To say UA High was a normal high school was half right in Himari's mind. There were normal courses like English, Math, and Art History but they were all taught by pro-heroes who had different ways to get their lessons across. Furthermore, all of the normal classes met in the mornings so all of class 1-A had to sit through Present Mic's grammar lessons or Midnight's emotions on painting until lunch. The lunch hour was rather nice, all of the food freshly cooked and all of the students at UA ate together so if you had friends in a higher year you were still able to interact with them.
Renji was happily surprised when Ashido sat down next to her during lunch, bringing Kaminari with her. Bakugou had taken to switching between her table on some days and eating with Kirishima and Sero. Ashido teased her about the ash blonde's presence, but she assured the pink girl he did it only to bother her while she ate. A fact that Katsuki backed up the next time he appeared, spending the whole time arguing with Himari over what they would be learning later in the afternoon.
But it truly was the afternoons each hero student looked forward to when their Hero Basic Training class would take up a good chunk of their hero classes' times. Most days in the week Mr. Aizawa would teach Basic Hero Training, allowing a guest lecturer to come in once a week.
"I am here!" Himari turned her head to the door as All Might burst through the doorway, proudly posing in front of the class, "Coming through the door like a hero!"
"I can't believe it's really All Might!"
"So he is a teacher!"
"This year is going to be totally awesome!"
"Is he wearing his Silver Age costume?"
"I'm getting goosebumps. It's so retro!"
The white-haired girl smirked at the ecstatic voices of her classmates, keeping her eyes on the teacher as he approached the desk at the front of the room, "Welcome to the most important class at UA High. Think of it as 'Hero-ing 101.' Here you will learn the basics of being a pro. And what it means to fight in the name of good!" She watched as the number one hero opened his arms, "Let's get into it. Today's lesson will pull no punches!"
"Fight training!" Bakugou happily cried from behind her.
She looked behind her slightly as Izuku shifted in his seat, "Real combat?"
"But one of the keys to being a hero is...Looking good!" All Might pointed to a sidewall and compartments slowly opened revealing numbered suitcases to match up with the students' seat numbers. "These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started." The entire class cheered at the thought of actual hero costumes. "Get yourself suited up, and then meet me at Training Ground Beta!"
"Yes, Sir!"
The hero sprinted from the room and Himari made her way to the suitcases, being the closest besides Hagakure. She used her quirk to surround the suitcases in water orbs and gently passed them to each student, all of her classmates sending her thanks as they got up and made their way to the locker rooms. She paused with the last one besides her own, number eighteen, Katsuki's costume. She smiled at her blonde friend as she grabbed it with her hand and walked it over to him.
"Just so it doesn't get wet," She quietly muttered. "I know water can mess with your quirk sometimes and I don't want to damage your costume."
"Thanks, I guess," He grumbled as he snatched the case from her hand and walked out of the classroom.
She quietly followed after him and they split off when they reached their separate locker rooms. Renji waved to the other girls getting ready as she sat down and clicked open her suitcase, beaming at the outfit inside. She had requested waterproof fabric so her clothes would stay dry as she shifted her body between a liquid and solid, and was very pleased with the finished product as she ran her hand over the cool blue fabric. She pulled the bodysuit from the case and stripped her school uniform off, tossing the hero costume quickly over her. The suit was made of two different shades of blue, separating the light blue on her torso from the dark blue of her leggings with large white lines of fabric across her thighs. The tight, off the shoulder sleeves of the costume gave her arms better movement and more aerodynamics if she fought in a water-based environment, and she adored the matching blue they had to her leggings. Her costume was completed with white fingerless gloves and small white boots to keep her ankles secure when she had to run or maneuver quickly.
"Is your whole costume waterproof?" Ashido asked as he approached in her teal and purple jumpsuit. "Even the shoes?"
"Yes," Himari answered. "Easiest fabric for my body to resolidify in. I've ruined a lot of clothes with mold damage because of my water body." She sheepishly admitted.
"You look fantastic!" The pink girl squealed. "Come on, I bet Bakugou would love to see you like this."
She blushed at her teasing tone, "He was the one to suggest I made my whole costume waterproof. I was just going to leave the shoes as a normal fabric."
Ashido giggled at her clueless friend as they followed the other girls out to the training grounds. They met up with the crowd of boys at the entrance, and they all walked into the area as a class to start their training with All Might.
"They say the clothes make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen," Their teacher pointed out. "And behold, you are the proof! Take this to heart. From now on you are all...Heroes in training!"
