Welcome back my friends to the 13th chapter and we are getting ever close to the finale of the story but without any further delay, time to
DO IT TO IT!
Chapter 13 A need, not a desire
(Station square)
The heroes Dash, Tifa, Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Ka-Zar, Mugin and Gamma soon arrived at Station square and it was NOT a pretty sight
"WHOA" Tails muttered, the place was completely flooded, people were scattered all over the place, trying to find higher ground away from the raging waves, large buildings were tilting to the side, threatening to come crashing down and at the center of it all was Chaos in his final, terrifying form
"Not to steal a saying from the teenage mutant ninja turtles but…HOLY CHALUPA, look at the SIZE of that thing" Sonic said
"That thing is even bigger in person" Knuckles said
"Big fish, I wonder what it tastes like" Ka-Zar added
"I wouldn't recommend eating this one, Ka-Zar" Mugin told the gorilla
"Yeah, it would give you one heck of a case of indigestion" Dash said
"Dash, what do we do" Tifa asked Dash as he stared at the colossal monster of chaos
"Dash" Tifa asked in confusion before Dash jumped out of Gamma's large hand
"DASH" Tifa yelled as Dash fell, he jumped from several broken and shattered pieces of the buildings under him to safely descend to the ground
"Just as my dad described you…big, terrifying and angry" Dash muttered before the heroes landed behind him
"Dash, what do we do, how can we stop this thing" Amy asked him
"Chaos is a being of pure chaos energy and I'm afraid that only one who used the same energy can fight him" Dash answered
"So that means we're completely useless against this thing" Sonic asked, Dash then noticed something in the air, it was the Egg carrier
"EGGMAN" Dash said as the group looked at the massive machine
(Inside the carrier)
"What do you mean Chaos isn't responding to my commands" Eggman asked his robot servant
"Sir, Chaos has grown too powerful to control, its energy levels are rapidly rising through the roof" The robot answered
"UGH, that STUPID BEAST…very well if it will not take orders from me, then it must be DESTROYED, FIRE" Eggman shouted
(Outside)
The hero team saw that the Egg carrier's massive cannon turned to face Chaos and it was charging to fire
"Is he gonna" Sonic was about to say
"TAKE COVER" Tails yelled as Gamma shielded the group with one of his wings, the cannon fired but when there was meant to be an explosion, nothing happened, the group looked to see Chaos morphed out of the way with little to no effort
"That thing just…STRETCHED out of the way" Knuckles said
"Yeah, like it's from the Looney Tune cartoon or something" Tails said, Chaos then charged up a powerful beam of energy in his mouth before firing at Eggman's carrier which hit like a small Megaton warhead, despite the Egg carrier having an energy shield around it, the beam broke right through it like nothing at all
"WHOA" The heroes shouted as simply the energy of the attack rocked the ground and disturbed the air, the carrier was going down, it crashed into the water
"Oh man…that thing just broke right through Eggman's shield like it wasn't even there" Tifa said, slightly frightened of the monsters terrifying power
"Dash, I ask again, HOW are you gonna fight this thing" Sonic asked
"I can answer that" A female voice called, the group looked towards the source of the voice, it was the small, floating ball of light that some of the members of the group have encountered
"That voice…I haven't heard that voice in years" Dash said before the ball of light changed shape into the form of the echidna girl that Tails and Knuckles have seen in the visions the ball of light have shown them
"IT'S YOU" Tails and Knuckles said at the same time
"You know her" Amy asked
"Who is she" Sonic asked
"Tikal" Dash said
"Yes, traveler from another dimension, I am called Tikal though I am not the one you are most familiar with" Tikal said
"But still, it's good to see her loving face again…oh how I used to love it when she would sing for me on my birthdays" Dash said
"I am afraid that I have not come here to sing, but I am here to help you" Tikal said
"You were listening to my story back in the Mystic ruins" Dash said
"Indeed, I was" Tikal answered
