Hey all! I have a small note I wanted to say before writing the next chapter. First, I wanted to say sorry for the many spelling errors. I had skimmed through what I wrote and thought I fixed everything but that obviously wasn't the case. Secondly, I forgot to mention where Addison would be rooming. She will be on the third floor, room 308. She is a few floors down from the boys to give everyone some semblance of privacy AND to give her slightly faster access to the basement for her monthly problems without having to run across one of the males. Third, I apologize for saying Yukio had green eyes when he and Rin very much have blue. I don't know why I thought the opposite while writing it. LASTLY, I forgot to mention that the bold words are going to be English speech. That's it!
The next morning I dressed in a black baggy Halestorm T-shirt that hung off one shoulder, a pair of shorts and some vans since it was a weekend and high school hadn't started yet while cram school wasn't until tomorrow. I was putting my hair up in a messy bun while walking down the hall of the boys dorm to help Kotah arrange his room when I heard the twins bickering about studying. I didn't bother asking what they were going to do for the day since I already knew they were going to head to Shiemi's home to buy supplies and fight a demon. Plus, at this point as dormmates we don't know each other very well so they don't have to tell me anything about their business, and besides I didn't really want to go meet Shiemi yet. I never liked her intro into the anime. She's the type of shy, introverted girl I hated in my old world. So all I did was wave as I walked past their door, "Ohayo."
I didn't bother knocking as I got to Kotah's door, opening the door I sat on the bed and watched as my best friend stood in the middle of the room picturing how he'd want it to look. "I think I want the bed by the window, the desk can be next to the door, the empty corner can be some kind of lounge with a futon couch and tv maybe?" he muttered to himself but loud enough for me to hear so I can have my input if needed. "I like that idea." I agreed, "Is that what you want?" Nodding his head he waved his hand shooing me off the bed so we could move it to the corner of the room with the headboard against the window. It didn't take long to arrange the bed and the desk around in the perfect positions and when we were done, Dakotah started browsing shopping apps on his phone for more furniture and decorations when I stopped him. "Ah! Not just yet there. You're gonna help me move my room around first, THEN we can sit around and go crazy ordering stuff together." I said as I dragged him out of his room and down the stair to the third floor where my room was located.
When we finished with my room, I had my bed in the corner of the room against the same wall as the window, my desk adjacent to said window for some nature lighting while I did any work, the desk sitting in between the window and my closet. And the space around the door and foot of my bed was empty for a lounging area I'll set up once I order the things I'd like to put there.
The rest of the afternoon we lounged around Kotah's room browsing the shopping apps looking for things we liked to decorate our rooms and giving each other's opinions of everything when we heard the door to the boys room closing signaling that they came back from their little adventure. Getting up from our positions on the bed and chair we headed down to the kitchen to eat dinner around the same time the boys came out to do the same. "I don't see why you didn't order everything on two-day shipping like I did. Why wait so long to decorate your room?" Kotah asked me while the boys listened to our conversation. "Because, everything I ordered will get here close to the weekend and I can set all up in one day without having to stop for school or exorcist training." I explained. "Plus, you ordered yours with two-day shipping so I can just louge around your space until all my stuff arrives."
"You guys bought things for your room already? With what money?" Rin asked curiously. "My parents will send me an allowance every month with a little extra to give to Lynn." He paused mid-conversation to pout at me, "They spoil you too much and you're not even their kid." I stuck my tongue out at him before he finished his train of thought with Rin. "And we have ways of getting extra cash if we need it."
While Rin continued to press Dakotah for information on how we get money, Dakotah kept deflecting the conversation to other things until we got to the kitchen and saw four trays filled with hot food sitting on a table waiting for us. Eating my food, I mentioned planning to video-chat with Michelle to Dakotah (the girl he was in love with) asking if he wanted to join me and see how she was doing. He agreed and we moved on to different random conversations as Rin listened in and Yukio sat silently to himself and ate his dinner.
After dinner we all headed up the stairs to my room and the twins went further up to theirs but I saw Rin looking back at us as he walked up the stairs. When Michelle answered the call, we had light conversation and she shyly said hello to Dakotah who was happy just to hear her voice. We asked her how she was doing and if she was having any problems at school, she said no and asked us about how we were and what it was like here. We answered her while being as vague as possible around the cram school we attended. After an hour of talking we said our goodbyes and turned off my laptop. It didn't take long for me to feel the sadness radiating off of Dakotah as his bangs covered his face and he looked down at nothing on my bedspread.
Quietly I turned on the music app on my phone and searched for "Levitating" by Dua Lipa ft DaBaby, playing it on low volume as I walked over to my best friend and hugged his head into my chest and played with his hair silently asking him what he needed for comfort. Slowly he wrapped his head around my waist and pulled me tighter to him. We stayed like that for a short while until he loosened his grip on me and looked up at my face. We stared at each other, one questioning what they wanted and the other asking for permission to take what he needed. This was a silent agreement between us as pack-mates. I would use him if I couldn't bare the pain during my cycles any longer and he would use me when his heart hurt for the one he couldn't be with.