Himari beamed at all of the amazing costume designs her classmates had, complementing Uraraka on the color tones of her jumpsuit as she kept her eyes peeled for Bakugou's appearance. Her patience was rewarded when Iida stepped away from the front as Midoriya walked through the crowd and she was gifted with the sight of her friend dressed to the nines in his hero costume.
He had grenade shaped gauntlets to better hold and emit his nitroglycerin sweat, small sweat grenades attached to his hip for long-range attacks, a black mask with an explosion like attachments at the back, black pants with a green harness belt and knee pads to assist in skid attacks, and a dark black shirt with a large red X running across the front of it. She also noted the bracers under his gauntlets to assist with his recoil and the small damper to protect his shoulders nestled on his neck.
"Katsuki!"
The blonde 'tsched' and annoyingly turned around at the cheerful tone coming from behind him, but tensed when he noticed the two-toned blue apparel his childhood friend was wearing as she ran up to him.
"Mari, your costume's...less cool than I thought it would be," He quickly said as he regained his bearings.
"Can't have all the cool support items like you, Kacchan," She lightly explained, missing his reddening cheeks. "My water body will just ruin them, plus I can only shift fabric, not metals. Thanks for the suggestion for waterproof fabric by the way. A real lifesaver!" She lightly pulled at the fabric around her legs, "It is kinda skin tight though, not sure how I feel about that yet.
"What...Whatever," He brushed off as All Might waved the students closer.
"This is getting me all revved up," He announced to the students. "You look so cool! Now, shall we get started, you buncha newbies? Now that you're ready it's time for combat training."
"Sir," Iida raised his hand slightly. "This is the fake city from our entrance exam. Does that mean that we'll be conducting urban battles again?"
"Not quite, I'm going to move you two steps ahead," All Might replied. "Most of the villain fights you see on the news take place outside. However, statistically speaking, run-ins with the most dastardly evildoers take place indoors. Think about it. Backroom deals, home invasions, secret underground lairs. Truly intelligent criminals stay hidden in the shadows. For this training exercise, you'll be split into teams of good guys and bad guys and fight two-on-two indoor battles."
"Isn't this a little advanced?" Asui asked.
"The best training is what you get on the battlefield!" All Might explained. "But remember you can't just punch a robot this time. You're dealing with actual people now."
Yaoyorozu raised her hand, "Sir, will you be the one deciding who wins?"
"How much can we hurt the other team?" Renji rammed her elbow into Bakugou's side at his blunt question.
"Do we need to worry about the losers getting expelled like earlier?" Uraraka worried.
"Will you be splitting us up based on chance or comparative skill?" Iida wondered.
All Might shook his head as he frantically pulled a small stack of notecards from his pocket, "I wasn't finished talking...Listen up! The situation is this. The villains have hidden a nuclear missile somewhere in their hideout. The heroes must try to foil their plans. To do that, the good guys either have to catch the evildoers or recover the weapon. Likewise, the bad guys succeed if they protect their payload or capture the heroes"
"Sounds like a classic action movie set up," Izuku quietly mumbled from near Himari's left side.
"Time's limited, and we'll choose teams by drawing lots!"
Iida shifted his feet, "Isn't there a better way?"
"Think about it," Izuku spoke up. "Pros often have to team up with heroes from different agencies on the spot, so maybe that's the reason we're seeing that here."
"Yes, I see," Iida nodded. "Life is a random series of events. Excuse my rudeness."
"No sweat," All Might assured the student. "Let's draw!"
Each of the students watched as the teacher pulled their names and assigned them together. Team A was Midoriya and Uraraka, Team B: Todoroki and Shoji, Team C: Yaoyorozu and Mineta, Team D: Bakugou and Iida, Team E: Ashido and Aoyama, Team F: Koda and Renji, Team G: Kaminari and Jiro, Team H: Asui and Tokoyami, Team I: Hagakure and Ojiro, and Team J: Kirishima and Sero.
Himari walked off from Bakugou as she approached their soft-spoken classmate, waving at the gentle giant as he shyly smiled in return. She glanced her head back to All Might as he tossed half of the teams into a Hero box and half into a Villain box.
"I declare that the first teams to fight will be...Team D and Team A," The teenager widened her eyes as she glanced between Bakugou and Iida as villains and Midoriya and Uraraka as Heroes. The blonde wore a murderous smile as he glared at Izuku and she was glad she was not stuck in the middle of their fight. "Team A will be the heroes and Team D will be the villains. Everyone else can head to the monitoring room to watch!"
