Coruscant:
Emperor Palpatine sat in his throne room meditating on the news that he had received from his Apprentice. Lord Vader had gone to Dantooine because he had found evidence of a Jedi fugitive. According to Lord Vader's report, the Jedi lead was a dead end and in the course of his search he had encountered this mysterious dark warrior and his Star Destroyer. A battle followed in which Vader had chosen to enlist a crew of pirates to assist him while he waited for his fleet to arrive. In the course of the attack, most of the firepower from this dark lord had been focused on Lord Vader and his starfighter. Vader informed Palpatine that the man was likely in his mid-twenties and that he called himself Darth Vectis.
Vader said that Vectis was no match for his power but Vectis had escaped. Vectis also had numerous stormtroopers with unique plastoid armor that differed from that of the stormtroopers who served the Galactic Empire. The star destroyer that they used appeared to take inspiration off of the imperial class star destroyers but it appeared to be more advanced. Where had this Darth Vectis obtained such weapons and capital to produce such a sophisticated vessel? Who was he and what did he have to do with the Galactic Empire?
Palpatine also wondered about this mysterious white robed Jedi. She had shown him images of his death in his mind.
"As twice you fell so now you shall fall," what did she mean? She had shown him his final death on Exegol. She had shown him that he had died twice. Once at the hands of a black armored cyborg in what looked like the Death Star Throne Room and a second time at his hand. Was this Jedi connected to this Darth Vectis? What did she know that he did not know? What about the Jedi who had destroyed the Death Star? Who was he and was he the offspring of Anakin Skywalker?
Palpatine's meditations were interrupted by a presence on the other side of the doors that led into his throne room. The doors opened as Gallius Rax entered the room and bowed, "Permission to speak your Majesty?"
"Please enter and rise Commander Rax," Palpatine replied.
Rax approached him as he spoke, "Colonel Yularen asked me to send you with an update on the investigation of the Death Star Pilot."
"Oh," Palpatine replied.
"We know a name, gender and species."
"What do you know?" Palpatine asked.
"He is male and he is human the name is Skywalker according to the intel we found on a downed X-Wing he is currently a squadron Captain of Red Squadron and his first name is Luke."
"Anything else?" Palpatine asked.
"We have no image."
"That is sufficient enough for now. It only confirms what I have long suspected about the Skywalker mystery. Keep this development quiet for now while I meditate on what we should do with this information," Palpatine said.
Ajan Kloss:
Luke looked out of the viewport of his father's tie fighter at the surface of the lush green planet he was landing on. He looked at the sensors on the scanner and noticed that at least four humanoid lifeforms and a ship were on the surface. He sighed, "I guess I will have to see who is here probably pirates."
Luke had several credit chips and he figured if they were to double cross him that he could easily defeat a handful of ruffians. He neared the surface of the planet and spotted a large clearing where he was shocked to see a ship that was identical to the Millennium Falcon. He was even more shocked by the sight of a wookiee on top of the ship. He realized in disbelief that Chewbacca was there. He reached out with the Force and sensed Chewbacca but sensed two other unfamiliar force presences and another individual. He landed the ship and looked out of the viewport to see Chewbacca holding his bowcaster. Nearby he saw a white robed figure with a yellow lightsaber blade and a young man with a green lightsaber. Behind them stood a man that was wearing a flight jacket who had graying dark hair and a blaster rifle.
His eyes widened, "Who are these people?"
He opened the cockpit realizing he had no choice but to find out. Whatever was happening, he needed help to get back to his family and he was stranded on an uninhabited planet that wasn't listed in Imperial charts although he had recollection of Organa mentioning that the Alliance had discovered a world in this sector that was uninhabited but habitable. He turned and walked down the boarding ramp as he saw expressions of shock on the faces of the individuals. The lightsabers were deactivated as the blasters were lowered. The woman approached him and unhooded. She looked to be around his father or mother's age. She was beautiful, she had dark hair and dark eyes. She looked at him and greeted him with the title he least expected to hear, "Master Luke Skywalker."
Chewbacca let loose a roar as he dropped his blaster and rushed him. Luke's eyes widened as the Wookiee roared what he recognized as, "I missed you so much."
The Wookiee hugged him and picked him up before setting him back down. Luke pulled back from the delighted Chewbacca as he spoke, "Where are the others? Who are you?"
The woman looked back at Luke's vessel as she spoke, "We thought you were Darth Vectis's scouts at first or Imperial scouts Luke."
The middle-aged man approached Luke as he spoke, "I am Poe Dameron," the man said.
Luke looked at him as he spoke, "Any relation to Kes Dameron?" Luke knew Dameron as the young Alliance lieutenant that he had gone on three missions with in the last two years.
