When I arrived on the other side I saw most of the other ace's getting back up as Hatsu got out of her suit, we were all out of breath. Seishika looked at us and asked "Where's Omiora?" A small sob came from Ugoka as Uta unexpectedly put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "...Oh no…" Seishika said at a loss for words. "No one thought to bring her corpse?" Ugoka asked us all angrily when he got up. "Her corpse will be brought to her family." I said in return as I rose up. "They'll have her buried well if they had any love for her." My words were full of poison…of anger…of pain. "We need to talk, now." Ugoka said to me. "What on earth is there to talk about?" I asked him as I turned to face him, my anger rising. "You are making a mistake and you know it!" He said as his anger began to rise too. "You're still on about this?" I asked him, "She's dead Ugoka! And it's their fault!" The room went silent after I said this, the two of us stared at each other for what felt like an eternity before I finally said. "I'm going to my lab." Before anyone could object I teleported to the lab, I remembered I had said I'd take a break but things had changed. For a while I had just sat there holding onto the pack that Omiora gave me, which held her mask in it, tears streamed down my cheeks and despite Yamiaka's attempts I was inconsolable. He tried to get me to call somebody, anybody...but I wouldn't budge. "What's so important in that bag?" He finally asked me. "You don't know?" I asked him. "Well no sir, I could tell you felt uncomfortable when I read your memories so I refrained from doing it again." He explained. "It's...something Omiora gave me." I replied. Yamiaka decided to leave it at that, but gave it a stare. There was something he wasn't telling me but I was a bit too preoccupied with mourning to care. "Kyokia?" Seishika asked over the radio, I didn't bother with it. "Kyokia are you there?". He tried a few more times before he finally said. "Damn it kid I know you're in pain but I got some important things to tell you." I finally picked up the radio and asked "What is it?". "More people are gonna join LOGIC." He said calmly. "What?" I replied with unintended sharpness. "Well, ever since your newest...order." Seishika started to explain. "We've been getting a lot of new people willing to join." "Why?" I asked Seishika. "Well honestly up till this point LOGIC seemed like peaceful protesters to the majority of the underworld." Seishika revealed. "But now that you're willing to fight for it, to shed blood for your goals...lots of people are on board.". I sat there and pondered this, we'd have to take more supplies to make room for more people if that was the case. "Okay...is that all you want to tell me?". "No…" Seishika said hesitantly. "See, while lots of people are joining us, not everyone agrees with your verdict...Ugoka is taking a third of the Jacks, Hatsu and Chimoka...and they're leaving'' While this was saddening to hear LOGIC was founded on being able to make your own choices, they were free to go. "But rest easy." Seishika said. "The people coming in will replace the Jacks, and I have a few Ideas on who can replace Hatsu, Ugoka, Chimoka and-" He stopped before he said her name. "Yeah…also, Ugoka wants to see you before they go.". I was silent for a few moments before I finally said "So be it.", I supposed I could see them off. "Is he in-". "The spire." Seishika finished for me. "Alright." I muttered as I rose.
I teleported back to the spire to find Hatsu and Chimoka sitting in their chairs. "I have to ask...why?" Ugoka said as he looked outside the observation window. "What made you sway from one of the cores you built LOGIC on?" There was a sad atmosphere about him, a disappointed one…there was silence for a bit. "We tried to do this peacefully." I said calmly as I joined Ugoka in looking out the window, standing side by side. "And they murdered her. The most kind, caring individual in LOGIC...they killed her." I then remembered my speech when LOGIC all began. "I once said that humans were the strongest species because we could adapt, now...we have to adapt.". Ugoka gave a sad look accompanied with a nod. Hatsu muttered something I didn't catch and Chimoka just sat there stoic as ever. "There's simply no place for us in LOGIC anymore." Hatsu said to me. "We're not murderers.". "How many is "we"?" I asked them quietly. "Any like minded individual." Ugoka responded. "Most of the Jacks are just leaving. But a few of them, Chimp, Hatsu and I... we're gonna form a small gang.". "You chose to be a leader." I reminded Ugoka. "Are you really just gonna abandon that now?". "I made a promise to myself and I made a promise to her, I won't break that." He replied as stubborn as ever, I sighed in disappointment and anger. "Then go." I said bitterly. "You act as if you're the only one who lost anything!" Ugoka said, now visibly angered. "I knew her before you!". My bitterness turned to anger, but before I said anything Yamiaka appeared to me. "Sir, please...don't get too upset. Think with a clear head." I returned my eyes back to the three of them, took a deep breath then calmly said "And now you're acting like you're the only one who lost someone.". Ugoka didn't say anything for a few moments. "Hatsu, Chimp...Give me and Kyo a sec.". "But-" Hatsu started. "Please, both of you.". Hatsu got up and said "I'm sorry this didn't work out kid." and left along with Chimoka. We were alone now, and Ugoka asked me something that caught me off guard. "Why do you talk to that thing?" I took a double take and wondered If I had heard him correctly. "What?" I asked him. "Ever since you got that bracelet… you've been talking to yourself." Ugoka started, this was unexpected, I thought I had been alone every time I conversed with Yamiaka. "I've heard you do it in your bedroom, on the stairs...but no one believed me." He said again. "Why?". I didn't say anything for about ten seconds before I finally said "You wouldn't understand…". Ugoka nodded again and said "You're probably right, I don't understand you anymore kid...and I see that I'm not gonna change your mind.". I stood there looking at him, part of me was sad to see him go, but it was his choice. "Seishika will see you and your friends out...goodbye Ugoka." I said painfully. "...Goodbye Kyo." Ugoka finally responded and turned to the stairs. "I-" I started to say almost out of instinct, Ugoka turned his head. "I'll miss you…all three of you…please tell them I said that." I requested. Ugoka nodded and said. "So will I…and I will." and continued to the stairs.