"Yes, Sir!"
The students started to file out, but All Might watched curiously as the young Renji hung back, "Katsuki," He observed as the blonde broke out of his glaring to send the girl a softer look. "Don't kill Izuku alright? Keep him breathing."
Bakugou smirked and waved his hand towards her, "I'll let Deku off easy after I pound him to bits."
She sighed but walked off after the rest of the class, leaving the four students to their fates. She found the control room quickly enough and stood by Koda and Ashido, keeping a close eye on the security screens. She waited until All Might entered the room and watched closely as Bakugou and Iida found the fake weapon while Uraraka and Midoriya looked over the layout of the building.
"Alright, students!" All Might announced through a speaker. "Let's begin the indoor combat training! Team A and Team D, your time starts now!" He turned off the mic and turned to face the rest of the class, motioning to the monitors, "Pay attention, kids. Think about what you would do."
She watched as the hero team used Uraraka's quirk to float to a higher level window, sneaking into the building quickly and silently. Himari flinched as Bakugou jumped from a hidden hallway and blasted at the pair, missing as Midoriya shoved his teammate out of the firing range.
"He almost got the jump on them!" Mineta gasped.
Kirishima scoffed, "Sneak attack, Bakugou? What kinda man pulls cheap crap like that?"
"He's the villain, Kirishima," The purple-eyed teen stated. "He's allowed to pull cheap shots."
"It's a viable strategy," All Might agreed. "He's playing the part. Acting like a true villain would."
"It didn't work!" Ashido excitedly claimed. "Midoriya dodged him."
"Look there he goes!" Kaminari stated as he pointed to the screen.
They glanced up as Bakugou lunged at Izuku, but the green-haired boy latched onto his arm, stalling him from firing his quirk. He twisted his body around and flung Bakugou over his shoulder, sending the blonde smashing into the ground. The class cheered at the flip, but Himari narrowed her eyes as Katsuki got to his feet and squared off against his rival, leaving his back vulnerable to Uraraka. She knew it was stupid of him to underestimate his opponent, but she also knew Midoria would tell the girl to go after Iida and the bomb while he would hold off their hotheaded friend.
"Hey, who is Bakugou talking to?" Kirishima wondered as he saw the boy's mouth move on the screen. "I'm not hearing anything. Can we get any sound with this video?"
"He's got a radio in his ear so he can talk to his partner," All Might elaborated as he pointed to a small device in his own ear. "I gave it to him before the match started. Along with a map of the building. Also this, a roll of capture tape! Wrapping this around your opponent means you've apprehended them, and they're out for the rest of the game."
"So there's a 15-minute time limit," Hagakure pointed out. "And the good guys have no idea what floor the nuclear weapon is hidden on, right?"
"Correct!"
"Then the heroes are clearly at a disadvantage here!" Ashido chimed in. "A big one!"
All Might shrugged his shoulders, "Real pros have to outwit villains on a daily basis. That's life. Even when the odds aren't in our favor, we fight!"
"Monsieur, he's on the move," The class gazed back at the screens and noticed Bakugou shot himself at Izuku while the boy sent Uraraka running away, just like Himari had predicted.
Midoriya ducked out of the way and wrapped the capture tape around Katsuki's leg, using it to redirect his centripetal force and fling his body away from another explosive punch.
"The little guy's really good!" Sero said.
Shoji nodded, "He's holding his own and he hasn't even used his quirk yet."
Midoriya took off running and hid in the winding hallways while Bakugou angrily ran after him, "A hero should try to keep the building standing," Himari muttered to herself. "It would be foolish for Izuchan to do so and wreck his hand and the area. He could accidentally destroy the bomb or hurt his teammate and Iida. He's playing it safe at the moment."
"A smart observation, young Renji!" The teacher exclaimed from the front of the crowd.
"That guy has some real anger issues," Kaminari muttered as he watched Bakugou heatedly search for Midoriya. "Kinda scary…"
The water quirk user shook her head, "He's prideful, yes, and he has deep-seated issues to work out with Midoriya. But he wants to help people and protect the weak, and he knows being a top hero is the best way to do so."
"Still he should learn to curb his anger," Todoroki spoke up from the back of the crowd. "It can only lead to future trouble."
Himari sighed but nodded her head in agreement as she watched Uraraka engage with Iida, the boy seeming to monologue before the screen shifted back to Izuku and Katsuki standing across a hallway from each other. Bakugou held out one of his gauntlets and started to pull a small pin off of it, sending a burst of his sweat into the emitter of the weapon as an explosion started to build.
