When I opened my eyes I saw that the Tardis was exploding all around me. The Tardis spun around as I grabbed onto the console.
"Ha, ha", I heard someone laugh and when I looked up I noticed it was the Doctor from my graduation.
"Doctor, what's happening", I asked him.
"We're crashing", he told me excitedly as the Tardis spun on its side as the doors swung open, which caused the Doctor and I to slide down the floor and grab onto the doorframe of the exit.
We we're flying through the sky as everything inside of the Tardis was on fire. Then I heard a loud bong.
"What was that", I yelled, "Big Ben! Pull the lever! Pull us up", the Doctor ordered back.
I did as he said as he hung onto the exit and then I heard him yell as we had just passed over Big Ben.
"Are you alright", I called as I ran to help him in.
"Yes, yes", he said, then closed the doors behind him, and then laughed. "It's good to see you", he told me.
"You too", I said with a smile and then the Tardis spun around again.
We slid down the halls, holding each other as we fell into the Doctor and I managed to climb ourselves out, only then did we realize we were in the library and used the bookshelves to climb up the floor. Which sounds weird when phrased that way.
"Before we can get out of here we need a grappling hook and a snap of my fingers", the Doctor told me.
"How is snapping your fingers going to help", I asked him and he simply replied with, "You'll see."
We managed to get our hands on a grappling hook in a nearby storage closet, which was convenient since all the rooms were mixed up.
Then the Doctor snapped his fingers and the doors to the Tardis shot open, my eyes widened in amazement.
We held onto each other as I pointed the grappling hook up and shot it. Once it was hooked and secured, I pressed another button and this pulled us to the top rather quickly.
Grabbing hold of the doorframe to the exit of the Tardis, then the Doctor helped me up. I was surprised to find a girl looking directly at me in confusion as the Doctor peeked his head up.
"Can I have an apple? All I can think about is apples. I love apples. Maybe I'm having a craving. That's new...never had a craving before", the Doctor said as I helped pull him on to the doorframe.
"You've never had a craving", I asked him skeptically, "Nope", he simply told me, "Not even one", I asked with a lifted brow.
Then he looked down into the Tardis, "Whoa look at that", he exclaimed, I went to look down as well before he lifted my chin up.
I narrowed my eyes in confusion as he put his hand down and said, "You told me to remind you, consider yourself reminded."
"Um, are you okay", the girl asked awkwardly, "Yeah we're fine", I assured her.
"Just had a fall, all the way down there, right to the library", the Doctor said as he looked down into the Tardis again, "Hell of a climb back up."
"You're both soaking wet", she told us, "WE were in the swimming pool", the Doctor retorted.
"You said you in the library", the girl retorted back, "So was the swimming pool", he told her.
"So was the storage closet that was in the floor", I added and she narrowed her brows in confusion at me.
"Are you policemen", she asked us, "Why", I asked her, "Did you call a policeman", the Doctor added.
"Did you come about the crack in my wall", the girl asked us.
"What crack- ah", the Doctor said then he cried out in pain as he fell onto the ground.
"Doctor", I yelled concerned as I jumped off the doorframe to check to see if he was alright.
"Are you alright, mister", the girl asked him, "Yes it's alright. This is perfectly norm-", the Doctor said before grabbing his gut as a stream of golden light flowed out of his mouth and went up into the sky.
"That's normal", I asked him, "Yeah", he told me.
"Who are you", the girl asked us as the Doctor's hands started to glow.
"I don't know yet. I'm still cooking", he told her and I lifted a brow at him, "Does it scare you?"
"No, it just looks weird", she told him, gesturing to his hands.
"No, no, no the crack in your wall. Does it scare you", the Doctor asked her.
"Yes", she replied, "Well then", the Doctor said before grabbing my hand as he jumped up pulling me up with him. I almost fell back before grabbing his shoulder to keep steady on my feet.
"There's no time to lose. I'm the Doctor and she's the Voyager. Do everything that we tell you, don't ask stupid questions, and don't wander off", the Doctor told her.
While still holding my hand, he quickly turned around and smacked his head right onto the trunk of a tree. This caused him to fall back causing me to be dragged with him back to the ground.
I sighed as I sat up, "Are you alright", the girl and I asked him at the same time.
"Early days...steerings a bit off", he told us, "Uh-huh", I said as I narrowed my brows at him, then looked up at the girl and shrugged and she gave us confused looks.
Then I stood as I helped him up, "What are you wearing", the Doctor asked me, noticing my outfit for the first time as we walked into the girls house.
"Yeah...this wouldn't have been my first choice", I said as I looked down at my steampunk outfit.