"You say you help us destroy this monster" Ka-Zar asked
"Yes, I can help you but not to destroy Chaos, he cannot be destroyed" Tikal said
"WHAT" The group, all but Dash yelled
"Then, how can we stop him" Tifa asked
"Not you…him" Tikal said, pointing to Dash
"Only he has the power to subdue Chaos and return him to the Master emerald" Tikal explained
"Return him to the Master emerald so he…came from it" Knuckles asked
"He's the protector of the Master emerald, the original protector of the emerald and he's angry isn't he" Dash asked Tikal
"Yes, he is angry, angry that his slumber was interrupted by the foolish actions of my father who wanted to use the Master emeralds power for war" Tikal answered
"So, it's true…what happened with my father it's happened before and it's happened to you and your people, that's what those visions you showed me meant wasn't it" Knuckles asked
"Yes, had you not intervened then Chaos would have been awakened and he would have drowned the world, you suffered so much pain after making such a choice yet despite that it was the right one" Tikal told him
"So, Tikal, how can Dash stop Chaos if we can't" Amy asked, Tikal then held out her hands and from them manifested the Chaos emeralds
"THE EMERALDS" Tails said, but something was wrong, they're weren't they're usual, glowing, colorful selves, they were dark grey
"What…what's happened to them" Sonic asked
"Chaos has absorbed the negative energy of the Chaos emeralds and uses them to fuel his power, Dash if you are to defeat Chaos and seal him back inside of the Master emerald then you must use the positive energy that still beats within them" Tikal explained
"And go super" Dash said
"Super" Amy asked
"The Chaos emeralds are used for all manner of things…and one of them is granting immense power to a person, Eggman used them to make Chaos stronger so now…it's my turn" Dash said
"What do we do" Tails asked
"First off, there are civilians scattered all over the place, while I deal with Chaos, all of you help them get to safety" Dash answered
"What about Eggman" Knuckles asked
"He's survived worse than that trust me, I would worry more about the innocents" Dash said as he took the Chaos emeralds from Tikal and placed them on the ground in a circle around him
(Goku Super Sayian theme plays)
"For those of you who haven't seen super before you MIGHT wanna back up it can get…intense" Dash said as he put his head down and closed his eyes, trying to tap into the good energy that was still inside of the Chaos emeralds, he couldn't help but think about what his father and mother told him when he was ten
(Flashback starts)
Dash is 7 years old as he was about to be tucked in for the night by his parents, Sonic and Amy
"Dad, what was it like" Young Dash asked his father, Sonic
"What was what like buddy" Sonic asked his son
"Going super for the first time, what did it feel like" Young Dash asked
"Why do you wanna know that honey" Dash's mother Amy asked
"Well all those times you and dad told me about it when you fought Eggman, what was it like" Young Dash asked
"Well…the first that was noticeable was a feeling that tingled in-between my shoulders, then an EXPLOSION of energy, why do you ask" Sonic asked
"But answer my question first honey, why do you want to go super" Amy asked
"I don't know…I just wanna try it" Young Dash answered
"Well, Dash do you want it because you desire it or because you need it" Sonic asked
"Isn't that the same thing" Young Dash asked
"No Dash it's not the same thing, going super isn't just wanting power, it depends on what you wanna use said power for" Amy explained
"If you just want it to feel powerful then it's wrong, but if you want it because you need it to either protect your family, your loved one's or something of equal importance…then THAT'S the key" Sonic explained
"So…the power comes from a need, not a desire" Young Dash asked
"Exactly" Sonic answered
"And all that power, how did it feel" Young Dash asked
"It was the third best feeling I had ever felt in my life" Sonic answered
"What was the first and second" Young Dash asked
"The second…marrying the love of my life" Sonic answered, earning him a smile from his wife
"And the other seeing your handsome face for the first time" Amy said before she kissed her son's forehead
