Welcome back everyone and welcome to the 12th chapter, we are still edging closer and closer to the end of this story, but I'll take care of it when it gets here, anyway time to get busy and
DO IT TO IT!
Chapter 12 The truth
As Dash and Eggman came out of the teleportation warp space, they came crashing down what looked like staircases
"AH, AH, OW, GAAH…OH" Dash and Eggman shouted as they bounced down a long staircase before they landed on solid ground
"UGH, that was nasty" Dash grunted as he rubbed his head before he and Eggman locked eyes with each other, they quickly shot up to they're feet
"Where did you bring up" Dash asked
"I DIDN'T my teleporter was damaged, and it took us here by accident" Eggman answered, Dash and the doctor then looked around
"From the looks of it…we're in the Mystic ruins" Eggman said
"So then GET us out of here" Dash said, suddenly Eggman's teleporter device gave one, last power up
"Or just me" Eggman said before he warped away, leaving Dash alone and he took the emeralds with him
"HEY, WAIT…AAAAH, SCREW YOU EGGMAN" Dash yelled, what he yelled echoed through the long tunnel that was before him, he looked around as the place was surprisingly lit with torches
"Oh MAN I can just hear my mother telling me Dash the hedgehog, this is another fine mess you've gotten yourself into" Dash said to himself as he facepalmed himself before sighing in frustration
"I better find a way out of here and FAST before Eggman finds Chaos again and give him all seven emeralds…if that happens…we're in trouble" Dash said to himself before he started making his way through the Mystic temple, on the way he came across multiple Indiana Johns-style traps and mechanical devices that forced him to figure out in order to move forward, everything was moving from the walls to the pillars in the more massive rooms and it was a really confusing ride especially when it came to the walls that spewed fire, massive waterslides and the massive boulders that were chasing after him but Dash managed to get through the gauntlet of traps and moving pieces until he finally came to…somewhere
"OW, OUCH, OUCH" Dash yelled as he was putting out the fire that was on his hair
"OOOOOH, that stung" Dash said before he sniffed where he was burns
"EEEW, singed fur smell" Dash said before he looked around to see where he was but then he felt the ground shake, he looked up to see massive rubble falling to the ground to which he moved out of the way, a huge hole was created and sunlight shined through, he then saw something else, his friends descending to the ground
"I FOUND HIM" The sound of Amy's voice echoed throughout the room as she, Gamma, Tifa, Knuckles, Ka-Zar, Mugin, Tails and Sonic they all landed on the ground
"Man are you guys a sight for sore eyes how did ya find me" Dash asked
"You can thank Supergirl for that, her super-sonic hearing kicked in and we were able to locate ya faster than a load of buck shots" Sonic answered
"We thought we lost ya there for a minute when you and Eggman went teleporting to GOD'S KNOW WHERE" Knuckles said as Gamma nuzzled its head against Dash's head
"Yeah, Gamma, I'm okay, it's great to see you to" Dash said
"Where's the Egg-head anyway" Tails asked, Dash's face of relief to see his friends turned to worry
"Dash…where's Eggman" Tifa asked
"He escaped and left me trap me here, I've been trying to find my way out until you guys came…crashing" Dash slowed down his sentence when he saw something on the wall on the far end of the room he was in, he then walked towards it as if he was in a trance
"What wrong" Ka-Zar asked as he and Dash's friends followed him until they came to a mural which had a picturing of a terrifying-looking creature on it
"What in the name of the God's is that" Knuckles asked
"It looks like what I thought the monster in my closet as a kid would look like" Sonic said
"Looks like the one I thought was under my bed" Tails added
"Gives me the creeps" Tifa added
"It's no monster…it's worse" Dash said
"Dash…you know what that…that THING is" Tifa asked, Dash tried to think of something
"Dash, not that I'm prying but, you seem to know a heck of a lot about Eggman, Chaos…and from the looks of things you KNOW what that thing on the wall is, does it have something to do with Chaos" Tails asked, Dash knew that the group was starting to catch onto something
"Young hedgehog…I can feel your anxiety, is something troubling you" Mugin asked
"Is hedgehog friend sick" Ka-Zar asked
"Come on Dash spill it" Sonic added
"Dash" Tifa said, getting the hedgehogs attention
"Is there something you're not telling us" Tifa asked, Dash paused before he sighed
*Well, I guess I better come clean and tell em* Dash said in his head before he sighed
"Yes, if my dad was here, he would tell you that he knows what this is and from personal experience…that thing isn't just related to Chaos…that IS Chaos in his final form" Dash answered
"Chaos's final form" Amy asked
"If he gets all seven Chaos emerald then yeah, that's him" Dash answered
"What exactly did you mean when you said that part about your dad" Tails asked, Dash then walked up to the stairway leading to the mural on the wall and sat down on one of the steps