Once he left, it was just me in the spire. Ugoka and Omiora, my closest allies, my family...were gone. I found myself wanting to cry as I sat in the middle chair on the elevated platform, as if it were a throne. I chuckled to myself sadly, I was king of LOGIC, king of villainy! King of losing those I loved… I was never in this for power and yet here I had it, all it took was the people I cared about. I heard the door open, and saw Uta there. "Hey." she said to me. "Are you leaving too?" I asked her, I realized I sounded almost desperate and recomposed myself. "No." She replied. "I just came to check up." She said. "You? Uta? The coldest person in LOGIC? You're checking up on me?" I joked, but somehow it still sounded more sad than funny. "I'm full of surprises." She said as she walked over to me. "Honestly, I'm happy with the changes you've made." She added. "This cause...will be more likely to succeed." she said. "But, it's gonna cost more on you...technically there will be blood on your hands.". "So be it…" I said in response. Uta gave me a nod, I couldn't quite tell what it meant but it didn't seem to piss me off so it was a step in the right direction. I then picked up my radio. "Seishika, when will the new recruits be coming?" I asked him. "We'll, it may be a bit.". He said from the radio, I gave it a perplexed look. "Explain.". "Well, my men are all preoccupied...and I planned on having the twins set up the meeting area to bring people here for me.". He said. "And?" I asked him. "Well, they appear to have gone on a mission of their own…". I didn't say anything for a few moments, before I questioned. "What do you know?". "They said they had a plan to help out LOGIC significantly…". Seishika replied. "Well...I wish they told me but I suppose I can accept that. This time.". I sat up and looked through the observation deck. "Things could be going better." I said bitterly. "We could be living better, we could be doing everything better…" I wanted to make these people happy, to give them a better life, but I was tired...I was ready to give in before Omiora died and Ugoka left...now I was barely holding on. "Don't sweat it." Uta said to me. "We still have the stim." I remembered the lab suddenly, It was now officially our only hope. If we were to fight our way to freedom we'd definitely need it. "You're absolutely right." I said to her. "I'll start working on that right away.". I walked over to the elevated platform. "Once I return, we're going to get the aces together, and we're going to start out a war plan.". Uta gave an understanding nod as I teleported to the lab. I appeared in it again and saw the bag where I left it. "I should have been there…" I said as I picked it up, and clutched it to my chest. "I should have been stronger...but I'm not." I placed it on the desk and sat in the chair. "I just want this to end…" I said to the bag, as if it was Omiora. "I'm so tired...so angry...I just…" I looked up and saw a frowning Yamiaka, then looked back at the bag. "Whether LOGIC dies or the heroes die, I'm okay with either… but I'll do what I can for LOGIC…" I then got up, took a deep breath and walked over to the puzzle.
About five hours passed as I worked on the stim, there were now an extra thirty seconds on the time. "This thing gets more and more difficult…" I muttered to myself, every time I got any progress in it the mistakes made would be more costly. "Kyokia…" I heard my personal radio page me, it was my uncle. "Uncle Kiyaka?" I asked him, I was happy to hear his voice again, he was the only one who I could relate to as true family now. "I'm sorry I haven't been talking to you lately, LOGIC'S been keeping me busy…". "I heard about what happened...I'm sorry." He said, almost robotically. "I know she meant a lot to you." I was silent for about eight seconds before I said "She meant a lot to everyone…". Uncle seemed off, as if he was reading from a script or he was about to give me some bad news…if fact, it was reminiscent of the night we had dinner…which was concerning. I wanted to change the subject so I asked him "What you been up to lately?" In hopes of him revealing why he was so down. "I was worried you'd ask that…" He said, heartache was imbued in his voice. "What? Why?" I asked, now more concerned for him. "Your friend paid me a visit today…". Uncle said to me, I all but froze. Had Izuku found out my uncle? He had met him when we went to the sports festival at UA so he knew we were related. "He brought two others, a redhead and a blonde." "...well?" I questioned him. "I had no idea what to do at first." Uncle started. "They came accusing me, saying that I'd helped you start LOGIC and that I knew where its head base was...and worse? They said a villain told them this!" I was stunned, I wondered if Ugoka had told them. Perhaps he wanted to ensure LOGIC didn't kill anyone "In any case, we fought." Uncle said. This alarmed me, for his and Izuku's safety. "Well? What happened?" I asked him almost in a panic. "I would've defeated them y'know…" He said. "I don't know what I would've done with them, but they weren't any match for me...not with the amount of quirks I've amassed.". "What stopped you?" I asked him, as his wording and tone definitely alluded to him not defeating them. "Well, they told me something, something that made me see things their way...You've ordered your people to kill heroes…". I was shocked to hear he saw things "Their way.", but I wanted to explain my actions. "I'm doing what's best for LOGIC.". "It's a slippery slope y'know…" Uncle Kiyaka said. "Murder that is, first its one person, then its a group...then its whoever crosses you." There was a pause before he said. "I couldn't let that happen, not to you…". My heart raced as I was starting to get the bigger picture. "Uncle...what have you done?" I asked him.
