them written by Devon Corporation."

"What did it say?" Ash curiously asked while Cerise gestured Ren to come near the screen.

"The document said that the Draconid people found out that their Mega Stones would react with Rayquaza's mikado organ. The mikado organ is an organ inside of Rayquaza that acts like a Mega Stone," Ren explained as he held up some papers in his hands. "It also says that Rayquaza charges up its organ by consuming meteorites in the stratosphere."

"That sounds so cool!" Ash yelled as his eyes lit up. "Maybe we'll get to meet Rayquaza and see it Mega Evolve!"

"Don't be too excited," Goh sighed as he pushed Ash slightly away. "Rayquaza rarely appears, and it looks like a meteor. We would have to be extremely lucky to even catch a glimpse of it."

"Goh is correct, but you shouldn't be discouraged," Cerise interrupted as he looked at the children. "You three have already learned so much, and I look forward to what else you will discover at the Sky Pillar. Be sure to remain in touch with me." The trio then waved goodbye to the professor as the screen turned blank.

"Rayquaza is awesome," Ash remarked as he and his friends walked toward the docks. "It has a Mega Stone inside of its body!"

"Technically, it's an organ that acts like one, but you're right. Pokémon are mysterious," Goh replied as he stopped in front of a boat. "I think this is our ride to the Sky Pillar. The ship will leave in a couple of hours. We should settle in our rooms first and relax."

Before the trio could step in, a woman rushed in front of them. "Wait! Did you say Sky Pillar?" the woman asked as she quickly adjusted her pink hair.

"Uh, yes," Chloe responded, glancing at the strange woman. "We are planning on taking this ship to go there."

"Then, this is the wrong boat!" the woman hastily stated as she grabbed one of Ash's hands. "Our boat is the right one!"

"That's right!" a voice suddenly said, and the trio turned to see a blue-haired man with glasses behind them. "Our ship is the best one, and it will deliver you to the Sky Pillar in less than a day!"

"I'm pretty sure this is the right boat," Goh faltered, but the two people were already pushing him and his friends.

"Come along now! Right this way!" the woman encouraged as she led them to their boat. The boat was small compared to the other nearby boats, and it looked like it was in a bad condition.

"Are you sure that boat can even float?" Chloe asked, but the two strange people forced them onto the boat.

"It's fine! It might not look much on the outside, but it's better on the inside," the man reassured as the trio followed him to a room.

"I don't like this. Something's wrong," Goh whispered to Chloe when the man wasn't looking. "They also seem familiar."

"You're right," Chloe whispered back as the trio continued to walk. "What should we do?"

Before Goh could respond, the trio stopped in front of a door, and the man opened it., revealing a large room behind it. The room only had a single bed, and there was a crooked painting hanging on one of the walls.

"It looks rather empty," Ash remarked as he looked around the room.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu agreed as he perched on Ash's shoulder. He was looking around as well when someone grabbed him from behind and slammed the door shut.

"Pika! Pika!" Pikachu yelled, but he was too late. Ash and the others were trapped inside the room, and he was forced into a small transparent container.

"Perfect," the woman shouted as she looked at Pikachu. "We finally have Pikachu!"

"Phase 1 is complete," the man said as he hoisted the container in the air. "Let's move on to phase 2 of our plan." The two quickly ran away while the trio were reacting to the situation they were in.

"They took Pikachu!" Ash furiously exclaimed as he tried to open the door. It was locked tight, and he tried slamming into it.

"Ash, we still have the rest of our Pokémon," Goh spoke as he pulled out one of his Pokéballs. "Cinderace! Go, and use Double Kick!"

"Cinder," Cinderace declared as he exited the Pokéball. Once Ash was out of the way, he kicked the door with his powerful feet, breaking it apart.

"Great job, Cinderace!" Goh said as Ash rushed out of the room. "Let's go."

"Jessie. James," Meowth spoke as he held the microphone close to his face in the control room. "The twerps broke out. It's time to initiate phase 2."

"Splendid!" James called as he and Jessie continued to run. "Jessie, prepare the machine while I make our getaway."

Jessie grinned as she set up a small car and placed a glass container with a fake Pikachu in it. "Our Pikachu should keep the twerps busy," she muttered before pressing a button. "Meowth, prepare for phase 3."

"Roger that, Jessie," Meowth responded while he placed a device on the steering wheel. "By the time they find out, we'll be far away with Pikachu. I'm setting the coordinates for Sootopolis City." Meowth then opened a hidden hatch nearby and crawled into it as the boat started to move.

"They're moving the boat!" Goh exclaimed as he felt the movement underneath his feet. "We need to stop them." Suddenly, a machine whizzed by the trio, and they saw that it carried a Pikachu.

"Hikachu!" the Pikachu uttered before the machine turned behind a corner.

"Pikachu!" Ash shouted as he ran toward the machine, leaving Goh and Chloe behind.