"No young Bakugou!" All Might exclaimed as he pressed on his earpiece to communicate with the blonde, "Don't do it! You'll kill him!"
He ignored the pro-hero's advice and ripped the pin the rest of the way out, sending a chain reaction of explosions ripping through the hallway. Renji watched worriedly as smoke descended upon the hall, blocking her vision of either of her friends. She stumbled as the shock wave from the explosion rattled the building the rest of the class stood in.
"Whoa! This is nuts!"
"Come in! Come in, Midoriya!" All Might called on his receiver.
Izuku's form appeared from the smoke lying on the ground as Katsuki stormed up to his body, lifting his arm as his other gauntlet flashed red.
"Sir, isn't this getting out of hand?" Kirishima asked. "Bakugou is acting real crazy. He's gonna kill him!"
"No," All Might argued. "Bakugou, use that stored up power again and I'll stop this fight. Your team will lose. To employ such a strong attack indoors is inviting the destruction of the stronghold you should be protecting. That's a poor strategy, whether you're a hero or a villain. The penalty would be a massive loss of points."
Bakugou glared at Midoriya and sent explosions in his hands to propel himself forward. Izuku raised his hand to fight back, but the blonde quickly fired himself over the green-haired boy's body and slammed an attack into his back. Himari frowned at the move she used so commonly to redirect her water against her enemy, perhaps training with him for ten months was not so wise.
"What was that move?"
Todoroki stepped closer to the screen, "He doesn't come off as a guy with a strategy. But he's actually quite intelligent."
Ashido and Kirishima turned to look back at the other boy, "What are you talking about."
"He changed his trajectory while in midair using a blast that doubled as a smokescreen," The white-haired girl explained.
Todoroki smirked, "Very clever."
"A feint attack like that requires an extreme amount of precision," Yaoyorozu added. "He had to calculate the physics and demonstrate control over his quirk."
Kaminari groaned, "Ugh, Bakugou is uber-talented. I hate it."
She flinched as Bakugou spun Midoriya around and smashed him back into the ground, "This is hard to watch," Ashido cried. "All he has to do is wrap the tape around him, not kill him!"
"Bakugou's certainly acting like a villain," Tokoyami observed.
Kaminari sighed, "I thought Midoriya was pretty amazing at the start of the fight, but he's completely outmatched in terms of combat power. Not to mention, Bakugou seems like a natural at all this stuff."
Izuku glanced around and crawled to another point in the room, Himari smirking as she noticed he was peeking glances up at the ceiling, "He's running away!"
"No," The petite girl argued. "He's finding a way to end this."
The class looked at her in confusion but she kept her gaze on the screens. He stood up and faced Katsuki with his back against the windows. The other boy snarled as he geared up to fight his rival, and Himari nudged Koda's side to point at the part of the screen where Iida and Uraraka were still going at it. The quiet teenager's eyes widened as he too realized why Midoriya was trying to get Bakugou to the corner of the room, right below where Uraraka was standing. The boys launched at each other and Midoriya grabbed Katsuki's hand and shoved both of their hands upwards towards the ceiling, sending a shockwave through the building as Uraraka used a piece of rubble to take out Iida.
She landed on the bomb right before the time ran out, giving a win for the heroes. Amethyst eyes watched Midoriya proudly as he fell to the ground with one of his arms broken and the other severely burned.
"What a weird way for this to end," Kaminari muttered as they watched Bakugou's defeated face. "The losers are practically untouched and the winners are both on the ground."
"How does the old saying go?" Tokoyami wondered. "They may have lost the battle, but they won the war."
Himari sighed and waited for Iida, Uraraka, and Bakugou to join them in the monitoring room while Midoriya was taken to the nurse's office. The three joined the class and the water girl frowned as Katsuki stood as far away from her as humanly possible.
"Well, despite the results. The MVP of this exercise is young Iida!" All Might declared to the class.
"Shouldn't it be one of the heroes instead?" Asui asked. "Since they're the winners?"
The pro-hero tilted his head, "Valid question. Why didn't I choose one of those two? Who has a guess?"
