The front door swung open as I ran out of my Uncle's home, music box in hand...now clutching it, and continued down the street. My breathing was frantic as I sprinted, he lived closer to downtown but still quite a ways away. As I was passing through downtown Hosu and saw All Might on a Huge screen. "Now it's your turn." He threatened. People were cheering, like a war had just ended. I just stared at the background…My apartment was in shambles. "Kyokia?" I heard a voice behind me. It was...Izuku? And Bakugo, but other people were there. I recognized them as Eijiro Kirishima, Momo Yaoyorozu, Iida and Shoto Todoroki, Izuku's classmates. Eijiro could harden his body, good for offence and defense. Momo could create just about anything if she knew how, Iida could run extremely fast and Shoto could freeze and burn people, it was rather impressive...but they were all dressed strangely...like a disguise? All except Bakugo at least. "So this is the Kyokia you keep talking about?" Eijiro asked Izuku. "Greetings Kyokia! A pleasu-'' Iida started to say something but paused. "Are you alright?" He asked, noticing my heavy breathing and the panicked sweat on my brow. "Izuku? Iida? Wh-what are..." I began to ask. "It's a long story. I...wait. That's your…" Izuku trailed off, looking at the screen. "Home." I acknowledged. "That's tough man…" Eijiro said somberly. "I-I have to go." I stated, sounding lost. "What!? No! Kyo it's too dangerous." Izuku protested almost immediately. "Izuku they're still there!" I yelled at him desperately. "Who?" Momo asked. "My family!" I shouted, not really directed at anyone. Only then did I realize we had attracted the attention of the crowd, since I heard a lot of gasps…I paused for a moment. "I-I'm sorry to say this but...They're likely…" Momo started carefully. "You don't know that!" I shot back. "Man, I know this is hard...but you need to calm down." Eijiro advised me, I barely knew the guy and he was making more sense than me, I knew that. But I didn't care. "I need to go." I repeated myself. "Kyo no!" Izuku grabbed me by the arm. "I can't let you go there! It's far too dange-". ''Let go of me!" I demanded. I wasn't thinking straight, I couldn't. "Kirishima!" Help me hold him down!" Izuku ordered. He started walking towards me. "Dude, you need some time to calm down." He said, They were trying to keep me from my family! After all Izuku and I had been through! He-he...was right. I had noticed Bakugo wasn't saying anything. Not a taunt, not one smug remark. Nothing. So he did have some respect for panic. But none of that mattered, I needed to get to them. "No!" I yelled in defiance as I projected a burst of telekinetic energy around me. It wasn't meant to hurt so it just pushed Izuku and Eijiro back a bit, along with a few of the crowd. "I'm sorry..." I said. I now had no choice, they'd catch me again if I went on foot. I lifted myself into the air and started flying to what was left of my apartment. "Kyo wait!" Izuku shouted at me. I just kept going. I wasn't even getting tired, adrenaline maybe? It didn't really matter now.
"Kyokia!" A voice called to me. Iida was running after me, many people moved out of his way so he could catch up and he ran past the others. "You need to sit down and listen to reason!" He said, I just kept going. "Kyokia! Li-" "Someone hurt my family! Would you stop!?" I interrupted him as I flew. He stopped dead in his tracks, I kept flying. As I was Iida eventually caught up again. "I didn't." He informed me. I looked at him with a surprised look. "And I almost died." I slowed for a second, but eventually started to go faster. "You should check on the others." I suggested. "I will, as soon as you come with me." Iida informed. I was almost there, I could see the...destruction. "There's no turning back now." I mumbled. "Bring them here if you must." With that Iida shook his head and turned around, running the other direction. I let myself down and started running to my apartment. "Hey! Kid! You ca-" a police officer started, but I shot a telekinetic blast at my feet to jump over and landed on the other side of him. I kept running to my apartment. The building was in shambles. I looked, and looked, until I saw Mugiti crying over someone at the bottom of the rubble. It was outside of what used to be the lobby. "...No…" I uttered hopelessly. I ran over to her. "Mugiti!" I yelled. Her head rose up, she was hurt. Very hurt. "Kyo!" She wailed. When I reached her I dropped to my knees. It was Mom, what was left of her. "No…" I said hopelessly. "She's gone Kyo!" Mugiti wailed. "She's dead! She… took the impact!". I kneeled there, eyes wide with tears. I couldn't believe it. "There he-" I heard a voice yell, then cut short. It was the police officer. "Oh." He said." Three more officers came. "Mugiti, can you walk?" I asked frantically . "No. My legs are broken, I got impaled...Mom saved me but…" She stopped talking because of the pain. "Kyo...I think I'm dying." She told me. There was blood all over her, and she was in fact impaled. "No! No, you're going to be fine!" I encouraged her, completely ignoring all the signs she wasn't going to be. "Son." One of the officers said. "We need you to go to the police line.". "I can't leave them!" I desperately yelled at him. "Sh- they will be fine with us." He informed me. "Your friends are waiting for you.". "Kyo...go." Mugiti pleaded. "W-what?" I asked as I looked back at her in confusion. "Y-you shouldn't...have to.." Mugiti started coughing. "See this.". I begrudgingly honored her request and left for the police line.
