Lucrecia made them something to eat and Valerio picked the appropriate wine to go with it. He also set the table and they ate in silence stealing glances and smiling like two idiots.

''What?''

''Nothing Lu… Just, it's so good to have you here… I really missed you.''

''I missed you too.''

Suddenly his smile was gone. Lucrecia saw it and it got her worried.

''What is it Val?''

''How are we going to do this?''

''Do what?''

''Be together… We can't show up anywhere as a couple…''

''Well, we can always show up as siblings… What we actually are… and the rest we can figure out.''

''What if it gets out?''

''We suck it up and live with it.''

''It can fuck up your internship.''

''I don't care… You matter more.''

''I don't want to ruin your life Lucrecia…''

''You are not ruining my life… You are making it better. I don't remember being as happy as I am with you. Valerio… You make me happy… Happier than I ever was.''

''If you are sure…''

''I am sure… And we both are risking a lot by being together, but you are worth it. I love you Val.''

''I love you too Lu.''

After they were done with dinner, they did the dishes and went back to bed. Valerio was really determined to keep his word and not let her out of that bed until lunch with Carla. And to be honest, Lucrecia liked that idea. No, it was not just and only about sex for them. Yes, there was a lot of it happening, but to them it was more about finally being close, together and relaxed. There was no fear of her parents or maids catching them together or seeing something they could interpret as they were lovers. They were finally locked in the apartment where they felt safe and that had no price for ether of them. She was ready for a lifetime of being a perfect sister in public, but she was in desperate need for their private to be really private and just for them.

Lucrecia woke up first. She turned in Valerio's arms and put her head on his chest. He was sound asleep, as usual and he didn't wake up when she moved, he just pulled closer. She kissed the spot above his heart and smiled.

''I am not going anywhere. I promise. Never again without you.''

She spent some more time cuddled up to him and then she left the bed. She took a shower and went to the kitchen to make them coffee and something to eat. She made him something that is considered tradiotional Mecxican and Chilean breakfast. For his side there was cheese, jelly, cold cut meat, juice, and the famous Nestle instant coffee that he seems to love. And for the Mexican she made Chilaquiles and Huevos a la Mexicana. There was not a lot of food, but she made few different things for them. She was finishing making food and singing and she didn't hear Valerio coming behind her. She felt his arms around her and smiled.

''Good morning Val.''

''Good morning my queen.''

He looked at the table and had huge smile on his face.

''Oh, we are having a small Fiesta Latina here.''

''I was in a mood for something like that.''

''I love it…''

''Let's dig in.''

They got to the table and started eating. She could see that something was on his mind and that he was thinking about something very hard.

''What is it Val?''

''One of my clients is thinking about opening a restaurant…but he has no idea what sort of restaurant. You just gave me the idea with this little spread.''

''I am listening.''

''Mexican food…''

''There are Mexican restaurants here.''

''I know, but this would serve everything… From the simplest foods to exclusive recipes… And… It would help the community because it would serve food in ceramic plates and dishes made by… I don't know… Some sensitive group… We can make them small workshop where they could do this… Make plates, paint them and do all they have to do to make it good for use. What do you think?''

''I think it's good idea… Maybe you can even get him to give some percentage of the restaurants income to those who make plates and community you pick.''

Valerio was silent.

''How about LGBT youth that is kicked from their homes? Homeless kids always need help not to turn to prostitution or other crimes.''

''That sounds good.''

''Maybe I could talk to Carla. She might wat to help.''

''Sure… She was always sucker for charity.''

''That must be pun about Samuel?!''

''Always… I could never understand how she could...''

''Lu… Many people wouldn't understand your choices.''

''Many people don't understand the complicated person I am.''

''No, they have no idea how amazing you are…You are actually no that complicated. You don't tolerate bullshit and that's it.''

''Yes, that's it.''

After they were done with eating, Valerio cleared the table and Lucrecia went to check her messages. As expected she had million missed skype calls from Nadia and the boys. She sent them messages that she was ok and that she was busy with a wink emoji. Ander told her to say hi to Valerio and Nadia told her that she owes her a long talk. Yes, she did…And Nadia owed her too. She wanted to know how things with a husband were and how is life without her.

