A month later the Robbins were still visiting the Naeginos weekly. The two family stayed and got closer. Layla, on the other hand, was too busy with her new responsibility as a Hamilton Corp's shareholder and the rehearsals for Yuri's cabaret project. Sora felt a little lonely at first but thanks to her re-education at Cape Mery hospital, she was now able to start again her training.

And finally the long awaited meeting has started in Kalos's office about the next projects and the current situation. Layla and Cathy were sitting on the same sofa at the left, Kalos was behind his desk with Sara at his side, who was looking through the window, a little pensive. Mia and Sora were on the right sofa while Leon stood up against a wall near the entrance door. Yuri was reading his notes while walking all over the place, throwing glances to Sarah from times to times. Richard and M. Kenneth were sitting on a chair, face to face, listening carefully.

"So to sum up everything. May and Léon will fulfill Mulan shows until mid-october. That way Sora will have enough time to train for the next play: Beauty and the Beast." Yuri announced proudly.

Mia laughed loudly. "The beast part really suit you." She said glancing at Léon, playfully.

"If you say so." He simply answer, a little grumpy. He lately seemed in a really bad mood.

"We're in mid-september and you expect to launch two new shows in one month?!" It was M. Kenneth who looked incredulous. "Will the new building be ready?"

Kalos coughed before speaking. "The holidays are an important season for entertainment business. We can't miss it. The Cabaret has to open in november." He was absolute and resolved.

"The Hamilton Foundation will grow its investment to finish the building of the new aisle. We expect a return accordingly." Richard added as a warning.

"For that we need to know Layla's wishes after the first show, don't we?" M. Kenneth inquired.

Everyone turned toward Layla who was pensive. She found herself more and more concerned by the her father company. Yet, at the same time, being an actress still gave her joy and a feeling of accomplishment. And she was impatient to share the scene with Sora one last time. But if the Cabaret is a success, the frequence of the shows will grow from one night to full four nights. Which means less time with Sora who already complained. They wouldn't be able to develop their relationship. "I need more time." She finally stated.

You could hear several people sighing. At least she didn't say no.

"I have a question about the theme of the first Cabaret show. I know we're here for a more mature tone but homosexuality…?" M. Kenneth really regretted to be a simple observant with the Kaleido future. He found the idea exciting but a little too risqué. Nonetheless he was mostly astonished with Kalos reaction or more precisely non reaction.

The said director finally talk. "The show will only started at ten, never before. No kids allowed at all. Those were my conditions."

"Plus we made market research. People who watch cabaret shows don't mind the homosexuality theme. The purpose of the Cabaret is to attract a new public. People who want entertainment for everyone are not our target. Nor homophobic one." Yuri explained, showing some datas to everyone.

"The world is not as simple. Sora is the image of the Kaleido Stage. What will conservative parents do when we start to communicate about the show?" M. Kenneth was still perplexed.

"A fiction is a fiction. As long it is not crossing reality, a press conference will suffice. Plus 'Beauty and the Beast' will .be as straight as it can be to counteract any rumor of lesbianism. " Kalos replied. He was perplexed too but he couldn't say no to all the money Richard promised him. It was a pity Sora and Leon broke up after all. But at least it didn't seem to have any bad influence on their relationship on stage or outside. He quite impressed by their maturity. Especially Sora.

He didn't noticed everyone weird face when he talked about the real world. M. Kenneth seemed satisfied with his answer and crossed his arms.

Layla got a little more pensive. How long could they play this game?

"Well. Let's stop the meeting here. Good work everyone." Yuri scratched his neck making a weird face.

The next day, a tuesday, Layla and Sora were in a car shop with Archibald. They both successfully obtained their driver licence. Yuri was a little worried for Sora and was gladly surprised when she passed. The day before the test she was still confusing her left and her right. But maybe she was playing with him.

Now they were looking for their first car but they were arguing about the model.

"Why can't we buy this one?" Sora protested with a pouting face.

"Because it's not safe. You just had your license. Forget any sport car!" Layla didn't want to shout the last words but she was tired and irritated.

"Fine." Sora had no argument against safety. She looked around the shop and stopped her stare on the end left. "How about this one?" She suggested showing the car with her index.

Layla followed the direction but stayed silent. Archibald glanced at the car to understand what was wrong this time. He couldn't help a laugh looking at a blue minivan.

Seeing no reaction from her girlfriend, Sora got closer and put her hands behind her neck for a hug. She then whispered in Layla's ear. "Please, I want the sport car. I swear to be prudent. And I promise to thank you rightfully." She added seductively.

Layla mind refused to function properly. She cursed her libido and her weakness for Sora plea. "You win." She simply sated.

"Thank you!" Sora jumped highly and kissed her on the cheek. "I'm gonna look for a seller." She said joyfully while leaving.