We stood in the kitchen awkwardly as the girl grabbed an apple from her refrigerator.
"If you're a Doctor and a voyager, why does your box say police", she asked us, before handing the Doctor the apple.
As the Doctor took a bite out of it I said, "Well, that's-", then I was cut off as the Doctor spat it right out. "...a long story", I finished as I narrowed my eyes at the Doctor.
"That's disgusting. What's that", the Doctor asked her and I elbowed him in the ribs, "Ow", he complained, rubbing his ribs and giving me a look.
"It's an apple", the girl told him clearly amused.
"No apples…", the Doctor began to say before looking at me and I gave him a warning glare.
"Yogurt. I love yogurt. Yogurt's my favorite. Give me yogurt", the Doctor ordered, before I crossed my arms at him and narrowed my eyes.
He sighed, "Please", the girl smiled before running back to the refrigerator, grabbed a yogurt, and handed it to the Doctor.
The Doctor pulled off the seal, before trying to gulp it down all at once and then spat out. It grossed me out so I had to look away.
"I hate yogurt, it's just stuff with bits in it", the Doctor told her.
"Then why didn't you stir it", I asked him, "You said it was your favorite", the girl added.
"I'm hungry. New mouth, new rules. It's like eating after cleaning your teeth, everything tastes wro-agh", the Doctor said before his whole body convulsed and he grabbed his head.
I looked at him worried as the girl asked him, "What is it? What's wrong with you?"
"Are you sure you're alright", I asked him as I gently touched his shoulder.
"I'm fine", he assured me before he narrowed his brows at the girl, "Wrong with me? It's not my fault. Why can't you give me decent food? You're scottish! Fry something."
I narrowed my eyes at him again and when I tried to elbow him he shielded his ribs. He smiled smugly, before saying, "Please", to the girl. She went ahead and pulled bacon out of the freezer and fried it on the oven.
"Ah, bacon", the Doctor said happily after returning from getting a couple of towels and tossed one over my head.
"Hey", I exclaimed as I lifted the towel up to glare playfully at the Doctor. Then he grabbed a fork and a knife as the girl sat the plate full of bacon in front of him. Sitting at the table the Doctor cut into the bacon and took a bite as I grabbed one from his plate. He then immediately spat it back out and made a face.
"Bacon. That's bacon. Are you trying to poison me", the Doctor asked the girl seriously as I lifted a brow at him taking a bite of my own bacon.
She glanced between the two of us and I just shrugged at her. Then she went over to the cabinet, opened a can of beans, and cooked it in a pot on the oven.
"Ah you see...beans", the Doctor said leaning against the cabinet looking between the girl and I. The girl and I just looked at eachother with narrowed brows, before looking back at the pot of beans.
After she was done cooking, she sat the bowl of beans in front of the Doctor who happily ate a spoonful. At least he did before he ran over to the sink and spat it out.
"Beans are evil! Bad, bad beans", the Doctor told us seriously with raised eyebrows and the girl sighed before she spread some butter on some bread then gave it to the Doctor.
"Bread and butter...now were talking", the Doctor said before taking a bite of it and then spat it back out. He then stood and stormed to the front door carrying the plate with him as I ran after him.
I quickly grabbed the plate before he could throw it outside like a frisbee, "Oh no you don't", I said grabbing the plate before he could throw it.
"That bread and butter it's...it's…", the Doctor trailed off as I looked at him with a raised brow.
"It's what", I asked him, "It's nothing. Just awful", he told me as he closed the door.
"Then I'll eat it", I told him and took a bite of it and the Doctor glanced back at me giving me a disgusted look as we made our way back to the kitchen.
"Don't give me that look! You're the one who almost threw this plate outside like a frisbee", I told him as I finished it and placed the plate back on the table.
The girl sighed and went back over to the refrigerator, "I have some carrots", she told him.
"Carrots?! Are you insane", the Doctor exclaimed, "Doctor", I hissed at him.
"No, right, sorry", the Doctor said as he went back over to the refrigerator, "I know what I need...I need...I need fish fingers and custard", the Doctor said as he pulled each item out.
Soon the fish fingers were cooked and placed onto the plate that he almost threw out. While the custard was poured into a big clear bowl, he sat happily as he dipped the fish finger in the custard and ate it.
The girl just ate vanilla ice cream as she and I looked at the Doctor with disgusted looks as he lifted the entire bowl to drink the custard. When he lowered it he just sat there with a custard mustache and I couldn't help but chuckle in amusement at that. However when I looked over to the girl she looked far from being amused.
"Funny", she said sounding annoyed, I raised my brows at that and sat down. "Am I? Good. Funny's good. What's your name", the Doctor asked the girl.
