"What do you think, Daddy?" asked Luna, holding up her drawing. The little girl had been helping her father with the cover design for the December issue of The Quibbler; she had drawn Father Christmas with Dirigible Plums around his belt.

"It's excellent," Xenophilius replied. "Though, you may want to add a butterbeer cork bracelet as well." Luna nodded and drew a butterbeer cork bracelet around Father Christmas's right wrist. "Perfect!" her father declared happily; with that he got busy printing.

Meanwhile Pandora was coming up from the lab after working on a new anti-sleepwalking potion, one that Luna would only have to take once a week, when she heard a voice from the fireplace. "Hello?" The witch spotted Cedric's head resting there.

"Oh, hello, Cedric," she said. "Luna's in the study with her father. Wait a moment while I go and fetch her." Luna was in front of the fireplace within minutes.

"Hi, Lu!" Cedric said. "Guess what? Dad won tickets to the Quidditch match this Saturday! Puddlemere United vs. the Tutshill Tornados!"

"He did?"

"Yeah, and Mum doesn't want to go, which leaves us with an extra ticket so you can come with us!"

"Really?" Luna replied excitedly. "I'd love to!"

"Cool! I'll see you Saturday then."

Luna skipped happily down the stairs on Saturday morning, humming to herself. After a quick breakfast, she was about to Floo to the Diggorys' when her parents stopped her to have a last-minute word with her.

"Now, Luna," Xeno said, "what must you do if you feel a Wrackspurt flying around?"

"Think the happiest thought I can," the six-year-old answered. "Wrackspurts can't stand happy thoughts."

"That's right. And remember..."

"Always be myself no matter what anybody else thinks." Her father nodded; Pandora then took off her butterbeer cork necklace and put it on Luna, then handed her a bottle of Nargle repellent.

"You will need as much protection as possible," she explained.

"Thank you, Mummy," said Luna.

"Have fun!" Pandora called after her as the little girl was whisked to the Diggory house.

An hour later found Cedric, Luna, and Amos sitting in the nosebleed section of the stands; the match was due to start in ten minutes. "I'm going to get some popcorn and peanuts," Amos told them as he got up. "You two stay put."

As soon as Amos had walked off, Luna got out her Nargle repellent and sprayed a great deal of it on the head of a middle-aged wizard who was sitting in the seat directly in front of her.

"OI!" the man yelled, turning around to face Luna and wrinkling his nose from the smell of the repellent. "What d'you think yer doin'?!"

"I thought I saw some Nargles flying around your head," the little girl told him.

"What the bloody hell you talkin' about?!" spat the wizard furiously. Luna opened her mouth to answer, but then Cedric pulled her aside.

"Luna!" he hissed. "You can't just go spraying that stuff everywhere!"

"But I was just trying to - "

"I know, but we don't wanna make a scene!"

Amos came back with their snacks right before the commentator's voice echoed across the stadium: "Hello and welcome to today's exciting Quidditch match between Puddlemere United and the Tutshill Tornados! I'm your commentator, Erwin Hughes! Here come the Puddlemere United players - the Chasers, Newton, Cavanaugh, and Flowers! The Beaters, McCormick and Hall! The Keeper, Thomas! And...the Seeker, Gardner!"

As the Tornados players came out, Hughes called out, "Winston, Dawes, and Armstrong! Phelps and Easton! Browne! And...Oliver!"

Luna stared intently at the players. "That Beater looks like a Wrackspurt got him," she said matter-of-factly, pointing at Easton. "He could do with thinking happy thoughts about the Tornados winning, don't you think?"

"Shhhh!" Cedric hissed. "They're about to kick off! And we're supporting Puddlemere, remember?"

"And they're OFF!" Hughes commentated. "And Dawes of the Tornados is in possession of the Quaffle, he's heading for goal - hit by a Bludger from McCormick, Quaffle intercepted by Cavanaugh of Puddlemere, who passes to Newton, who heads for goal - and PUDDLEMERE SCORE!"

The match went smoothly until about 20 minutes in; the score was 60-20 to Puddlemere and Cavanaugh was currently in possession of the Quaffle. He was just about to try and get it past the Keeper when...

"LUNA, LOOK OUT!" Cedric yelled; Easton had just hit the Bludger in their direction and Cedric managed to get Luna out of the way just in time as several officials rushed to the stands to protect the rest of the crowd.

"I think a Wrackspurt really did get that Beater," Luna said serenely.

"No, that wasn't it," Cedric told her. "He was bumphing!"

"What's 'bumphing'?"

Amos frowned at his son. "I take it you haven't explained Quidditch fouls to her?"

"Er, no," Cedric replied in a low voice. "It, er, slipped my mind." To Luna he added, "Bumphing's when a Beater hits a Bludger toward the crowd to keep an opposing Chaser from scoring."

"That's mean!" Luna cried. At that moment the match resumed with Cavanaugh taking the penalty shot and getting it through the hoop, putting the score at 70-20. Not long afterward, Puddlemere Chaser Flowers repeatedly elbowed Tornados Chaser Winston, causing the Tornados to earn a penalty shot, which the Puddlemere Keeper Thomas managed to save.

By the time the match had ended two and a half hours later, Luna had fallen asleep, her head resting on Cedric's lap. "Luna, Luna, wake up," the ten-year-old whispered. "It's over!"

The little girl sat up while rubbing her eyes. "Oh, hello, Cedric," she said sleepily. "Who won?"

"Puddlemere. The final score was 280-70." Cedric grabbed Luna's hand as the group exited the stands.

"How was the match, sweetie?" Pandora asked once Luna had returned home.

"It was good, Mummy, except one of the Tornados Beaters almost hit me in the head with a Bludger. I thought a Wrackspurt had gotten him but Cedric told me he was doing something called 'bumphing.'"

Pandora sighed and shook her head. "Honestly, the lengths some of these players go to try and win! This is one reason why I've never been a big fan of sports in general - too much violence. And of course violence only begets more violence."

"But what about when you and Daddy fight?"

"Oh, we may get a bit emotional from time to time but neither of us has ever resorted to hitting or jinxing."

"That's good." Luna was silent for a moment. She then said, "I wish my Fantastic Beasts book mentioned Crumple-Horned Snorkacks. Maybe I can tell the other kids all about them when I go to Hogwarts someday."

"Yes," Pandora replied, nodding. "I suppose they might find those creatures fascinating." She then started for the lab. "I'm working on a new anti-sleepwalking potion for you. Would you like to watch?"

The little girl nodded happily as she followed her mother.

A/N: For those of you who don't know, bumphing is one of the common Quidditch fouls listed in Quidditch Through the Ages.
