Callie was forced to make the message that would go out to the pirates first. She had no idea how these evil men planned to reach them, but the pirates could access every frequenzy of the very galaxy. They were sure to pick up the message. Once that was done, they made the main message. Callie did not like standing next to her abductor, but was left no choice. She knew her safety beacon was transmitting. It was strange they had not searched her for it, but she realised quickly why. The safety beacon would lead the pirates straight to them, giving them a chance to force Sonny to surrender. She could not allow that to happen. Sonny needed stay free and on this mission. No just for the pirates sake, but for the many that had lost a loved one to Technoids reign. Callie forced herself to calm down, hoping the pirates was on to her whereabouts.

At the Black Manta, Sonny was trying to process the new information the doctor had put forth. By making this move, the doctor himself was in danger from his employers, and had to be detained. Sonny could understand Corso not feeling happy about that, he had every right to hate this man when they looked at his past, and what he had done to fellow soldiers of his. But that still did not justify tossing a man that seemed to regret his actions to the wolves. For now, he had to remain locked up,.till the pirates had a plan for how to deal with him.

What Sonny was concerned about was The abraxians. They knew how to hide, like the chissians, where Corso came from, they were elite military, cream of the crop. That meant that an urban enviroment like Genesis was an easy place for them to blend in.

And men that blended in was far more difficult to spot than those that did not. He decided to leave the evasive tactics up to Corso, Corso was elite military himself. He knew his way around and would come up with a strategy that would make them avoid the abraxians.

What was concerning was the reason they wanted to get hold of him. His abilities to create and manipulate flux. An undetectable weapon, if mixed correctly, and powerful enough to tear a man made giant like Genesis apart. It had hit him hard, to realise why Bleylock had placed him with the lecturers and professors that he had. All these professors put together had the knowledge to create a super weapon, one that meant they could control the galaxy. But many of them could no stand each other. He knew some of them would outright bad name the others, to get them in the same room would be a physical impossibility. This had to be why Bleylock found a way around their security system. To create the weapon he planned on making, seemingly with Abraxor as a base of operations, he used his wonderboy, his young protege, as a tool. Sonny realised that was why he had been put in the classes he had, and advanced so fast. To create flux from nothing, the strongest kind of power the galaxy had, The abraxian military, led by his father, and Bleylock, needed a scientist whom had learned all the techniques, to use this knowledge, and combine all the parts, and succeed in making the weapon. The Metaflux had been just the experiment that proved his capabilities. And from the data they had, this was when Sonny had become a high priced merchandise. To the unknowing, just a regular scientist, easy to train, but to the Abraxian military, the very key to obtain galactik power. In a sense, they didnt need him, they needed his brain.

That was not a thought that sat well with Sonny. But it explained the reason why the price paid was so high. And there was still questions, but of the kind that an abraxian would not care about. They would see it as weakness. He had to eliminate this threat somehow. Sonny tried to think, when Corso came.

"Sonny, come quick. We got a problem!" he said.

Sonny felt the anger seep in as he watched a horrified Callie, held at gunpoint by an heavily armed abraxian sergeant. The threat of the videofile was very real. Either, he came out of hiding, or Callie was done for. He had a mere 4 hours to respond.

Corso was clenching his fists.

"How did they find out about her? I thought we had done everything in our power to protect her" he managed.

Sonny sighed.

"This is my fault. I should have picked someone else to do the mandated welfare check up. Its because I requested her, they got suspicious" he said.

Corso sighed.

"Now what do we do Sonny? We cant just let them kill her!" Corso argued.

Sonny nodded.

"And we wont Corso. She has done too much for us not to return the favour. Artie. Check her safety beacon. If its not activated, do it remotely. Callie is a smart woman, and she knows how to keep her cool. As soon as we got a location, Corso, you assemble a rescue team. We will free her from this. The best place would be to bring her here to the ship. I will have one of the female pirates provide some clothing for her. Until we can apprehend these bastards, Callie has to lay low, Bennett, contact Aaron, see if he knows anything about this" Sonny ordered.

As his gaze again went to the screen and the video file that played on a loop, Sonny felt as if his blood started to boil. One thing was going after him and his men, they were used to being hunted and didnt worry too much. But now, they targeted associates of theirs, that made it personal. He had to make sure to stay calm before he made any judgement calls. That was why Corso stuck around. Corso could tell just how close his friend was to boil over.

"I would not want to be in the abraxians shoes right now" he muttered.

As soon as she was done with that they demanded, Callie found herself gagged, and blindfolded. As bad as this was, she still didnt worry too much for herself. Hearing the talk among her abductors, and how Sonny was described as a tool, that if he refused to cooperate, they could kill him and just keep his brain unharmed, it had made her realise how cold hearted these people were. If they got Sonny, he was in mortal danger. Sonny would not be taken easily, there was a very real chance they would kill him to get what they wanted. Maybe they just needed his knowledge, but she, the galaxy, the pirates, they needed him,as the person they knew, the leader, friend and from what he had let slip, the father to a teenage son that he was. She felt like she had gotten so close to them all these last weeks. And Sonny was someone she really had come to care for. He was one of the most caring peopleshe had ever met,and would always lend a hand if asked. That man had a heart of gold. And so much care for his men. No wonder they loved him so much and stayed so loyal to him. To think these people would consider hurting him, just to obtain a goal of creating a sort of super weapon, it made her feel sick. She hoped the pirates would be careful. Sonny had to sit this one out. He was not strong enough to make a run for it yet. But somehow, she felt certain Sonny would not take any risks with this. He would leave this to Corso. All she had to do, was wait.