"Goodnight sweetie, see you in the morning" Amy told her son
"Night buddy, sweet dreams" Sonic told his son before he and his wife left the room, leaving Dash in the dark all but a night light was shining, Dash was in thought about what his parents said
*Power comes form a need, not a desire* Young Dash said in his mind
(Flashback ends)
As Dash concentrated the Chaos emeralds levitated off the ground and things started getting weird
"Please, Chaos emeralds hear my plead…I don't want this power because I just desire to feel strong…I want this power because I NEED it" Dash said as the clouds above started to swirl around and turn dark then lightning and thunder was heard
"Uh, what's happening" Sonic asked
"Jarvis" Tails asked his A.I
"I…don't know sir…but my sensors are picking up a spike in power…and its increasing rapidly" Jarvis answered as the ground beneath Dash started to shake
"I beg you to lend me your power, my world was taken by those who abuse power and kill without reason or conscious, they took my world…MY HOME…MY FAMILY, EVERYONE THAT I'VE EVER LOVED AND CHERISHED" Dash begged the Chaos emeralds as if they were alive, the energy Jarvis was picking up only grew stronger and stronger as lightning and thunder grew louder
"I'm getting a sinking feeling in my stomach" Amy said
"This energy…I know it" Knuckles said
"The energy you are feeling is the same as the Master emerald, but this is a power that only the worthy of goals can achieve" Tikal told him, suddenly Dash's fur color started flashing a golden yellow color, it would appear out of nowhere and then disappear as cracks in the surface of the floor Dash was standing on started to break apart and the pieces of the broken surface started levitating
"I thought I had nothing left to lose, all taken by the Psycho fighters, but I was wrong…I have a new home now, new friends and new family…I BEG YOU…please lend me your POWER and help me protect my new home, my new friends and my new family from those who seek to TAKE IT…don't LET…WHAT HAPPEN TO MY WORLD…HAPPEN TO THIS ONE" Dash grunted, feeling the surge in power flowing through his body, the golden color started flashing more frequently as lighting was spawned from the Chaos emeralds, they regained their original coloring before the ground under Dash suddenly formed a small crater around him
"Energy readings are dangerously high, suggest stepping back" Jarvis said
"Here it COMES" Tifa said
"RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" Dash roared to the heavens before a vicious burst of golden energy erupted from his body which shot up into the sky as a GIGANTIC, golden beam that split the clouds in the sky above him, his friends backed up as the energy started to settle, the bright light that admitted from Dash blinded the heroes before it settled down and things got back to normal
"By the ancestors" Knuckles muttered
"Jarvis…what happened" Tails asked
"I haven't the slightest clue sir" Jarvis answered
"Such POWER" Ka-Zar said
"Truly an incredible sight to behold" Mugin added
"I thought I had seen it all" Amy said
"This is some SERIOUS anime type stuff right here" Sonic added
"He's…shinning" Tifa said as Dash's figure came into view his dark purple fur turned a bright, golden yellow color and when he opened his eyes, they were red as roses, this golden aura was radiating off him, pouring out of his body like it was a stream, Dash then looked at his hands and could feel the power surging through his entire body, in every cell even through his very soul
"He IS worthy" Tikal said
"INCREDIBLE…so this is what super mode is like, the power, the rush of energy…it's amazing" Dash muttered
"Dash, is that REALLY you" Sonic asked
"Yeah, pretty snazzy, huh" Dash asked
"It's a GOOD look" Amy said
"Thanks" Dash answered as he drew his Chaos blade who like Dash had changed color from its green-colored blade to a golden, yellow color, Knuckles then remember what that mysterious, female voice told him
*The one with the power to make what was wronged right once more is the one with the will to make his desires reality* Those words echoed in Knuckles head like a clear bell
*Incredible* Knuckles said in his mind
"So, this is super" Sonic asked