Poe nodded his head, "He was my father."
Luke's eyes widened as he spoke, "That is impossible."
The woman looked at Luke as she spoke, "This won't be easy for you to hear Luke the and Chewbacca here is not the same Chewbacca that you know. In the time that we come from you are dead so is Kes Dameron."
It dawned upon Luke, the identification document that was from the future. The sophistication of the rogue star destroyer and the fighters that it deployed. It all slowly made sense, perhaps Luke would get some answers from this group that his family desperately needed.
Luke looked at Chewie as he spoke, "Where is the Han of the future?"
Chewie's head lowered as Rey spoke, "Han was killed on a mission with Chewbacca and I over three decades from now. From our point of view he died about sixteen years ago."
Luke looked at them and spoke, "You are from the future? Fifty years from the future?"
Rey nodded as she spoke, "Luke if you would sit down with me, we can meditate together you can open your mind and it will allow you to see everything that transpires. History and the flow of time has changed starting with the emergence of Darth Vectis's ship in your timeline."
Luke looked at Rey as he spoke, "Who trained you?"
Rey sadly looked at Luke as she answered the question, "I was trained by you and Leia before the two of you died."
"And you rebuilt the order?"
"Yes, you were rebuilding the order shortly before my time but then you were betrayed by your greatest student who destroyed everything that you had built. He is the same student who killed Han Solo he was the cause of your own death when you were forced to sacrifice yourself to save three of us who are here now with others who were part of the next great Rebellion."
"Rey do you think he is ready to know everything? He is rather young," said the younger Jedi Knight at her side.
"Roan, I am not sure if there is any other way and we need him to have the knowledge necessary to do his part in defeating Vectis. Vectis is no longer just our problem but also a problem of the past and the past has changed with it even our destinies have changed."
"W-Who is my student that killed Han?" Luke demanded.
"His birth name was Ben Solo he was the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo. Leia Organa Solo is also known as Leia Skywalker. In the time we came from she was raised by Bail Organa and you were raised on Tatooine to keep the two of you safe from your father and Emperor Palpatine."
Luke shivered at the thought, he knew his sister had a crush on Han he loved Han. Him and Leia were still only fifteen-year-olds far too young to consider marriage or their own children. Yet, Luke found it strange to imagine that his sister would become a mother of a child with Han let alone that that child would kill his own father.
"The lightsaber that Vectis carries is the same one that killed Han," Rey said.
"Is he inspired by my fallen nephew?"
"And your fallen father," Roan interjected.
"Who is he?" Luke asked.
"His birth name was Temiri Blagg he was a stable boy in the city of Canto Bight on Cantonica. He met my first student, Finn and a friend of ours during a mission to the city. Finn went back to the city a few years after the war and remembered him and he went and took the boy from the city back to my Jedi Academy where we trained him."
"And then he fell?" Luke asked.
Rey nodded as she sat down cross legged. Luke followed suit and faced this mysterious time traveler with interest.
"Are you ready?" Rey asked.
"Yes," Luke replied.
Luke then closed his eyes as Rey's voice entered his mind along with her own memories and visions of the future, "Thirty-two years from now you are a Jedi Master and head of
the new fledging order when your greatest Apprentice who is the son of Han Solo and your twin sister, Ben Solo falls to the Dark Side. You confront him, your temple is
destroyed after he knocks you unconscious."
Luke felt himself shaking as he watched an aged form of his older self-crossing blades with his nephew before being hurled back against the wall of the dwelling that they were
in as he screamed, "Ben!"
The middle-aged self he saw had a beard, a mechanical hand and a green lightsaber with a hilt that Luke had never seen. Luke guessed that he had not yet constructed the lightsaber. He had started using his father's lightsaber after his first lightsaber had been destroyed on a mission. He had delayed building a new one for almost two years. What horrified Luke most of all was not the attack from his nephew but the fact that he clearly provoked the attack by activating his lightsaber while the boy slept. What was I thinking?" Luke asked.
"You had seen so much in your life that in a moment of passion and fear you reacted and the way you handled it may have been fatal. You should have focused on preventing his fall and perhaps in this time you can prevent yourself from making some of the mistakes that you once made a second time," Rey said in a comforting manner through the Force.
Shortly after the destruction of the temple, he saw a masked man committing countless atrocities and wielding the same lightsaber wielded by a dark robed figure wearing a black mask. He witnessed a weapon far greater than the Death Star called Starkiller Base unleashing unbelievable firepower that encompassed an entire star system. He is terrorized with the sight of his future nephew impaling an aged Han Solo as Chewbacca roars in rage and fires upon the man Rey referred to as Kylo Ren. Ren is in his late twenties appeared to be emotionally torn by his battle with the Dark Side. Luke witnessed his brief instruction of Rey. He watched as his disillusioned self told her that it was time for the Jedi to end. Luke called himself a failure and stated that the Jedi Order was a failure to the younger Rey. The beautiful young girl is determined to convince him to train her and in time he agrees to teach her a lesson. He watched as he fought with Rey after she communed with Ren through a mysterious Force bond.