He leaned his head up a little seeing what I would do and of course I would lean down to connect our lips. I would do anything to ease his pain and he would do the same for me. We kissed slowly and sweetly for a few minutes before he pulled me closer to him getting impatient and wanting to forget the girl on his mind for the time being. It wasn't long before he flipped us over so he was on top and he became more aggressive. We continued like that and soon into the night we reached the end goal and fell asleep in each other's arms.
It was a strange and horrible friendship we had but it worked for us and we saw no reason to end it. We were both broken people that understood each other and developed a kinship through our hurt. He was never close to anyone growing up because he was bullied as a kid for being to pretty for a boy and as he got older girls only dated him for his looks rater than getting to know him and soon he went down a path and became a player, not waning anyone to be close to. And in the last month, I developed emotions and memories of my OC growing up loving my mother and getting that love ripped away from me, then being bullied by kids for being an orphan and having arrogant exwires in training trying to hurt and kill me for sport.
Somewhere in middle school we crossed paths and would regularly happen upon each other as these events unfolded in our lives and we soon started looking out for each other without knowing it, he didn't care that I was part demon and I was grateful for that. We developed an understanding then a friendship and started opening up to each other and grew even closer. We told each other everything and helped each other gain other friendships in our young adolescence.
I was walking with him to his cram school when the director gave me a proposition and asked me to join and fight along my best friend to rid the world of demons that were acting out of control. I agreed and soon after, Dakotah and I were practically inseparable. The cram school is were we met Michelle and we became fast friends before she and Dakotah started developing feelings for each other. Then all these horrible things started happening around us and with Michelle gone and refusing to gain her memories back due to the pain it caused her, Dakotah and I decided we didn't need anyone else. It would be just the two of us and we'd keep everyone else at arm's length until we decided otherwise and that's how it has been since middle school. We are doing just fine as we are so there is no need to change it.
But I do plan on changing it at some point now. I'd like to start pursuing Rin if we can form a friendship of our own and I'll come clean about the relationship Kotah and I have and if he accepts me and doesn't freak out, I would end the benefits part of Dakotah's friendship and help him find someone to love again. Whether it is an old love or a new one, I will help him find and secure it.
The following day, he had become needy and would follow me wherever I went throughout the dorm. He would even sneak quick touches and kisses when the twins were nearby and they never noticed. I allowed it and gave him some of my own affections throughout the day until it was time for cram school I shoved him out of my room so as to not tempt him while I changed and told him to do the same so we weren't late.
As the week went on he became less and less clingy and back to his normal self while we attended the cram school. Poor Shiemi had to suffer some of his over-friendliness when he wrapped an arm around her in greeting. "Hands." I said as I walked past the row the girl was seated and sat in my own, Koda immediately letting go of the girl and lifting his hands in the air in surrender. Across from our desk was Bon and his friends, all of us ignoring each other. He may be pretty to look at but his attitude towards me didn't change and it was tiring so I left it alone.
Shiemi was nice and all I guess but she was quiet and kept to herself other than when she spoke with Rin I wasn't going to actively try and start a friendship and she obviously wasn't ready to crawl out of her shell either.
It didn't take long for the week to end and Dakotah and I received all of our purchases and helped each other decorate our rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed expressing ourselves with our decorations and talked excitedly about what else we might buy to add to our collection. The Monday following was when high school started and we both dreaded it and looked forward to it at the same time. It was an exciting change of pace but we would be separated for most of the day until lunch or cram school started.
Mid-week was when we became comfortable with our surroundings and when we started having problems with others. Girls would shamelessly flirt with Dakotah and he would occasionally egg them on. Other times he would brush them off and pull me along as he walked away out of boredom. This caused the girls to start hating on me when he wasn't around, and they would pick fights thinking they were hot shit.
At one point I asked in the middle of their insults if they knew English, they said yes, they weren't stupid and I sang a little song for them. "The wheels on the bus go vroom vroom vroom. Fuck with me, I'll fuck with you. Don't stand in my way, I'll blow right through cuz bitch that's how I do." After I finished I gave them a glare promising pain if they continued to bother me and they backed off for the time being. I knew they'd come back, girls always do in high school to start more drama to entertain themselves and thinking they had every right.
