Hey everybody and I hope your all having a great day, I hope everyone stayed safe but had fun on July the 4th, but I think my internet connection is FINALLY back to normal so without further delay here is the next chapter for "Sonic Legacy"
Chapter 5 The face of the enemy
Knuckles had just finished gathering three more shards from the Red mountain section before he found himself near the shore of the Mystic ruins where he picked up a very strange sensation it was like the kind he would get from when he would be close to a piece but it was off somehow
"Huh…this feeling it's…it's unlike the usual sense I get when tracking the shards this feels…different" Knuckles muttered before he saw three figures approach him and two of them looked like the people Eggman described to him and a third figure with them and he was holding the green Chaos emerald which Knuckles mistook for the Master emerald shard
"Those two…those two have GOTTA be the Flash and Iron man" Knuckles said before he moved in front of their path
"Whoa" Sonic muttered as the three came to a stop
"Who the heck is this guy" Tails asked
*Uncle Knuckles* Dash asked in his mind
"Alright hedgehog…hand over the Master emerald shard" Knuckles told Dash
"Master what" Sonic asked
"The Master emerald…it's the key to the other Chaos emeralds power, you control the Master emerald and you control the other emeralds as well" Dahs explained
"How do you know that, GAAH, doesn't matter, are you two Flash and Iron man" Knuckles asked
"Yeah but so what, a lot of people know who we are" Tails asked
"You both better not stand in my way, make it easy on yourselves and HAND…ME…THE SHARD" Knuckles said as he drew Dragon slayer
"Whoa, look at the SIZE of that thing" Sonic said
*Okay that's NOT uncle Knuckles, no way he would have used a weapon, this is sure not the one I know* Dash said in his head
"Look, I don't know who you are but obviously there's been some-kind of" Tails was about to say before Knuckles rushed forward at great speeds and tried to strike Tails down with an overhead slash
"Mistake" Tails finished in a confused manner as Knuckles soared overhead, Tails braced himself only for Dash to push him out of the way and block the attack with his Chaos sword, creating a loud "Ching" sound and the impact was so great that Tails and Sonic were pushed back and onto their backsides
"Whoa" Sonic muttered
"Whew, thanks Dash" Tails thanked him
"NO…PROBLEM" Dash grunted before he pushed Knuckles back only for him to dig his mechanical hand into the ground to skid to a stop
"Hmm…interesting, for all my life Dragon slayer has cut all other weapons in half or shattered them into pieces…yours is the first one to ever stand up to it without so much as a scratch…Dash, was it" Knuckles asked
"That's right and your Knuckles the echidna" Dash said
"How do you know my name…doesn't matter hand over those shards" Knuckles demanded again
"We don't HAVE any shards of the Master emerald now let's not lose out" Dash was about to say before Knuckles once again ran in with a sword swing, but Dash blocked with his sword
"Okay then I guess you won't listen to reason, but I think I know how to speak a language you know VERY WELL" Dash said before he shoved Dragon slayer away before he jumped up on Knuckle's chest and double kicked him in the chin, once with each foot before doing a backflip kick to the chin, Knuckles staggered back a bit before they continued to clash blade to blade making loud "Ching" sounds over and over again as they moved at incredible speeds that would make Dash's father proud
"Man look at em GO" Sonic said in amazement
"Indeed, very impressive" Jarvis agreed, the two continued clashing, blade to blade before the tow locked
"Your Dash really not bad but I'm better" Knuckles said before gripping Dash's face with his metal arm and tossing him before he started shooting with his repeating crossbow, but Dash shot them out of the air with his Piko-Piko blaster before
"EAT THIS" Dash yelled as he fired a blue-colored beam at Knuckles who tried to block with his metal arm but suddenly his metal arm was surrounded by ice
"Huh" Knuckles said before he had to defend himself against Dash's assault before he was put in another blade lock
"Knuckles you gotta listen to me, whatever you've heard we don't have any Master emerald shards" Dash said
"Tell it to DRAGON SLAYER" Knuckled yelled before he tried an overhead slash after freeing himself from the blade lock and went for an overhead strike only for Dash to roll out of the way, the two continued clashing with their blades before Knuckles suddenly throw four throwing knives at Dash but
"CHAOS CONTROL" Dash shouted as time froze all the sudden, he then sheathed his sword and started grabbing the knives before throwing them back at Knuckles, suddenly time sped back up and one knife's cut Knuckles in the right cheek, the second cut his left shoulder, the third one cut his right thigh and the last one cut his left thigh
"AAH, what the" Knuckles muttered before Dash sprinted at him and they locked blades once again
"I don't know how you did that but it won't be enough to stop me" Knuckles said before he punched Dash in the chest before he pushed Dash away with his right foot, Dash got back to his foot before
"Boom" Knuckles said as he pointed to Dash's chest, he looked to see what looked like a small, sticky bomb
