"I can feel the anticipation in the stadium!" Present Mic's voice rang out as Himari and Bakugou returned to the stands, slipping back into their seats. "And that's because the second round's first match is gonna be epic! It's the guy who won his last fight by a landslide and literally left half of the audience frozen. The hero courses, Todoroki Shoto!"

The crowd went nuts as the dual-haired boy climbed the steps towards the arena, his face etched with determination.

"And this kid almost walked out of his first matchup, but made a stunning comeback by showing off some impressive moves! Also from the hero course, Midoriya Izuku!"

Himari cheered with the crowd as her friend walked towards his opponent, ignoring the scoff she heard from Bakugou as he glanced towards the ground. She lightly jabbed her elbow into his arm and innocently smirked as she felt his heated gaze move towards her head.

"These two heroes in training have both been frontrunners in the Sports Festival! But which of these rivals will advance to the next round? Begin!"

Mari watched in amazement as a gigantic glacier of ice form, racing towards Midoriya faster than she expected. But her friend was prepared and he flicked one of his fingers towards the threat, shattering the huge wave of ice coming his way. The crowd screamed as a blast of cold air whipped through the stadium and the white-haired girl tensed slightly when she felt Bakugou shuffle closer to her, subtly sharing his excessive body heat with her small form.

"It's so cold!"

"Feels like this wind is gonna freeze me solid!"

Todoroki glared at the green-haired boy across from him, luckily still in his spot thanks to a cleverly placed hunk of ice against his back.

Present Mic cheered at the beginning moves, "Wow! Midoriya managed to break Todoroki's insane opening move!"

The dual quirk user sent another barrage of ice towards Izuku, but the boy once again shattered the wall with a simple flick of his fingers. Amethyst orbs darkened as they caught sight of the gnarled and bruised fingers of Midoriya's right hand. She knew that he would run out of options soon if he just kept wasting his fingers on defensive tactics, but she also knew Todoroki was unlikely to leave an opening for Midoriya to properly exploit. Once again, the ice user sent his quirk into overdrive and once again Izuku sacrificed one of his fingers to keep the boy at bay.

"Oh, man. Oh, man," Himari turned her head slightly as a flash of red hair skidded to a stop on the stairs next to Katsuki's seat. "I'm missing it!"

Kaminari smirked at the shark boy, "Hey, nice job making it to the second round, Kirishima."

The redhead grinned, "Looks like I'll take down Bakugou next."

The ash-blonde twitched at the extra attention aimed at him and the petite girl by his side, "I'll kill you."

Kirishima chuckled, "Heh. Yeah, sure. In your dreams. No, but, seriously. It's crazy how you and Todoroki both have moves that blast the whole stadium! Must be pretty nice."

"Plus, you don't have to pause between attacks," Sero added.

Bakugou huffed, "It's not as easy as you think, ya morons."

"Hm?"

"If you overuse your muscles, you risk tearing them apart," The ruby-eyed teen quickly elaborated. "If you sprint too much, you run out of breath. We all have a limit to how much power we can produce. That's why I designed my costume the way I did...so I'd be able to fire off bigger blasts than my body usually allows me to. Quirks are physical abilities, too."

"They can get worn out. You can't just use them nonstop," The water user agreed as she kept an eye on the fight below. "Katsuki and Todoroki just have more training on expanding past their limits than the rest of the class."

"It makes sense when you put it that way," Kirishima admitted. "I wonder if that's how Midoriya thinks he's gonna beat Todoroki."

"You want an endurance match," Todoroki called out to his challenger. "But I'll end this quickly!"

Another wave of ice descended and suddenly Izuku was down a whole hand, cringing in pain as Todoroki started to form ice under his feet as he ran towards the injured teen.

"Todoroki's ice wall was once again blasted!" The announcer exclaimed. "And now he's rushing his classmate!"

"No!"

Midoriya pushed another finger past its breaking point before he jumped out of the way of the dual-haired boy's attack from above, just avoiding the ice that could have encased his body. His foot snagged on the ice, quickly becoming submerged. The freckled boy slammed his fist down, the erupting shock wave freeing him from the trap.

"That kid's already better than the average pro."

"Guess that's what you can expect from the son of the number two hero."

Todoroki glanced at the stands before he once more sent a rush of ice towards Midoriya, but Mari keyed in on the frost forming on the right side of his body. He ignored the flames he could use to control his own body temperature, resulting in a lack of regulation on his right side. It was smart that he was trying to end the fight quickly before Izuku caught onto his weakness, but something told the white-haired girl that her friend already knew.

"Whoa! Todoroki continues his overwhelming attacks! Could this be his finishing move?"

"I'M NOT DONE YET!"

