"How's your Vampire Bat Taming spell coming along, Dora?" asked Xenophilius as he and his wife were getting into bed.

"Well, there are still some kinks to work out," Pandora answered. "My test subjects are no longer sucking blood but they are chewing up various inanimate objects. How have Quibbler sales been going?"

"Spectacularly," said Xeno happily. "I've managed to sell over 200 copies. Who knew so many people would be interested in the recent sightings of Umgubular Slashkilters in Greece?"

"That's great, dear," said Pandora; they had just started snuggling with each other when the sound of sobbing reached their ears. Pandora got up and said, "I'm going to go check on Luna. I'll be right back."

She stepped into Luna's room to find the small girl clutching Hans the stuffed Snorkack to her chest, tears streaming down her face as she sobbed.

"What's the matter, sweetheart?"

"I had a nightmare," sniffed Luna. "I dreamed Heliopaths were chasing me. Then I ran home and they burned the whole house down." Pandora took her daughter into her arms and ran her hand gently through her long blonde hair.

"You know, Luna," she said softly, "dreams are only as scary as you allow them to be. Really, you can do anything you want in a dream because it's simply a part of your imagination."

"But Mummy, how will I know it's a dream? They always seem so real."

"If you want to determine if it's a dream, just think very hard about what you want to happen. If you really are dreaming, then everything will turn out all right."

"Okay, Mummy, I'll try," said Luna, smiling and wiping away her tears.

"Good," Pandora replied, kissing the five-year-old on the forehead. "Sweet dreams."

Luna ran excitedly down the stairs the next morning calling, "Mummy! Mummy!"

"What is it, sweetie?" asked Pandora, turning around to face her daughter.

"It worked, Mummy! I did what you said and it worked! I dreamed about the Heliopaths again but then I started thinking about rain, and all of a sudden it started raining really hard and it put out the fire."

"Excellent!" exclaimed Pandora, picking up Luna and giving her a hug. "I knew you could do it."

"What's all the excitement about, ladies?" Xenophilius asked as he joined them.

Luna cocked her head to the side and gave her father a serious look. "Daddy, do you ever have nightmares?"

"Yes, sometimes."

"What are your nightmares about?"

"Well, I dreamt once that the Ministry of Magic forced me to shut down The Quibbler. Another time I dreamt that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named came back to power and decided to go after another child; this time it was you. He succeeded in killing all three of us."

"That's awful," said Luna. "But did you know your dreams don't have to be scary? They're just part of your imagination. You could've imagined the Ministry people seeing a real Crumple-Horned Snorkack up close and letting you continue The Quibbler. And you could've thought of a swarm of Wrackspurts going into You-Know-Who's head and giving him a headache and making him forget everything."

Xeno smiled at the little girl. "You know, that sounds like a great idea. I can try something like that next time I have a bad dream."

Later as Xeno was looking over the articles his writers had sent him for the following Quibbler issue, he thought to himself, Perhaps this next issue should include a questionnaire about people's dreams and how said dreams could play out differently. It's certainly a great way to help expand one's mind.
