Journey Through Remnant

Chapter 3: Questions and Answers

Beacon Academy…

Tsukasa generally doesn't get fazed by anything, having spent a bit over 10 years traveling through the many Rider Worlds and getting himself in a multitude of unusual situations. Standing before the Headmaster of an academy of fighters-in-training doesn't compare to most of what he normally faces. The Headmaster in question was staring at him was inquisitive eyes, occasionally taking sips from his mug.

The clock tower he was in was pretty high up; Tsukasa was sure that he could see the city of Vale from the window/clock face. Hearing the elevator doors opening, Tsukasa took a glance behind him and was greeted by another new face. The man getting out of one of the elevators was dressed quite formally, and the sides of his black hair were greying.

"Now then, shall we begin?", Ozpin said, getting the traveler's attention, "As Ms. Goodwitch may have already informed you, I am Professor Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy. This is General Ironwood of Atlas Academy." The Headmaster said, gesturing to the new arrival.

He brought out what looked to Tsukasa a glass phone and showed him a video. Specifically, footage of him transforming into Decade, Kabuto, and OOO. 'Must be from a security camera...' Tsukasa thought.

"Well, why don't you tell me about yourself? What were you doing in Vale?" Ozpin asked him with a bemused expression. For a brief moment, Tsukasa weighed his options. Either he can answer Ozpin's answers truthfully, lie for whatever reason, or he can just straight up leave. While he would normally choose to do the latter option and do things by himself, Tsukasa wanted to know more about this world. Someone that seems to be very important in this world should make it easier for him.

"My name's Tsukasa Kadoya. I was just passing through the city." The traveler finally responded, deciding to go half-and-half, only telling the two Headmasters the bare essentials.

Taking in this information, Ozpin continued with his interrogation, "Where are you from? How did you get your abilities?" Normally, Tsukasa would just tell people he was from a different universe, but he'd rather not without any knowledge of this World and how it works. Stories from the World of Build usually involved the military trying to weaponize the Rider System. With this General standing less than 10 feet away from him, Tsukasa didn't feel like answering the second question. In situations like this, Tsukasa decided to do what he always does. Bullshit his way through.

"I'm from... I don't remember." Tsukasa doesn't usually lie, but he likes messing with people and told them the half-truth. In reality, he doesn't quite remember much from his World, only his sister, the house they grew up in, and their evil butler.

"And your suit?" The General finally broke his silence. 'Way to make your priorities know...' The traveler thought to himself. "I don't know who gave it to me. I can't remember their face..." It was a random Shocker grunt that presented the original DecaDriver to him. Has it really been 11 years ago? He's really starting to feel old...

Ironwood, however, stared him down, trying to determine if the traveler was lying or not. Good thing Tsukasa has a perfect poker face. Ozpin, on the other hand, seemed amused at his answers. "Is that so?" He interjected before taking another sip of his drink, "How did you end up in Vale? We have no records of a 'Tsukasa Kadoya' ever entering its borders."

"Not sure, woke up in the middle of an alleyway this morning." Now that was true, Tsukasa was pretty sure that was the first time something like that happened to him.

"We are aware of that. After that you wandered the city and encountered Sun Wukong and Neptune Vasilias of Team SSSN of Haven Academy," Ironwood sounded like he was reading a report, 'They really have eyes in the entire city...' "Soon after, you ended up at ground zero of the Breach." 'The Breach? That's what they're calling it?' It might be important in the future, assuming Tsukasa decides to remain in this world for a while.

"During the Breach, you displayed the ability to move faster than any veteran Huntsmen are able to react and able to manipulate gravity without the need of Dust." The only words important to Tsukasa were Huntsmen and Dust. Huntsmen probably were what they called their warriors; that much was easy for him to figure out. Dust, however, was new to him. Whatever it was, it seemed quite powerful if it also can manipulate gravity like OOO.

So far, this interrogation was going well for him. He barely revealed anything about himself and was learning a lot more about this World. The Destroyer of Worlds was having a great day so far, "What do you want?" Tsukasa has been called many things, a Devil, a Destroyer, but above all, he was an asshole and didn't care much about how his actions would affect him. Being rude to a pair of very important people was something a sane person wouldn't do, but Tsukasa didn't give a damn about sane actions.

"All I want to know is how did a person of your skills and abilities just so happen to be where a major incident occurred." Ozpin answered. 'Hold up... Are they going to pin this on me?!' Even though others had blamed him for problems many Riders have faced in the past, whether justifiably or not, it doesn't mean he liked it.

"Are you saying that you think I'm the one who caused this?" Outwardly, Tsukasa was calm and collected. On the inside, he was very much annoyed. Not even being in this World for 12 hours and already getting blamed for something.

"Nothing of the sort. We have already apprehended the one responsible for the Breach, Roman Torchwick. I assume you've heard of him before?" 'Who? Must be that red-head from earlier.'

"No, I haven't." Tsukasa responded. They really shouldn't be surprised that he doesn't know.

"Hmmm, what do you last remember before waking in that alleyway?" Ozpin seemed to be trying to figure out Tsukasa's story.

"I was standing in a park with someone, taking a photo of something," Not a total lie; he just omitted some key details. Subconsciously fiddling with his camera, he continued, "Something was glowing, and then I ended up in that alley."

"Something glowing? Do you think that was the reason you're here?" Ozpin calmly said. That was something Tsukasa hasn't considered yet. Maybe it was just a coincidence that he ended up in this unknown World. Maybe the Rider Worlds decided that he didn't belong in any of them and just kicked him onto this one? If that's so, someone's gonna get a visit.