"Come on! While Ash deals with Pikachu, let's go find the control room," Goh spoke to Chloe before he broke into a sprint.

"Chuuuu!" Pikachu strained as he tried to use his Thunderbolt, but it was futile against the container.

"Why don't you give up?" Jessie taunted as she and James removed their disguises. "The twerps are in the middle of a wild goose chance, and there's nothing you can do about it."

"It'll be too late when they find out. They're in the middle of the sea and can only wait when the boat stops in Sootopolis City," Meowth remarked as he tapped the container with one of his paws. "At least, it's close to the Sky Pillar."

"Pika! Pika!" Pikachu growled angrily, prompting Jessie and James to turn to Meowth.

"What did he say?" James asked as he leaned in toward Meowth.

"He said that we won't succeed," Meowth translated, looking at James and Jessie.

Jessie laughed and shook the container. "But we already had succeeded! Now, let's celebrate! The boss will be pleased."

"Pikachu! I'm coming!" Ash yelled as he trailed behind the machine. The machine was fast, but he was catching up to it. He then leaped into the air and grabbed onto the machine, slowing it down. He grasped the glass container and pried it off before releasing the machine.

"Hika!" the Pikachu exclaimed as Ash began to open the container.

"Pikachu! Are you alright?" Ash questioned as he inspected his Pikachu. His Pokémon kept making a weird noise, and there was seemed to be no reaction from Pikachu.

He lifted Pikachu closer and shook Pikachu repeatedly. "Snap out of it, Pikachu!" Ash said as he continued shaking the Pokémon. Pikachu started to twitch and started to slur as it spoke "Hikachu." Then, Pikachu exploded, revealing a bunch of gears before the skin.

"There's no one here," Chloe noted as she and Goh looked around in the main control room. They were in the right place, but they didn't see a captain controlling the ship. Goh inspected the room and peered closely at the steering wheel. There was a strange device latched onto it, and he saw a big red R on the device.

"That Pikachu was a fake!" Ash shouted as he ran into the room. "Where are they?"

"It's a trap," Goh replied while he pointed at the device. "Team Rocket is behind this, and they must have snuck out when the boat started moving."

"We must be far away from Pacifidlog," Chloe said as she looked outside of the window. "I can barely see the island. How are we going to get back?"

"With our Pokémon, of course!" Ash responded as a grin formed on his face. "We'll ride on Dragonite and Aerodactyl. Knowing Team Rocket, they must still be nearby."

"Today is a great day!" Jessie said as she leaned on a beach chair. "We tricked the twerps and caught Pikachu. We can now sit back and relax for a while."

"Meowth's plan was genius," James spoke as he sipped water from his cup. "The twerps expected us to be on the boat like before."

"You're too kind," Meowth responded as he scratched the back of his head. "It was only a matter of time before we succeed."

"Team Rocket!" a voice suddenly interjected, and the Rocket trio looked around to see Ash, Goh, and Chloe running toward them.

James choked on his water and attempted to spit it out, while Jessie stood up with rage. "How did they get out!?" she yelled as she shot an accused glare at Meowth. "They weren't supposed to leave until they were in Sootopolis City!"

"I don't know!" Meowth panicked as he raised both paws in the air. "It's not my fault!"

"It is your fault!" Jessie accused as she pointed a finger at Meowth. "This was your idea, and you should take responsibility for it!"

"We all played a part in it!" Meowth retorted as he glared at Jessie. "It's also your fault!"

"It doesn't matter whose fault it is!" James interrupted as he pushed Jessie and Meowth apart. "It'll be all our fault if they take Pikachu back!"

"Lucario! I choose you!" Ash spoke as he tossed a Pokéball toward Team Rocket.

"Morpeko! It's time to battle!" Jessie yelled as she threw Morpeko's Pokéball in the air.

"Lucario! Aura Sphere!" Ash ordered, pointing at the Morpeko in front of him.

"Morpeko! Use Aura Wheel!" Jessie commanded as a wheel of aura started to form around Morpeko.

Lucario growled as he summoned a large sphere of blue aura and tossed it at the incoming Pokémon. The sphere slammed into Morpeko, sending the Two-Sided Pokémon flying backward.

"Now's our chance!" Goh yelled as he grabbed Cinderace's Pokéball and tossed it. "Use Double Kick on the container!"

"I don't think so!" Meowth shot back as he jumped between Cinderace and Pikachu. "Meet my Fury Swipes!"

"Cinder," Cinderace exclaimed as he jumped into the air and slammed his foot onto Meowth's face before Meowth could react.

"Ow!" Meowth moaned as he stumbled backward and slammed into the container. He slowly got up, but he was forced to dodge out of the way when he saw Cinderace raise his feet again. Cinderace's feet slammed into the container, breaking the glass and freeing Pikachu.

"I thought that container was special!" James shouted as Pikachu emerged unscathed and glared at the Rocket Trio.

"It was electric proof, but it wasn't made to handle Fighting-type moves," Meowth sheepishly explained as he slowly walked backward.