"I couldn't tell you any earlier...but the kids gave a tip to a certain retired pro hero...who told a certain number one hero." The number one hero he talked about was Endeavor, he was the second best hero until All Might's retirement, now he was by default the first. "They'll be there in a matter of minutes." I couldn't believe it, my uncle who had been there since the beginning, who had given us shelter and supported us...had betrayed us. "I'm sorry…" He said to me. "This is for your own good.". I wanted to argue, I wanted to do anything...but I had to warn everyone, so I simply said. "I trusted you…" I dropped the radio and heard him say "Please, don't resist." as I started to teleport. I appeared back in the spire and walked to the conference table in a panic. I slammed the button to the intercom and said "Alert! We're under attack! This is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill.". I could see the small house at the other end of the cavern, the "entrance" started to open, and low and behold...heroes started to flow out. I was too late to warn LOGIC. I stared as fighting started to ensue, and saw many notable heroes show up, multiple of the top ten heroes were present, even Shouta Izawa, Izuku's esteemed teacher was present. "Apparently he let class go for the day." I muttered, I looked at the amount of heroes, and the amount of Jacks. "Sir." Yamiaka said to me. "What's the plan?". I gave him a look of disapproval, and laughed a bit...it was a dreary laugh. "Plan?" I asked him. "There is no plan, look at them!". I wanted to go and fight them, I wanted to be able to rally the Jacks and remaining ace's, but I knew it was no use. "There's no way we'll win this." I muttered somberly. "Sir!" I heard my radio call me, it was Uta. "Sir the heroes! They're here!" She said in anger and surprise.". "What should we do!?". "Whatever you feel is best." I said plainly to her. "That's what LOGIC is all about.". "Agh damn it!" she cursed from the other side of the radio. "We'll do what we can, but Endeavor...he's going straight for the spire!". "Understood, me and Seishika are planning an escape route but it will take time, fight for as long as you can and when I give the message come to the spire." I lied to her. "Got it!" Uta said with hope in her voice. I walked away from the observation deck and made my way to the larger chair. "Sir..." Yamiaka started, somewhat confused. "Seishika isn't…". "Let them go down with hope." I said to him coldly, I knew we were not winning, but we didn't have to go down hopeless. "Well then...what will you actually do?" Yamiaka asked again. Endeavor was a powerful hero with a strong fire quirk, I wanted to do this one on one if anything, I wanted to be prepared for the number one hero, the number one monster. I sat down, clutching onto my quarterstaff in anger and looked at Yamiaka, before I hissed "Wait.".
I thought it was Ironic as I sat there, that when LOGIC needed me most was when I gave up. Yamiaka had disappeared, allowing me to wait alone in...regret. I felt a little guilty, I had finally allowed my selfishness to overcome my desire to help, I had some time to contemplate everything I had done up to this point. I had made an organization and brought hope to many people within it, I had given everything I could, possibly ruined every friendship I had to do it and now I was allowing it to be destroyed without so much as a lifted finger. I wondered what would have happened if I had listened to Izuku that night instead of acting in rage. I wanted to listen to him, I wanted him here...I wanted everyone here, My mother, Mugiti, Omiora...even Ugoka and Kiyaka despite the fact they revealed our location. I then remembered that at least some of them escaped this, Hatsu, Chimoka and Ugoka had escaped and the twins were away, they'd be safe...but I couldn't do anything for the others. I sat there feeling sorry for myself, for everyone, but anger also simmered in my stomach, It was my fault this was happening, but I wasn't the only one to blame seeing as it was heroes who drove me to do this...and now the top hero was on his way to put an end to LOGIC. I chuckled a bit at that, the second we started to kill people was when they deemed us a threat...if I hadn't made that order we'd all be okay, my head shot up as I realized that one action single handedly doomed LOGIC, everything I had worked for would be destroyed due to the heroes and my outrage. I hung my head in shame and anger until I heard the door open, as he walked in.