"Yeah, pretty fancy, huh" Dash asked
"VERY fancy" Sonic answered, Dash then started to levitate off the ground he was standing on, about to charge into battle against Chaos
(Music ends)
"Dash…please be careful out there" Tifa told Dash
"I promise, just save the civilians and leave Chaos to me" Dash said before he flew off to fight
"You heard the man, let's get to work" Tifa told the other heroes who scattered to go and help the civilians
"Good luck hedgehog" Tikal muttered before she vanished from sight, Dash flew into action where he came face to face with Perfect Chaos
("Live and learn" plays)
"Just as big and as monstrous as my dad told he was in a bedtime story…CHAOS, HEAR ME…I know you are angry and in turmoil about what has happened in the past but you HAVE to calm down" Dash tried to reason with him at first before Chaos tried to swipe him away with a tentacle attack but Dash sliced through it with his blade, causing the monster to screech in pain, while Sonic and Amy were helping people they heard the screech
"What was THAT" Sonic asked
"It's Chaos, he's HURT" Amy answered
"ALRIGHT" Sonic yelled meanwhile Dash was dodging more tentacle attacks from Chaos as it started to chase him through the flooded city Chaos started launching energy blast attacks to which Dash either dodged or sliced them in half before he counterattacked
"CHAOS SPEAR" Dash yelled before he threw several energy bolts at Chaos and saw his opening, he then tucked into a ball and charged before entering Chaos and headed for his brain to which Dash attacked again
*CHAOS IMPACT* Dash yelled in his mind as his left fist charged with Chaos energy and attacked, causing the creature to roar in pain before it separated into pieces and moved to another location in the flooded city
"THAT A BOY DASH, GIVE HIM HELL" Tails yelled as he and Ka-Zar were helping people out of the water, meanwhile Chaos reformed itself before it charged up a blast before firing at Dash, but he used his sword to deflect the attack, sending it into the ocean where it detonated safely without hurting anyone
"Man, super mode's even more powerful than I could have imagined" Dash said before he dodged more energy bolt attacks from Chaos before several tentacles came out of the water and wrapped around Dash, trying to restrict him, Chaos then charged up a blast from its mouth, trying to end this
"DASH NO" Tifa yelled
"CHAOS BLAST" Dash yelled as he triggered a massive blast of energy from his body that clashed with Chaos's beam attack and overpowered it to damage Chaos
"Huh, thank goodness" Tifa muttered in relief as Dash then flew up at blazing speeds under Chaos's chin and uppercut him so hard a shockwave was triggered and send Chaos falling backwards and topple over a building but Knuckles and a couple of dozen civilians were inside it
"Whoa, WHOA, EVERYBODY HOLD ON" Knuckles yelled as the people screamed, bracing for impact, Chaos scattered into the water again as Dash flew under the building and held it up with his sheer strength alone
"Dash" Knuckles said in shock at Dash's new strength
"KNUCKLES…GET EVERYONE OUT FAST" Dash yelled
"RIGHT, come on everyone, come on, MOVE IT" Knuckles told the people as Dash held up the building
"THAT'S THE LAST OF EM" Knuckles yelled as Chaos suddenly reformed and was about to attack Knuckles and the civilians
"NO, YOU…DON'T" Dash yelled as he just straight up THREW the large building at Chaos and it crashed into the monster with incredible force
"Who IS that guy" One of the civilians asked Knuckles
"Dash the hedgehog…impressive, isn't he" Knuckles asked
"HELL YEAH" Another citizen answered before Knuckles got them to safety, meanwhile Dash and Chaos were fighting at it took and nail, the battle was vicious with neither of the two backing down, both lashed at each other with one blow after another with incredible power, Chaos then roared before he slapped the ground with one of its huge tentacles sending a vicious shockwave towards Dash
"CHAOS…CONTROL" Dash yelled as he slowed time around him so he could dodge the attack before moving like a bolt of lightning striking Chaos's head over and over faster than either Amy or Sonic's eyes can follow, Dash's speed was so great that he appeared as nothing more than a flickering, mirage image, vanishing and disappearing