"Alright!" Ash said, seeing that Pikachu was free. "Let's finish this battle! Thunderbolt, Pikachu!"

"Morpeko!" Jessie wailed as electric sparks shot out of Pikachu's cheeks. "Do something!"

The Two-Sided Pokémon got up from the ground and roared as its appearance changed. Its eyes were now red, and its body was now black and purple. It lunged toward Pikachu with another Aura Sphere, but Pikachu swiftly dodged the angry Morpeko and released a powerful Thunderbolt directed toward the Rocket Trio. The impact caused the trio and Morpeko to fly into the air as Ash, Goh, and Chloe looked up.

"Now! I know!" Meowth suddenly said as his eyes lit up. "The twerps have Dragonite and Aerodactyl, so they must have used them to escape!"

"That makes sense," James responded as he closed his eyes and nodded. "Our wonderful plan had a flaw in it. The twerps are smarting than we thought."

"Team Rocket is blasting off again!" all three finally yelled with Morpeko before they disappeared from sight.

"We learned a lot today," Goh spoke as he looked at his Rotom Phone while he lied on a bed. "I can't wait to learn more about Mega Evolution when we arrive at the Sky Pillar."

"I wonder if we'll meet any of the Draconid people," Ash mused as he looked at the ceiling of their room. The trio were currently on the correct ship, and the boat was starting to depart for the Sky Pillar.

Goh sighed as he put away his Rotom Phone and glanced at his Pokéballs on a nearby table. He was staring at Aerodactyl's Pokéball and remembered how disastrous their battle was against Leaf.

"It'll be alright," Ash stated as he saw the worried expression on Goh's face. "You and Aerodactyl will master Mega Evolution! It'll be your first challenge to your goal of catching every Pokémon! I remember how my first rival pushed me too."

"Your first rival?" Chloe questioned from a nearby bed while she was petting both Eevee and Cottonee. "How did he or she push you?"

"I always wanted to beat him, and through our battles, we learned a lot," Ash said as he got up from the bed and looked through his backpack. A smile formed on his face as he held up half a Pokéball in the air for Goh and Chloe to see.

"This Pokéball started our rivalry when we fought for it and broke it in half," Ash continued speaking as he sat down on his bed. "It ended when we fought in a full battle at a Johto League. He gave me his other half to represent the end of our rivalry. I still carry it around to remember what I learned from the start of my journey."

"Woah!" Goh quietly spoke as he looked at the half Pokéball. "Are you two still rivals?"

"I like to think so," Ash remarked as he placed the Pokéball back in his backpack. "After all, I'll need everything I learned if I want to battle Leon!"

Goh nodded as he saw Ash's enthusiasm. If he wanted to defeat Leaf and achieve his dream of catching Mew, he would also need to give it his all. While the two boys laughed and talked about their goals, Chloe silently listened as she thought about her future.

This chapter sets up what will happen at the Sky Pillar, the Crown Tundra, and Gary's reappearance in this story. The Hoenn arc is slowly coming to an end, and the trio will learn a lot at the Sky Pillar.

Will Ash's Farfetch'd and Goh's Scyther eventually evolve into Sirfetch'd and Scizor the same way they did in the Anime?

Yes. I plan on Farfetch'd evolving in a rematch against Rinto, but Rinto will continue to be a rival after that battle. I do have plans for Scizor in the near future, and it will evolve in a similar way.

Me habría encantado que Ash no hubiera dicho una sola palabra cuando luchaba al lado de Lucario y simplemente usted viera usado el aula para comunicarse con el

That sounds like an interesting idea, but I don't think Ash has received any Aura training that allows him to speak telepathically. He can understand a Lucario's words, but he can't talk back yet.

Just to let you know, Poison Powder wouldn't work on steel types like Lucario. Anyhow, I watched Farfetch'd evolve into Sirfetch'd, and he has become quite the knight. By the way, in Bulbapedia it says that in the Brazilian Dub Gengar is male(which you guessed correctly), while Dragonite is female.

Thanks for the information. I'll be sure to remember that flaw and update Dragonite's status.

Will you make a list of the Pokémon that Ash, Goh and Chloe will catch?

I'm not sure, but I do have a general idea of future arcs and what they will contain. For now, I'm focusing on Ash and Goh developing their current Pokémon, but Chloe will catch Yamper soon.

This may be a pipe dream, but can you include a recurring Morgrem that is "evil"?

I was dissapointed that the psychopathic Malamar from the Kalos Saga got turned so I picture Morgrem recruiting other revenge-seeking Pokemon who got "humiliated" by Ash.

I don't have plans for an evil Morgrem, but the psychopathic Malamar might make a reappearance for their plans of world domination.

You said that there won't be a shipping in the story, but if you could add one, which will it be?

I'm not sure since I'm mostly neutral to all forms of shipping. Probably Amourshipping since it has the most amount of "evidence" to support it.
