Hajime's POV
'Today is the day' I thought to myself.
After spending time with (Y/N) last night, I knew that I had to go to the administration building in hopes to negotiate my way into the main course. Chiaki was right, this is most likely my only option. Despite Chiaki telling me that I don't need to be accepted into the main course to feel special - I'm still sticking to my main priorities. I'm not just getting into this course for (Y/N), but also for myself. Heh, I guess at this point my agenda is pretty self explanatory - I've probably been over this idea in my head over a thousand times.
The school morning went by as usual. (Y/N) and I walked to school together and talked until it was time for us to part ways and head to class. I made a mental note that during lunch I would go to administration.
I hope (Y/N) won't be too upset with us missing lunch together again. I'd have to make it up to her one of these days...

(Y/N) POV
I was in super high spirits today, and so was the rest of my class. We didn't have a lot of work load and we actually had time to talk with each other. Well it was more like everyone talked with each other besides me.
But I didn't let that get my guard down. I was thinking about how I never got to tell Hajime about what happened to Natsumi. I knew that he had class with her, so it's only right that he knows the truth of what happened to her. Mahiru actually pulled me aside before class, a little after Hajime and I went our separate way this morning. She told me that her friend Sato ended up getting killed and her murder was set up by Natsumi's brother Fuyuhiko. I honestly can't say that I was surprised by this information, it was quite obvious what would happen next. I felt so bad for Mahiru but then again there was nothing more we could do about the situation.
"Just don't give up Mahiru, give yourself time to grieve. Sato died trying to protect you as her friend. So don't lose hope completely."
Mahiru took my advice with a grain of salt and she's actually been pulling through the rest of the day quite well. But you never know what's going on behind a person's smile. She's in a lot of pain, but her strength is what's pulling her through everything right now.
Suddenly the lunch bell went off and I immediately started making my way downstairs to meet Hajime.
I ended up coming to our usual spot kinda early. I looked around before taking a seat and waiting patiently for Hinata to come.
But the more I waited, the more worried I became. He was no where to be found.
'Where is he?' I thought to myself.
Then suddenly I thought of Chiaki. My face turned red then I frowned staring at the ground.
There's no way he went off somewhere to eat lunch with her without telling me right?
...right?
I sighed softly but immediately looked to the left when I hearing the ground crunching beneath someone's feet.
It was Hajime, walking slowly in his usual reserve attire.
I jolted up from my seat and stood in front of him with a bright smile. "Hinata! You idiot, I thought you stood me up"
He looked at me stunned for a second, but then his face relaxed into a warm smile. "No (Y/N), I'm sorry for making you wait."
I shook my head understandingly and looked happily in his eyes. "Hajime, I never got to tell you what I found out about Natsumi"
Hajime hesitated before shaking his head and replying "Sorry. I have something to do. There's somewhere I need to go."
My shoulders slumped slightly and I looked at the ground. "I see..."
The only sound I could heard was the gentle blow of the wind, and the smooth rushing of the water pouring from the water fountain.
Without saying anything more, Hajime started to walk past me. I turned towards him and parted my lips. He was getting further away, but before he could get far - I called out to him.
He turned around and looked at me with concern. "What is it, (Y/N)?"
"I..."
My throat tightened and my face became red. I had no idea what I wanted to say to him. A big part of me just didn't want him to go. Why does everything feel weird all of a sudden?
That happy and cheerful feeling I felt before was gone. I felt uncertain. I felt nervous. I so desperately wanted to be in his arms again. I wanted to feel him hug me the way he did last night. Why does this almost feel like I'm saying goodbye?
But I'm not, I'm not saying goodbye. There's no reason to think that.
Hajime continued to look at me waiting for an answer.
"I...I'm sorry"
There was silence. And so much distance between us.
My intuition was right, Hajime does hide things from me. But for some reason, I couldn't find the confidence to ask what was wrong or where he was going.
"It's nothing." I said softly to him.
"(Y/N)..."
He walked towards me again and looked down at me. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a sparkling gold hairpin. He grabbed my wrist and placed the item in my hand, forcing my fingers to grip the item tightly. I looked up at him confused and nervous. I could hear my heart beating in my ear.
"I never got to show my gratitude and appreciation for you being there for me. I meant to give you this a while back but it always slipped my mind. And don't ask me how I got it." he patted my head gently and chuckled softly.
I accepted his gift without further question. I looked down at the palm of my hand before Hajime grabbed my chin and forced me to look up at him.
"Are you making memories, (Y/N)?"
"Uh..."
"I know you're not ordinary, whatever your talent is must make you really special. That's why...you have to make memories at this school."
"Hajime, I already am. You're apart of my memories...idiot."
He then caressed my cheek, causing me to blush. "Good."
We looked at each other carefully for a second before Hajime said,
"Bye. See you later."
"Okay" I replied softly "See you after school."
And with that, Hajime turned his back and started walking away.

Hajime's POV
I feel terrible leaving (Y/N) just standing there like that, but I can't think of any other time to go take care of this business...but once I surprise her by getting into the main course - everything will be perfect.
We'll be able to have class with each other, share our work and ideas. We would always get to be around each other and proudly walk up the steps of the school together. And not only that, I'd be able to learn about the other Ultimates and their talents - and even start understanding my own as well because...
I know I have a talent.
I have to have one.
I tucked my hands in my pockets and gulped as I started approaching the administration building.
The building was extremely tall with many different floors and windows. The feeling I had standing here in front of this building was very...small. Despite being a student at this school, I almost feel as if I don't belong in this building either. There's just something very important about this place.
I reached my hand out nervously to open the main door - and after being deep in thought for a while - I finally opened the door and stepped inside.
As soon as I stepped inside, I realized that I had no idea where I was going.
The hallways were empty and extremely quite, all I heard was the sound of my footsteps against the tiles.
Eventually I came across an elevator and decided to try the top floor. I mean I guess it would make sense for the most important people to reside on the top floor of this massive building. That includes the headmaster.
I stepped onto the elevator the moment it opened and I made my way up to the highest level. I stared emotionlessly as the numbers went up and up on the little display screen in front of me. Finally, the ding of the elevator and the opening of the door suggested that it was time for me to get off.
I roamed the halls of this floor for a while until I heard the sound of a door closing some ways ahead of me. I stopped in my tracks and saw a girl with long lavender hair exiting one of the rooms in the hallway. Her face showed no emotion - though at the same time she looked annoyed or troubled - and her hands were hidden by a pair of black gloves. She passed by me swiftly, giving me a glance as she continued down the hallway. From the looks of her clothes, she was an Ultimate student.
I decided to approach the door of the room she just left. Next to the door was a sign that noted that this was the headmasters office.
A wave of panic brushed over me, but I shook my head - getting rid of any negative thoughts that would stop me from knocking on this door this very moment. I looked up, my face filled with seriousness and determination and I finally raised my hand to knock on the door.
A male voice came from within the room, inviting me in.
As I stepped inside, the first thing I noticed was a man who appeared to be in his late thirties sitting calming at a desk centered in the middle of the room. His hair was dark purple and his sharp purple eyes resembled the girls' who just left this room.
On his desk displayed his name:
Jin Kirigiri, Headmaster