"CRAP" Dash said before the bomb exploded and kicked up a bunch of dust
"DASH NO" Tails yelled, thinking that Dash was dead
"OH MAN...you...you KILLED HIM" Sonic told Knuckles as he and Tails prepared to fight Knuckles
"Too bad...he was a brave boy" Knuckles said
"Thanks" A voice called from the smoke, the three looked to see Dash who was unharmed, surrounded by what looked like a bright, green force field that originated from his shoulder armor
"DASH" Sonic called in surprise
"Your okay" Tails added
"Don't worry guys, I'm good" Dash told his two friends
"No way, those bombs are strong enough to shatter huge stone monoliths" Knuckles said
"You can thank this bad boy for that" Dash said as he tapped his chest armor with his right knuckles as the green energy field vanished back into the armor
"Now your starting to make me mad boy" Knuckles said before he charged again, looking to end the conflict but so was Dash
"CHAOS CONTROL" Dash called as time once again slowed down
"You know...someone should knock some sense into you…but trust me, this'll hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you" Dash said before he unleashed a flurry of punches onto Knuckles chest several times
(ODA, ODA, ODA, ODA, ODA, ODA, ODA, ODA, ODA, ODA, sorry couldn't help myself)
After unleashing punch after punch Dash jumped up and kicked Knuckles on the left side of his face sending him flying into the side of a nearby stone fall, cracking it, time then sped back up as Dragon slayer was sent flying into the air from the impact
"GAAAH" Knuckles yelled on impact
"WHOA" Sonic and Tails shouted at the same time
"What in the" Knuckles was about to said before Dash did a spinning, turn kick and he kicked Dragon slayer's handle hilt which sent the huge sword flying towards Knuckles which was lodged into the stone wall on the left side of Knuckles head meanwhile Dash held the point of his Chaos sword up at Knuckle's neck
"Now…will you settle down so we can explain ourselves or do you wanna go another round" Dash asked Knuckles
"How...how did you do that" Knuckles asked
"I've got a bag of tricks just full of em" Dash answered, things were quiet for a few seconds before Knuckles chuckled
"Alright…ALRIGHT, let me up and we can talk" Knuckles said, Dash then sheathed his sword before holding out his hand to Knuckles
"Come on" Dash told Knuckles
"What…just like that, no suspicion if I turn on you as soon as I'm on" Knuckles asked as Sonic and Tails walked up
"He's got a point, what if he slices you in half and then US" Sonic asked
"I know that echidnas are proud warriors and would never dishonor themselves after losing a fight…they would rather slit their own throat, right Knuckles" Dash asked, Knuckles looked at him like "How does he know that" but Knuckles shrugged it off
"He's right" Knuckles said before he took Dash's hand and he helped him up
"Hold still" Dash said as he pulled out his Piko-Piko gun and blasted the ice off Knuckle's metal arm
"Much better" Knuckles said before he reached for Dragon slayer and pulled it out of the stone wall
"You guys done fighting" Tails asked
"Knuckles, I don't know where you heard that we have Master emerald shard, but we don't have any, check us if you want but you attacked us for no reason" Dash said
"Then explain that sword you carry, I sense it's radiating Chaos energy" Knuckles said as he sheathed his sword, Dash then took out his sword and showed it to Knuckles
"May I" Knuckles asked, Dash then handed him the Chaos sword and examined it
"Hmm…this sword, I can feel that it's radiating Chaos energy but…it's…different from the Master emerald shards…where did you GET something like this" Knuckles asked Dash
"You probably wouldn't believe me even if I told you" Dash replied he took the Chaos sword back
"Now would you mind telling us why you attacked us" Sonic asked
"Well, I was searching for Master emerald shards after this, this…THING shattered it making my island plummet to the ground" Knuckles said
"Your island" Sonic asked
"Angel island, it's an ancient island that is suspended above the clouds by the power of the Master emerald so long as it remains in one piece, shattering it makes the island fall to the earth" Dash explained
"That's…right, how do you know that" Knuckles asked Dash
"Not the concern right now…quick question was this…THING that shattered your Master emerald look like it was made of water" Tails asked Knuckles
"Yeah…yeah, YEAH, it did look like it was made of water" Knuckles answered, Dash, Sonic and Tails then looked at each other
"CHAOS" Dash, Sonic and Tails said at the same time
"Chaos, hey that's what the round man called it" Knuckles said
"Round man…wait, big buy, black and red suit then disappeared into a portal" Sonic asked
"Yeah" Knuckles answered
"I hate to say this Knuckles, but you were tricked by the person who summoned that water creature and now controls it" Tails said
"What" Knuckles asked in shock
"His name is Ivo Robotnik, but we call him Eggman" Dash said, Knuckles suddenly snickered
"Eggman" Knuckles asked
"Technically, HE calls him Eggman" Sonic said
"Yeah, we don't know where on earth he got that nickname for him" Tails added
"At any RATE…Doctor Eggman somehow summoned Chaos and is collecting Chaos emeralds to make him grow stronger" Dash said, Knuckles then had a face on him that looked a little concerned