"Amelia Pond", Amelia told him.
"Amelia Pond, like a name from a fairytale", the Doctor told her, "Well, it's a nice name", I added.
"Thanks", she told me.
"So Amelia Pond, are we in Scotland", the Doctor asked Amelia.
"No. We had to move to England. It's rubbish", she told us.
"So what about your mom and dad", the Doctor asked, "Are they upstairs", I added. "Thought we'd have woken them by now", the Doctor stated.
"I don't have a mom or dad. Just an aunt", Amelia told us.
I looked at her sadly, before the Doctor said, "I don't even have an aunt", the Doctor told her and I looked back at the Doctor.
"You're lucky", she told him and I chuckled sadly at that, but quickly sombered up.
"I know", the Doctor said, but I noticed a hint of sadness in his eyes.
"So...your aunt, where is he", I asked Amelia in an effort to change the subject.
"She's out", she told me as the Doctor dunked another fish finger in the custard and ate it.
"What", "She left you here alone", the Doctor and I asked her, "I'm not scared", she told us.
"Of course, you're not scared of anything! Box falls out of the sky, a man and a woman fall out of it, man eats fish custard while the woman…" the Doctor trailed off as he glanced over at me, "Listens, and look at you just sitting there. So you know what I think", the Doctor asked Amelia Pond.
"What", she asks confused, "Must be one hell of a scary crack in your wall", the Doctor told her and she just sat there with fear in her eyes.
After the Doctor was done eating we all went up to Amelia's bedroom to examine the crack in her wall, the Doctor went up and touched it.
"You've got some cowboys here", he stated as I walked up beside him to touch the crack as well.
I felt a feeling of dread like something didn't want us to mess with it, something was off as I narrowed my eyebrows.
Amelia gave the Doctor a funny look and when he noticed he said, "Not actual cowboys, though that can happen." When the Doctor glanced over at me it was my turn to give him a funny look and he shrugged, I simply shook my head.
Amelia examined the apple she was holding, "I used to hate apples, so my mom put faces on them", she told us as she walked up to the Doctor and gave it to him.
He gently grabbed it and turned it over to see a happy face on the other side, "She sounds good your mom", the Doctor said and tossed the apple up before catching it, then glanced over to show it to me. I nodded and smiled sadly thinking of my own mother.
"I'll keep it for later", he told her before pocketing the apple, then went back to examine the crack in the wall. I placed my hand back on the wall to see if I could sense anything else as the Doctor knocked on it twice to see if it was hollow.
"This wall is solid and the crack doesn't go all the way through it. What about you", the Doctor asked me.
I looked at him seriously, "Something doesn't want us messing with it and there's a weird draft", I told him
"That is strange. Where's the draft coming from", he wondered, then took his screwdriver out to use it on the crack to scan it, then read the readings on it.
"Wibbly- wobbly, timey- wimey", the Doctor said and I gave him a confused look, "You'll understand later", he simply told me.
Then the Doctor turned to look at Amelia, "You know what a crack is", he asked her, "What", both Amelia and I asked him.
The Doctor glanced between us both before answering, "It's a crack", he told us and I narrowed my brows at him, "Well, yes, we can see that", I told him.
"Stay with me", the Doctor told me as he went back over to the wall, "I'll tell you something funny. If you knock this wall down, the crack would stay put, because the crack isn't in the wall", he told us.
"Where is it the", Amelia asked him as my breathing quickened as did my heartbeats as I glanced back at the wall.
"Everywhere. In everything. It's a split in the skin of the world. Two parts of space and time that should never have touched pressed together…", the Doctor trailed off to glance at me and then Amelia. I gulped as that sounded eerily familiar somehow.
"Right here in the wall of your bedroom", the Doctor told her as he pressed his ear against the wall, "Sometimes, can you hear-", "A voice? Yes", Amelia told the Doctor, finishing his sentence. Gently pressing my ear against the wall I could hear something as well, but it was faint.
"How do you sleep", I wondered, "I don't", Amelia answered.
The Doctor suddenly moved away from the wall to grab a glass cup off of Amelia's dresser and flung the water out of it.
"Doctor", I exclaimed, "What", he questioned as he came back over to the wall, placing the glass against the ear, and then placing it against the crack on the wall.
He listened and then spoke, "Prisoner Zero", he questioned.
"Prisoner Zero has escaped", Amelia told the Doctor, "That's what I heard. What does it mean?"
"It means that on the other side of this wall there's a prison", the Doctor told her.
"Why would there be a prison on the other side wall in Amelia's bedroom", I asked him.
"I don't know, but I do know they've lost a prisoner. Do you know what that means", the Doctor asked us as realization dawned on my face.