"Ha! Ha! She-" Archibald started.

"Don't say a word!" Layla interrupted.

The beard man just kept his smile. "Don't be such a party pauper. It's your birthday gift!"

"What if we didn't pass our tests?" She asked curiously.

"Yuri is a good teacher. Usually I would have pay you some nights with some g-"

"Don't! Are you out of your mind?!" She shouted while Sora was coming back with an old seller.

Archibald simply grinned ironically. He didn't understand why it was such a problem. But he knew he was happy to have no attachment.

"You made a good choice. The BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid sport car with the latest technologies. Its butterfly doors and its curved design will-"

"We do not need an advertising. We're buying it." Archibald prefered to stop the vendor before Layla changed her mind. "Where do I sign?"

The car seller was taken aback but he wasn't a fool. "Follow me please." He showed him an office box with glass doors.

"Are you mad at me?"

"What?" Layla stared at Sora with a puzzled look.

"For being selfish." Sora explained. "I know you didn't want this car but-"

"That's not it. It's a nice car but I'm worried about your safety." Layla put her fingers on Sora's cheek to caress it slowly. "Which is why you can't drive it without me."

Sora smiled widely. "I don't mind. The more we're together, the better." She took Layla's hand to feel it more. "How about we inaugurated it with a trip for a couple of days? We can ask my family and your father to come?"

"I'm not sure it's a good idea Sora. Your father is still-" Layla looked for the least offensive word but failed at it.

"The more time you pass together the better you'll get along with him!" Sora said enthusiastically.

"I'm not so sure. I'm not even sure I can make time for this." Layla tried to protest but she knew it was a lost battle. When Sora had something on mind...

"I want us to share this time together on the road." Sora explained. "Please."

"Fine." Once again, Sora won. Sometimes Layla wondered if this love wasn't a curse. She felt less and less sensible when it comes to her girlfriend.

When Archibald returned, he told them the car will be ready in five days. The girls thank him another time for his gift and they parted their ways.

The next day at the Naeginos, Martha and Midori were busy with Yume's birthday. She will be two years-old and they decided to have some fun at marine park together. The two women were discussing in the living-room with some cookies and tea on the table sofa. Yume was playing alone with her legos and seemed really concentrated.

"Thursday is better day. It will be less crowded." Mrs Robbins suggested. "And Chikara and Ralph will finish work at three. The can join us afterwards."

Midori agreed but something else bothered her. "I wondered if Richard-san could make it. He seems so busy."

"Richard?" Martha questioned.

"Layla-san's father." Midori answered.

Ken's mother eyes grew slightly. "Oh! Oh! I didn't know you were so close."

"Yume loves him. They play together when he visits his daughter." Midori explained with a nostalgic smile looking at the soon to be two years-old.

Martha thought it was surprising and weird at the same time but she kept this for herself. "Well, it can't be helped if he's busy. Hamilton Corp is a big enterprise."

"Yes, it can't be helped." Midori replied sadly.

"So, how about the barbecue?" Martha said to change the subject. "Before or after?"

"It might be a little too much." Midori was thankful for the Robbins help and presence but she prefered a simple diner with her family to celebrate Yume's birthday.

"You sure? It would be fun and we could pass more time together." Martha augmented.

"Yes, I am." Midori stated still lost in her thoughts.

"Okay. Then what about the cake?" Mrs Robbins asked.

"After dinner, I guess."

"About the foods-"

"I will do it myself. A japanese meal." Midori interrupted her guest nicely but firmly.

"Of course. How many guests?"

"Just the family." Mrs Naegino answered.

"Sooo, Sora's ex-boyfriend won't be there?" Martha inquired with a little smile, hard to hide. She still remembered her joy when Sora announced it was over. It was the weekend they helped the Naeginos to move in their furniture. But she didn't understand why her son still hadn't made any move since.

Midori was taken aback by the question. She hardly thought about Léon since Sora told the truth. Her daughter was happy with Layla who really took a good care of her. As a mother, that was enough. Yet she was still annoyed by that lie. How long could they live with it? "We never met that way. For us he just an acquaintance of Sora. Or her coworker."

"Good. Good. She really can find someone better. Someone you stayed by her side when she needed it. Someone who helped her through her re-education." Martha firmly believed her son needed her help to win Sora's heart. She will start with her family. Midori was a mother and they both wanted happiness for their child.

Midori was about to say something when a very loud noise interrupted them.

"What's that sound?" Asked Martha while she stood up abruptly.

Yume on the other hand seemed unperturbed by it. Her toys were more important.

"It came from Layla and Sora's." Midori suggested showing the open balcony.

The two women went outside to see what happened. "I didn't know one of them was here at this time of the day." Martha questioned.