I made it to the line to see Izuku and the others. Izuku went for a hug, I was too shocked to resist. "I'm so sorry." I said tearfully. "We get it." Eijiro assured. "Next time don't be so damn hard headed." Bakugo chastised. But it was better than what he usually was, was this his own brand of sympathy? "Kyo...I'm so sorry." Izuku said tearfully. I wanted to crack a joke, I wanted to get my mind off it. But I couldn't. "Mom's...gone." I informed Izuku. "Mugiti's d-dying…". "You can't give up." Shoto told me. I didn't want to, but I knew what was going to happen...thanks to Uncle Kiyaka. An ambulance showed up and a few minutes later and Mugiti was taken away on a stretcher. "I need to be with her." I told Izuku. "I'll meet you at the hospital." He said, "Yeah we will too." Iida said. "...Thank you…" I somberly said. I went into the back of the ambulance. Mugiti stared at me with a slight smile. "It's gonna be ok." She mouthed. I became full of rage. I knew that there was no way that was true, I wondered why he didn't save her. "It's All Might's fault." I stated as I held her hand, looking angrily at the ground as tears fell to where I gazed. Mugiti's Eyes widened, she tried to say something but couldn't find the words. "If he had tried to move the fight somewhere else...maybe…but no. because of his carelessness so many have died." I continued. "I was so...wrong. About Heroes. All they care about is fame, they don't care about the people around them...even the number one". There was this look of despair on Mugiti's face. I was going to lose her. It was his fault, It was the League of villains fault, it was ...my fault. I wasn't there. All Might was the symbol of peace, the bringer of hope. Yet he brought nothing but hopelessness to me. We made it to the hospital and they brought her to emergency. I sat in the waiting room and around ten minutes later the others arrived. "I don't know what to do." I told Izuku as he sat next to me, clutching my music box. It was playing, It was reminding, It was hurting yet...helping. "I don't think anyone would." Izuku said. Izuku, Eijiro, Iida and Momo were in the room with me. "Bakugo wouldn't come in… maybe it's for the best." Eijiro informed me. "Shoto's talking to his father." Izuku added. I jumped up at the mention of a Hero, instantly angered. I didn't say anything and slowly slumped down in the chair, but still. The four of them gave me a concerned look, but didn't say anything about it. They tried comforting me, some of it was working...then Mugiti came out of emergency. Some nurses rolled her out to an elevator. "Your bill has been paid already." A doctor said. "By a Kiyaka Wagam.". "...I see." I replied. I thought about saying something, but decided against it. "I need to tell you, the damage done to her body is irreversible." The doctor said. "All we can really do is make her comfortable. I'm sorry.". I just looked down. Everyone was saying how sorry they were. It was considerate...but it wouldn't change anything. I had lost my father long ago, I had lost my mother just now. Was I really going to lose Mugiti too? The five of us went to Mugiti's hospital room. She was laying there in her bed, looking outside. "Mugiti!" I called as I ran to her and hugged her. "Kyo." She said weakly. We hugged for a while, before I let go. "Thank you so much, all of you." I said to Izuku, Eijiro, Iida and Momo. "But you don't have to be here, You don't have to see…" I trailed off. "We're here for you." Izuku said, gently but sternly in his decision. "Of course!" Iida agreed. Izuku and these strangers were all I would have soon. "Kyo, All of you." Mugiti said weakly, grabbing our attention. "Can I ask a favor?". I wondered why she would even need to ask that. "Course Sis." I responded, grabbing her hand again and showing eagerness to fulfill any request. She struggled to respond. "C-can I have a moment with...Izuku? Alone?" She requested, my encouraging smile wavered for a quick second…the ONE thing I didn't want to do was leave her alone…but we all left without question. After a few minutes Izuku called us back in. Mugiti looked at me and asked something. "Do you have your music box?" She asked me. "Um..yes. '' I replied, scrambling to get it out of my pocket. "Can you turn it on?" She pleaded. "Mine got destroyed, I'd like to hear it one last time.". "What was that about?" Eijiro asked Izuku. "I'll tell you later." Izuku responded, I started up the music box once I finally got a hold of it. "Kyo…" She started, now looking weakened...was she giving up? . "Yeah Mugiti?" I asked worriedly. "She said you'd be strong." Mugiti said. "Before she died." I was shocked, and could feel a tear forming. "I-I know you'll survive through this." She smiled, "I...know..you-" she succumbed to her injuries and closed her eyes, the heart monitor started to flatline. She was gone.