"What", Amelia asked the Doctor as he nodded at me, "You need a better wall", the Doctor told her as he tried to keep her calm, then moved the dresser away from the wall.
"The only way to close the breach is to open it all the way. The forces will invert and it'll snap itself shut. Or…", the Doctor trailed off.
"What", Amelia asked him and the Doctor paused, "Or what Doctor", I tried asking him and he quickly glanced at me as I had my arm wrapped around Amelia protectively.
The Doctor then looked at Amelia, "You know when grown-ups tell you everything's going to be fine and you think they're lying probably to make you feel better", he asked her.
"Yes", Amelia sighed.
"Everything's going to fine", he told her as he reached out to hold her hand and I did the same. Amelia looked at the two of us unsure as the Doctor raised his arm that was holding the screwdriver and pointed it at the wall.
Then he pressed the button, the crack began to glow, then it grew brighter, before finally snapping open to reveal what was inside. Inside was dark and it smelled musty, maybe moldy, I scrunched up my nose at the smell.
"Prisoner Zero has escaped", a voice bellowed from within, "Hello", the Doctor called out as he leaned forward towards it. "Hello", I called out as well, before sudden;y a giant eye appeared at the gap in the wall and it stared right at us.
"What's that", Amleia asked, before a light shot out and we were quick to dodge it as the crack closed back up and sealed itself.
The Doctor then sat sighed and sat down in a chair, "There you see, told you it would close. Good as new", he told Amelia.
"What was that? Was that Prisoner Zero", Amelia asked us.
"No. It must have been Prisoner Zero's guard", I told her, "Whatever it was, it sent me a message. Psychic paper", the Doctor said as he pulled his psychic paper out of his pocket to show us.
"Takes a lovely little message", the Doctor said as he opened it to read the contents, ""Prisoner Zero had escaped." But why tell us", he wondered as he looked around in Amelia's room.
"Unless…" he trailed off, "No", I said as my eyes widened.
"What", Amelia questioned as her hand holding mine tightened nervously.
"Unless Prisoner Zero escaped through here, but he couldn't have. We'd know", the Doctor decided to tell her. "Unless he was…", the Doctor said, but trailed off, "Already here", I finished.
Then he ran out of the room, Amelia and I were quick to run after him in the stairwell as he looked around before looking between us.
"It's difficult. Brand new me, nothing works yet. But there's something I'm missing...in the corner…", the Doctor trailed off as he slowly turned his head to look at a door down the hall. I narrowed my eyes at it and noticed it was camouflaged by some energy shield.
"Of my eye", he finished, before something interrupted our thoughts and it was gone again, "Was that-", "No! No, no, no", the Doctor exclaimed as he quickly ran down the stairs as Amelia and I ran after him.
"No, no, no, no, no", the Doctor yelled as he pulled the door open to run outside as Amelia and I chased after him towards the Tardis.
"Acacia! We've got to get back in there! The engines are phasing, it's going to burn", the Doctor said as he grabbed some rope.
"But it's just a box! How can there be engines", Amelia questioned.
"It's not just a box. It's a time machine. Here hold this", the Doctor told her and then gave me some rope to hold onto as he went over to the end of it around a tree.
"What a real one? You've got a real time machine", Amelia asked him.
"Yes", I told her smiling, "Well, not for much longer if I can't get her stabilized. Five minute hop into the future should do it", he told her.
"Can I come", Amelia asked us.
"Not safe in here, not yet. Five minutes. Give us five minutes. Come on Acacia I need your help", he told me, "Right", I said as I stepped forward towards the Tardis with the rope still in my hands.
"People always say that", Amelia told us, sounding disappointed. Both the Doctor and I quickly looked at her, before walking up to Amelia.
"Are we people? Do we even look like people? Trust me. I'm the Doctor", the Doctor told her, before going back to the Tardis.
"Ac-Acac-" I smiled and shushed her gently, "Just call me Voyager", I told her.
"Voyager...promise me you'll come back", she said and my eyes widened at that. I had a bad feeling and I gulped guiltily.
I knelt down in front of her, "I promise we'll be right back", I told her and she smiled at me.
"I'll hold you to that", she told me as I stood and then went back over to the Tardis looking guilty.
"We're coming right back", he assured me and I nodded, "I know I just...have a bad feeling", I said the last part quietly.
He nodded at that, "Well, we better make sure we keep that promise", he told me, smiled, and then jumped in, "Geronimo", I heard him yell as he landed in the pool.
I climbed onto the entrance of the Tardis, gave Amelia a quick smile, and yelled as I jumped in. Then I heard the Tardis doors snap shut above me as I fell into the pool.