Valerio got ready and Lucrecia changed into green dress and black shoes. He got her hair in a braid and did her beauty routine before they left the apartment. It was weird to keep distance from Valerio after spending almost twenty four hours glued to one another. But, now they were out of the apartment and siblings again. He opened the door of his silver BMW cabrio and she got in. The roof was down and she loved it. She missed watching his hair fly on the wind and she was even tempted to let her hair down. When they arrived, Carla was already there. She sat at her favorite table and waited for siblings to join her. Lucrecia was glad to see her.

''Look what the cat dragged here… How are you Lu?''

They hugged and Lucrecia took a seat across from Carla.

''I am good. I am still getting used to being back.''

''I understand. It took me some time to adjust too. I think I needed three days just to get to the normal sleeping rhythm.''

''I am sleeping just fine.''

Carla was looking at both of them and there was small smirk forming on her lips.

''So, he is letting you sleep? I've believed he would be very interested in keeping you awake… After all, he waited for so long for you to come back.''

Lucrecia and Valerio looked at her in shock. They had no idea if she knew or teased them that they are clingy siblings.

''Come, on! Relax, I've known for years… I saw you.''

Lucrecia was surprised by that and Valerio grew to respect her more. She never used that against Lucrecia when they were not on good terms.

''What was I supposed to do? Come to you and say I know you are doing your brother?!''

At the same time both of them spoke.

''HALF BROTHER!''

They looked at each other and Carla smiled.

''You are too cute… I always felt a bit jealous of two of you.''

Lucrecia didn't expect that comment.

''Why?''

''You both had someone who loved you that much… And that night when things with Polo happened… You were ready to give up. You were ready to crack…and all it took was few words from him to turn it all up. You didn't lie to save yourself. You lied for him… You saved yourself for him. I think that was the grand gesture we all need in our lives.''

''Polo killed Marina for you… That was a grand gesture.''

''It's not the same.''

They changed the subject since they were in public and it was no time and place to talk about things like that.

''Are you coming to the gathering?''

Lucrecia looked at Valerio and he looked at her.

''If Lu wants.''

''We will be there.''

''We will meet at his grave first and then we are going to his house. His moms are making some food and they want to see us all and see what's going on with our lives. ''

''I am not sure I am ready for that.''

Valerio gave her sad smile and Carla continued speaking.

''Some parents might be there too.''

''You mean my mom?''

''Dad too… It's not sure, but he might be there with my dad and Guzman's dad.''

Valerio took some of his water.

''Trio fanastico.''

''Yes, something like that.''

Lucrecia simply had to ask.

''How do you feel about seeing Samuel?''

''It's in the past Lu. From what I heard, he is with Rebeca now.''

''You were always too good for him.''

Carla knew her friend was just cheering her on.

''Thank you Lu… But we all know that relationship could have never worked out.''

''Yes, I knew it from the start. You couldn't make it work with someone that different from you.''

Valerio just looked at Lu and narrowed his eyes at her. He was going to tease her.

''You want to say poor?''

''NO! No, I was not going there…''

''Oh, no?''

''No, Valerio… I was going for…hmm… completely different with different set of values and morals.''

Carla took bight of her sea bass and just looked at her friends.

''Lu, do you really think we have any integrity or moral?''

Lucrecia was silent for a moment. She really had to think about the answer.

''I think that we do what we have to. It's not easy to survive in the world we live in. We are all fighting for survival, just in a different ways. He came from the world where he had close to nothing and we were born with everything. Our world is messier and more complicated than his. We have appetencies to keep and pretend we live perfect lives… We are children of ambassador; you are daughter of your parents. On paper, we are perfect kids and live in perfect families…''

Lucrecia could see both Carla and Valerio flitch when she mentioned the parents.

'' We spent most of our lives making it all look perfect. Look at our family photos. Every single of them is fake. We don't have any photograph that is real. You know those spontaneous ones… No, that's not for us. It would crew up the image of perfect families. Your mom's bodegas, your dad's companies… It also has to have perfect image in public. You go to events, pose with them…knowing how much they fucked you up and how much you can't stand them… But every year, there is perfect smile for the Christmas card. Your parents pretend to love one another and everything is picture perfect. Public is thirsty to see us fail. They want to see you in a bad outfit, with greasy hair and no makeup looking like shit. They need that to feel better about themselves. They want to see our ''perfect'' relationships fall apart and see us cry over boy or a girl that broke our heart. They need to see that we are just like them. And it's up to us to let them see us that way, or fight to keep up the web of lies we all live in.''

Carla continued eating and thinking about what Lucrecia just said. They all lived a lie in their own way.