I just stared at the ground. Tears were forming. "Kyo…" Izuku whispered, tearing up. "She's gone." Eijiro confirmed. I got up, grabbed the music box and stuffed it into my jacket pocket. Though I could barely see through the tears I started walking out of the hospital room. "Kyo wait!" Izuku shouted. "I need air!" I yelled back at him. The four of them were following me. "What you need is to sit down!" Iida yelled to me. "You shouldn't be standing at a time like this!" He informed me. God damn it...Why? I couldn't think straight, I was barely able to stand due to my grief but my anger propelled me forward. It was his fault. They were both gone because of him! "How could he?" I muttered. "What?" Izuku asked as he walked. "He..they…" I continued. "They tried man…" Eijiro stated sympathetically. He thought I was talking about the doctor. "He should have moved it." I said tremblingly. "Oh no..." Momo said. She understood what I was thinking. As I continued down the staircase they talked to me, likely words of comfort but I wouldn't hear them. All Might. He took them away from me, him and that villain caused the destruction. He was the number one Hero! He should have known to move the fight away from the populace! I finally reached outside. As I left the hospital Izuku and the other four followed me out. "Did she make it?" Bakugo questioned while leaning on the hospital's entrance wall, I just fell to my knees and yelled in agony into the sky. He didn't say anything in response. "I'm sorry for your loss." Shoto informed me. He was standing at the other side of the doorway. "When did you get here?" Bakugo questioned a bit aggressively." Before Shoto had time to respond Izuku attempted to comfort me. "Kyo...I don't know what to say…" He said sympathetically. He may not have, but I did.
"Oh, I know what to say, I know exactly what to say!" I responded aggressively through tears "My mother, is dead! My sister, just died! All because of him, and the worst part? People cheered for him as they died! The great All Might!" I mocked. Now everyone was starting to look worried "Kyo…" Izuku started. "No!" I shouted and pointed a finger at him, then quickly retracted it "...No...This can't just go unpunished." Izuku now looked shocked and worried. Momo covered her mouth with her hands, Bakugo and Shoto's heads shot up, and Kirishima approached me slowly. "It wasn't his fault...he-" "He was careless!" I interrupted "Desperate almost! He didn't even try to move the fight anywhere else, now my family and countless others are dead!" I shot back at him, still on my knees. "I…..I wasn't there." I said in a deflated tone as my body deflated. "I failed them, he failed them. When they needed us most." I uttered, full of shame and hopelessness. "Man, you can't…" Eijiro started, but trailed off. Izuku then cut in a few seconds later, "Kyo, I get why you're upset, but threatening to-". "Threaten? You think this is a threat?" I slowly turned to look at him. I started to stand up and as I did my anger rose with me. "That...was no threat." I informed him. They all looked at me, I could tell Izuku was getting increasingly worried and Bakugo was getting increasingly angry. "I was so...wrong...about everything!" I stated as I shook my head, looking at my hands with eyes wide. "Being a Hero is not what I thought it was. The only way this can be resolved…". "Kyo, I know what you're thinking!" Izuku shot at me. "I won't let you do that to yourself!" He shouted. They started to talk over each other. "Calm down!" Momo said. "This is a waste of time." Bakugo stated, now pissed. "listen to yourself! Does that sound like anything a Hero would say?". Iida added. "Y-you're siding with him?" I asked them all in disbelief as I raised my gaze to them, a clearly hurt expression plastered on my face. "Listen." Eijiro started, with his hands raised in a reassuring posture. "You really need to calm down man! Things are getting out of hand.". "I'm leaving." I informed them all, the hurt on my face turning to sternness. "Don't try to stop me." I now warned. "We can't let ya do that." Eijiro replied.
Izuku then started up "Kyo you need to stay with us...at least for a little-". "Will you stop me?" I asked them all. "Wha-" Izuku replied, taken aback. "If I try to leave...will you stop me?" I asked again. They looked at each other, except for Izuku who was looking at the ground and Bakugo who was now walking to the rest of them. "I won't let you do this to yourself." Izuku finally answered, still not looking at me. He was now standing in my way. He sided with All Might. I expected this, but it still hurt like hell. "Then it has come to this." I said. "Kyo..." Izuku pleaded, with tears in his eyes. "Don't hold back, you'll regret it." I warned them. "You. Ungrateful. Bastard!" Bakugo yelled at me. "After everything they just did!? I'm gonna enjoy beating the hell outta you!" He threatened as he pounded his fists together. "Kinda harsh Bakugo…" Kirishima stated. "You're just like him!" I angrily yelled in response. Iida and the others took a defensive position "If he attacks us Izuku, I will protect myself and our classmates." Iida told Izuku, who just looked at me. "Kyokia I won't fight you!". He declared. I smiled wearily in return. "Very well." I replied and turned away. "Kyokia! Wait!" Izuku yelled at me, but I ignored him as I walked away. "Don't you turn your back on me!" I looked back to see Bakugo perform an aerial charge, he used explosions to propel himself to me. I readied myself, Tapped my forehead and pointed to the ground and up. A wall of kinetic energy arose, it barely held against the barrage of explosions Bakugo unleashed on it. I then molded it into a ball and shot it at Bakugo, it sent him flying back. There was a lot of rubble from the explosions, this was good. "You're just like them." I repeated it to Bakugo. "Using the thin guise of justice to hurt as you please.'' The Heroes were distracted at the moment at the wreckage, and I had no choice but to fight my way out of this. I rose four pieces of the rubble along with myself into the air. "Fight me! Or flee!" I screamed in agony.