"They're not supposed to." Midori replied while looking at their neighbour's balcony. The glass door was fully open which meant someone was there.

Then they heard voices.

Sora's mother rose her feet trying to look inside.

"Be careful. Maybe they're thief! We should just call the police." Martha sounded a little afraid and stopped her steps until a cry with a distinctive voice came to their ears.

"Oh my! Yes! That's it! Please keep on!"

Then the sliding glass door was abruptly closed.

Martha was not afraid of imaginary thieves anymore but she was clearly intrigued while Midori was pensive. They came back inside quickly after the false alert and sat down in the open kitchen.

"It's 2 p.m. Do you want some tea or coffee?" Midori proposed while putting cups on the table.

"Yes. Some coffee please but wha-"

"I guess they came back earlier." Midori interrupted.

"Maybe but the sound Sora made was a li-"

"They're probably exercising together for- for the next show." Midori tried to explain.

"Oh! Oh! Of course. That's it. How does it go? Lucy is so excited to see Layla on stage again." Martha seemed to have forgotten about earlier incident.

"Unfortunately I don't think she can. Richard said it will be forbidden to children." Midori said while pouring coffee. "Since we are settled for tomorrow, let's do some shopping."

"Sure but let's visit Sora before." Martha decided while finishing her coffee hastily. "It's been a while."

"I'm not sure now is the right time. They may be exhausted by their-" Midori was lost for words and excuse.

"They're young and in great condition. Let's go!"

"Wait!" Midori shouted but Ken's mother was already opening the entrance door. "We won't bother them for long." She cried while knocking Layla and Sora's door.

Midori had no other choice but to take her bag and her daughter to leave their apartment.

To her surprise, the door opened after a little moment. It was Layla. Fresh and clean in her white lady suit.

"Yes." She asked in her neutral tone. She looked at her guests a little annoyed but her stare arrived at Yume she let slide a welcoming smile. She took the little girl in her arms and let her guests in.

The older women sat in the living room while Layla stay standing with Yume playing with her hair.

Midori talked first. "We're sorry to interrupt you we just wanted to say hello before we go shopping."

"You're not interrupting anything." Layla stated while preventing Yume to undo her hair bun. "Nope. I won't tie them a third time." She warned the little girl who pouted but quickly found a new way to have fun. "What are you-"

"Oh my!" Midori stood up abruptly and took Yume in her arms before sitting back. She gave the little girl some toys to occupy her.

"Well...That was- Well…" Martha didn't how to qualify Yume act. "Is she still breastfeeding?" She finally asked.

"What! No! No!" Midori answered. "But maybe she's hungry." She tried to explain. "We should go to the market now".

"Ok. But first where is Sora?" Martha inquired looking everywhere. "I wanted to tell her something."

"She's taking a shower." Layla simply said rearranging her vest where Yume tried to put her teeth.

"Oh! Too bad. Well I guess I'll just leave a message." Martha started before a sound alarmed them.

"Ahhh!" It clearly was Sora voice.

But before anyone could make a move she was already on the stairs.

"It's a bee Layla! I'm allergic. Get ride of it!" Sora run to Layla totally naked and unaware of their guests.

The blonde woman wondered herself how things got that way. "Stay behind me!" Layla ordered.

"What! Why?"

"Sora!"

The Japanese girl turned her head and finally noticed her mother and above all Mrs Robbins.

"Ka-san? What-When-"

"Put some clothes on!" Midori shouted.

Feeling Midori's anger, Layla brought a bewildered Sora upstairs hiding her nakedness.

"Bu-but the bee is still there!" Sora protested.

"How can you be so dense?" Layla whispered when they were alone in the corridor near their bedroom.

"But I'm really allergic!" Sora responded. "I didn't know they were here."

Layla sighed loudly and opened their bedroom door. "Wait for me."

"Don't kill it!" Sora said while she close the door.

She didn't wait too long before Lady got back. "It's fine now. Go put some clothes. I won't face your mother alone."

Sora preferred to laugh. "Don't worry that much. My sister didn't came from anywhere. My parents know exactly what We're doing when the doors are closed." Sora added getting closer.

"It wasn't closed." Layla tried to object while Sora put her arms behind her neck. The American woman didn't like her mischievous smile. "Please tell me you won't dare!?"

But it was helpless. Since this morning Sora was quite horny and quite perverse. And she must be as insane since she skipped a board meeting to have sex with her girlfriend.

Sora started kissing her with no warning and with hunger.

Layla could only respond with the same hunger as she hold the lilac-haired girl through her legs. She led them to the bedroom and they both fall on the bed still kissing. Hands touching legs. Lips kissing neck, breasts, stomach, and lower and deeper.