The stone-faced teen gasped as an even larger shock wave than before ripped through the arena, destroying his attack in an instant. Everyone in the crowd held their breath as the energy sent Todoroki flying back, his small ice wall doing little to slow his speed down. He somehow stopped right before the edge of the battlefield and got back to his feet, glaring at the beyond broken finger on Midoriya's hand.

"You're trembling, Todoroki," Izuku called, shocking the ice user. "It's easy to forget that quirks are physical abilities, and that means there's a limit to the cold your body can take, right? You'd normally make up for it by using the heat from your left side, but you're refusing to do that right now. Listen. We're all giving it our all...to try and win. To make our dreams into a reality. To become number one! Do you think you can win with half your strength? Look at me, Todoroki. You haven't managed to put a single scratch on me yet. So come at me with all you've got!"

Himari cheered at her friend's powerful words, jumping from her seat as he stood tall against her powerful classmate.

"His movements are slower," Bakugou whispered under his breath. "Is it because he's got so much frost on his body? Maybe his quirk is like a magic meter in a video game. If that's true, he could be running on empty. Did he waste all his energy fighting against Tape Arms?"

"He needs to heat back up," The ash-blonde narrowed his eyes at Mari's observation. "But he's refusing to due to his father, a foolish choice in a fight, but it's something he'll have to deal with."

The two fighters ran towards each other and Izuku aimed a hit directly to Todoroki's right side, sending the dual user flying back once more. Todoroki righted himself and smirked at the layer of ice growing on Midoriya's left arm, leaving him at a disadvantage.

"A solid punch! That's the kind of action I like to see!" Present Mic called out.

More ice attacks came towards the green-haired boy but at a much slower speed, making them easy to avoid instead of forcing him to destroy them. The pair continued to attack each other, Todoroki trying to wear Midoriya down while Izuku aimed at the left side of his opponent. Class 1-A gasped as Midoriya used his cheek to flick his thumb, sending another attack Todoroki's way. The dual quirk user paused slightly and Izuku swiftly rammed himself into the other teenager, knocking him off his footing. Izuku sent another punch into his gut and the ice user skidded across the ground.

"It's yours! Your quirk, not his!"

A drastic heatwave swept into the stadium, and Himari covered her eyes slightly from the bright flames exploding out of Todoroki's left side.

"Is that?! He's using his fire!"

The pressure change in the arena shoved the students of class 1-A back into their seats as they watched their dual-haired classmate utilize his full potential.

"Incredible," Iida breathed as he watched the ice melt off of Todoroki's right side, fully invigorating his energy.

"Yes, Shoto!" The white-haired teen flinched at the loud, grating voice screaming from somewhere else in the crowd. "Have you finally accepted your purpose? That's it. Very good. This is the dawn of a new era for us." Renji clenched her hands as Endeavor walked to the wall separating the lowest level of the stands from the arena. "With my blood in your veins, you'll surpass me. You will live up to the reason I created you!"

"I am going to rip his throat out," Mari growled under her breath.

A hand whacked against the back of her head and she turned towards Bakugou in shock, staring at his deadpan face as he focused on his classmates below him, "You said yourself, 'no stupid shit.'"

"Endeavor suddenly shouts...words of encouragement?" Present Mic called in confusion. "What a doting father."

The younger Todoroki ignored his father as he charged at Midoriya, the green-haired boy raising his fist from another attack. The pair readied final attacks and Katsuki pushed his arm over Mari's body as another heatwave rocked through the battlefield, both teens watching in shock as Cementoss threw walls between the opponent's attacks. The walls reversed the energies of their hits and the crowd screamed as the heat and energy destroyed the cement walls, sending debris and shock waves flying in all directions.

"What's happening down there?" Kaminari yelled over the wind whipping through the air.

"This is insane!" Mineta cried.

"Having a great power doesn't mean you'll be a good hero," Cementoss's voice rang out as his form came into view. "But these two are amazing."

"What happened just now?" Present Mic asked in wonder as the demolished arena slowly cleared of smoke. "What the heck is up with your students?"

"The air around the ring had been thoroughly cooled down, and then rapidly expanded when heated up," Aizawa calmly explained over the loudspeakers.

"Wait, that's what caused the explosion? How hot did that fire get? Jeez, I still can't see a thing! Is the match still going on, or what, huh?"

Dust and smoke floated through the air as the wind settled down and Himari narrowed her eyes towards the center of the stadium in hopes to catch a glimpse of her two classmates. She watched as Midnight appeared near the edge of the ring and she inched forward in her seat as she caught sight of Izuku's red shoes by the wall of the stadium. She gasped as he teetered on his feet before he fell to the ground, rendered unconscious from Todoroki's vast well of power.