"Guys…this is…this is gonna be a lot to take in" Dash said
"Well, start at the beginning, we're listening" Sonic said, Dash thought about what he was gonna say before he nodded
"Okay…have any of you ever heard of the multiverse theory" Dash asked
"Multi-what" Ka-Zar asked
"The multiverse theory, according to supernatural investigators and even scientists of the highest regard there exists an infinite number of Earths in the universe, but we can't see them" Tails explained
"Because they vibrate at a different frequency, so they are ever present to our own universe but are out of anyone's reach" Sonic said
"What, how do you know that" Knuckles asked
"Believe me I tried to prove that theory by vibrating my molecules at different frequencies…BU-U-U-U-T none of them ever worked" Sonic answered
"Well…I did" Dash said, stunning everyone
"Wait, wait, wait…Dash are you trying to tell us that YOU ARE" Tifa was about to ask
"From another multiverse, yeah" Dash answered, there was silence for a moment at the confession
"Um…explain, please" Amy asked
"About a year ago I was transported here by a set of Chaos emeralds, but not the ones that Eggman's been hunting, you see every multiverse has its own set of Chaos emeralds and mine…they are VERY special" Dash said
"How special are we talking here" Sonic asked
"They can grant wishes" Dash answered
"WHAT" Sonic, Amy, Tifa, Knuckles, Tails and Ka-Zar yelled at once
"You, you mean like a, a, a genie in a lamp kind of thing" Tails asked
"Not exactly like a lamp but…to some extinct, yeah they have the power to grand wishes and they were going to be used by…the monsters that ruined my life" Dash said
"You mean those…THINGS you told me and Sonic about when we were on Eggman's ship" Tifa asked
"The Psycho fighters" Dash answered
"Psycho fighters" Sonic asked
"Listen to me carefully, in every multiverse things play out differently, sometimes small, sometimes big, in my dimension, my parents were the leaders of a band of heroes called the Freedom fighters who had been waging a war against my dimensions version of Eggman, he wasn't like the one we've been fighting but still plenty dangerous, well many years had gone by and he was eventually defeated for good, soon enough my parents fell in love, dated, married…and had me" Dash explained
"Who were your parents" Amy asked, Dash paused
"Don't be freaked out about this but…you and Sonic were" Dash answered
"WHAT" Amy and Sonic yelled at the same time, causing them to look at each other, Amy didn't need Dash's explanation on who the Flash was to put two and two together, the blush he had on his face was all the proof she needed
"Wait so, so me and, AND, AND HER" Sonic tried to say
"Wait, so…in your dimension, I marry…the Flash" Amy asked
"And I marry Supergirl" Sonic asked
"Technically Sonic, you're not the Flash and Amy isn't Supergirl" Dash answered
"Amy" Sonic asked as he took his mask off
"Actually, it's Ame-Ro, my Kryptonian name, when I came to Earth my adopted parents named me Amelia Rose, but my friends call me Amy" Amy explained
"Amy huh…cute name" Sonic said, Amy brushed some hair behind her right ear
"What do you mean that we're not…who we are in your dimension, Dash" Amy asked, trying to change the subject
"Like I said somethings are the same in a different slice of reality and somethings aren't, Sonic is still considered the fastest thing alive but his parents are still alive, Amy is my hammer-welding mother, Tails was the mechanical genius but he isn't Iron man or rich" Dash explained
"So, your saying that in your slice of reality, I'm not rich" Tails asked
"Yeah" Dash answered
"Oh, now that's a tear in the multiverse there" Tails said
"Knuckles isn't this badass swordsman and he doesn't have a missing eye or a metal prosthetic, he's just the guardian of the Master emerald" Dash answered
"You mean…I don't become what I am in your world that the Knuckles clan is still ALIVE" Knuckles asked with hope
"Sorry but, no…you're the last one there to, but then you meet Rouge and then the two of you had five kids" Dash said
"KIDS" Knuckles asked
"Five of em, man you a player" Sonic said
"BACK ON TOPIC…what about me" Tifa asked
"I don't know if there is a version of you because…well, it's not pretty, the Psycho fighters made sure of that" Dash explained
"Yeah, who ARE these Psycho fighters and what did they want with your worlds emeralds" Tails asked
"The Eggman of my world was tried for destruction, attempted murder and several other acts of evil, he was meant to stay in jail…but he was determined to have the final word, he escaped and he pooled all of his technology that he had left together to create the engines of destruction that would change my world" Dash said
"The Psycho fighters" Tifa said
"Right, evil duplicates of the Freedom fighters, faster, smarter and stronger than they're real-life counterparts but without ANY remorse or conscious, no reason just destroy and kill, Eggman created true monstrosities that day…and the first life they took…was the doctor himself" Dash explained
"Whoa, that's SERIOUS Karma" Sonic said