Yaoyorozu shot her hand up, "Sir! I can tell you why! Iida embraced this challenge. He was the only one who truly adapted to his assigned role," She smiled as the class stayed silent. "I'll explain. Bakugou's judgment was clouded by a personal grudge against Midoriya. As you pointed out earlier, launching a large scale attack indoors was a foolish move. It could have been disastrous. Similarly, Midoriya's plan was also poorly thought out, considering the amount of damage that he received. He rendered himself helpless. Not smart. As for Uraraka...She let her guard down mid-battle, and her final attack was far too reckless given the hypothetical stakes. If she'd treated the fake weapon as though it were real, she never would've risked using such an imprecise move."
Renji nodded in agreement, "Iida was the only one fully prepared for his opponent's arrival. He had a strategy, and never lost sight of his mission to protect the dummy weapon, even if he was foiled in the end."
All Might eyed the two girls in shock before he snapped out of it, "Yes...Well, you both overlooked a few things. Young Iida could have relaxed a little bit in the exercise, but...otherwise, you two nailed it."
Yaoyorozu smiled as she wrapped her arm tightly around Renji's body, making the girl's molecules shake slightly due to the sudden movement, "One should always start with the basics and devote themselves wholeheartedly to learning. That's the only real way to become a top hero. I am impressed my fellow classmate is as astute as myself."
"Th...Thanks, Yaoyorozu," Renji stuttered as she tried to slip out of her tight grip.
"Now, then. Time to blow this joint!" All Might declared as he reached into the boxes again to pick two more teams to spar. "Let's move onto the next match. Think about everything we saw and discussed as you tackle this training for yourself."
"Yes, Sir!"
The purple-eyed girl glanced back over to Katsuki but turned back to the front when Koda tapped her shoulder, "Team B and Team I. B will be the heroes this round and I the villains." Himari watched the embarrassingly short fight as Todoroki consumed the building in ice to trap the other team, tapping the bomb in a bored fashion. "He incapacitated them without compromising the weapon or his teammate. Take close note of his technique, students."
"Whoa, he's so strong!"
"Wouldn't work well on everyone, but it's good in this situation," The water user grumbled.
Mineta gasped, "What are you talking about? Who could get out of that?"
"Anyone with a fire quirk," She defended her stance. "Or someone like me who can heat their internal body temperature."
The class watched as he melted his ice quickly with the left side of his body, "That guy's kinda intimidating."
"He got in on a recommendation, so he must be good."
"Moving on!" The teacher chimed. "Time to gather around for a review of the second match. After that, we'll jet on over to our next battle!"
Renji ignored her teacher's other words as she snuck over to where Bakugou was still sulking, gripping his hand lightly with her own. He swung his head up, but paused when his ruby eyes met her face.
"Here to laugh?" He huffed out.
She shook her head, "I'm glad you didn't kill him. Your quirk usage was phenomenal."
"Deku still won," He grunted as he tried to pull his hand away.
She tightened her grip, "It's the start of the school year. Never know what will happen."
"Team F and Team E are up next!" The two glanced up at Himari's team being called. "F are the villains and E are the heroes!"
"Guess we're matching today, Katsuki," She mused as she leaned over and kissed his cheek gently before she broke away and ran over to where Koda was waiting for her.
The two teams followed All Might out to one of the other buildings in the arena, the class watched as Koda and Renji were given their earpieces and maps before they took off into the building for their 5 extra minutes. The pair stopped when they reached the sixth floor of the building where the bomb was nestled.
"Koda, how strong are you?" The teenager flexed his arms to show his skills to his teammate. "Pick that bomb up, we gotta stash it somewhere they won't think to look." The boy gently tossed the bomb over his head and followed the small girl out of the room as she walked along the hall with her hand pressed into the wall, feeling for the water pipes in the hall, "This way."
She led him down the stairwell all the way into the basement of the building, to the confusion of most of the class watching. Bakugou smirked at the screen as he watched her lead him into a dark room full of piping all over the place. She motioned for him to put the bomb down and then pointed to one of the pipes with a valve opening, Koda quickly twisting it open as she stepped away.
She pointed around the room and her teammate smiled towards the dark corners, "Hi friends!" The boy's soft voice caused a small swarm of rats hiding in the basement to appear in the middle of the room.
"You hold up the fort," Himari stated as she walked to the pipe. "I'm going to catch us some heroes!"
The girl's body started to vibrate and the class watched in wonder as she melted into water and slipped into the open pipe, disappearing from the views of the cameras. She followed the flow of water in the piping as she felt for the liquid resting in the bodies' of her opponents, finding them on the third floor heading up the stairs like the last few groups did. Himari giggled as she slipped into a pipe running along the wall, watching as Ashido and Aoyama argued with each other as the boy pointed to a spot of his cape burned by the pink girl's acid. She focused on the water moving past her liquid body and forced it from the metal chambers, sending it rushing into the two heroes as she jumped from the piping and half reformed, smiling at the two with a translucent body.
