Hey guys! Wow I am really wowing myself with the number of chapters I have in progress right now, not gonna lie to you. I can't believe this story got so many views literally overnight, 1000+ that is crazy guys. I've recently gotten back into Percy Jackson and that's where the motivation for these headcanons/OTPs has come from I guess.
Wow I ship such different people to who I used to ship, ngl. Anyway, with Corona virus basically decimating the Earth, I figured, why not leave a legacy behind of amazing fanfiction? ;) Anyway, this request was long overdue, like last May overdue, but I figured why not, so here you go merendinoemiliano, some Nico x Reyna. (Tbh, don't really couple ship this so I am gonna do a twin au instead lol sorry ;) )
Partners in Crime- Reynico Twin AU
Part #1
Reyna was the first twin to be born to Maria DiAngelo, and her brother Nico was born a whole 5 minutes later, underweight and wide-eyed, a little tuft of black hair already disheveled, and barely rivaling his sister Reyna's full head of dark, floppy locks and already bossy demeanor with her demanding to be fed first whenever it came to it.
For the rest of their lives, Reyna would remind Nico of those 5 minutes, claiming she was the oldest and always would be and as his big sister she had a duty to protect him and make him feel better when he's sad.
True to her word, whenever she mentioned this, he would slug her in the arm every time muttering about annoying twins who need to keep their noses out of his business, with a small smile on his face that was barely recognizable on his usually gaunt features.
When they were born, they already had two older sisters, Bianca, the second oldest, and Hylla, the oldest and the victim of most of Reyna and Nico's unfortunate pranks. Let's see, bird poop toothpaste? Check. Prank messages from 'boys'? Check. Stealing everything of hers under the sun and then smiling their innocent, cute smiles and blame everything on Bianca? Check, check, and check.
They stuck together, even when that lawyer came for them, telling them that their parents were dead. They didn't know what he meant, Hylla just told them that their parents would be going away for a while. They were only nine years old. What else were they supposed to think? Who else were they supposed to believe?
They heard their sisters, Hylla and Bianca crying in the night, calling out for their parents while Nico and Reyna pulled the covers of their starch-white boarding school sheets over their heads and whispered together deep into the night (well, until about ten p.m.) wondering where their parents were and when they were coming back.
They stuck together, when the lawyer came back and told them that they no longer needed to stay at the boarding house- for which Reyna and Nico were glad; the nuns were harsh, hard with the rulers on their small hands and didn't let them play warriors with little white sticks they could move with their minds (because they're superheroes, except no one can know except for them because it's their super-special secret that not even their older sisters know).
When they got moved to the hotel, they only stayed for about a month, but they had the time of their lives. All day, every day they got real props to play proper warriors with; armor and shields and swords and this cool flamethrower thingy that scorched off Reyna's eyebrows once (Hylla took that away from them, much to their combined disappointment).
It was also during this time Nico and Reyna both got hardcore into Mythomagic collecting and trading cards as well, with countless matches played with narrowed eyes and meticulous thought processes (and even though they couldn't have known this at the time, this was their battle strategy instincts kicking in already)
By this time, Reyna and Nico were still inseparable, and they did everything together. Hylla became, at 13 years old, the leader and carer of the family, and always made sure that the twins got to bed on time and that they ate their vegetables, and made sure to brush Bianca's hair after she washed it, so it didn't get knotty and pull, causing her to cry.
They had fun, sure, but Hylla also made them do lessons on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, because and I quote, "Do you want to be brain-dead zombies?!"
Nico enjoyed history a lot, which Hylla taught them with her old textbooks from the boarding school, whereas Reyna preferred psychology, which they got one of the professors at the hotel, who looked like a mad scientist from a different era, but they never really questioned it; it was Las Vegas after all.
When the lawyer came back for them, they didn't particularly want to leave what they had come to consider home, and their enjoyable schedule, filled with play and interesting things to do, but as soon as he arrived, they were whisked away and soon, in a black SUV they reached their (hopefully) final destination- Westover Hall, a military school that Reyna immediately took a liking to while Nico, on the other hand, was slightly unimpressed by.
It was here, for the first time in their lives, that the now ten year old siblings were separated from each other for most of the time- they had different form rooms, were in different dorms (for obvious reasons, Bianca had said with a snigger which Nico hadn't understood in the slightest- girls were gross!) and only really saw each other at breaks or at lunch, where they ate together.
Neither of them really had any friends; Reyna was too intense for most people, and Nico was basically just known as 'the weird kid who never speaks'.
Bianca and Hylla however got on with the other girls like a house on fire for the most part, other than the fact Hylla was a bit controlling at times, making the twins feel even more like outcasts, and the two got deeper into their gameplay of Mythomagic, now between them owning almost every single statue in the game-the only one having eluded their grasp being Hades, Lord of the Dead.
Most of their teachers were horrible and obsessed with the military history of the school, but one in particular really put their teeth on edge: Dr. Thorn. Neither of them could exactly pinpoint what created that feeling of uneasiness, but they did know they didn't trust him.
Little did they know what he was really capable of...
Hello! Well, this is most definitely not finished, but I'm getting tired so... This will probably a three/four parter depending on demand for more chapters (hear that? This mini fic is depending on your support! If I get enough...motivation...I might consider making this fic it's own and doing a whole thing + some non-canon quests/stories if you guys really want that...? I won't know if you don't review, follow and favourite please!
Also, will always be accepting requests so, tell me yours and I will write it!
Cool, cool
-Zoe ;)