"There," Midnight announced. "Midoriya is...out of bounds. Todoroki wins! He advances to the third round!"

The dual-haired boy stared in shock at his fallen challenger, ignoring the eruption of cheers. He stayed in his spot in the arena as Midoriya was carefully carted off to the nurse before he followed Midnight's advice and left the field. Renji twitched in her seat before she nudged past Katsuki and started up the steps.

"Where are you going?"

She paused and sighed at Bakugou's red eyes glaring at her, "Izuchan's hurt, Katsu. He needs healing."

"Recovery Girl's got it," He brushed off her concern. "Come sit back down."

"No," The ash-blonde growled at her blatant refusal. "Midoriya is my friend too. And he needs help. Recovery Girl's healing takes stamina from the injured person, so he can't be healed by her right now."

She huffed and walked away before Bakugou could get another word in edgewise. She continued down towards the nurse's room, completely oblivious to the world around her. The fight was impressive, but she knew that Recovery Girl would chew her friend out again for his recklessness. His sudden quirk appearance was impressive, but if he didn't get a hang of it soon it would destroy his body beyond repair. Himari grunted as a person bumped into her and she quickly jerked away in embarrassment, apologizing to the blonde girl she hit. The girl giggled and brushed off the apology as she continued to walk down the hall towards the stands. Purple eyes followed her with concern until she was out of the young student's gaze.

The water user rushed down the hall to avoid the rest of the civilians in the hall, skidding to a stop outside of her destination. She knocked gently on the door and stuck her head inside to see Izuku sitting on a bed with his arms tightly bound against his torso.

"The bones in your right arm were shattered," Recovery Girl explained to the boy. "I'm afraid it'll never be the same as it was before."

"Maybe I could help?" The nurse turned and took in the young healer before her.

"Your quirk would be more useful to his body," The older woman admitted. "But even if you repair the injuries, the bones will still be weak."

Himari nodded but inched closer to her friend anyway. Midoriya gave her a painful smile as she raised her hands towards his body. Her palms started to slowly glow as she ran them up and down his wrapped arms, feeling for the splinters of bone scattered around his body. The boy grimaced as he felt his body fuse back together and groaned as his arm stiffened when he squirmed too much.

"Stop moving, Izuku," The white-haired girl instructed as she held his body still while she continued her work. "It's hard to multitask."

"Sorry, Himari," He whimpered.

Recovery Girl's voice echoed in the room, "Oh there you are," The teenage healer ignored the person who walked in as she continued to focus on her friend. "You are lucky young Renji here has such a good grasp on her quirk's healing potential. Otherwise, I would've needed to remove those bone fragments with surgery."

"It's not the first time I've worked with such a bad injury," Himari muttered. "When we were younger, Izuchan and Katsu would get all kinds of stupid injuries. Ironically good practice for me."

She sighed in exhaustion as the glow left her hands and she released her hold on Midoriya's body. The boy breathed in relief as the pain in his arms faded, but tensed as his leg remained throbbing.

A large hand settled onto Renji's shoulder and she glanced to see a towering, lanky figure with dandelion-like blonde hair watching her with concern, "You shouldn't be using so much energy, young one. You have your own fight coming up."

She quirked her brow as she shifted her eyes from the man's sharp face to his hand on her shoulder, "Thank you for your concern, sir. But I'll be fine. Healing is far easier than the other aspects of my quirk."

The man frowned slightly in confusion as he followed her gaze before he jerked his hand off of her, "Ah, I apologize. I did not mean to make you uncomfortable or insult your quirk."

"No, it's fine Mr..?"

"Yagi."

Himari offered the man a soft smile as she bowed slightly, "Mr. Yagi, lovely to meet you." She waved towards Midoriya as she started towards the door. "Feel better, Izuku. Listen to Recovery Girl's advice. I'll give you another healing session after my fight."

The boy grinned, "Okay, thanks again, Mari. Good luck in your fight against Tokoyami."

The girl waved to her friend and bowed once more to the adults before she slipped from the room to give Mr. Yagi privacy with the nurse. And from the injury she sensed on his torso from when he touched her the man definitely needed a healing session. It was a quick trip to the waiting room for her upcoming fight and as she settled into her seat a loud noise from the TV in the corner drew her ear.

Mursakino from class 1-B was fighting against Iida and it seemed the push-out move he had tried to use failed epically, judging from his spiked and smokey hair. The purple-haired girl seemed to use her lightning in rather unique ways, forming a whip to snag Iida's leg as he raced to avoid her wave attack. But unlucky for the skilled teenager, Iida had yet to use his Recipro Burst, and his extra speed helped him slip past her defenses and knock her from the ring. Midnight announced Iida as the winner and Himari quietly cheered for her friend as he knelt to help his opponent up. The girl flushed but accepted his help as she seemed to congratulate him on his win.