It wasn't quite the same on Dakotah's end though. Everyone gave him a fair amount of respect but one day we were hanging out outside during lunch when a group of guys walked up and started talking to him. Asking if he wanted to hang out with hem after class and pick up some girls. I snorted and made some off-hand comment about dumb boys having nothing better to do. "Do you have a problem girlie? Why don't you mind your own business and go lay on your back for some desperate guy willing to take you." one of the guys around the main one asked getting in my face. "No." I smiled, "But you're about to." Giving no indication on what I meant by that. In seconds Dakotah glared at the guy, grabbed him by the collar of his school shirt and lifted him in the air easily before slamming him on the lunch table. Lowering himself to get face to face with the idiot. "Don't ever say that to her again!" and with that he let go of the guy and looked back at the leader saying, "I'm not interested." before walking away. I laughed at the entire situation and bowed politely to the main guy of the pack before flipping off the guy who insulted me and walked after my redhead.
That same day we had cram school and Rin was, as usual, asleep in the middle of class. Every time he got lectured by a teacher, Bon would make comments under his breath and Dakotah would occasionally agree with him. He thought Rin was nice enough but he didn't like the demons lack of interest in learning how to become an exorcist. We watched from out desks as Bon and Rin started fighting in front of the room after Yukio handed out our test scores. I did pretty decent getting an 87 while it was no surprise that Dakotah got an 95.
During the break Dakotah and I ended up standing near the twins and Shiemi as they sat on the fountain. I had wanted to sit there and listen to the sound of the water but they got there first so we sat against a tree nearby and got caught up in their conversation as Yukio explained who Bon was, making Dakotah interested since Bon was the type of guy we would usually associate ourselves with except he didn't like me since I was a demon. I told Kotah it was ok to make other friends without me and Bon was someone he would probably get along with so I told him to go for it. As Yukio went off to prep for his next class he included us in his departure, "All of you, don't be late for your P.E. class." "Yeah, yeah, dad we got it." I said back as he walked away.
We watched Rin get flustered as Shiemi tried to ask Rin for friendship when Bon came over ruining the moment. "Look at you, making out in broad daylight!" immediately causing a reaction out of Rin. Bon continued to egg him on about Rin having some kind of pull in school to be able to enter and bring along his "girlfriend". Dakotah and I opted to stay out of it and just watch everything like we usually do. I didn't interfere because I knew it would be pointless and Dakotah was making mental notes about everyone present in his mind as he learned about them.
The warning bell for the next class chimed and we headed off ahead of everyone else to the changing rooms to get ready for P.E.
In class, Bon and Rin were up first for the training exercise and everyone watched as the two boys disregarded what the teacher said and just ran trying to out-race the other. We just chilled as the idiots started another fight and the teacher had to separate them.
Next was our turn, I slide down the wall first while Dakota glared at Shima for making whatever comment about my shorts before sliding down himself. The concept of the exercise was simple enough. We had to run from the frog thing at an even pace while figuring out what its next move was, aka which direction it was going to jump at next so we could avoid and dodge the thing. We finished at the same time and happily did a handshake we came up with at the finish-line before heading up the ladder as Shiemi and Izumo were called to go next. (The handshake is the gun one from tiktok. I just love it)
When we got to the top of the ladder Shima was making comments about my legs as we settle down into sitting position. And just for the hell of it I smirked at him a little and pulled a bit at the fabric of my skintight shorts and let go, making a smacking sound as it hit the skin of my leg, and winked at him before focusing back on class and ignoring the hearts in his eyes.
Class continued until the teacher got a call from his woman and he left us in a hurry.
Almost immediately the two dumbasses of the class started yet another fight before Bon challenged Rin to touch the frog but he wasn't taking the bait making Bon mad and head into the pit himself like an idiot. He stood in front of it for a moment before losing his composer and making the frog attack him. Both Rin and I sprung into action, him jumping in front of the frog to stop his attack like in the anime and jumping between him and Bon to protect the guy but be able to step in if something changed and Rin needed me. After the frog let go of Rin he started lecturing Bon and telling him that he was going to surpass everyone and be the one to kill Satan and they started fighting again. At this point I gave up and climbed back up to be with Dakotah.
After cram school Rin asked Dakotah and I to help him find books about exorcist and anything we thought would be helpful to him. Surprised I looked at Dakotah and we agreed running off to the library and finding a mountain of books to give to him. We helped him carry everything to class and Shiemi and Yukio were already inside. I sat on the desk next to the books as Rin complained about his hair getting in his face as he tried to read. Kota standing next to me when Bon walked in and completely out of character, Thanked Rin for saving his life and then giving him a hair clip. I cooed as if it were the most adorable thing I'd ever seen. "Hot, smart AND adorable, a whole package deal! Man, if only he wasn't such an ass." I said mostly to myself and Kotah. Bon may or may not have heard but he then turned to me blushing and not really meeting me in the eye. "Thanks for jumping in." he said before lifting his hand and placing it on my head, not really patting it before removing it and walking out of the room. We all looked at each other in amazement until the moment passed and Yukio urged his brother on to start studying. As he opened one book I offered to take the rest to the dorm and leave it by their room as I headed out. Yukio nodded his head in thanks and did nothing more.