Shortly after his meeting with Rey, he witnessed the First Order fleet closing in on a group of resistance leaders who are led by an aged Leia. He saw their fleet being decimated as they attempted to escape. Eventually he witnessed his own death as he saves the last survivors of his sister's resistance group including his sister from certain death.
Later, he learned that Rey is a Palpatine. He felt fear as he learns that she is the granddaughter of his sworn enemy. Rey explained that her grandfather had destroyed her parents and sought her for her power. Palpatine was being revived from death through cloning on the world of Exegol.
He eventually witnessed the final battle in which Rey defeated the Emperor once and for all at the cost of her own life. His redeemed nephew approached her and placed his life force into her body and revived her at the cost of his own life.
In the newly liberated Galaxy free of the First Order and the Sith, Rey informed Luke that unbeknownst to them one First Order vessel evaded capture and destruction. They continued to train new generations of stormtroopers but their small cell was without a leader who could challenge her newly fledging Jedi Order and the new Republic which had learned lessons from its mistakes after the Galactic Civil War and in the decades of peace. They had built a stronger fleet and a more cohesive fleet to preserve the safety, security and legitimacy of the new regime. The Jedi were assisting Republic leaders in purging First Order and Imperial Sympathizers and arresting conspirators of the First Order.
One young student in Rey's fledging order had a strong obsession with the Skywalker family and Luke quickly realized that this padawan was Temiri Blagg. He appeared to revere Luke but as he grew up, he started to revere Vader and Ren in a disturbing way that was disheartening to the Jedi Master.
"I believed that I could prevent the rise of another Darth Vader. I was wrong, the boy had too many demons. Like your father and I he had a hard forlorn childhood. I thought that I could help him to overcome his demons because of all that I had overcome. Maybe I was too idealistic. But think about it, me you and your sister and our dark family legacies. I was the granddaughter of Palpatine and you and Leia were the children of Darth Vader. Yet, despite who spawned us we were key to the final destruction of the Sith. Who was better to prevent the fall of another gifted young man? How I failed," Rey said.
Rey then showed Luke visions of her training the young boy as he developed into a young man alongside the rest of her fledging Jedi Order. The boy was raised with full knowledge of the consequences of the Dark Side. When he approached the reality of the final fate of both Vader and Kylo Ren, he appeared more interested in the power they wielded as opposed to the destruction that they caused. He eventually stole a Sith Holocron and learned the ways of the Dark Side before fleeing the Jedi Academy at age eighteen to take over the First Order remnant. After one attack by the remnant First Order, they discovered that they were constructing a new Starkiller Base and were planning to strike the New Republic and eliminate democracy and freedom once and for all.
The boy sought out Sith lore and eventually visited the moon where Ben Solo had discarded the lightsaber of Kylo Ren. The Dark Side of the Force called out to the boy and he eventually was able to call the lightsaber from the dark waters in which it was thought to have vanished for good. The lightsaber found its place in the hands of the new disciple of darkness.
Rey left her friend, a now fully trained Jedi and ex stormtrooper Finn in charge of the new Jedi Order for what she believed would be the end of her life. Fully trained Jedi Knight Roan Olin who was one of her first pupils joined her alongside Poe Dameron and Chewbacca for what they knew to be a suicide mission to save the Galaxy and the Republic. The plan was to infiltrate and deactivate the shield generator on the Starkiller Base and to destroy the thermal oscillator just as Han Solo had done to the previous base decades earlier. In the meantime, the Jedi and other Republic leaders would strike the First Order's newly constructed Star Destroyers above the base in a daring space battle that appeared to rival Luke's own exploits. Once the base was vulnerable they would move in and destroy the base. This battle was expected to take place as the First Order remnant charged their weapon to fire on Coruscant.
When Rey and her crew landed on the planet, they realized that they were too late. They had only minutes to stop the destruction of the Republic. There appeared to be no chance to prevent the weapon from firing upon Coruscant. Roan proposed a bold action that was risky but it was truly their last hope. He proposed using the Force to move the moon that was still orbiting the planet out of orbit so that it would be caught by the planet's gravity. Such a collision would cause a massive chain reaction that would ignite the entire planet. In desperation, Rey agreed with the risky plan. The two Jedi went into a deep meditation trance and successfully managed to cause the planetary collision as the base finished charging its weapon. Once the moon was on a collision course with the planet they flew off of the planetary weapon barely escaping the collision. As the explosion happened something unthinkable happened. The star that the weapon had drained was three times the size of the star used by Starkiller Base to destroy the Hosnian system. The planet first became a star but then to their disbelief just as Darth Vectis closed in on them in his star destroyer, the star went supernova collapsing into a massive black hole that neither ship could escape. The black hole consumed and destroyed all of the other First Order and New Republic vessels that were unfortunate enough to be pulled into it.