"WHOA" Amy said
"I've NEVER gone that fast before" Sonic said in amazement before Dash continued to dodge tentacle attacks but then he caught the attacking tentacle
"Time for to get OFF" Dash started before he used all his strength to yank Chaos off the ground with his sheer strength and slammed him hard on the ground
"YOUR HIGH HORSE" Dash yelled as the ground shook violently from the impact
"STOP THIS NOW CHAOS, THERE'S ALREADY BEEN ENOUGH DESTRUCTION" Dash tried again to reason with Chaos who was about to be cornered but it wasn't going down without a fight and Dash got his response in the form of a vicious roar that shook the city
"I thought dad was exaggerating when he said that Chaos was a stubborn one but now I see exactly what he's talking about" Dash said, so Chaos tried one, last attack its strongest, full powered, energy beam attack which was so strong lightning was being generated from the mouth of Chaos
"Sir, Chaos is generating a massive amount of energy in this attack if it hits the earth it's potential energy output can possibly destroy the entire city" Jarvis told Tails
"Don't worry, Dash has this…I hope" Tails muttered the last two words before Dash faced Chaos and his final attack
"I know your angry Chaos…but in your rage you endanger innocent lives and I cannot allow that" Dash said before he sheathed his sword and held out both his arms before holding them close to one another
"I haven't really practiced this technique but I guess now's a good a time as ever, if you won't listen to reason Chaos then I best be speaking in a language that you UNDERSTAND" Dash said as he started charging golden energy in-between his hands, the energy charging soon grew and grew and grew with such intensity that Dash started generating lighting in-between his hands, meanwhile the hero group was keeping the several civilians they could get to out of harm's way and at high grounds
"What's Dash doing" Sonic asked Tails
"Whatever he's doing it radiating a MASSIVE amount of energy similar to Chaos's attack" Tails answered
"I'm probably gonna regret asking this but…what's gonna happen when those two attacks collide with each other" Knuckles asked
"Well…I say it would probably be like an atom bomb going off…probably" Tails answered
"PROBABLY" Amy, Tifa and Ka-Zar asked at once
"It's just a guess" Tails said
"What we have here are two POWERFUL forces about to collide in a spectacular fashion…and SOMEBODY BETTER DUCK" Sonic said
"Ditto, EVERYONE GET BEHIND GAMMA, Gamma you think you can protect us" Tifa asked Gamma, he screeched in agreement
"I can even put up an energy shield to help him" Tails said
"Do it" Tifa said as the group got behind some cover and Gamma made sure that they were shielded while Tails generated a wide and tall, energy barrier to add to the shielding, Chaos then let lose its powerful beam blast
"CHAOS…FLA-A-A-A-A-A-A-SH" Dash yelled as he released a massive beam of golden energy which collided with Chaos's energy beam, they struggled with each other as the entire city and dare some would say the whole country, it was such incredible power as the beams struggled to one up each other
*COME ON…COME ON* Dash said in his mind as he struggled to push Chaos's beam back, after a few minutes of struggling, Dash's beam started pushing back Chaos's beam
"THAT'S IT, COME ON…JUST A…LITTLE MORE" Dash grunted as the beam was pushing back Chaos's beam as the raw energy that radiated from the two colliding attacks was hitting against Tails's and Gamma's defenses
"HOW ARE WE LOOKING, BUDDY" Sonic asked
"SHIELD IS HOLDING BUT…MAN THIS IS SOME SERIOUS POWER" Tails shouted, trying to keep the shield up
"WHATEVER DASH IS DOING HE'S GOTTA DO IT FAST" Tifa yelled, meanwhile Dash gave one last shove to his attack
"THIS ENDS NOW" Dash yelled as he gave that final push and blasted Chaos's beam attack aside, the Chaos flash attack connected and splattered Chaos into several pieces with an ear-splitting screech, the massive monster was seemingly vaporized into nothing, once the shaking had stopped and the massive flood seemingly dissipated, the hero group dropped their defenses to look at who had won the battle, floating in the air was Dash