They were both intoxicated by their desire. But somewhere sanity hit Layla. She stopped their kisses and sighed heavily. "Put some clothes on please or I'll loose my mind." She got up hastily and left the room not missing Sora satisfied smile.

In the living room Midori and Martha started to be impatient. "It must be quite a bee. Maybe we should help them. I guess a lady like Layla is not used to deal with bugs." Martha suggested ready to take the stairs but Midori stopped her.

"No. We were not invited there. Maybe we should come at an other time." Midori refused to even glance toward the stairs hoping nothing was happening in some bedroom. But if it was the case she will have some conversation with her daughter and her girlfriend.

Martha was about to give up when Sora appeared fully closed with shorty shorts and a tank top still drying her hair. "Layla receive a call from work. She'll come down after." She said while sitting next to her sister. "Hi Yume!"

"Did Layla get ride of the bee?" Martha asked.

"Yes. She was effective."

"Well you're the one I came to see." Martha started as Sora turned toward her. "How do you feel?"

Sora looked surprised at her question. "I don't understand?"

"I mean since the break up. Leon was your first boyfriend, wasn't it?"

A light hit Sora. "Oh! Oh! I'm fine. Don't worry. Leon and I are great friends. He just wasn't the one." Sora hoped her fake smile was convincing but at the same she was tired of lying. Yet Ken advised her to not say anything to his family.

"Good. Good." Martha smile couldn't be wider. Midori understood where she was going but refused to help Sora. She was quite angry at their behaviour. "But first you shouldn't wander without your clothes even around women. I know you Japanese people are used to it in your public bathroom but America you can't trust anyone. They are some perve-"

"I trust Layla with my life." Sora declared seriously.

"Maybe but-" Martha decided to not deliver her thoughts. She didn't understand the bond between them but she knew criticising Layla won't help her case. "Whatever. I wanted to invite you to dinner tonight."

Sora still was lost. "For what occasion? Yume's birthday is tomorrow." She added.

"Yes. But we wanted to only invite you tonight. I mean It's been long time. We really want you at home tonight. Just you." Martha thought it would be easier to persuade Sora.

Sora finally got it. She looked at her mother for help but she still wasn't in a good mood. How could she refuse politely? "I'm sorry bu-"

"No. No. I won't allow it. There is no show on Tuesday and you only train until your full recovery. Please don't make me sad." Martha seemed sincerely pained by Sora's refusal.

The Kaleido star had second thoughts and change her mind. "Well I guess a nice dinner won't hurt."

"Yes!" Martha jumped from the sofa. "Ken will come to look for you at 6 p.m." She glance at Midori. "We should go before she changes her mind."

"Let's do it tomorrow morning. I have to talk to Layla." Midori stated sternly staring upstairs.

Martha didn't mind actually. She had a dinner to prepare. She said goodbye to her friend and reminded the dinner to Sora.

When she left, Midori glared at Sora sternly."Now tell that girlfriend of yours to come here immediately!"

"But I told you-"

"Why didn't you close the door?!"

"What?" Sora was lost.

"Before we came we were next door. We heard you. Especially you!" Her mother specified.

Sora made an uneasy face. "But Layla closed the door when-"

"It was almost too late. Martha could have found out in the worst possible way!" Midori never thought her daughter could be so careless.

"Maybe it's for the best."

"What did you say?" Layla asked while entering in the living room. "Are you out of mind?"

Sora took a deep breathe before talking. "I'm tired of all those lies." She simply stated.

Layla made an incredulous face. "And you think I'm not!"

"Then why are we still lying?" Sora inquired. Her voice was much louder than she wanted. Her sister took some steps back and got closer to her mother a little afraid.

"We'll leave you alone." Midori said while taking her daughter in her arms. "But you need to think carefully about your future."

She quit their flat with no other words.

The girls were now all alone but the air was heavy. Layla sat next to Sora with a serious face. "I will follow you anywhere but you have to understand all the consequences." She took Sora's hands in her own and kiss them softly. "I love you deeply but I fear to cause you too much pain."

"No." Sora didn't like where the conversation was headed. "I'm sorry. Forget what I say. We can continue that way." She leaned on for a kiss but Layla stopped her with her finger.

"No. We have to talk about it." She stared at her girlfriend intensely and caressed her head lightly. Oh how she loved this girl. So much that sometimes it hurts. "We'll tell the truth if that you want. No more lies to anyone."

Sora could hardly believe it. Layla was so adamant to not reveal their relationship to the public. "Even Kalos?" She presided to be sure.

Layla made a weak smile while tracing Sora's lips with her fingers. "Yes."

"Oh Layla! I'm so happy!" Sora put her head on Layla's neck. "I love you."

Layla straightened their hold with a melancholic face. " I know."