"You better not be ignoring me for Engine Legs there."

Amethyst eyes widened as Bakugou's voice floated through the air and the girl swiveled her head around the room to see the ruby-eyed boy leaning against the wall by the door. She beamed at her friend as he stayed rooted in his place.

"Sorry, the fight caught my eye," She blushed lightly as she rubbed her head. "Mursakino is rather powerful. It's a shame Iida beat her. What's up?"

"Just thought I would hang here until your fight," He stated as he pushed off the wall. "Pink Cheeks was getting annoying worrying about Deku."

"Uraraka's his friend," The water reminded her hotheaded counterpart. "It makes sense she would be worried. I was too."

"But you at least did something," He pointed out. "She's just up there whimpering."

Mari scoffed, "She doesn't have a healing quirk."

The boy looked away from his friend, "I guess. What are you going to do about Bird-Brain anyway? He got the half-naked girl out of bounds pretty quick."

"I was a little worried about how he defeated Yaoyorozu," The petite girl admitted. "But I think I found a way to weaken Dark Shadow."

"Good," Katsuki grumbled as he rose from his seat. "I'll get a kick out of watching it."

"You know," Himari spoke up before the boy left the room. "If I win and you win against Kirishima then we have to fight each other…"

She watched as he tightly gripped the door handle, "Then I hope you're better than you were during our training, those sparring sessions were pretty sad."

The white-haired girl sat in silence once her friend left, taking in his words. She knew he was reluctant at the thought of fighting her, but she also knew he wouldn't hold back. He wanted to show the world that he could reach the top, but she also knew that she had to give her all if she wanted to stand beside him proudly. Another knock sounded at the door and Mari smiled sweetly at the same volunteer that escorted her to her fight against Aoyama. The walk seemed faster this time, most likely due to the lack of shitty fathers cramping up the halls, and the volunteer waved the teenager off as they reached the entrance hall to the arena. Renji tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she walked through the hall and into the thundering noise of the stadium.

"We're in for a treat now, sports fans!" Present Mic screamed as Himari and Tokoyami appeared out from their respective entrances. "He won through his swift avian moves last round, from the hero course, Tokoyami Fumikage!"

The quiet teenager nodded towards the seats above as he kept his arms crossed, his cool demeanor impressing the crowd.

"And from the same class, the girl who rapidly rushed her way into her first victory, Renji Himari!"

Purple eyes brightened as she waved at the crowd and the people above went nuts, cheering even louder for the petite girl. Himari turned her gaze back to her dark-toned classmate and adjusted her stance as she surveyed her surroundings. She tensed her shoulders as Present Mic cried out the beginning of the battle and waited for Tokoyami to make the first move. In his previous fight with Yaoyorozu, he had smartly deflected her attacks and ended up pushing the other girl out of the ring in mere seconds. And the purple-eyed girl was correct in her assumptions as Tokoyami and Dark Shadow lunged towards her faster than many in the stadium could even catch with their eyes.

A mixture of cheers and gasps echoed through the crowd as the flash of black stumbled right through where Renji was previously standing, the female student now on the other side of her confused classmate. The boy rushed her again but she dodged around his attack gracefully as she glanced towards the sky pensively.

"It seems like Renji has learned a thing or two from Tokoyami's last brawl!" Present Mic cheered along with the crowd. "But is she able to defeat her opponent with avoidance alone!?"

The dance-like movements continued until the white-haired girl froze and her body slowly phased into her water form. Class 1-A watched closely as her body suddenly seemed to glow and Kirishima jumped to his feet when he noticed Dark Shadow jerking back from her beacon-like form, "What's up with Tokoyami?"

"Whatever it is, he has to recover quickly," Yaoyoruzu added as she watched Renji rush her challenger with her beaming liquid form, her eyes widening as her classmate solidified her arms and landed a solid hit against their avian friend.

The teenage boy flinched away from the bright light streaming from his opponent along with the harsh attacks she started to bombard him with, not even noticing as he was quickly shoved from the boundary.

Midnight waved a red flag towards the dark student, "Tokoyami is out of bounds, Renji will advance."

"And just like that young Renji has claimed another win!" The stadium's ecstatic cheering echoed as Present Mic screamed over Midnight's announcement. "What a beautiful but powerful sight, I've never seen anything like it!"

"She simply reflected the sunlight with her water form," Aizawa dryly added as he watched his two students shake hands and walk off the field together. "A smart move due to Tokoyami's advantage with nighttime and shadows."

The voice hero nodded his head, "But the question everyone here is itching to know is who her next opponent will be: The steadfast Kirishima or the powerhouse Bakugou? Find out in the next match, listeners!"