Corso studied the building from afar. He had a few pirates hand picked for this, among them Artie and Bennett. Sonny had not even debated leading this. He knew he was not strong enough yet to make a clean get away, and for once, he had not argued. Corso was happy he had decided to stay safe onboard the Black Manta. That allowed him to focus on freeing Callie.

So far, he had focused on the guards. In an urban setting like this, they were not easy to spot. But Corso, as an elite military man, knew what to look for , he communicated the numbers to Artie, and the locations. Then, they started to form a plan of attack. Corso pulled out a device from inside his pocket, and aimed it at the apartment. A few minutes later, Corso nodded. He had all the heat signatures pegged. Now, they were ready to attack.

Aaron was not happy. He had received Callies videofile, and at the same time, Sonny Blackbones had called and let him see the threat aimed at them. Aaron was angry that he had been tricked to send her to this. It seemed whomever was behind this, figured Callie for knowing more than she let on. Had her mandated report tipped them off that she knew the pirates?

Sonny made sure to calm him down. This was just a freak happening, and the pirates would protect Callie once she was safe. What Aaron had to do, was roll the videofile regardless, and make everything seem normal. The pirates would take care of the rest.

After dark, Corso decided to strike. All the pirates worse night vision goggles for this mission. They were armed with stunners. No need to take prisoners, this was solely a rescue mission. Corso had also brought something for Callie too, to calm her nerves after she was safe. For someone not used to the risk of abduction, Callie could have reactions. Corso had also had a small conversation with Sonny on board over a holo call, and discussed the strategy he had chosen. Sonny nodded as he saw the details and information Corso put forth. He nodded.

It was time to go.

Callie felt like her hands was growing limp under the tight ropes. The gag did not help and the blindfold itched. Still, this was minor discomforts. She had heard the videofile of the message from Technoids board of directors played. This was either going to cause anger in the public or a demand for Sonny to come out of hiding. She hoped he would not act on it. And she wondered if they had received her signal.

Then, a small sound made her turn. It sounded like...Callie listened. It sounded like people falling over, on the floor. This had to be the pirates. Whom else could have figured where she was held. And they were either using a sedative, or some other quick means to take out her guards. Then, she felt a hand on her arm.

"Hush Callie. I think its time we remove the gag and the blindfold. I never liked being in the dark like that" said Corso as he untied her.

Callie rubbed her wrists.

"My safety beacon worked then" she smiled.

Corso nodded with a smile.

"Our gear is meant to always work. Now, how about we leave this place. Sonny is waiting for us back at the ship".

Back at the ship, Sonny greeted them all upon their return. Callie received a long hug from him. From the strenght alone, she determined that Sonny had been worried for her. This was a bear hug from him for sure. Sonny turned her to look at him.

"This was not my intention Callie, I am truly sorry for what you had to go through" Sonny said.

Callie smiled.

"Its not your fault Sonny, if I wasnt always looking for a scoop, this would not have happened" she said.

Sonny smiled.

"It was still me that picked you from the list of mandated reporters. If I had known this would happen, I would have gone with someone else" he said.

"Ok, Lets share the blame instead" Callie said, giving him another hug, wich Sonny accepted with a smile.

Sonny saw how Corso hid a smile when he saw her do that, and his reaction. If he didnt watch out, he would find Corso playing match maker, and that was not a good idea when you were a pirate. Corso smiled as he detected Sonny not being all hostile towards Callie, like he was with some women. Corso could recall other ladies having done the same and Sonny being in a hurry to free himself from their embrace. With Callie, it seemed Sonny had found a friend, and an equal,a female partner in crime that he enjoyed being around and talk to. That was a welcome sight. Maybe this would be a chance for him to explore once all this was taken care of. Corso hoped so. He enjoyed seeing his friend like this.

As Sonny allowed Callie to lean into his chest, he looked at his men. Corso nodded, he understood the silent question. He held up a small device.

"We got all the evidence needed Sonny. Want me to call Maddox and tell him?" Corso asked, looking at his friend.

Sonny nodded.

"Tell him, the board gets their wish. We will take this to trial within the next two weeks".

Lol, the pirates are not playing are they. And with Sonnys near and dear under threat, it spurs the pirate chief into action. Exactly what does the pirates have planned for this trial. And what is Sonny aiming for with this. Keep reading, and enjoy the story. This is not a betaed story. I love the betaed stories, but Paranoid girl has her own work too, and her own stories in other fandoms, I do recconmend you read them, I really find them inspirational. Let me know what you guys think of this unbetaed story. If there are spelling mistakes or words that jump out, I am sorry, I try to catch it all before I post. I do hope this is helping people understand how the pirates operate during missions, their planning strategies and how the team work between them really is the foundation to their successes. Happy reading.