Not long after that their journey ended, they also found themselves in the middle of a large asteroid field. They were in the same place where the second Starkiller base had been constructed but the entire star system was gone. They were in the midst of a large debris field from the battle and there were also the remains of three First Order Star Destroyers who had not survived the time travel journey as well as several New Republic vessels. Their journey had only been minutes to them but the effects of the destruction of the Star System had ripped a massive hole through time and space. When they spotted Vectis's ship, they had deactivated their engines and kept their vessel hidden in the debris. They had not been detected. To their knowledge he did not know that they had survived the trip through the black hole.
Rey opened her eyes in grief as Luke gasped in terror, he opened his eyes as she spoke, "Forgive me that was a lot to show you. Such visions can be overwhelming."
Luke looked at Rey as he spoke, "So we managed to defeat Palpatine?" Luke felt himself shivering as he realized that he was facing the granddaughter of Palpatine who was now a Jedi Master.
"Your father died killing my grandfather when he died the first time. He had clone bodies for his death prepared so that he could revive himself. He entered the body but the body was unable to hold his spirit so he was confined to Exegol where his loyalists had resurrected him because he had to wear a special harness to sustain his life."
Luke looked at Rey as he spoke, "I am overwhelmed. I have always wondered if our efforts would be a success."
"You are a legend in my time. Your name and that of your sister are immortalized as the true heroes of the Galaxy. I cannot tell you what an honor it was for me to learn from the two of you in the short time that I had with you both."
"The me that you knew looks like he was broken by the things that happened and by the fall of his nephew," Luke replied.
"Yes, it was a great trial for you to face. Maybe this time, Ben will not fall to the dark side. Maybe this time we can ensure that Sidious is already permanently destroyed forever, Still there is one great lesson you must learn in due time so that you can teach that lesson to me," said Rey.
"What is that lesson?" Luke asked.
"You told me that confronting fear was the destiny of a Jedi and you convinced me to go and face my grandfather as I ended up doing."
"I still cannot believe that someone like you could be the granddaughter of that monster."
"Many said the same when it was revealed publicly that your sister was the daughter of Darth Vader," Rey said.
"The past is changing already with what happened when that black hole pulled us back through time. You may very well be able to prevent the future as it unfolds in my time as that future is already changing," Rey said.
Luke liked the idea of preventing the destruction that he had witnessed through Rey. He only hoped that there were more blessings than consequences from the changes caused by the emergence of the black hole fifteen years earlier followed by the emergence of Darth Vectis's star Destroyer just a year earlier and the presence of Rey and her crew. It was clear that just the singular temporal distortion had already changed history. "Let's get this fighter repaired so that you can get back to your comrades," Rey said. Luke looked at Rey with gratitude as Poe approached the pair of Jedi, "I've already checked it out and repairs will take a good day or so but between Chewie and I the droids, Rey and you we will have it fixed in a day or so. Maybe sooner if your mechanical skills rival ours."
Luke looked at Poe with surprise, "You are aware of my skills?"
"Your Sister was my commanding officer during the war with the First Order. She mentioned that you were just as good of a mechanic as you were a pilot. I have heard the same about Ben Solo."
Luke smiled, of course my nephew would have been a good pilot and mechanic. He is the grandson of Anakin Skywalker and the son of Han Solo and Leia Skywalker. He looked at this group of strangers who were now new friends as he rolled up his sleeves and prepared to work alongside them.
Alright that is it for now. Thank you for reading and reviewing. A few things: Yes the strange singularity that Admiral Piett mentioned is when the timeline became distorted or altered. Darth Vectis's ship and the Millennium Falcon of the future still did not emerge from the black hole for fourteen years. What was years for Admiral Piett was minutes or seconds for Darth Vectis's crew and the Millennium Falcon. There was a battle in that destroyed system during the Clone Wars so we are talking about debris from Old Republic Ships mixed in with Separatist fleet debris and then some from the First Order and New Republic Fleets since several ships were pulled into the black hole. This story was from when it started a time travel story although some aspects of it changed. My goal is to have this story wrapped up before Summer. There may be a new story in the near future if anyone wishes to see new work which I have not published in a very long time.