"But that was only the beginning, after taking the doctors life they started rampaging around the world, taking what they pleased, did what they wanted, when they wanted and did it without any mercy, those who fought back were meet with no mercy, only a painful death, even the strongest armies on my world didn't even stand a CHANCE against they're power" Dash explained
"But what about the Freedom fighters" Knuckles asked, expecting that he wasn't gonna like the answer
"Oh they tried to fight back, even old-time enemies were forced to team up and try to take down the Psycho fighters…but even some of my parents STRONGEST of enemies weren't enough, one by one the Freedom fighters fell, my honorary aunts, my honorary uncles, which included Knuckles and Tails…and then my parents, they were the last of the Freedom fighters to fall to they're evil doubles…EVERY…SINGLE…ONE of them…DEAD" Dash said before he punched the ground, penetrating through the stone floor with sheer force
"Damn" Sonic muttered
"So…what happened next" Ka-Zar asked
"The Psycho fighters didn't stop with whipping out every hero on the planet, they RUINED it, turned the once beautiful planet into an apocalyptic-like wasteland where the strong thrive and the weak kneel and after every last Freedom fighter was killed…none on my world were stronger than the Psycho fighters" Dash continued
"No one could stop them" Amy asked
"The only one that could have possibly called them off was Eggman and with him dead…there was NOTHING that could stop them, they have slaughtered millions upon millions who tried to fight back against them even with them dead, a brave few still tried to fight back and try to find a solution" Dash said
"Why not use your worlds Chaos emeralds and they're wish-granting powers to get rid of em" Tails asked
"They don't work like that, Parallax doesn't work like that" Dash answered
"Who" Tifa asked
"Oh, you see the Chaos emeralds of my world CAN grant wishes but not on their own, one emerald isn't enough, you have to gather all seven and then summon forth the mighty, Parallax, the wishing dragon who's soul resides within the emeralds" Dash explained
"A DRAGON" Sonic, Tails and Knuckles asked at the same time
"Yes, a dragon of pure Chaos energy, the same energy that I use to perform Chaos control, Chaos blast and other techniques that use the same energy, Parallax has to be summoned and to whoever summons him he grants a single wish" Dash explained
"So, you can like wish for anything, money, love, fame, power" Knuckles asked
"Almost" Dash answered
"I'm sensing a but here" Tifa said
"Smart woman, Parallax can grant wishes BUT he does have…restrictions" Dash answered
"Like" Amy asked
"Rule number one, his wishes can't be used to end another person's life if it be human, animal or anything else that lives" Dash said as he raised one finger
"So, using a wish for killing is a no, no" Sonic asked
"Right, number two, his wishes can't be used to influence and, or control the emotions of others" Dash continued as he raised a second finger on the same hand
"No making anyone fall in love with anyone else" Tails asked to which Dash nodded before he raised a third finger
"Number three, the wish cannot be used to bring the dead back to life, I heard once that someone tried to bring back his dead wife and…WHEW…it wasn't a pretty sight" Dash said
*Well…there goes MY wish* Sonic, Knuckles and Amy said in they're minds
"Anything else" Tifa asked
"One more, you can't wish for more wishes, he specifically says that he can only grant one per summon" Dash explained
"But other than those restrictions" Tifa asked
"Then you can wish for absolutely anything and after the wish is made the Chaos emeralds that summoned him scatters around the world" Dash explained
"Why" Amy asked
"It's always been that way, after a wish is made Parallax scatters the emeralds across the world, usually takes a person or people at least a hundred or so years to find them again after they scatter" Dash said
"And these evil beings desired the wish-granting powers of your world's emeralds" Mugin asked
"Yeah, you see while they couldn't bring people back from death, influence feelings or kill, they COULD be used to do something else that they have wanted to do…travel to other dimensions" Dash answered
"Other dimensions" Knuckles asked
"They desired, no craved conquest and destruction like it was their own personal brand of heroin, they couldn't get enough of it but when there was nothing left to conquer on my world, they decided to try they're hands at invading other worlds, figured since they killed all the strongest beings on my world that others would be ripe for the picking" Dash explained
"So, they gathered the Chaos emeralds and tried to use they're wish-granting powers to reach other dimensions and take them by storm" Sonic said
"Knowing that there wasn't anything that hasn't already been tried to stop them…these guys sound invincible" Amy added
"That's what I thought" Dash said before he took out his Chaos blade
"Then this was given to me" Dash said
"What is that anyway" Knuckles asked
