HELLOOOO everybody and WELCOME back to my story, I hope your all having a great day and are staying safe and sound
I know I updated this story already this week, but I JUST got the inspiration for this new chapter so get set for aa DOUBLE WHAMMY, time for some more fun with this new chapter and boy do I have something in mind
And to everyone who will dress up for trick or treating, I wish you all a very happy and safe Halloween this year

Chapter 9 One act of kindness
(With Dash and Tifa)
As Gamma soared through the air, Dash held on for dear life on it's back as Tifa tried to break out of the small container that Gamma shoved her into
"LET ME…OUT OF HERE" Tifa yelled, trying to punch her way out of her prison
*Come on Dash, you gotta MOVE* Dash said in his head before he struggled against the wind to move up to Gamma's wings before it tried to shake the hedgehog off it by thrashing in the air
"WHOA, WHOA, WHOA…IF THIS KEEPS UP, I'LL BE READY FOR A BULL RIDING CONTEST IN NO TIME" Dash yelled before he steadies himself before grabbing the base of both wings
"Time to GROUND YOU" Dash said as he pulled and prevented Gamma from flapping its wings which forced it into a nosedive
"TIFA, TIFA CAN YOU HEAR ME IN THERE" Dash yelled, hoping Tifa would hear him which she did
"DASH" Tifa yelled back but he didn't hear her
"IF YOU CAN HEAR ME IN THERE BRACE YOURSELF…WERE IN FOR ANOTHER ROUGH LANDING" Dash yelled
"Oh no…NOT AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN" Tifa yelled as the three went plummeting down to the surface but unknown to them, Knuckles the echidna saw them crashing down
(BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM)
The impact knocked both Tifa and Dash out as Gamma was terribly damaged, after some time, Knuckles came to the crash sight and saw Dash laying on the ground
"By the ancestors, DASH" Knuckles shouted as he ran over to him and tried to get him to wake up
"Dash, Dash can you hear me…say something" Knuckles said as he got close to Dash's face, Dash's eyes opened to see Knuckles face close to him
"GAAAH" Dash shouted as he scrambled his feet to get under them and he did
"Sweet mother of mercy" Dash said
"Easy, Dash, it's just me Knuckles remember" Knuckles asked
"Yeah, I remember but…whew, you sure scared the quills off me…please tell me you didn't try to give me mouth to mouth" Dash asked
"GOD'S NO" Knuckles said
"Thank heavens" Dash muttered before he remembered something
"Tifa" Dash muttered
"What" Knuckles asked before Dash turned to the crashed body of Gamma
"TIFA" Dash yelled as he rushed to help her if she was still alive in there, Knuckles rushed over there as well and got to the spot where Gama stored her in his body
"Help me get this thing open" Dash told Knuckles as they both grabbed the spot and tried to pry it open
"PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT" Dash grunted before they managed to pry the door open to show Tifa unconscious
"TIFA" Dash said
"GET HER OUT OF THAT THING" Knuckles said before the two helped Tifa out of the huge robot, they carried her a few feet away from the robot's body and placed her gently on her back
"Tifa, TIFA WAKE UP" Dash tried to shake her awake, after a few attempts she soon came around
"UUUUUUUH" Tifa grunted
"TIFA" Dash said in relief as she opened her eyes
"Oh, my aching head…feels like someone ran over it with a steamroller" Tifa grunted as she sat up
"Easy there Tifa we had a pretty nasty crash, is anything broken" Dash asked her
"Uh…n-no I don't think so, I just got a slight headache" Tifa answered
"Well you know what they say any crash you can walk away from is a good one" Dash said
"Yeah, but I tell you this much…NO...MORE...CRASH...LANDINGS" Tifa said in a very serious voice
"I couldn't agree with you more, I've had my fill with those for today and next week" Dash told her, Tifa then looked to see Knuckles carrying the BIGGEST sword she had ever seen in her entire life
"Dash…who the heck is this" Tifa asked
"This is Knuckles, I meet earlier, don't worry he's cool…after I calmed him down when he tried to cleave me in half with a sword that's more like a heap of raw iron" Dash said
"Uh, yeah…sorry about that" Knuckles said while scratching the back of his neck
"Hey, speaking of which why are you here" Dash asked Knuckles
"Well actually, I was gonna start looking for you" Knuckles said
"Me, why" Dash asked
"I gave it some thought and…you and I got a common enemy in Eggman" Knuckles said, Dash was getting the picture
"Are you saying what I THINK you might be saying" Dash asked Knuckles