"Not sure... Maybe it's just luck." For the first time since waking up, Tsukasa was genuinely confused about something.

"Or maybe, it was fate." Ozpin, however, weighted his own opinion. 'Fate, huh?' Tsukasa didn't care much about his fate, only knowing that it was his to help other Riders complete their stories. Decade didn't have his own story; he was just in others'. But this World doesn't have its own Kamen Rider (or Sentai from the looks of it), only him. For the first time in a long while, Tsukasa wasn't sure what to do.

"Why don't we make a deal?" Ozpin interrupted Tsukasa's thought, 'A deal?' "I can arrange for you to stay in my academy for few days. If you agree to my offer, you would be able to stay however you long as well as make some money doing so."

"Let me guess; you want me to teach in your prestigious academy?" So that was what Ozpin was after, and judging from the look of surprise from Ironwood, the General didn't know Ozpin was going to drop this on him. It was smart, giving Tsukasa a way of fitting into this World. Was that his role? Teaching children how to fight?

"You are correct, help my students know how to fight, and I'll do everything in my power to help you find out about your past," Wait, did Ozpin think he had amnesia? That's ironic, seeing as Tsukasa had lost his memories a while back. Thinking about it for a moment, with how he worded his answers, it wasn't that weird of a conclusion to come to. 'Don't know what he can do about someone from another World'. "I'll give you some time to think about it. I'll ask Ms. Goodwitch to show you where you can stay for the next few days," Ozpin took out his device from earlier and typed in a message for whoever this Goodwitch was.

"Are you sure about this Ozpin?" Ironwood was skeptical of the traveler, not that Tsukasa could blame him. How was one supposed to react to a completely unknown person with a mysterious past and abilities far exceeding those supposedly the best of their kind?

"I have a good feeling about him, James." Ozpin said like it was obvious. Did they remember that Tsukasa was still in the room?

Before their conversation could continue, one of the elevator doors open, carrying the woman from earlier. "If you would so kindly follow her, Ms. Goodwitch will show you to your place of accommodation." Now Ozpin was practically repeating himself. Tsukasa decided to make himself scarce and entered the elevator with Goodwitch, leaving the two Headmasters to discuss.

"I am Glynda Goodwitch, the combat instructor of Beacon," Ms. Goodwitch, or Glynda, introduced herself to Tsukasa, "I would warn you; if you break any of the rules enforced in Beacon, we would have to punish you accordingly." So she was the strict teacher.

Night, Tsukasa's Room…

Now alone with his thought, Tsukasa could finally unwind for a bit. The room he was given wasn't all too bad, a comfy bed, a nice desk to work on, a decent bathroom, a balcony, and another room next to it. From what Ms. Goodwitch had told him, every teacher on campus was given an extra room for their extra-curricular activities. Lying on his bed, Tsukasa was now thinking up the pros and cons of agreeing to Ozpin's deal. Firstly, he would get a stable income. Something tells him this world doesn't use yen. Secondly, he could find out more about this World with access to the campus' library. Ms. Goodwitch gave him a small tour of the place on the way to his room.

The only disadvantage he could see was that They'd probably monitor him 24/7. He'll also have to deal with a slew of teenagers to teach. He didn't teach the others without coming to blows with most of them. Now that he's thinking about it, Tsukasa was not even sure what he would be teaching. Probably combat.

If he decides to leave, however, Tsukasa would be operating with little to no knowledge. He also doesn't have a single penny (or whatever they use as currency) to his name. They'd also still be tracking him and keeping an eye on what he's doing. Tsukasa knows that he can easily outrun them, but it would be a hassle for him.

Plus, with the extra room he's got, Tsukasa would be able to process the photos he's collected from the World of Zi-O if he stayed. He was swamped when he was there.

Putting a pin on the thought, Tsukasa went to sleep. He can think about it more tomorrow.

Student's Dormitory, in a certain room…

Cinder Fall was reviewing footage of the Breach, specifically of a certain magenta fighter. Mercury and Emerald, mostly Mercury, were telling her about the traveler. "-and he just sealed up the wreck. Just like that." Mercury finished up his story.

"What're we gonna do, Ma'am?" Emerald chimed in.

"Interesting..." Cinder mumbled, "His abilities seemed to on par with a Maiden's. Regardless, we'll just have to keep monitoring him; I'll have to inform her."

A/N: This chapter had a lot of talking, which I'm not great at. Writing or in real life...

Truth be told, this story was the result of me not being able to sleep. I didn't even know what I wanna do with it. I have a rough idea of where I want it to go but other than that, nothing.

Now that I have a clearer head, I realized putting Decade at the end of Season 2 wasn't that great of an idea. With season 3 being focused on the Vytel Festival, there's not much where I can put him smoothly. At least there was a small time-skip between the two seasons, though now I have to make completely original events.

There are also two characters I wanna address. First, Narutaki, I want to add him to the story, but I don't know how. In the series, he's a pretty flat character as far as I remember. He was simply there to make Tsukasa's life hell. But, in Kamen Rider Taisen, he was far more nuanced and accepting Decade's role in the multiverse. I have no idea how to translate that well into the story.

After that is DiEnd. Kaitou, like Narutaki, liked to mess with Tsukasa. In Zi-O, he was somewhat responsible for Decade's power being stolen. I think he might be easy to write, but he also might not. At least I can say he's busy with White Woz to explain why he's missing at the moment.

With all that said, please review!