"When me and the resistance found out the Psycho fighters plans we tried to stop them by breaking into they're headquarters and stealing the Chaos emeralds…one of my BEST friends gave his life for possibly the ONLY shot we had at not only saving other dimensions but trying to find a way to defeat them" Dash said, Tifa then sat next to him
"I'm sorry for your friend" Tifa told him
"Thanks…anyway, they had me cornered and I thought I was all over until…wither it was fate or…something else, the Chaos emeralds reacted and gave me the sword along with this chest armor, the blade cut CLEAN through one of the Psycho fighters, cleaving his arm off, for the first time since I have been fighting them…one of them was hurt and bleeding but just as I was getting my sense of hope back, the Chaos emeralds reacted again and…well, sent me to this dimension, the emeralds followed" Dash explained as he sheathed his blade
"Wishing stones follow you" Ka-Zar asked
"Yeah, they're more than just rocks to summon a dragon…they…have minds of their own and can do these things, ever sense arriving here a year ago I've been trying to find out WHY the emeralds sent me here" Dash explained
"So, THAT'S how you know so much about Eggman and Chaos…your father experienced it…he lived it" Sonic said
"And has told me every single adventure he's ever had as a bedtime story ever since I was six but this is different, this Eggman is much more calculated, tenacious and…less monologuing than I've heard, still he's no less dangerous" Dash answered
"He monologued more in your dimension" Tails asked
"Oh, you have NO idea, dad said it got super annoying over the years, hearing how weak we are compared to him, now inevitable their defeat was, how the WORLD WILL SOON BE HIS, I mean there have been multiple times where Eggman had the Freedom fighters on the ropes and he WOULD NOT SHUT UP" Dash answered
"Sounds like an arrogant, cocky man" Sonic said
"According to my mom, YOU were almost as cocky when you were my age" Dash said
"WHAT" Sonic asked, getting laughs or chuckles from the others in the room
"But you aged out of it…marriage and parenthood would do that to anyone" Dash said
"So, these evil beings can no longer get…here" Ka-Zar asked
"For the moment, yeah" Dash answered
"That doesn't sound good" Tails said
"You can thank Psycho Tails for that, he's just as smart as the original AND Eggman combined if not SMARTER…his evil genius is ever reaching, he's created truly monstrous inventions, worse than anything that Eggman has ever created, it's only a matter of time before he finds a way to open the barriers between one reality and another" Dash explained
"Okay, this already sounds bad but, what about your world's Chaos emeralds where are they" Tifa asked
"Don't know, they scattered after they brought me to this world, I've been trying to find them but no luck so far, I don't know this world that much, I've only been here a year" Dash answered
"So as long as they're scattered, they're safe I mean you said that it would usually take a hundred years for all seven to be found, right" Amy asked
"Unless you bring them together then yeah" Dash answered
"What all this mean, father" Ka-Zar asked Mugin
"Dash has been through many tragic events that brought him to this world and without knowing it, he might have just spared this world from a fate worse than this Eggman" Mugin answered
"And I thought my past was hell" Knuckles muttered
"So…what now" Tifa asked
"For now, the Psycho fighters are trapped on my world, but until they get here, they're not the problem at hand" Dash answered as he and Tifa got to their feet
"As much as the crazy, power-hungry killers from another dimension thought scares the crap out of me…Dash is right, we need to deal with one problem at a time here, so Dash what can this final form of Chaos do" Sonic asked
"Well, at the peak of his power, Chaos becomes so powerful that he can literally drown the world beneath the waters…or destroy it, he absorbs the negative energy of the Chaos emeralds that he's consumed if he's left unchallenged then" Dash was about to say
"I think we get the picture in short we need to stop Chaos and we ain't gonna do it by standing around here" Knuckles said, suddenly the ground started to shake extremely violently
"WHO-O-O-O-O-A, WHAT'S GOING ON" Tifa asked, the room then started to collapse
"LET'S GET OUT OF HERE" Dash said as Gamma lowered his massive hand, Dash and Tifa climbed in it, Ka-Zar and Knuckled jumped on Gamma's back, Amy grabbed Sonic and Tails took to the skies followed by the others, they ascended out of the room only to hear what sounded like a MASSIVE roar from a beast
"I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that" Amy was about to ask Dash
"Yeah…it's Chaos" Dash answered
"Dash, what do we do now" Tails asked
"Yeah, can we even stop this thing now that he's at his peak" Sonic asked
"There's only one way now, I just hope that what I think might happen happens" Dash answered
"What's that" Tifa asked
"Let's get to Station square first…we've got work to do" Dash answered before the group flew off to try and save Station square from th terrifying Chaos creature
My friends that is the end of the 12th chapter and the next two chapters will be the last of this story
Time for the final showdown between Dash and Chaos