"Is something wrong" Dash asked
"Yeah, I ran into Chaos a while back but Eggman fed him a" Knuckles was about to say
"A CHAOS EMERALD" Sonic asked
"Yeah he did" Knuckles said
"Oh great, now our troubles are even bigger, that makes two Chaos emeralds that Eggman's fed Chaos" Tails, suddenly an extremely loud sound was heard that caused all four boys to grab their ears in pain
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" All four boys shouted before suddenly the two emeralds that Sonic was holding were pulled out of his pocket by some-kind of force, it was Eggman
"THE CHAOS EMERALDS" Tails yelled as Eggman collected the four emeralds
"Why thank you gentlemen, I've been LOOKING for these" Eggman said
"GET HIM" Knuckles yelled as he charged
"NO WAIT" Sonic yelled but Knuckles didn't listen, and he charged only for Knuckles to be blasted by back Eggman's force field
"OOOOH" Knuckles grunted
"I know how that feels" Sonic said
"Now thanks to you Knuckles I now have four lovely emeralds, CHAOS" Eggman called, the monstrous Chaos then appeared
"Oh great, HIM again" Tails said, Eggman then gave the monster the two emeralds which turned it into Chaos 4
"OH man, that things getting bigger and bigger" Sonic said as Knuckles regained his strength
"We gotta stop him" Tails said as they were about to charge before Chaos separated Sonic, Tails and Knuckles from Dash with a bubble of water around them
"I saw you're fight with Knuckles and I must say you are very skilled" Eggman told Dash
"If I wanted praise, I would prefer they not come from you" Dash said as he drew his sword
"Why must we fight…what have I done to you" Eggman asked
"Like you would understand" Dash said
"Very well…CHAOS DESTROY HIM" Eggman ordered as the more amphibian-like Chaos attacked him Dash then jumped towards a nearby pond to which Chaos followed
"Okay then Chaos…let's dance" Dash said to which Chaos charged at the hedgehog, Dash and Chaos did battle on the giant Lilypad's of the big pond and Chaos was indeed stronger but thanks to Dash's Chaos shield and sword backing him up he made the creature back away
"How is this possible" Eggman asked as Chaos backed up
"Now it's your turn egg-head" Dash said as he jumped towards Eggman looking to end this madness as Chaos withdrew, the bubble around Sonic, Tails and Knuckles vanished
"We're free" Sonic said
"Yeah, now let's give Dash a hand" Tails said as the three joined Dash in surrounding Eggman
"Your really gonna GET it for tricking me before" Knuckles told Eggman
"As much as I would love to see how this end's…I have something else in mind" Eggman said before suddenly something MASSIVE appeared out of nowhere above them, it was a gigantic, air ship
"Behold my floating masterpiece" Eggman said
"THAT THING IS HUGE" Sonic said in shock
"The Egg carrier" Dash said
"Hmm, it seems you know a little about my technology, young hedgehog but it pales in comparison to the power of Chaos" Eggman said
"The same Chaos that I defeated" Dash asked with a smug look
"A minor setback once all Chaos emeralds are in my possession then this city and then the world…will be MINE, Adieu gentlemen, until we meet again" Eggman said before opening a portal
"STOP HIM" Dash yelled as all four tried to stop him, but they were too late, and they all crashed into one another
"GAH, OW, HEY, CRAP" The four shouted after they impacted with each other
"Man, how does he keep DOING THAT" Sonic said as they got to their feet
"I don't know but it's getting REALLY annoying" Tails said, the Egg carrier then started to move
"EGGMAN'S GETTING AWAY we gotta go after him and try and get the emeralds back" Dash said
"How are we gonna get up there, only Tails can fly here" Sonic said
"Let's get to my workshop I got something that can get both of you air-born" Tails said
"Knuckles you coming with us" Sonic asked the echidna
"No, I still gotta find those other Master emerald shards…but, um…thanks for setting my head straight, Dash I hope we run into each other and have ourselves a rematch" Knuckles said
"Anytime, anyplace, good luck" Dash replied before the three heroes went to Tails's workshop as Knuckles went his separate way, the three heroes soon arrived at Tail's workshop where he unveiled his plane
"WHEW, nice piece of hardware Tails but um, why do you need one when you can fly" Sonic asked
"When I bring people along who CAN'T fly" Tails said before Dash jumped into the driver seat
"WHOA, hey you don't know how to" Tails was about to say before Dash hit all the right buttons to turn the thing on
"Okay…so he does" Tails said
*Oh man, is it ever good to be back in the Tornado* Dash said in his head
"What are we waiting for an engraved invitation, we got a madman to stop, Sonic hop on" Dash told Sonic
"Oh yeah" Sonic said before jumping on the wing of the plane
"You sure you know how to pilot that thing" Tails asked Dash as he hovered off the ground
"I flew more than my fair share of bi-planes before" Dash answered, remembering his uncle Tails teaching him in his childhood before the Psycho fighters came around
"FULL STEAM AHEAD THEN" Sonic yelled before the three took off into the sky

Next time I will be introducing a certain "pink" hedgehog into the mix as our heroes continue their race to get the Chaos emeralds away from Doctor Eggman