"Probably, I'm gonna help you go after that fat tub of lard Eggman and bring him down for letting that Chaos thing lose on my island" Knuckles said, he then held out his right hand to Dash
"Will you let me fight with you" Knuckles asked Dash who got up and linked their right hands together
"Welcome aboard" Dash said
"Really…just like that" Tifa asked as she got to her feet and dusted herself off
"Just like that" Dash answered
*MAN, it's good to be fighting with Knuckles again…even if it is a different version of him, it better than none ever again* Dash said in his mind before realizing something
"Tifa, do you still have the" Dash was about to ask
"Relax Dash…I got the Chaos emerald" Tifa said as she pulled out the Chaos emerald Gamma tried to take from
"Tifa you are one hardcore gal" Dash told her making her smile, suddenly movement was seen and heard from Gamma's body as it twitched and tried to get back up
"WATCH IT, that things still kicking" Knuckles said as he was about to draw Dragon slayer before Dash put a hand in front of the echidna telling him to hold on, he something out of place what looked like a long tube was flailing next to Gamma's body as if it was knocked off on impact with the ground, Gamma was twisting a turning trying to get up but it couldn't, then Eggman's image appeared out of Gamma's left eye
"DOWN" Dash muttered to Knuckles and Tifa as they ducked out of sight
"Gamma, what is keeping you, what happened" Eggman asked, Gamma responded in screeches
"Well, I can SEE you crashed but where is that troublesome hedgehog and that ungrateful GIRL but more importantly WHERE IS THE EMERALD THEY HAD" Eggman shouted, Gamma replied in screeches again
"UH, such a USELESS robot, I should have had you melted down into molten metal and done something else with your parts" Eggman said
"That's harsh" Knuckles whispered, Gamma said something through screeching
"I don't CARE if your hurt…you are no longer a part of my glorious empire, you USELESS robot, goodbye Gamma" Eggman said before the image vanished
"Come on Dash we have the emerald, let's get out of here" Tifa told him
"I'm with her, we've got bigger fish to fry specifically that fat tub of lard, Eggman" Knuckles added
"Tell it like it is" Tifa replied as they were both about to leave before they realized Dash wasn't following them
"Dash" Tifa asked as he looked at Gamma still barely able to move
"DASH COME ON" Knuckles said
"I…I can't leave him" Dash said as he walked towards Gamma slowly
"WHOA, are you CRAZY" Knuckles asked as Dash walked towards the robot only for Gamma to screech as its eyes turned red
"Whoa, whoa…easy Gamma" Dash said in a non-threatening voice as he put his hands up but Tifa and Knuckles armed themselves with their weapons
"Put our weapons away guys" Dash told the others
"Its official that crash knocked something lose in that brain of yours, that's one of Eggman's DEADLIEST robots" Tifa said
"We should just put it down and be on our way" Knuckles said
"Guys, I know this is gonna sound crazy but…please…just TRUST me" Dash said, Knuckles and Tifa both looked at each other but they have seen examples of Dash's honor so they believed he could be trusted
"You sure about this" Knuckles asked
"Very sure…put them away" Dash repeated his last statement, Knuckles and Tifa then slowly put their weapons away as Dash took out his Piko-Piko blaster and Chaos blade, Gamma screeched louder as a result
"EASY GAMMA, look" Dash said as he dropped his weapons
"I'm unarmed" Dash told Gamma as he stood with his hands up in a non-threatening manner, Gamma noticed this and his eyes turned from red to yellow, Dash then slowly made his way up to the giant robot
"I can put that tub back on…if you like" Dash told Gamma, the robot still being cautious
"What is he DOING" Knuckles asked Tifa
"No idea" Tifa answered, Gamma then groaned as if saying "help" Dash then nodded and carefully picked up the tub before seeing where it goes and reattached it
"THERE you go" Dash said, soon Gamma started feeling fit again and it got back to its feet, towering over the hedgehog who leaned down and looked at the hedgehog in the eye
"I'm NOT…your enemy Gamma but you know who is…Eggman to him your nothing but a pawn for him to use" Dash told Gamma, the robot looking down at the hedgehog and Knuckles and Tifa on standby should things turn hostile
"Eggman treats you and the others only as servants, I'm even willing to bet he has never ever even told you "good work" for anything that you have done for him, has he" Dash asked, Gamma tilted his head to the right, listening carefully to Dash