"Hi, guys! Seems like you're a bit waterlogged!"
She chuckled at her bad pun before she reformed her body completely and pushed the wave of water holding her friends down the stairs to the basement, knocking the wind out of the pair fast enough for Koda to use his rodent friends to wrap the capture tape around the other team, securing their victory. The two villains cheered as Ashido and Aoyama got their breath back to them, childishly dancing around them for a second before Koda unwrapped them and Renji helped her friends to their feet.
The white-haired girl blushed at her actions and apologized heavily to her friends, Ashido giggling at her embarrassment and hugging her in response. The four walked back to the monitoring room unharmed and were surprised at the shocked faces of the other students.
"Congratulations Team F," All Might announced as they returned. "Quite an impressive strategy, using young Koda and his ani-voice to move the bomb and as a guard while you waterified and tracked down your enemy. Very quick thinking young Renji." He glanced over to Ashido and Aoyama, "Better keep yourself on better guard young heroes. Villains will use underhanded tactics like surprise attacks at any moment's notice."
The class gushed at her quirk's utility and her skillful thinking before All Might announced another fight. The training went on for another hour while everyone watched the other fights, keying in on the different strategies and ways to improve in the future. When the last fight ended All Might brought the students out of the command room and back to the main entrance of the arena.
"You had fun with your round," Bakugou pointed out as he walked next to his bubbly friend.
"It was like when we went to that waterpark a few years ago," The girl gushed. "And I know you enjoyed throwing Izuchan around, as much as it annoyed me."
"He still fucking won, Mari!"
The girl rolled her eyes, "Stop moping Kacchan. We both know you're better than that."
The boy turned to yell at Himari, but paused when All Might spoke up from the front of the crowd, "That's a wrap! Super work! You really stepped up to the plate. And we didn't have any major injuries except for Midoriya. You should be proud. Excellent first day of practical training, all around!"
"It's nice to hear some encouraging words after our homeroom class," Asui chimed from the front of the crowd. "Mr. Aizawa's kind of a buzzkill."
All Might beamed, "I'm happy to bring such staggering positivity to my alma mater! That's all for now, folks! I should go and check on young Midoriya's progress. Now, watch how a pro exits like he's got somewhere to be!"
The pro-hero burst into a wind busting sprint and disappeared from the sight of the students.
"Okay, you guys, that is a hero!"
"Aw, I'll never be able to run that fast."
"Super awesome!"
Himari brushed off the other kids' exclamations as she quietly took Bakugou's hand again, the boy relenting and allowing her to drag him back to the locker rooms. She pushed him towards the boy's side and slipped into the girl's locker room. She changed quickly along with the other girls while Ashido cheered about the results from the exercise. They all shuffled back to their homeroom for the rest of the afternoon classes, and Renji watched the doorway closely for any sign of her green-haired friend returning. She wondered if she should go and help heal him, but the steaming look Bakugou was sending around the room made her decide otherwise. He was already humiliated by the win Izuku got off of him and she worried what he would feel if she sided with Midoriya in this instance. It was exhausting playing neutral with the pair of them. She sadly watched as he walked out of the room right as the final bell rang, disappearing before Himari could even grab him with her quirk.
"Hey, Midoriya!" She turned to the door as Kirishima waved at their injured classmate. "Good to see you back, super!" The boy stepped back as half of the class swarmed him. "Man, I don't know what you were saying during the match, but you were fired up, huh?"
"I can't believe you held your own against Bakugou."
"You did a great job dodging!"
"You guys really turned it up in the first match, so none of us held back in our rounds either!"
Izuku smiled at each of the people surrounding him as they introduced themselves. The rest of the class calmly clambered around as Kaminari and Uraraka returned from collecting textbooks for the whole class, passing them out as they conversed together.
"Hey, Deku! Why didn't the nurse heal all your injuries?" The boy rubbed the back of his head as the brunette approached.
"It has something to do with my stamina, I guess," He mumbled as he looked around the room, noticing his female friend standing alone against the window. "Himari? Where's Kacchan?"
She sighed as she walked towards her childhood friend, "You just missed him. Go on, I'll take care of your burns later."
Izuku beamed and nodded his head in agreement before he sprinted out the door. Himari sighed as she grabbed his dropped bag along with her own, slowly trailing after her boys so they could all get home together.