"Did…did he do it" Sonic asked
"He…he DID IT" Amy said
"HELL YEAH" Knuckles yelled
"ALRIGHT" Tails yelled as well
"VICTORY IS OURS" Ka-Zar yelled
"DASH, DASH, DASH, DASH" Tifa cheered, soon the survivors and the other heroes started cheering as well, Dash heard his name being called as he looked up to see his friends and the civilians were safe, making him smile
"Thank goodness they're safe" Dash muttered
(All music stops)
Dash then looked down and saw what looked like the remains of Chaos, now back in his base form, Dash then descended to the creature and after touching the ground his super form disappeared, reverting him to normal
"UGH" Dash grunted as he slightly fell to the ground before slowly coming to his senses
"Whoa…what a rush" Dash said before walking over to Chaos who was slowly coming around
"You okay, Chaos" Dash asked as he held his hand out to Chaos, the creature hesitated
"I won't hurt you Chaos" Dash told him before Chaos slowly took Dash's hand and he helped the creature to its feet
"It's okay now, Chaos no one wants to fight you anymore, there's NO enemy to fight" Dash told Chaos, suddenly a bunch of Chao's surrounded the two, seemingly out of nowhere, suddenly Tikal appeared from the floating ball of light that was seen earlier
"He is…calm, the energy you radiated has tempered his wrath" Tikal said, Dash then walked up to Chaos, he was at least three feet taller than Dash, he matched the description his father gave him when he first heard about the watery monster years ago perfectly in every detail
"I understand anger Chaos, I felt the same thing you did, rage, wrath, vengeance…hate, I felt that every day ever since I was eleven years old…but now, I'm tempered with these amazing friends I have made, you were enraged because of what happened so many years ago, weren't you" Dash asked Chaos who nodded slowly
"But that happened was so long ago, Chaos and those who have done such a terrible thing have long been gone from this world, isn't it wrong to punish a world that doesn't even remember the bad thing it has done" Dash asked, Chaos listened to Dash's reasoning
"These are innocent people who just want to be left in peace, you were being used by a power-hungry, madman…you only want to protect the Chao's that you knew in your past but when you destroy what or who could possibly hurt them…then that's not protecting them" Dash told Chaos
"He speaks with wisdom beyond his years Chaos, the Chao's that you were protect, they stayed alive for generations and now live in peace with humans" Tikal told Chaos as the Chao's cheered for the return of their old friend
"Chaos, the fight is over…we meet as foes but now we leave in peace, you can go home now and rest" Dash told Chaos, he could tell from the look in Chaos's eyes that he very much wanted that, Tikal then walked up to Chaos and hugged his torso
"Thank you Dash for what you have done" Tikal told Dash
"It was my pleasure" Dash replied, Chaos then made noise's that kind of sounded like he was talking to Dash
"He thanks you for freeing him from his wrath, he was not in his right mind" Tikal translated for Chaos
"Anytime either of you need help, just let me know" Dash said
"Come Chaos, let us return to the Master emerald and rest…we will meet again Dash the hedgehog" Tikal told Dash before she and Chaos disappeared
"Of that I have no doubt" Dash muttered only for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Ka-Zar, Mugin, Amy, Gamma and Tifa showed up just in time to see Chaos and Tikal leaving
"Was that" Sonic was about to ask
"Chaos, he's okay now, he was just…angry" Dash said
"Angry, well that was the BIGGEST temper tantrum I've ever seen" Tails said
"Where's he going, is he gone for good this time" Amy asked Dash
"I got a sinking feeling that we'll be seeing Chaos again someday but for now, he's going…home" Dash answered
"So, we WON" Tifa asked, Dash then looked up and he and the others saw the outline of what looked like Eggman's throne with the fat doctor seating in it
"This is NOT OVER" Eggman grunted before he teleported away
"For now, we've won but Eggman will be back sooner or later, we just gotta be ready for when he does" Dash said
BOOM BABY THAT IS THE END OF THE 13th CHAPTER BABY