"Is Dash trying to talk Gamma down" Tifa asked
"I…think so" Knuckles said
"Your not just a machine, if I know Eggman's tech he's given you artificial thinking, you can learn and if that's so then you know by now that Eggman is the enemy" Dash said, Gamma's eyes turned to red and it screeched loudly as if it was about to attack, Knuckles and Tifa armed themselves as Dash was taken into Gamma's giant hand
"DASH" Tifa and Knuckles shouted as they rushed to help as Gamma saw this and was about to fire its machine gun right arm
"GUYS STOP" Dash yelled, making them both stop dead in their tracks
"I'll…handle this" Dash told them as Gama looked closer at the hedgehog
"Calm down Gamma…calm down" Dash told the robot who slightly calmed down turning its eyes from red to yellow again
"I'm angry at him to…more than you can POSSIBLY know because of the things that he's done…the…MONSTERS that he's created, EVERYONE that I have ever loved is dead" Dash confessed, stunning Tifa and Knuckles
"Gamma, I know you have no real reason to trust me other than fixing that tube of yours but if you don't believe me than look at how Eggman has treated you just because of ONE mistake, help us take him down because if not then Eggman is gonna hurt a lot more people…like he hurt you by calling you useless which ISN'T true…please help us" Dash asked Gamma, time seemed to slow down as Gamma processed what the hedgehog in it's grip had told him, soon enough the robots grip loosened and its palm opened up so Dash was laying in the huge palm as the yellow eyes of the robot turned green and it rubbed his head against Dash's head, thanking him for helping him
"Ah, okay, okay, OKAY, your welcome" Dash said before Gamma put him down gently, Knuckles and Tifa was astonished at what they saw, here a robot built to kill anything its master ordered it to destroy but now seemingly turned over a new leaf all because of one act of kindness, the other two then came up to Dash
"I thought that thing was gonna crush you like a nut" Knuckle said
"I did to for a second there" Dash said as he fixed his clothing before picking his weapons up
"That was a really big risk you took Dash" Tifa said
"Yeah, why DID you do it" Knuckles asked
"Well, seeing Gamma hurt and vulnerable like that reminded me of the tale of the lion with a thorn in its paw" Dash said
"Where the mouse kills the lion with the thorn" Knuckles asked, leaving the other two looking at him confused
"NO…it's when the lion becomes friends with the mouse after he pulled the thorn out of his paw" Tifa said
"REALLY" Knuckles asked
"Yeah, where did you hear that other version from" Tifa asked
"From my father" Knuckles answered
"That…explains a lot about you…anyway, doesn't matter, what it means is sometimes a simple act of kindness can change an enemy into a friend and why have enemies" Dash was about to say when Gamma leaned down with green still in his eyes and nuzzled Dash's face again as Dash rubbed his head
"When you can have friends" Dash finished his last sentence
"So…he's on our side now" Knuckles asked
"Not just yet" Tifa said as she walked up to Gamma who cautiously backed up a bit
"What's that mean" Dash asked
"Eggman strapped on self-destruct devices to each of his robots should he needs to detonate them and take his enemies down with them if the need arise, same goes with Gamma if he KNOWS that Gamma has turned on him like I have with you, he won't hesitate to detonate the device" Tifa answered
"Sacrificing his own soldiers to take his foes with him…this doctor is without honor" Knuckles said
"You got NO idea" Dash said before he looked up to Gamma
"Bend down here Gamma" Dash said, Gamma hesitated, knowing about the self-destruct devices, he hesitated
"Gamma…please trust me" Dash told the robot, who paused before his eyes turned to green before he bent down to Dash's level, Tifa then looked and saw the device
"This is it" Tifa said before Dash managed to remove it and crush it in his hand
"Gamma, your free" Dash told Gamma
"Okay, NOW is he on our side" Knuckles asked his previous question
"He just realizes that Eggman is the real enemy, like you did, so what do you say Gamma, you ready to take down the fat tub of lard" Dash asked Gamma only for the giant robot to let out a screech after reeling its head back like a wolf howling at the moon
"I'll take that as a yes" Dash said
OH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, another chapter down for the freaking count baby, OH I LOVE THIS, hopped you all liked this little double whammy chapter
